00:00This morning, the New York Times reported that Donald Trump, who constantly complains about
00:04vote-by-mail, who says it's rife with fraud, used vote-by-mail himself in a special election
00:12in Florida. Can you believe it? According to Donald Trump, vote-by-mail is cheating when
00:19other people use it, but perfectly fine when he does it himself. What a hypocrite this man is.
00:24What a hypocrite. Maybe Donald Trump should ask for another amendment to the SAVE Act to
00:30create a presidential exception for mail-in ballots, because apparently his own rules do
00:36not apply to him. And of course, the White House is now offering ridiculous excuses, saying
00:42the president's a busy man. He obviously lives in the White House. This is all nonsense.
00:47A single mom with three kids and two jobs is just as busy as Donald Trump.
00:53And he's doing everything he can to stop her from voting while voting-by-mail himself, because
01:00he's busy. Donald Trump goes to Mar-a-Lago almost every weekend. His polling location is less
01:06than 15 minutes away by car. If he wanted to vote in person, he easily could have. His decision
01:12to vote-by-mail shows just how hypocritical Donald Trump is about fraud and cheating. That's
01:21who he is, I'm afraid. And that tells you everything. It shows not only Donald Trump's hypocrisy,
01:29but the complete baselessness of his claims about voter fraud. It shows that the whole point of
01:34pushing this bill is to make it harder for people to cast a ballot. And as I mentioned at the
01:40beginning,
01:40the Thune amendment along those lines is just a cover-up to hide what the bill, the Save Act
01:47really does. The Overfield.
01:49The New York Times reported that Donald Trump, who constantly complains about vote-by-mail,

02:21for mail-in ballots, because apparently his own rules do not apply to him. And of course,
02:28the White House is now offering ridiculous excuses, saying the President's a busy man.
02:33He obviously lives in the White House. This is all nonsense. A single mom with three kids and two jobs

02:54His polling location is less than 15 minutes away by car. If he wanted to vote in person,
02:59he easily could have. His decision to vote by mail shows just how hypocritical Donald Trump is
03:06about fraud and cheating. That's who he is, I'm afraid. And that tells you everything.
03:15It shows not only Donald Trump's hypocrisy, but the complete baselessness of his claims about voter fraud.
03:22It shows that the whole point of pushing this bill is to make it harder for people to cast a
03:27ballot.
03:28And as I mentioned at the beginning, the Thune amendment along those lines is just a cover-up
03:33to hide what the bill, the SAVE Act really does.
03:37We yield the floor.
03:38Let's continue negotiations to reach an agreement to fund TSA, fund the Coast Guard and FEMA and SISA,
03:45and fund other critical agencies while at the same time securing real reforms to rain in ice.
03:53We had made some modest progress over the weekend before Donald Trump threw a temper tantrum yesterday,
03:59demanding that the SAVE Act be part of any deal to pay TSA workers.
04:05Attaching voter suppression to TSA paychecks was an outrageous demand from the start.
04:11Democrats knew it. Republicans knew it.
04:14And we wasted a day of negotiations because of Donald Trump's temper tantrum.
04:19A day may not seem like a lot to the President.
04:22But that's another day of TSA workers needlessly waiting for checks.
04:26Another day of travelers standing for hours at a time at security.
04:31Fortunately, it seems like things are getting back on track this morning.
04:35Donald Trump, perhaps realizing that Democrats will block voter suppression in the Senate,
04:40his SAVE Act, seems to have gotten over his temper tantrum.
04:44We hope for a little while. With him you never know.
04:48Republicans can hopefully now come back to the table and get serious about reaching a solution to pay TSA workers
04:55ASAP.
04:56We await to hear from them on a written proposal that we will review.
05:01Because right now the situation at our airports is untenable.
05:05TSA wait times in Houston reached six hours at one point over the weekend.
05:10And what does Donald Trump do?
05:12He sends ICE agents to the airports.
05:14ICE agents don't know the first thing about airport security.
05:18They weren't trained to screen travelers.
05:20They don't know the layout and protocols of airports they've been sent to.
05:24And it sounds like ICE agents aren't really doing anything once they get to the airport, many of them.
05:29They're just paid to stand around, posted by exits and baggage claims, just people watching.
05:36What's the point? What's the point?
05:39As Americans are waiting hours in line at the airport, they're asking each other,
05:44Why is Trump paying these ICE agents, who seem to have little to do, instead of using those dollars to
05:50pay TSA agents so the lines can go much more quickly?
05:54Americans waiting on line are asking those questions.
05:59Just because something popped into Donald Trump's head, put ICE agents at the airports, and his administration just says,
06:07Yes, sir, even though they know it's a ridiculous idea, doesn't mean we should continue it.
06:12We should have the TSA paid.
06:15Of course, perhaps it may not be that security is Donald Trump's main goal in sending ICE to the airports.
06:22Listen to this.
06:24Yesterday, in a podcast, former Trump advisor Steve Bannon said Trump should use these agents as, quote,
06:30a test run to really perfect ICE's involvement in the 2026 elections.
06:38Again, Bannon, Trump should use these agents as a test run, his words, to really perfect ICE's involvement in the
06:482026 elections.
06:50This is bone chilling.
06:53Steve Bannon is saying the quiet part out loud, calling ICE's deployment to airports a test run for the midterms.
07:00This is how authoritarians turn law enforcement into intimidation forces.
07:05This is why Democrats are so intent on reining ICE in.
07:11The disease of undermining elections is rampant in the right wing of the Republican Party,
07:16and it seems they'll use any means they can to achieve that goal.
07:20They know that Donald Trump and Republicans are in trouble this November,
07:24and they'll do whatever it takes, legal or not, to prevent a legitimate election.
07:30ICE needs to leave the airports now.
07:34Trump needs to pay TSA workers now and push Republicans to reach a deal.
07:40No intimidation forces at our airports.
07:45No more chaos at checkpoints.
07:47Enough is enough.
