00:03Hello everyone and welcome to an early look at gameplay in Monster Hunter Rise on Nintendo Switch.
00:10Monster Hunter Rise will take you to vast new locales where you can hunt a variety of unique monsters.
00:18Luckily, you will be equipped with various ways to explore your surroundings, find your prey and take it down.
00:27Let's introduce you to our new canine companion, the Palamute.
00:32With the help of these highly trained hounds, hunters can cover terrain faster than ever and even use items during
00:39their exploration.
00:41Hunters are able to boost stamina, sharpen weapons,
00:51and drink potions to stay prepared for the challenges ahead.
00:57Today, our hunt takes place in the Shrine Ruins, a once sacred land now overtaken by nature.
01:05The mountainous ranges lead to breathtaking vistas, but can prove to be quite the challenge to conquer.
01:14Thankfully, hunters are equipped with the new Wirebug.
01:17This trusty Wirebug will unlock a new layer of vertical mobility, allowing you to reach new heights and discover endemic
01:25life to help you on your hunt.
01:27Endemic life can be found by exploring the nooks and crannies of peaceful spots, or even amidst dangerous monster territory.
01:36Interacting with these living creatures will give hunters a variety of bonuses, such as increased stamina, defence, attack, helpful items,
01:46or additional Wirebug charges.
01:51With our hunter fully prepped and ready to battle, it's time to hunt down our target, the peculiar bird wyvern,
01:58Agnason.
02:00Upon finding our prey, the Palamutes quickly engage in battle and take the role of active fighters during the hunt.
02:08The Great Sword is a weighty weapon type, capable of delivering meaty chops to unsuspecting monsters.
02:15Great Sword wielders have to plan their attacks very carefully in order to take advantage of the weapon's devastating charged
02:23slashes.
02:29Hunters are prone to taking nooks, but with quick reflexes and a well-timed use of the wireful technique, they
02:35can jump right back into action.
02:38Thanks to the Wirebug, hunters are able to utilize these threads without a moment's hesitation to enhance their mobility on
02:45the hunt.
02:52With Agnason now enraged, its attacks are faster and deadlier than before. Our hunter needs to tread very carefully.
03:06Our hunter attempts to get the upper hand by utilizing a new Wirebug Great Sword move called Hunting Edge.
03:24With a tactical retreat and the use of a Mega Potion, our hunter escapes defeat by the skin of their
03:49The Tackle is a valuable asset in the Great Sword user's arsenal, allowing you to withstand fierce blows and access
03:56various combo routes, such as a short attack.
03:59This is a shortcut to the iconic True Charged Slash.
04:09Using the Wirebug, a hunter takes to the skies and harnesses gravity to deliver a powerful multi-hit attack, the
04:16Plunge-In Thrust.
04:21Each weapon type now has Wirebug-assisted moves added to their toolkits.
04:27However, careful management of their cooldowns is paramount.
04:32These newfangled abilities all rely on a shared pool of Wirebugs.
04:47And here, a hunter dodges Agnason's Fiery Assault with the Power Sheet.
04:52A swift evasive move that also boosts the hunter's attack power for a short period of time.
05:06Agnason is retreating to another area of the Shrine Ruins, so we'll wrap up our hunts here.
