00:35me today we have a very special guest, Darren McPherson. Darren, would you like to introduce yourself to our amazing
00:41fans?
00:41Yeah. Hi fans. I'm the producer for Gameplay. Here to talk about some really cool things.
00:46That's right. So, to that point, today's stream topic is all about loot, gear, and progression. It's been a really
00:53exciting journey, I think, going through all of these streams.
00:55We've talked about our world, my story. We've talked about javelins. We've talked about gear, weapons, and abilities outside of
01:03the streams.
01:04We talked about personalization two streams ago. But the one thing we really haven't got into is how does progression
01:10work? How does loot work? What are rarities? How do the stats work? Can I make builds and loadouts?
01:16Yep. And our goal today is to talk everyone through all of that stuff. Which is exciting.
01:21Let's do it.
01:22So, we're going to flip over to the game now and look at the forge. So, we've talked about this
01:29before. The forge is split into two core sections. We have loadouts and appearances.
01:34We often call that customization and personalization. So, personalization is about how you look, your appearance, and customization, or the
01:43loadouts, as you see in the UI here, is about your power.
01:48So, as we dive into this, Darren, can you just talk a little bit about what are the kind of
01:53UI elements we see here?
01:55And then after that, just the summary of progression.
01:58Yep. So, each javelin has five hardpoints or equipable slots that you're going to have. Those are broken up into
02:05different types. So, you've got, here you see weapons.
02:09The Colossus-specific heavy assault launcher. The Ranger has a different one. The Storm has a different one. So, they'll
02:16have different names.
02:17Ordnance launcher is his rear-mounted artillery components and support gear.
02:23Right. And so, in the past, we've talked about, you know, there are three gear pieces. So, here, it's kind
02:28of heavy assault launcher,
02:29Ordnance launcher, support gear. That would be the three for the Colossus.
02:32Right.
02:33You have two weapons. When we drill into the weapons, you'll see. And then components, which we haven't talked about
02:38yet, and we'll save that for a moment. We'll get there in a second.
02:41So, that's the construct for how you can equip things and do things with your character. But before we dive
02:47in, what's the, like, overall system? Like, you have a pilot, the pilot has levels,
02:53like, how do, what other parts are there to progress in your character as you play the game?
02:56Okay. So, you, just like a normal RPG, you have levels. Your pilot, in this case, it's not an EXO
03:02level, it's a pilot level.
03:03Right.
03:04So, as you progress in your pilot, you unlock certain things. Like, for instance, if I want a second weapon,
03:11I get that at four. So, I start with a single one, etc.
03:14These slots are unlocked, some of them relatively early in the game, and then as you play the game, you'll
03:23loot items.
03:25Yep.
03:25Those items have levels on them.
03:27Okay.
03:27Those items also have rarities. So, if you're familiar with other RPGs, there are generally common. So, we have common,
03:36we have uncommon, we have rare, and then we have epic. And then we have a couple that we'll talk
03:40about later.
03:41We'll talk about later, yeah. That make up, basically, our six rarity types.
03:45Awesome. So, you have a pilot level, and as you increase that, you get more powerful loot, and then rarity
03:53scales amongst those levels as well.
03:55Okay. Cool. So, that's the overview. Now we need to describe, well, how does this look like? So, we'll start
04:02pretty simply with an uncommon item. So, here we have the firewall mortar. Do you want to just explain what
04:08are we seeing here and what all these stats mean?
04:10So, we have our stat block. This, as it says, is a firewall mortar. So, it does fire damage. You
04:15can see here how the damage is fire.
04:18In a wall? Yeah. It lays a wall down.
04:21You can see that it's recharge time, and fire status. So, fire status is sort of a new stat for
04:30games like this, which is how quickly do you light someone on fire, in this case. Or, if it were
04:36ice status, how quickly do you freeze them, etc.
04:38Okay. So, this is a good little segue. So, that's important to our combo system.
04:43Yes. So, the idea here is that you would apply a status effect. Once you apply enough of it on
04:49a certain creature, it's now primed.
04:51Right. And then you could get a gear piece that's a detonator, and use that to do a combo. Is
04:56that right?
04:57So, yeah. So, we have things that apply an effect, and then things that will then create combos when that
05:03effect is there.
05:04Okay. So, this one puts effects on. Is there a right to tell that here?
05:08Yeah. So, if you look to the left of Firewall Mortar, the name, there's a little symbol there that happens
05:12to look like a flame, but that is our universal icon for this thing will add a status.
