00:00Is there a song that you're most looking forward to performing live for fans and maybe one you're
00:05most worried about? I mean, it's getting back to the songs that just make the whole room go
00:10electric. And you know, don't you buttons when I grow up. There's so many. We've got a lot of
00:17bangers. This is your odyssey check-in. We are here at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York with
00:24the Pussycat Dolls. Back like you never left. It is awesome. It's so good to see you. There's
00:31so much to talk about. The new song, the tour. Let's start with the tour. Now, are there
00:38new fears, new concerns hitting the road today versus, you know, way back when I know, you
00:47know, there's parenthood, there's new jobs and stuff. So what are you feeling? When you
00:52say fear, I think of my knees, my neck, my lower back. Ladies? Yeah. Same, Chica.
01:02For me, I am just so excited to get back out there. And the excitement is overrunning everything
01:08at the minute. But the fear comes in place of just trying to get the balance right. Trying
01:13to keep the mindfulness strong. Trying to make sure I'm there for the kids and they know
01:17that mommy's still in their lives and taking them with me as much as possible. Just getting
01:22that balance. Yeah. And I think enjoying it a bit more. Like, you know, last time, well,
01:28gosh, we did, we tried to do it six years ago, but Miss Rona accidentally came in and
01:32knocked out our plants. Cursor. Yeah. But 20 years ago, you know, everything was happening
01:37so fast and we were, our schedule was nuts. Yeah. And it will be so nice this time around
01:42to, to share the stage with these gorgeous, fabulous women. And then also just soak, soak
01:48up every moment, be present and enjoy it a bit more. Did you forget your songs? Did
01:52you have to reintroduce yourself to the lyrics or like riding a bike? Oh, you did? You
01:58did? Okay. In some ways. I mean, you know, it's always in there, but like the great thing
02:03about TikTok and this younger generation is they're still, you know, recreating fun things
02:07to our songs, but sometimes things will come up and I'm like, wait, was that us? Did we
02:12say that? What was it? I don't know. I feel like I need reminding a little bit. Remember
02:16when we all got together right before Miss Rona and the music started playing? I'll never
02:21forget this. We hadn't been in the same room together for quite some time. And the, like
02:25the second, like, don't you started happening and we all were like, okay, okay, wait, it's
02:29in the body. It's in there somewhere, right? That's right.
02:32You felt yourself, you know, being reborn again in that moment. That's funny. Is there
02:39a song from, you know, 20 years ago or whatever that when it came out, you weren't necessarily
02:44in love with it, you didn't like it, but now looking back on it, you're fond of it?
02:49Don't you? I, I wasn't as partial to it in the very beginning. But then obviously it's
02:56my favorite, my favorite song now. So yeah, that's a hard question.
03:00You were saying Elevator early as well, right? I really love our song Elevator. Yes, you
03:06probably don't know the song. No, hit me with the deep cuts. That's what I want. Yeah,
03:10yeah, yeah. Yeah. Because she was saying earlier that like that was a song that wasn't a single,
03:15but that totally now she's like, yeah, that was actually a really good song. Totally. Is
03:20there a song that you're most looking forward to performing live for fans and maybe one you're
03:25most worried about? I mean, it's getting back to the songs that just make the whole room go
03:30electric. Yeah, yeah. And you know, don't you? Buttons, when I grow up. There's so many.
03:34Yeah. We've got a lot of bangers. Yeah. And you know, as we've been discussing, React really never
03:41got its chance to shine. So to be able to finally reintroduce that to the world properly is so
03:46exciting. Club song and the launch of club song is already feeling so electric and seeing everybody
03:52do the dance and get excited about it. Like, I just can't wait to see the music take over those
03:58rooms. And you know, club song, I'm glad you brought it up. Let's talk about it. It's so
04:02much fun and people are excited about it. So why are you not giving us a full album? Like
04:08is it? Do you just feel like people aren't listening to music like that? Is a two or a single
04:13and us
04:14coming back together not enough? No, I think the whole album, like, what's up? Are we only getting
04:18a few singles or like what? What's the hesitation with that? Well, the landscape of music is so
04:24different. And it's a lot to get the train on the tracks with the Pussycat Dolls. So
04:28the fact that we have all this momentum now, you never know what's going to come next. But
04:33right now, we're just living in this moment and seeing the excitement kind of helps your
04:37endeavor. Well, we're all ready for it. So I'm just saying like, you know, if you want
04:41to go forward with it, we would be happy. We'll take that out. We'll accept that. We'll accept
04:45that out. Pay attention though, because you never know, we might come hit you with some surprises.
