00:01Hello, I'm Tsunekazu Ishihara from the Pokémon Company.
00:07Pokémon Café Mix was just released today.
00:12I hope you're all enjoying it.
00:16Today, I would like to tell you about a new project we have been working on.
00:23To begin, please take a look at this video.
00:36We'll be right back.
01:24I'm happy to announce the first strategic team-based Pokémon battle game,
01:28Pokémon Unite.
01:30We have partnered with Tencent to develop this game,
01:34and I would like to invite Stephen Ma from Tencent to tell you more.
01:38Stephen, it's all yours.
01:44Mr. Ishihara, thank you for the kind introduction.
01:47Hello, everyone.
01:48I'm Stephen Ma from Tencent.
01:50As a Pokémon fan myself, I'm really happy to be able to announce this project.
01:55The Unite in Pokémon Unite represents the gameplay concept of players coming together with a shared goal.
02:02Through our shared pursuit of innovative gameplay and quality,
02:05Tencent and the Pokémon Company have united with the goal of creating a new game that could be enjoyed by
02:11all.
02:12At Tencent Games, we are committed to our search for undiscovered potential in game development,
02:16and this also holds true in our partnership with the Pokémon Company.
02:21This is why we have assigned Timmy Studios, a team with 11 years of game development experience
02:26that has worked on many hit titles, to this project.
02:28I am confident that this collaboration between Timmy Studios and the Pokémon Company
02:33is sure to spark new creativity and bring about all new gameplay experiences
02:38that will surprise and delight all players.
02:40Thank you.
02:43Stephen, thank you very much.
02:45The development concept behind Pokémon Unite was to create a cooperative Pokémon game
02:51that anyone could pick up and enjoy immediately,
02:54but also has a lot of depth to be played over and over again.
02:58Tencent Games' Timmy Studios specializes in team-based battle games,
03:03and we have fused that with Pokémon to create an all-new experience in Pokémon Unite.
03:08Next, I would like to have the producer of Pokémon Unite, Mr. Hoshino,
03:12show more of the game to you all.
03:15I'm Masaaki Hoshino from the Pokémon Company, producer of Pokémon Unite.
03:21Allow me to go over some of the basics.
03:23The biggest defining trait of the game is its real-time team battles,
03:27featuring the most Pokémon seen in a single battle yet,
03:30with two teams of five Pokémon each.
03:34players team up and cooperate together to defeat the opposing team.
03:40This is the layout of the battle arena.
03:43Your team's side is on the left, while your opponent's side is on the right.
03:50On each team's side, there are a total of five goals, or scoring areas.
03:59The goal of the game is to score more points than your opponent's within the time limit.
04:11The Pokémon you control begins each battle at level 1.
04:15By defeating wild Pokémon in the field,
04:18your Pokémon will increase in level, and even evolve,
04:23as well as learn new moves.
04:26You get to choose which moves your Pokémon learns as it levels up,
04:31focus on close-range attacks,
04:34or choose to optimize for long-range capabilities.
04:38Even with the same Pokémon, you can choose how you want to battle.
04:42Once you reach a high enough level,
04:44you can unlock moves unique to this game called Unite Moves.
04:48Some can deal a lot of damage to multiple opponents at once.
04:51Each Pokémon has a different Unite Move with powerful effects.
04:55Choosing when to use your Unite Move,
04:58and attempting to read when the opponent will use theirs,
05:00is part of the excitement of the match.
05:03Use tactics like surrounding opponents that approach your base,
05:06or sneaking around back to the opponent's side's goal to score
05:09while a teammate has the opponent's attention.
05:12Teamwork is very important in order to defeat your opponents.
05:19To make it easier for players to enjoy battling with others in Pokémon Unite,
05:24we will be releasing it as a free-to-start game
05:27for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
05:30The game will also support cross-platform play.
05:35I hope you will look forward to the release of Pokémon Unite.
05:41Since this is the first strategic team-based Pokémon battle game,
05:46I imagine some of you may be wondering how the game will actually play.
05:50Well, I'd like to show you some gameplay with 10 players.
05:56Here is the group who will be joining my team.
06:23And here are our opponents.
06:35I'm going to focus on playing,
06:37so I'll turn it over to our two commentators.
06:42I'm Corey, and I'll be your commentator for today's match.
06:47And I have the producer of the game, Mr. Hoshino, here, too,
06:50to provide commentary.
06:52Thanks. I'm happy to join you.
06:54And with that, let's get the match started.
07:00Now our players are choosing their Pokémon.
07:10While there are no type advantages in Pokémon Unite,
07:12each Pokémon has different traits and abilities,
07:14so your choice is important.
07:17Both teams have locked in their Pokémon picks.
07:27The battle begins as all of the Pokémon rush out
07:30from the starting area.
07:40As we can see,
07:41our players are catching lots of wild Pokémon.
07:47And we have our first score of the game.
07:56Mr. Ishihara's Squirtle has evolved into a Wartortle.
08:01His HP is running very low.
08:05If you retreat to a goal on your side,
08:07you can recover your HP.
08:10Talonflame has its sights on Pikachu.
08:14Pikachu couldn't get away,
08:16and Talonflame got the KO.
08:20Even if your Pokémon is knocked out,
08:22it will recover after a brief amount of time.
08:30If you get attacked while trying to score,
08:33you will be interrupted.
08:41What an amazing play.
08:43They expertly surrounded their opponents.
08:54And with that score,
08:56the goal was destroyed.
08:58With the goal destroyed,
09:00the opponents have fewer healing spots.
09:05And here comes a Unite move.
09:08Talonflame is knocked out,
09:09and Charizard unleashes a Fire Blast.
09:14By the way,
09:16we got 70 points.
09:1870 points?
09:19But it's at least!
09:21What?
09:21Come on up,
09:22we're approaching the end of the match,
09:26with Team Ishihara in the lead.
09:29All points scored in the final two minutes are double.
09:31There's no telling who will end up winning this match.
09:34Matsumaru has a lot of points saved up,
09:36E' sentito il Charizard in per un gioco.
09:38E' un gioco grande gioco per il team.
09:41Questo può decidere il match.
09:43Nel l'ultimo del match,
09:44vediamo Isshihara e il team
09:45approcci il gioco per il gioco.
09:47E qui è Snorlax con un'unite move
09:49e Blastoise!
09:50Unleashing un'unite move di loro.
09:51Sono un'unite che è un'unite!
09:53Il Venusaur è un'unite!
09:54Solo 10 secondi per il gioco.
09:56Puoi Team Isshihara?
09:59Puoi?
10:01Oh, è so gross!
10:08And that's the game!
10:11Mr. Isshihara's team are the winners!
10:17I didn't know who was going to win
10:19right up until the very end.
10:21What a thrilling battle.
10:24As you can see,
10:25it took a lot of teamwork
10:26to emerge victorious.