05:17effects. Right. Okay. Cool. And, you know, some things will build a lot slower than others. So, while most of
05:23the things that apply an element of ice or whatever will build up, some of them would take a long
05:28time to build up.
05:29Okay. Gotcha. Gotcha. Okay. But this one's really good at it. And then, so that's most of it. There's one
05:34little part here. Oh, every stream, Ben forgets the caveats.
05:39So, a couple of caveats. Why are there zeros in there, Ben? Aw, awkward. So, this is still a game
05:46we're working on. It's not finished. And in this build, we have a bunch of bugs.
05:50And so, one of the bugs we have here is all of the numbers for this next part are all
05:55zeros. Obviously, in the real game, they won't be zeros. In fact, most of the numbers here are a work
06:00in progress or have bugs to them.
06:01So, please don't read into any of the numbers here, the damage numbers, the fire status numbers, the percentages. The
06:06balance still continues, etc.
06:08That's all work in progress. So, with that being said, when you see 0% pickup radius, that's obviously not
06:15the actual number. Right. Not as good as you would want.
06:18Not as good as you would want. Okay. So, now that I remembered to do that thing I was meant
06:21to do at the very start, can you explain there is a thing here that says 0% pickup radius.
06:26Right. What is that?
06:26So, that's an inscription. Okay. So, each item that you get above common rarity, so uncommon and above, will have
06:32a number of inscriptions on them.
06:34These are stats that will have a random range of values. So, this could hypothetically be 5% to 10%.
06:42Right.
06:43You get this item and you get a 7% bonus. Okay, cool. That's good. There's over 100 actual different
06:51inscriptions you can get on an item,
06:54broken up into a few pools for us to organize and balance. So, on some of them, you're going to
07:00get extra damage stats.
07:01On some of them, you're going to get secondary utility, things like that.
07:05Yeah. So, just to clarify for everyone watching, that would mean every time you get a firewall mortar, it does
07:11the firewall.
07:11Yeah. That's the thing. It does damage. It applies status effects.
07:15But, if you get uncommon or higher, you get a random role. And those things would be different every time.
07:22Right. So, the core functionality is the same, but all the bonuses are different.
07:26Yeah. Is that right?
07:27Yep.
07:27Okay. So, we just covered a lot of stuff.
07:30Okay. We'll wait for the next section.
07:32Do we have any questions that have come in that are related to that?
07:37Okay. So, first question. Will we be able to craft legendary weapons and gear or are those specifically only available
07:46as loot drops in the world?
07:49Okay. So, we're going to touch on legendary weapons and gear a bit later. I think we can still answer
07:54the question though.
07:55Spoilers. Spoilers.
07:55Because replace that with epic. Can we get purple legendary weapons and gear?
08:02So, the primary means of gaining gear, weapons, components is randomly through killing creatures or defeating objectives, etc.
08:12Yep.
08:12So, you can eventually get some of the ability to get some recipes to craft some of these things.
08:18Crafting is a good supplement.
08:21Right.
08:21I didn't get the assault rifle I wanted, but maybe I got the recipe, then I can then craft that.
08:26Yep. Cool.
08:29I think you just kind of answered that question.
08:32The other question we just got here was, will loot be RNG based or will we have specific mission strongholds?
08:40Yeah.
08:41So, the answer to that question is just what you said, right?
08:44Like for the most part, you go out into the world and you get random loot.
08:47Yeah. Let me clarify one thing though.
08:49Based on your level, you will get more high chance for you to get a better rarity.
08:55Right.
08:56So, if I'm level 5, it's really hard for me to get an epic piece.
09:01It feasibly could happen.
09:02Right.
09:03But as I get closer to 20, that will start happening more frequently.
09:06Yeah.
09:06And then if you play harder difficulties, harder content, your chance of getting higher rarities will increase.
09:11Right.
09:11So, if I'm level 30, I'm in a dungeon, that's a really good chance for me to get epic drops,
09:18bigger, better loot.
09:20Okay.
09:21So, I just saw a question in chat come through that was, can we trade with other players?
09:26So, our answer to that is no.
09:27Like, we want this to be about the loot you go out and get yourself.
09:31Right.
09:31And again, if you end up in a situation where you don't get the things like, I really want an
09:37assault rifle and assault rifle never drops, then the thing you could do is, to your point, supplement with crafting.
09:42So, you could find a challenge that rewards an assault rifle blueprint, which is our recipes, and then get the
09:50materials and craft that if you really just wanted to have an assault rifle and you were getting unlucky for
09:54some reason and not getting your hands on one.
09:57Okay.
09:57So, that's a couple questions.
09:59We might get back into the explanation.
