Agatha and the Truth of Murder (2018) โ€“ The first in Channel 5's acclaimed series of fictional mysteries starring crime novelist Agatha Christie as the detective . In 1926, a real-life mystery gripped England: Agatha Christie (Ruth Bradley) disappeared for 11 days . This film offers a fictionalized explanation, imagining that during that time, she was enlisted by a friend to investigate a real murder . Florence Nightingale Shore, a decorated WWI nurse and goddaughter of Florence Nightingale, was brutally attacked on a train and died days later. The crime went unsolved, but the real Agatha Christie later drew inspiration from it for her novel The Mystery of the Blue Train . In this dramatization, a grieving and creatively blocked Agatha, amid the turmoil of her failing marriage, takes on the case, discovering a conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of society.
