00:54I am very happy to see how the brother is working, I loved the first part, I have yet
00:58to watch the second part, but Aditya is a great film maker, we got a great cast together and
01:04I am so happy that everyone is getting so much love and I can't wait to catch this, I will
01:08go to Bombay and I will watch the film.
01:09Something on love and war, your film is about to come, love and war, something you want
01:14to tell us about that.
01:14Now we are talking about the festival, how do you feel about the festival, how do you feel
01:18about the festival in our country, we have a great festival in our country, so when we
01:26go to the whole world to the film festival, now the world has to come to the film festival,
01:30so this is a great festival in our country, and I want to make a lot of films in Delhi.
01:35Any particular films that you have been doing for the inaugural?
01:38Actually I have just come for today, for the inaugural, and then I will have to go back
01:42to my shoot schedule, but I have heard that there are more than 125 films here, so I really
01:47hope that there is also.
01:48So you can watch that there?
01:50I know, I know, but I don't want to make Bombay here.
01:54I want to make a lot of films, I want to make a lot of films, so I want to
02:04make a lot of
02:04I want to make a lot of films, I want to make a lot of films, I can think about
02:06cinema,
02:06there are a lot of master classes, workshops, so if a young person has come to art, it can
02:16It can be a sadhupyog as much as it can be seen in the film and in the masterclasses.
02:23Josh is always like that.
02:26It gives an opportunity for people in Delhi to see different kinds of films, different language films.
02:36Like one of my Bengali films, which we did, that was my last film a few years ago, not even
02:44few.
02:45It's a recent film and I'm very happy I've done it.
02:49It's very age appropriate and I think one of my best, if not the best.
02:55Because there's so much freedom that comes with age and you don't have to really look pretty.
03:01Your face is not so much.
03:03So you can act so much better with freedom.
03:07So I'm very happy about that.
03:09Ma'am, this festival is also celebrating you.
03:12Do you know that sir?
03:13Yes.
03:14And ma'am, anything other than that?
03:15No, I'm very happy.
03:17I'm very happy and appreciate and grateful that they're doing this for me.
03:22And yes.
03:23Yes.
03:24I'm a celebration of heritage cinema.
03:27Yes.
03:27Absolutely.
03:28Thank you very much.
03:29I'm not from Delhi.
03:29I'm from Delhi.
03:30But I'm from Delhi.
03:32Delhi is a cultural capital of India.
03:35And it's very good.
03:36I've said that it's an overdue festival.
03:39And it's very good that finally Delhi has got its own film festival.
03:43Delhi, I think they're very keen film goers also.
03:47They'll get to see all kinds of Indian and international cinema.
03:49They'll get to see all kinds.
03:50So it feels very good.
03:51I think the Delhi audience and see our audience deserve it.
03:55Pohadrat sir, this is a wonderful initiative.
03:57And this is the first international film festival happening in Delhi.
04:01And we have been asked to participate.
04:04We are very glad.
04:05And this will help for the young talent.
04:09I think it's just not the film.
04:10Because you get a chance to see good films everywhere nowadays.
04:13But I think this workshop and those classes will really help the new generation.
04:21Because there are a lot of talents throughout the country.
04:24And they are doing fantastic work.
04:26And I think this kind of a festival gives us a lot of hope.
04:30And you get a chance to see not only international films.
04:34You also get a chance to see a lot of films happening in India.
04:39We get a chance to see mostly the language which is Hindi.
04:45But there are a lot of good work happening in Punjab, in Marathi, in Gujarati.
04:51So you get a chance to see a lot of young talent doing a lot of good work nowadays.
04:56So I think this is a wonderful initiative.
04:58And I'm really happy to be part of it in the first film festival.
05:02Is there any film that you are looking forward to watch here?
05:04I just came for a day and a half tomorrow.
05:07They are showing one of my films.
05:09Which was a national award film.
05:11Along back with the first time director.
05:13But yeah.
05:14But I will just go through the list.
05:16And if I get a chance, I will surely watch it.
05:19I think I am very grateful to all the women who have paved the path for women in cinema.
05:23Because it's not overnight to nahi hua.