10:01So, we covered the Ordnance Launcher, which was a green uncommon piece.
10:05Yep.
10:05So, we're going to look at the heavy assault launcher now.
10:08Yep.
10:08So, we have our flamethrower.
10:09So, again, fire damage, this builds up fire status, and you see our inscriptions here.
10:18I have javelin heat damage, which affects all the heat or fire damage that I would do as a player.
10:23So, that's a really good role to have on this item.
10:27And then I get extra shock on ammo.
10:28Right.
10:29So, here, I think you might have mentioned it, but here we have two inscriptions and before we had one.
10:34Right.
10:34How does that work?
10:35Yeah.
10:35So, from uncommon to rare, you get an additional inscriptions.
10:40And that number grows up to four, well, up to four caveating later rarities.
10:47We'll get there.
10:47And all four would be random rolls from this giant list that are available.
10:51Random rolls from different pools.
10:51So, we, you know, as you get an item, you get a weapon at level 20, it'll have, it'll roll
10:58from a primary damage pool.
10:59So, that primary damage pool is what you, is going to increase your damage of some kind.
11:04Yep.
11:04As opposed to, sometimes I get, you know, something that isn't maybe as exciting like pickup radius, but it's still
11:10helpful.
11:11as opposed to, I got a really good one and I got, yeah.
11:14So, like flight time extensions.
11:16Right.
11:16Would that be in that pool?
11:17Yeah.
11:17And, you know, depending on your build, that's really, flight time extension, we'll see a little later, is super valuable.
11:21Yeah.
11:21Well, you might decide you want to do speedruns, so having a huge pickup radius is great, because you can
11:26go through and pick things up.
11:27Let me tell you, plenty of storm with big pickup radius is huge.
11:29Oh, good point.
11:30Good point.
11:31Okay.
11:32So, that covers off the assault launcher and kind of the rare items.
11:37I think we're going to look at an epic one, a purple one.
11:40So, I wanted to talk about this one.
11:42So, this is a common, this is the lowest rarity.
11:43And here on the side of the rail gun on the left side, you see the combo icon.
11:50So, each one of these.
11:50The primer, right?
11:51Right.
11:51Oh, the detonator, sorry.
11:52It's a detonator.
11:53So, each one of the things that does that, this detonates an explosive combo.
11:59So, if we had used our other piece to put a creature in fire status, you could use this for
12:05a combo effect.
12:05Right.
12:06And then, I don't think we should digress here, but then each of the suits have a different effect when
12:11they combo.
12:12Yep.
12:12We could cover it real quick, I guess.
12:14Yeah.
12:14So, the Colossus here has an explosive combo, so he does damage to the primary target that has been primed,
12:21and then AOE.
12:22AOE, yep.
12:22Right.
12:23The ranger does a high impact, single target damage, enormous amounts of damage.
12:28The storm, so the guy's frozen, and he hits him.
12:32He not only does damage to that guy, but he chains the ice to other people.
12:36Yep.
12:37And the interceptor is my favorite.
12:39You go in.
12:40You kind of have a favorite child, but continue.
12:41I can.
12:42I'm allowed to.
12:43They don't talk back to me.
12:44They don't get jealous.
12:45Well, they might.
12:46I don't know.
12:46But you hit that prime target with one of your combos, and now you are surrounded by an aura of
12:53that element.
12:54So, then I drag that around and freeze or apply acid to everybody else.
12:57Or you can apply that aura where you move.
12:58Yeah.
12:59So, there's a lot of depth there to the combo system, which maybe should be a turn through itself, but
13:03we covered a lot of the basics anyway.
13:06Okay.
13:06So, we've gone through that.
13:08Next, let's take a look at some epic stuff.
13:11So, we'll dive into the weapons really quick, which have a few different effects.
13:17So, here's our grenade launcher.
13:18Again, heavy weapon.
13:19Have we ever covered heavy weapons on these streams?
13:22No.
13:23Okay.
13:23So, we're doing it now.
13:25Okay, let's do this.
13:25So, this is a heavy weapon.
13:26Heavy weapons can only be used by the Colossus.
13:28Right.
13:28Which is cool.
13:29So, there's the grenade launcher and the autocannon.
13:32Big, massive.
13:33Only for the Colossus.
13:34Only for the Colossus.
13:36Here's a marksman.
13:37Again, you can be used by anybody.
13:39So, you can see it's damage.
13:41It's optimal range.
13:42That's where you're going to do the most damage.
13:43If it's farther than that, damage will be lower.
13:46And then, of course, it's got inscriptions.
13:47You now have the three inscriptions.
13:48Right.
13:49Okay.
13:50So, then the rest kind of is similar enough to that.
13:54The one thing, support gears, we don't need to probably go into, but the one thing we didn't really
13:59cover in the general of Anthem communication was components.
14:03Which is new.
14:04Which is kind of new to explain.
14:06So, again, this comes back to that notion that we've separated vanity and power, what we're calling personalization and customization.
