00:00As someone who spends a good chunk of their time watching television, I am
00:03always looking for those standout moments. The kinds of scenes that make me
00:07stop in my tracks and say, I'm gonna be thinking about this for a while. And I
00:11just had one of those moments in DTF St. Louis episode 4. Spoiler alert,
00:15obviously if you haven't watched it, go ahead and watch it. Come back to this
00:17video. The very beginning of the series they've been trying to show us and tell
00:21us that Floyd is a wonderful person. Gives his heart to something, he gives his
00:25soul to something, he gives it his all. Obviously that is clear in his
00:29friendship with Clark, that's clear in his marriage with Carol, and in his
00:33attempting to be a good stepdad to Richard. So watching this scene when he
00:38finally passes his physical is honestly a moment that I'm gonna be thinking about
00:43for a while. Because in the grand scheme of things it's pretty small. Physical is
00:48really not that big of a deal and honestly even to the doctor it's pretty
00:52insignificant, but to Floyd it means everything. It is this moment of
00:57personal triumph and victory and he plays it off so cool but he also is just so
01:03giddy and so excited and it just goes right back into this idea that he is this
01:08wonderful person who we're supposed to love and root for and also feel this deep
01:12sadness over the impending you know. I know that so many people who make it into
01:18their 80s and their 90s say that life is not just about celebrating the big things,
01:22it's about celebrating the small things. And this is a moment that to me felt like
01:26that and it's certainly the kind of moment that I'm gonna be thinking about
01:29not only in the months to come but certainly in the lead-up to the Emmys.
