00:34I remember taking this walk around New York City to my old neighborhood.
00:38Nothing I knew was there anymore.
00:40All of the people I had known had moved away.
00:44All of the stores were gone.
00:46The feeling was so unsettling,
00:48and I wanted to craft a story that would make Bruce Wayne feel the way I felt.
00:52The first time I read that story, I was just blown away
00:54because they were creating this really rich secret history of Gotham City,
00:58very plausible, believable,
00:59that was in direct opposition to Batman.
01:02I think probably inspiration for the Court of Owls originates from nature
01:06just by the real fact that the owl is a natural predator to the bat.
01:10What an owl does a lot of the time is it hunts you
01:12and it stalks you without you seeing it,
01:14and the fun of the way that the court goes after Bruce
01:16is to watch him from afar for years.
01:19Because it's been something that's been in Gotham for so long
01:22and been so powerful and right beneath Batman's nose,
01:25I think that's the root of the success there.
01:32One of the biggest challenges with bringing the Court of Owls
01:35from comic books to video games
01:37is really the interactive nature of what video games are.
01:40How do you take that history, how do you take this cool imagery
01:43and bring it to life in a game that's very satisfying?
01:46We could look at the source material, we could talk to the creators
01:49and we could ask their opinions about that.
01:51We could say, which of these elements do you think we can translate?
01:54When I went out there to see what they were doing with the game,
01:56I was blown away.
01:57I mean, it took what we had done with Court of Owls,
02:00but it just elevated it beyond a lot of the borders that we had had.
02:04You can't really rely on what you think you know about the court.
02:06we have expanded, we have added to it.
02:09There are different varieties of Talons in Gotham Knights.
02:13And as the players begin to understand through gameplay
02:16the unique strengths and vulnerability of the talent,
02:19it will affect how they equip themselves
02:22and how they unlock new abilities.
02:25So like any good RPG, we're presenting you with a problem
02:27and then we're presenting you with a range of potential solutions
02:30and players will have an opportunity to kind of maximize that
02:34according to their own style.
02:37The entire team has worked so hard on this
02:39and put so much love and dedication into this
02:42and I really hope it comes through
02:43and it gives them a really enjoyable experience.