14:13And so, in personalization, you pick the helmet you want to wear and the chest and the legs and the
14:18arms, for example.
14:20But there are no stats associated to it.
14:22And so, players have been asking, well, but isn't that kind of annoying?
14:27Because I like that I have stats there.
14:29And so, what we've done instead is have a series of components that bring that back.
14:33So, not only do they add stats to your suits, but they add other abilities.
14:37But why don't I hand over to you and you explain components and some of the things that they do.
14:43I agree with everyone saying those same things.
14:45Yeah.
14:46How do I customize my play style?
14:47Right.
14:48How do I customize what I do?
14:51How do I incentivize to go down a specific path and pursue a specific item, for instance?
14:56So, components are the answer to that.
14:59So, let me dive into these two on this one.
15:01There's many, many more that you can get.
15:05Components' primary purpose is to allow you to tailor and customize the play style that you want.
15:10Yep.
15:10So, what's an example of that?
15:11So, an example of this is right here.
15:12Perfect.
15:13All blast damage, which means explosions, there are things that aren't explosive that do blast damage.
15:17Yeah.
15:17So, we're very specific here, is increased.
15:20Now, obviously, percentage, no, zero percent isn't good.
15:23We have the bug in there.
15:24But if I wanted to focus on doing explosives, I would, maybe this is an item I would choose.
15:31These also have up to two inscriptions on them.
15:35Okay.
15:35So, the difference between this explosives expert and another one would be the inscriptions, could be the rarity.
15:43and the power level of it.
15:45And so, I think explosions is a good one.
15:48It's like more damage.
15:48What are other ones?
15:49Are there utility things to focus on?
15:52So, there are some utility things.
15:55I need more ammo in my...
15:57I've got an autocannon.
15:58I want more ammo.
15:59Right.
15:59You take the thing that gives you either more ammo for all your weapons,
16:04or there's a specific Colossus one that gives you more autocannon ammo,
16:07or more ammo for all of your weapons.
16:09One question we get asked a lot is,
16:11Hey, can...
16:12You know, flight's cool.
16:13I love flying.
16:14Will I be able to extend my flight time?
16:16Oh, yeah.
16:16Is this where you do that?
16:17So, you can do that in a couple ways.
16:19You can do it here.
16:21So, you get an inscription that gives you more thruster lifetime.
16:25Right.
16:25Or you get them...
16:27You get that, and if you roll really well, you get it also as your inscriptions.
16:31So, your inscriptions give you more thrusters.
16:32So, I can fly for a much longer time, or hover for a much longer time,
16:35if I choose to specialize in that.
16:37Yeah.
16:38And one little point, and then we're going to move on here.
16:41So, this is pretty complicated.
16:44And so, sometimes fear in talking through it, it's like,
16:48Hey, well, what if I just want to enjoy playing the game and equip stuff,
16:51versus being a min-max.
16:53Like, does this cater to both groups?
16:56Yeah, so it's, again, components are meant to allow you to very easily customize your play,
17:02and it's not very complicated.
17:04It can get complicated, but it's to what degree you want to participate in that.
17:08Right.
17:08If I want more, if I feel like I want more ammo, I'm going to equip the one that gives
17:11you more ammo.
17:11Let's put more ammo stuff on, yeah.
17:12If I happen to be using an assault rifle, because that was the latest drop that I got,
17:17and you have the component for assault rifle damage or assault rifle ammo, equip it.
17:22Yeah.
17:22So, they're pretty self-explanatory and easy.
17:23On the end, it's like, okay, if I have a specific group I want to play with,
17:27a specific comp, and I need to do things, I could get really deep in min-max.
17:30The second one, the overclock regulator, the second one you see here,
17:36and that has some obvious benefits to the, I both have my firewall mortar,
17:40I have electricity gear pieces that I can do as a classes.
17:43So, that's a pretty good item.
17:44Right.
17:45But when I combine that with other things that boost elemental damage,
17:49or that do elemental damage, then I begin to have some synergy with additional items.
17:54Got it.
17:55All right.
17:56So, I think we've covered this build a little bit.
17:59Okay.
17:59So, what we want to do next.
18:01So, first of all, let's see if we can get a couple questions as we're rolling into the next topic.
18:05But, Darren very kindly set up this Colossus loadout, and we were looking at it and was like,
18:10man, it would be cool to show like a high-end, like a really high-end loadout.
18:16And so, you made an extra loadout that is a masterwork loadout.
18:21An extra loadout, yeah.
18:21So, first let's talk about, we talked rarities up to Epic.
18:24There are two more.
18:25Do you want to explain what comes next?
18:26And then, at the same time, let's swap to the Ranger and see what you've put together for us.
