Even Oil States Know EVs Are Inevitable - UAE Opens HUGE Fast-Charging Highway

Even oil-rich states are preparing for an electric future as the UAE opens a massive fast-charging highway to support long-distance EV travel. The project signals that EV adoption is no longer ideological but inevitable, driven by infrastructure, economics, and long-term energy strategy.

00:00you know a lot of australians say that electric cars are not the future that they're a fad
00:04i'm sure you've seen it a fad they say and that eventually we'll all get over this stupid fad and
00:11move on move back to what we should be doing which is paying oil companies for their gasoline
00:18and their diesel because this is what smart people do i kid you not this is what a lot of
00:26people say
00:26they say you're anyone who drives an ev is an idiot and i actually have faced some people like
00:33this in in person and online however interestingly even the countries that are selling us the oil
00:43don't believe that oil is the future of anything really other than for maybe making plastics
00:50hello my friends welcome to the channel thank you for supporting us if you can support us as a
00:56youtube member that'd be great i'll put a link in the description below the reason is because it
00:59helps me to continue making these videos even oil states know evs are the future the uae has opened
01:06a 60 stall ev hub reports electric middle eastern petro states aren't known for betting against an
01:13ever-increasing demand for oil but the uae does have a reputation for being able to read the room
01:19now electric says that so when a massive and highly visible dc fast charging hub opens on a key uae
01:27highway it looks less like a pilot project and more like a clear signal that evs are here to stay
01:33not just here to stay but i mean to take over and remember as well who has propped up lucid
01:39given
01:39them billions and billions and billions of dollars and now owns about 60 percent of lucid
01:43yeah it's saudi arabia right built by local convenience store chain adnoc or adnoc distribution
01:51and situated on a key stretch of highway connecting the united arab emirates and dubai the 60 stall
01:58i've never i don't think i've maybe i saw one in california but there can't be many 60 stall
02:06charges right 60 dc charges at this station and this is part of adnoc's plan to electrify nearly
02:14all of the uae's highway network by the end of 2027 the inauguration of adnoc distribution's ev
02:23mega hub is a significant step in implementing the uae's national electric vehicles policy said his
02:28excellency's engineer sharif al-olama this guy is the undersecretary for energy and petroleum affairs
02:38of the uae's ministry of energy and infrastructure and interestingly it appears to me as though the uae
02:43is promoting the fact that they are building out ev charges this hub stands out for its strategic
02:50location said the minister on the e11 highway one of the country's most vital corridors expanding the
02:56high-speed charging network is central to our strategy to cut energy consumption in transport
03:01and drive the global ev market initiative which aims to see electric vehicles represent 50 of all cars
03:06on uae roads by 2050 now if they're saying that only 50 of the cars on their roads in 2050
03:16will be
03:16electric maybe that's how toyota will stay in business by selling you the uae petrol-powered cars
03:23in 2050 or maybe they're just saying the fleet you know it's going to take a while to replace the
03:29fleet
03:29if you'd like to book a paid consultation uh you can do so and i'll put a link in the
03:35description below
03:35if you want advice on what electric car to buy solar systems all that kind of stuff you can do
03:41that
03:41that could be what they're saying so adnoc has more than 500 gas stations in the uae and they are
03:48building out
03:49well apparently they're not they now have 370 ev charges but they're planning on building out
03:53hundreds more so maybe the next time your bogan friend or someone you know tells you that electric
04:01cars are a fad tell them well even oil states would disagree with you thanks for watching guys if you
04:10want to install solar panels a home battery or a home charger the best way to do this for your
04:17situation
04:18is to go to the links in the description below and they'll take you to a page where you can
04:26compare
04:26everyone so depending on where you it doesn't matter where you live a lot of people email me all
04:29the time saying well what solar system should i get who should i go with what battery should i get
04:33what
04:33electric charges should i get well click in the links in the description and you can actually compare
04:39all the different choices and find the best deal for you i'll put that link in the description below
04:47additionally there is a battery savings calculator link and also a federal battery rebate calculator
04:54i personally have found that i'm not paying for electricity at all and that's including
05:00charging my two electric cars and also running my home power my home sauna nothing not paying anything
05:07at all and i think a lot of people are getting misled they think that getting a battery is not
05:10worth it
05:11actually i think it is worth it so those links are in the description below
05:18byd is going to build the world's biggest battery in the world's biggest desert now it's not the
05:25world's biggest desert but it's certainly one of them it's going to be built in saudi arabia
05:31hello my friends welcome to the channel i'm sam evans you're watching the electric viking great to have
05:36you with us saudi arabia is going green in fact the middle east is building out more renewables
05:43than any kind any other area in the world except china they're even doing it at a far faster pace
05:50than either australia or the united states or germany or well anywhere saudi arabia likes massive
05:58massive architecture likes building the biggest buildings it likes to go all in
06:04on well it's just built um just actually in the process of building a grid that can run 24 hours
06:11a day on solar and batteries alone we're talking about the first of its kind ever in the world
06:18saudi arabia has now signed a deal with byd to build the world's biggest ever battery storage project
06:25the deal is for five lithium-ion phosphate batteries will which will each be 500 megawatts
06:31slash 2500 megawatts for a total of 2.5 gigawatts slash 12.5 gigawatt hours this isn't only the
06:41biggest battery in the world this is the biggest battery in the world by an order of magnitude i mean
06:46the next biggest battery in the world is less than 50 smaller this is utterly insane a battery this size
06:55could really potentially run all of australia right if you split it up into separate pieces and put it
07:01around australia it could run a lot in the basically the entire country with the amount of solar we have
07:05here we have four million households that have solar on their roofs add to all that all the solar farms
07:10and
07:10everything else and the existing wind we have i mean we wouldn't really need coal anymore that's how big
07:15this battery is the five-site deal for five five-hour batteries was foreshadowed in january when chinese
07:23media broke the news that bill would have won a tender that had been announced actually back in
07:28august bill will handle all aspects of delivery and installation at sites reported to be in demand
07:33centers of riad and four other places for basically five different cities in saudi arabia so this isn't
07:40actually one battery it's one battery kind of connected interconnected to four other batteries so
07:45it's a total of five different batteries which will be connected together these batteries will all act
07:50as grid stabilizers and of course be charged during the day by massive solar farms the battery
07:57user is using new mc cube t technology launched in april last year and this is used what's known as
08:05a cts
08:05or cell to system technology which similar to cell to body technology which is using electric cars
08:11so like structural battery technology