05:27It's taken decades of female actors or female filmmakers, technicians and thinkers, writers
05:34who have actually created that path for more female actors and creators and women in cinema.
05:41So I think it's very important to celebrate as much as we are celebrating contemporary women in cinema.
05:48And I'm really happy that the first edition of Delhi International Film Festival has this as a theme.
05:53Along with celebrating everybody who is contributing to cinema.
05:58Ma'am, this film festival is having free entry for all.
06:02So how do you think this will benefit all the independent films?
06:06Absolutely.
06:07In fact, that's one of the first things that I saw.
06:09And I am very encouraging and appreciate that Delhi International Film Festival is not
06:15thought of it.
06:16Because I think the film festival has more access to the masses, the independent filmmakers
06:22and the most of the film we make for the audience.
06:25So if you have free time to register and watch films, that's great.
06:31Because the gatekeeping is what keeps cinema divided.
06:35Because when I interact with the audience and talk, they feel like this is a festival film.
06:41And you know, it's like a lot of process.
06:43It's a long process or something.
06:46So I think free entry, if you have free entry, if you have a film buff,
06:52or you want to watch a film, or you want to watch a film,
06:55or you want to watch a film, or you want to watch a film,
06:56you want to get access to them.
06:57That's a great idea.
06:59And I appreciate it.
07:01It's a lot of time, when you're a film festival.
07:02What should you do at this film festival?
07:06What should you do at this film festival?
07:06How much is it?
07:07It's a lot of time.
07:08Because I think cinema is not only for entertainment.
07:11It also reflects society.
07:13The makers of their thinking, reflect what's happening in society.
07:19It has soft power.
07:21So I think, as much as a film festival, the audience will look at it.
07:26Whatever it is.
07:27I think it's important as a society.
07:29We have constant dialogue.
07:31And I'm very, very happy to be here.
07:33My heartiest congratulations to the Chief Minister of Delhi,
07:38and the Government of Delhi.
07:40They have created such a huge platform for filmmakers.
07:44Cinema today is gone international.
07:47Indian cinema is beyond all the boundary lines, what we have.
07:50And it's nice to see that people, world over, are coming to India,
07:53and looking at Indian films, and saying that what more they can learn from us.
07:57So it's not a give and take policy, but I think it's a very, very friendly atmosphere,
08:01where we learn from each other.
08:03And we all belong to the same fraternity of, I say that it's the same family, rather, filmmaking.
08:08So it's great to see that how much we get to learn from each other.
08:12And it's a wonderful opportunity for all of us.
08:15Gurinder, you've worked with Ranbir, and Ranbir is doing very well.
08:19What do you have to say about that?
08:20Well, I have seen him closely, you know, performing,
08:24and every time I was that man on screen, it's always surprising.
08:28When I watched Gurinder, both the parts, I was still surprised with his,
08:31the process, the depth, you know, the nuances, you know, the aggression.
08:36And even though I know him so closely, it's always surprising.
08:39And that's the mark of a true actor.
08:41We are having a pre-screening of Gurinder to hear.
08:44Oh, wow.
08:45How do you think this will benefit all the independent filmmakers,
08:49or all the audiences that are coming here?
08:52I think...
08:53You know, in the cinema, you don't have to watch it.
08:56I think you need to watch it in the cinema.
08:57And if you want to watch it in the cinema,
08:59then tell me that I'm sitting here.
09:01That's the first time it's happening in Delhi,
09:04so what do you want to say?
09:08It's a very good initiative.
09:10It's a very good thing that's happening.
09:11Everyone should get the opportunity,
09:14who live in Delhi,
09:15and who live in Delhi.
09:17And the industry is not only in Mumbai.
09:20The entire India should expand slowly.
09:22So I think it's a very good initiative.
09:24It's a very good campaign,
09:29and I think it's a very good campaign.
09:30It's a very good campaign.
09:31So I don't like those.
09:35Everyone.
09:38You know what I'm looking for?
09:39You know that I'm standing here right now,
09:40and I'll show you what I'm looking for.
09:40It's not bad.
09:45I'm trying to be mental.
09:47But I'm Miz.
09:48You know what I'm looking for,
09:50and you know what it is.
09:50I'm looking for,