18:31So, rarities beyond Epic are masterwork and legendary.
18:35Yep.
18:36So, a masterwork, let me go to here.
18:40I can't do, I can't speak.
18:42You can't do two things at once.
18:43Two things at once.
18:46So, a masterwork item is a higher rarity, higher power level than an Epic.
18:52And also, each one comes with a masterwork property.
18:56Okay.
18:56Some special thing that it does over and beyond what its normal things are.
19:00So, we looked at, we can look at the assault, like we look at our assault launcher.
19:08You can get a high explosive missile, I think it's called a blast missile in the game, at any rarity.
19:14But when you get the masterwork version, it comes with a new orange text.
19:19Right.
19:20So, this is an upgraded version of that, that when you defeat an enemy, an explosion happens, an electric explosion
19:28happens.
19:28Okay.
19:29So, you've got the special property, I then see you've got the four inscriptions.
19:34I've got four inscriptions.
19:34So, if I was to get another Argos Mace, the special property would be the same.
19:40Right.
19:40And then the four inscriptions would be different.
19:42Right.
19:42So, you might want to get multiple Argos Maces to get the perfect combination of inscriptions.
19:47Depending on how deep you want to go.
19:49Right.
19:49You'll make or collect as many as you can until you get, like, Javelin blast damage.
19:54That's good for me.
19:55Yeah, right.
19:55Because you want to make it blast damage.
19:56Because you want to make it blast damage.
19:57I want Thrust Your Life.
19:58So, you'll see, all of this leads to me getting a full build together.
20:04And then above masterworks is legendaries, which we don't have examples here today.
20:09Right.
20:09But do you want to explain?
20:10Yeah.
20:10So, take a masterwork item and give it a level upgrade.
20:15Same properties, but probably a deeper inscription pool.
20:20Yeah.
20:20Different inscriptions that it can pull from and more power.
20:23And more power.
20:23So, the same property.
20:24It's kind of the same, but more powerful version.
20:26Yeah.
20:26It's like the ultimate chase for the people who will play the game the most.
20:30Very hard to get.
20:30And do the hardest content.
20:32Right, exactly.
20:32And are the most dedicated.
20:33Okay.
20:33It's the big chase item in there.
20:35All right.
20:36Little, little breath here.
20:37We've got some questions that have banked off.
20:39Yeah, let's give a breather.
20:40Can you explain the gear score more?
20:43Yeah.
20:44So, each item that you have has a power.
20:46You see the power level.
20:48Those values added together form your gear score.
20:52We use that to say, this content is appropriate for someone of your level.
20:58Right.
20:58And so, you can see the top right.
21:00Al says legendary range.
21:01I think that's a bug.
21:02It probably should say masterwork range.
21:04That's correct.
21:04Because we're in masterwork.
21:05But then, so what?
21:06The sum of that gear is 433.
21:08All of my parts is 433.
21:09So, if I were to take some of these items off, you would see that bar go down.
21:12And then suddenly, I'm now an epic ranger.
21:14Yeah.
21:15And as you cross thresholds, you'll go through the rarities.
21:17Yeah.
21:18Okay.
21:19Awesome.
21:20This is another question.
21:22I'll answer it.
21:23Is inventory space limited?
21:24So, yes, there is a limit.
21:26Mm-hm.
21:26Because there has to be.
21:27Because that's how servers work.
21:29It's pretty large though.
21:31And so, the idea is that you have plenty of space to keep enough of these things that
21:37you need for your different loadouts.
21:39But you will have to maintain it a little bit.
21:40Like in most games, you fill up and you realize that half of it is junk.
21:44Oh, yeah.
21:44And you keep it for a rainy day.
21:45And you go through and salvage it.
21:46Which salvaging in our game is really important because it gives you crafting materials.
21:49Right.
21:49So, you'll want to break down the things you're not using or you don't need anymore.
21:53Right.
21:53And use them to craft stuff.
21:55So, yes, there is a cap.
21:57It's meant to be big enough that you can freely do all this stuff.
22:00But there's a limit at some point.
22:02Our engineers start complaining when it gets too much.
22:04Yeah.
22:05Will blueprints scale with you when you unlock them?
22:09So, basically, I think the question is if I get a blueprint at level five.
22:13Right.
22:14Let's say it.
22:14Let's say something crazy happened and I'm level 20 and I get a masterwork blueprint.
22:19and I create that.
22:21You would then create a level 20 version of that.
22:23Right.
22:24And then if you were level 30.
22:25If you were level 30.
22:25So, it's basically whatever level you are.
22:27Oh, so you create the same one.
22:28It would be a level 30 one.
22:29You don't need a new recipe.
22:30It would be a level 30 one.
22:30Yeah.
22:30You don't need a new recipe.
22:31Okay.
22:31So, the recipe, it gets created for the current level when you craft it.
22:35Yes.
22:35Right, right, right.
22:36I didn't know that.

