00:00Rated M for Mature.
00:31You will also get to experience the origin story of John Cooper and the rest of his game.
00:37Now, let me make the introductions.
00:40The leader of the group is Cooper, a drifter and gunslinger who can kill quietly with a knife or take
00:46out multiple foes with his two revolvers.
00:49Strongman Hector carries a giant bear trap and can slay the toughest opponents with his trusty axe.
00:57Doc McCoy, cold-blooded bounty hunter, likes to be methodical using lures, knockout gas and his bunt line special to
01:05take out his enemies from a distance without making much noise.
01:10Kate can fool the enemy with the right outfit and kill discreetly with her hidden gun.
01:19Isabel uses jinxes and poison darts to manipulate and control the enemy's minds.
01:24And there are a lot of enemies.
01:27In Desperados 3, you are always outnumbered.
01:31But you will quickly learn to read situations.
01:34By displaying the view cone of your enemy, you can check precisely what they can see.
01:38By crouching, the dark area can be passed through safely.
01:42But if you stand up or enter the bright area of the view cone, the enemy will start to detect
01:47you.
01:48The view cone will then fill up with yellow.
01:51If you manage to escape in time, they won't see you and everything will be fine.
01:56But when the view cone turns red, things will get hot.
01:59The enemy will call for help, triggering the alarm, which means everybody in the area will start hunting you.
02:05And as if this wasn't enough, the alarm also triggers reinforcements who will come rushing out of guard houses.
02:13If you manage to hide from the hunting party, the search will stop after a while.
02:17But the reinforcements will stay and patrol the area.
02:21In Desperados 3, you have to think before you act.
02:24Simply running blindly into situations won't get you far.
02:28This is why quick saving and quick loading is an essential part of the gameplay.
02:37It gives you the opportunity to try out different strategies when approaching the enemy.
02:44But now, let's see how we can use our gang's skills to show the enemy who's boss.
02:50Whenever you encounter a new group of bad guys, placing your gang in safe observation spots saves you from being
02:56surprised by patrols.
02:58You will quickly get a sense of blind spots or weaknesses in their routine.
03:03There are always a multitude of options for how to use different skills, allowing you to take out the enemy
03:08one by one.
03:09A very simple example would be Cooper's point distraction trick that allows Doc to make that guard disappear.
03:17After you take out a guard, don't forget to hide the body.
03:20Dead or tied up enemies will also trigger the alarm if they are found by their buddies.
03:26There are many ways to get rid of your victims, like dragging them into bushes, throwing them down cliffs, leaving
03:32them in shallow water, or hiding them in a wardrobe.
03:36Any trouble?
03:37Nope, nothing.
03:41Most of your enemies are not stupid though.
03:44Patrols will start looking for missing friends.
03:47Are you hiding from me?
03:48Poncho guards are smarter and more disciplined, so they cannot be fooled that easily.
03:54Guard dogs may have a shorter view cone, but they will sniff you out even in the best hiding places.
03:59And the elite long coats only fall victim to the most sophisticated plans.
04:03Or Hector's huge axe.
04:06Another great way to take out your enemies without raising the alarm is to utilize environmental hazards.
04:12Smash your enemies with a loaded crane.
04:15Make them jump on the love train.
04:17Or give them a free ride in a mine cart.
04:20If an enemy gets killed by accident while his friends are watching, they won't raise the alarm, since they don't
04:27suspect that you caused it.
04:29You can also choose to go full stealth, and succeed without killing anyone at all.
04:34By using your knockout and tieup skills, you can complete most missions without a single murder.
04:40But if you decide to permanently rid a whole town of bad guys, that's fine too.
04:45Should you run out of patience with one of the more brutal puzzles, you can turn the game into a
04:50tactical shooter.
04:51If you play it smart, you can get loud and use your guns to fight your enemies.
04:55Just make sure you keep an eye on your ammunition and the cooldown time of your skills.
05:01And there's one more thing you'll need.
05:03When you activate showdown mode, the whole game pauses.
05:07This gives you time to react if something didn't go as planned.
05:10Showdown mode is your best friend if you want to get everything out of Desperados 3.
05:15Instead of loading a save game, you now have the means to get through hairy situations, even when the alarm
05:22has already been raised.
05:25And if you think pausing the game is too lily-livered for you, you can turn it off in the
05:30options menu.
05:31More often, you will use showdown mode for planning complex actions.
05:35You can give each of your gang members a distinct command, which they will then execute simultaneously.
05:41This gives you the opportunity to take down multiple enemies at once, even when they watch each other closely.
05:47That said, you can also use showdown mode to elevate your gun skills to the next level.
05:53Here, you can combine the pause feature with the planning feature so you can play out tactical shootouts.
06:01Coordinate your attacks, draw attention away from your friends, and play cat and mouse while your guns reload.
06:08Whatever your approach is, just make sure that in the end, no enemy is left to tell anyone what hit
06:13them.
06:15Desperados 3 launches on June 16, 2020, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
06:22We'll see you then.
06:25We'll see you then.
06:29We'll see you then!