04:48Cool. Let's do it. Let's do it. So from when you were first starting to now,
04:54how has your view, your relationship with mental health changed?
05:00It exists. Yes. You know, it didn't back then. Right. That's the thing. Like there's so much
05:07more awareness and God, I felt I was a little lost soul back then looking for the dream and
05:13doing anything and sacrificing to just make that dream come true. But man, when you dreams come true
05:19and you realize there's a lot of inner work that still needs to be done, that is an endeavor worth
05:24taking. Yeah. And I think we've all been on such a journey to finally arrive here. And what makes
05:29this so special is to have those experiences, be women, know our value, own our power and be able to
05:36show up. It's like, I know these girls, but we're showing up with so much work that has been done.
05:41And that is a much different showing up. I love that. I love that. And it feels like,
05:47you know, like you said that you're, um, just enjoying it more and, and putting less stress
05:53on yourselves maybe. Yeah, I think that. And like Kim has said, like, we've just been putting in so
05:58much work. We've all been through our own individual lives and paths and struggles and triumphs and all
06:03of that. And we're coming back now together, I think stronger than ever. And like making sure that we
06:09check in with ourselves and check in with each other. And now I forgot what the question was.
06:14I was on a tangent and I'm like,
06:24my brains were on a different time zone now. Um, what? Yeah. What was the question? Just your
06:29relationship with mental health now and how it's benefiting you. And maybe you wished you had
06:34those tools when you were first getting started, you know? I mean, dancing in general and moving
06:39your body and music is therapy, right? It's medicine. Yeah. Um, but as we got fitness through
06:44the power of dance. Yes. And once cut maybe dance, at least for me and my life wasn't happening as
06:51much. I felt like a bit of my, my soul was, was sad. And I've been able to find breath
06:56work over
06:57the last 10 years that I've been doing as a practice, a daily practice that I show up for myself
07:02that hopefully then I show up in the world, um, a better version of myself because of these
07:08practices. And that's because of also going through what we've gone through and realizing,
07:13okay, sometimes this could have a little support, some little tools in that toolbox to show up in
07:18this crazy life we live in. Uh, I asked this question to Pink and I would love to get your
07:23take on it too.
07:24Um, I'm just wondering how you feel. Um, has the industry gotten, uh, kinder, more fair to women
07:32you think today versus when you were entering into the industry?
07:40Nicole spill. I'll let you answer that.
07:45You know, in some ways it has the fact that we came from a three 60 deal and, uh, it
07:53was very
07:53difficult in the beginning. You know, I think, um, there's so much more of a space for you to find
08:00yourself and to be seen and to create your own, um, momentum to get your music out there or to
08:08get
08:08your visuals, to get whatever your dream is, to get it out there. I think there's a lot more spaces
08:12for that, but at the same time with all those spaces, it is watered down. And I think it's really
08:17difficult to get something, you know, from way back when we had a whole machine behind us.
08:22Yeah. And I think that for a lot of artists these days, it's really hard to get that machine behind
08:27you to get your music out at such a level. So I think it's kind of a double-edged sword
08:31in some
08:31ways. Sure. It is quite magical that it is, um, international women's month and we are coming
08:37together. Pussy power. Absolutely. Proud pussy power. Pussy power. And before we wrap, Nicole, I'm going to
08:45kind of put you in the hot seat. I'm going to put you in the hot seat and I'm not
08:52going to take no
08:52for an answer. You, you have, uh, judged so many shows, right? So look, if you were going to start
08:59a record label today, I need, give me like three acts that have always been burned into your brain
09:07over the years. Not, not artists that went on to win, but three that you would immediately scoop up.
09:12Oh my God. You have to do it. Take your time. You got all day. Yeah. I was like, I
09:17want to know.
09:18Well, one direction.
09:23Um, one direction. Well, James one, James Arthur one, Ella Henderson. She's winning at life. She's
09:35amazing. She is so lovely. Beautiful. My goodness. Talented, humble. Yes.
09:42Yes. Stunning voice. Yeah. Um, and oh gosh, I don't know. I need, I need help. One more. Take
09:48your time. No one help her. Oh my gosh. You guys need to help me. I have such a bad
09:56memory.
09:57Uh, you know what? I know what? You know who I'd say my sweet James Arthur one that year,
10:04but I really loved John Maine Douglas. He's like an angel and he has a beautiful, beautiful voice.
10:11So I'll, I'll say John Maine. That's a good top three. See, it wasn't that bad.
10:14It wasn't that bad. Uh, you are lovely. Uh, congratulations on the song on the tour.
10:19It is wonderful. We are all so thankful you stopped by.
10:22Oh, thanks for having us.