22:39Is there a way to re-roll inscriptions?
22:42The method for re-rolling inscriptions is to recraft the item.
22:46Okay.
22:46So, if you're crafting an item, you craft lots of it.
22:49Yeah.
22:50Into the inscriptions you want.
22:51If you just got an item, the answer is to go out and get the item again.
22:55Right.
22:55So, you can't re-roll except for crafting.
22:58Right.
22:59Perfect.
22:59All right.
22:59So, let's get back to our build.
23:01So, we're going to get deep here, I think.
23:04It's about to get complicated.
23:05Take a seat.

23:09Get a pencil and a calculator.
23:11We're going to just talk through Darren's build, the different pieces of it.
23:16And then at the end, we'll talk about the synergies.
23:18I think if we gave the high level thing, you've created a build that excels at being a ranger,
23:23who hovers.
23:25Right.
23:25And by using gear, you can do lots of bonus damage and hover longer and reduce cooldowns and keep doing
23:32lots of gear.
23:33So, I hover.
23:34I do explosive damage.
23:35Yep.
23:36I do ultimates as much as possible.
23:38That's the three key pieces.
23:40Right.
23:41So, let's explain how that works.
23:43Okay.
23:43So, we'll start with the components, which are, for this build, the most important thing.
23:47Now, I want to be super clear here.
23:48I'm focused on explosions, which are coming from gear.
23:51Right.
23:52But the other build that I was playing with was an impact build, which would have been focused on weapons.
23:59Weapons, yeah.
23:59And then I have gear that actually does impact damage as well.
24:02So, it's the opposite.
24:04So, I guess the point there is there are lots of different builds you can make.
24:08Oh, yeah.
24:08And I think the players will come up with many that we never even thought of.
24:11Oh, I hope so.

25:26If it kills them, recharge shields.
25:29So, if I'm in the thicker things, I could stay in longer if I'm executing my rotation properly.

25:35I want to use my ultimate a lot.

28:40So, if you didn't manage to defeat an enemy, you could clean them up pretty easily.

30:39And so, on that, at launch, there'll be three difficulties as you play through the crit path

30:58that are Grandmaster 1, 2, and 3.

35:38So I think we've kind of addressed this, but generally the answer is, um, uh, by playing the game there
35:44are loot tables,
35:45and the harder the content you play gives you higher chances of rarity amongst the loot tables.
35:51And those loot tables are kind of, if you're playing a ranger, you're more likely to get more ranger gear,
35:56or mostly ranger gear.
35:57Um, separately to that, we have a challenge system.
35:59So, uh, you can think of it as what some other games kind of use achievements as like, but there
36:05might be a challenge to be like,
36:07hey, go kill the giant gorilla thing, uh, ten times, and on the tenth time you get a specific reward.
36:12And so we're trying to work out exactly how we'll kind of mix those challenges in to the rest of
36:18the game.
36:18Uh, but the primary thing will be, there are loot tables, and then between crafting and challenges, there'll be some
36:25outs, uh, to chase certain things.
36:30Um, okay, is there anything else you want to show, because we're actually over time, is there anything else you
36:35want to show here?
36:36I mean, not really, I think we've, we've complicated this enough.

39:39You can work in kind of your own rotations, if you will, um, or play styles based on putting it

39:51So, that's an interesting point because you had mentioned this to me, we were playing around with this yesterday.
39:55You're like, you know, this build is really about having to defeat a lot of enemies pretty quickly.
40:00That's where you get the most value.
40:02So, then when you fight, like, an earth six, like, this isn't the best build to go and fight single
40:07target, high, high hit point, high damage output.
40:10You can't get those, those, those activations.
40:13And that's the trade-off, right?
40:13Now, you could have made a different build that was balanced for that.
40:16And my impact build would have been great.
40:17Or a build that was just focused.
40:18Yeah, your impact would have been perfect for it.
40:19It's all about single target damage or weapons.
40:22Um, so there's gonna be a lot of trade-offs here.
40:24And then if you think you're just one player, you know, ideally you have a squad of you and three
40:31of your best friends.
40:33Um, and you're trying to work out the builds that support the whole group, all four of you together.
40:38Right.
40:38So you might make a mixture of some people are there to, to take out the trash, so to speak,
40:42the, the, uh, the easier to kill creatures.
40:45And other people are there to deal with the kind of, um, you know, priority target things.
40:50Yeah.
40:50Either the, the apex creatures like the earth six or even like a scar heavy, um, you know, things that
40:56are harder to defeat.
40:57So another, another interesting thing that we see here because it's not working, unfortunately, is I really needed the hover
41:02time to work.
41:04The, the, me stacking that stuff.

41:07Like just loosely for players, like, do you think it would be about twice?
41:11Like how much more hover are we talking?
41:13Um.
41:13Cause it's not infinite.

41:18So, um, it's not infinite and these guys have a lot of health.

41:48So the key to making that work is that, that enemies scale to your, uh, your pilot level.

41:53Um, there are, there are things that scale, uh, slightly differently, but the creatures.

41:58So the biggest boost you can get, oh man, he's just, uh, the biggest boost you can get is increasing
42:04your rarity.
42:05Is that right?
42:06Uh, increasing rarity and item.
42:08Increasing rarity would be the best way to get ahead.
42:11Item level and, uh, rarity.

42:16And then, um, we've talked about this before, but you know, if Darren's level 20 and I'm level 10, we
42:22can play together because we'll do, without getting into it, relative damage to the creatures and they'll do relative damage
42:27to us so we can play together.
42:29Um, but when Darren has a build like this with all these synergies, he will be more powerful than I
42:34will.
42:34Or he will be able to defeat things faster because he has all these extra synergies and he has a
42:39breadth of things available to him.
42:40Um, but we can still play together and, and have a lot of fun.
42:44Uh, we would, he would never take me to do the hardest end game stuff.
42:48Yeah, I think he would probably, he wouldn't enjoy it.
42:50But he would come on my crit path missions or we, we'd play, you know, whatever piece of content together
42:55on some of the regular difficulties and we'd be having a great time.
42:59Um, are there builds that can improve your melee?
43:03Oh yeah, absolutely. Um, so again, I was, uh, somebody, somebody select, somebody suggested that I actually make a, a
43:12tanky Ranger, uh, melee build.
43:14And I could have done that too.
43:15Yeah.
43:16Right. Lots of, lots of, uh, melee, uh, components, um, and things that apply to that.
43:22So one question was, can you show the other gun, which I think is not working.

43:28It doesn't work.

44:33at launch everyone kind of has their one thing.
44:36Um, and that will scale with pilot level and things like that.
44:41Um, so the next question I'll, I'll field this one as well. Uh, what about raids and end game content?
44:48So, um, that's a much longer answer. Um, so a lot of, um, the kind of core loop to the
44:56game, uh, as you get through the crit path and get towards the end game content, uh, is around taking
45:01on more challenging and more challenging content at those higher difficulties to get, uh, more awards.
45:07Right. Um, then the question says, but Hey, like I would like aspirational content, like it's important to have aspirational
45:13content.
45:14And so we have some things coming that we're not quite ready to talk about. Um, but as we get
45:18into the new year, uh, we'll give some more detail on that.
45:21Um, but certainly at launch, there's a lot of content and a lot of difficulty levels and a lot of
45:26ways to challenge yourself with you and your friends to try to get these rewards, find out what these amazing
45:32builds are, find the builds that are right for you.
45:34Find the build that's right for you and your group, find the build that's right for you and your group
45:38across the four javelins, across multiple loadouts.
45:42You know, there's really a lot of, of stuff to chase there. Um, and a lot of amazing content to
45:47play, uh, to do it. Um, but we'll talk about some of that other stuff, uh, a bit later.
45:54When can we see the intercept the point of view? So for those paying attention, a certain person promised we
46:01would show the intercept of perspective next year.
46:04Yeah. But what happened is last stream, we had a couple of technical problems and we didn't get to show

47:14talk about it. So we talked about pilots and pilot levels, how that works. There's lots of loot in the
47:19game. It comes in multiple rarities. As you push through rarities, you get more inscriptions.
47:23The inscriptions are random from a big pool of over a hundred or about a hundred different things. Um, you
47:31can combine all of these things together to make unique builds as you get towards the end game and you
47:35get some of the higher end rarities, uh, like the build we've shown up today. Uh, within the forge itself,
47:43you can equip the three gear pieces, the two weapons, and then up to six components. And all of that
47:50as you level unlock.
47:51So at level one, you can, you have like a weapon and two gear pieces. And then at level four,
47:55you get like the second weapon and at level, I don't remember, 12 or six, you get the third gear
48:01piece or however it works. And so all that unlocks on your journey, uh, to max pilot level. Um, so
48:07that's kind of what we've covered today. We looked at the Colossus and the Ranger. Um, so that was that.
