00:02:47Loves to run it!
00:02:53Yeah!
00:02:54Yeah!
00:02:59Yeah!
00:03:01Yeah!
00:03:02Yeah!
00:03:02Yeah!
00:03:02Yeah!
00:03:04Thank you, God.
00:03:05What is your name?
00:03:07KJ Willis.
00:03:09I'm 35 years old, and I'm the singing barber from Memphis, Tennessee.
00:03:1514 or 15 years ago, I started cutting hair.
00:03:18And I would be in the barber shop singing and having a great, great time.
00:03:22There was a time when he was most definitely cutting my hair, if you get my drill.
00:03:27And singing at the same time.
00:03:28At the same time.
00:03:29I did not get a family piece.
00:03:31Oh, I charged him full price.
00:03:32No.
00:03:33No, no.
00:03:39To be a part of the first ever voice battle of champions makes me feel like a winner already.
00:03:44All right, what y'all thinking about coaches?
00:03:46Kelly Clarkson.
00:03:48Okay.
00:03:49John Manchin.
00:03:50Okay, wait a minute.
00:03:50Y'all supposed to be on the same page?
00:03:52Kelly is a well-rounded artist.
00:03:55Okay.
00:03:55She has a history of wins.
00:03:58That's the coach.
00:03:59What?
00:03:59How can you lose with y'all Manchin?
00:04:01Kelly has the most wins.
00:04:03Y'all gonna make me pick Adam Levine.
00:04:05I like Adam.
00:04:07KJ, you're in very capable hands here with these two legends.
00:04:12So, I will...
00:04:13I get to be one too?
00:04:14Oh, sorry.
00:04:15Not legends.
00:04:15I don't want to give John the one up.
00:04:17Oh, these two icons.
00:04:18He named himself.
00:04:19I'm naming myself icon.
00:04:21Kelly Idol.
00:04:23Kelly Idol.
00:04:23It's sitting right there.
00:04:24That's sitting.
00:04:25That's sitting.
00:04:26If you need to consult with anyone about your decision, just let me know.
00:04:31I'm gonna coach you right off the bat.
00:04:32You cannot teach someone to be that kind of passionate and comfortable on stage.
00:04:36Yeah.
00:04:36You have such a gift.
00:04:37I would suggest just holding back a little bit and save those spots.
00:04:41Because if you're doing it the whole time, people can lose sight of how special it is.
00:04:46If you choose me, which I hope you do, I would just suggest picking those moments to shine.
00:04:51So, when you get to the finale, people are like, damn.
00:04:55Yeah.
00:04:55I hope you pick my team.
00:04:56You're so soulful.
00:04:57Your range is incredible.
00:05:00I will hand off to legend.
00:05:02KJ, what kind of music are you into and what are you doing?
00:05:05I'm from Memphis, Tennessee.
00:05:06Yeah.
00:05:07I love, love music.
00:05:08That's how I fell in love with your music.
00:05:10Oh, thank you.
00:05:12Well, it was nice to meet you.
00:05:15Continue.
00:05:16Tell me more.
00:05:16My dad is a pastor.
00:05:18My mom is a pastor.
00:05:19I grew up in the church.
00:05:20In Memphis, you know, there's a big soul scene.
00:05:22There's a big live music scene.
00:05:24Absolutely.
00:05:25And I got a chance to tour with Babyface.
00:05:27Amazing.
00:05:28Your tone is impeccable.
00:05:31You've got texture.
00:05:32You've got soul.
00:05:33You've got just sauce on it.
00:05:36It's just a beautiful, beautiful voice.
00:05:38I know you're going to do really well on this competition.
00:05:41And I would love to be your coach.
00:05:44I grew up as a preacher's kid as well.
00:05:46Oh, damn.
00:05:47And directing the church choir.
00:05:49You get it.
00:05:50I got a new song with Tasha Cobb's winner.
00:05:51Oh, come on.
00:05:53Come on.
00:05:54I know where you come from.
00:05:55I believe you can be amazing on this show.
00:05:58Thank you so much.
00:05:59I just want to say, you mentioned Babyface,
00:06:01and I've been able to work with him.
00:06:02I actually worked with him.
00:06:02I don't know if people know this.
00:06:03On my very first record, I'm only dropping this
00:06:06because I'm just trying to win you over.
00:06:08But I literally have a residency in Vegas,
00:06:09and Babyface came to my show,
00:06:11and he's, like, so supportive,
00:06:14and I love working with him.
00:06:16Babyface is a friend of mine.
00:06:18That's fine.
00:06:18He was at my house.
00:06:19Well, we were texting after my show.
00:06:20We watched the Super Bowl together at my house.
00:06:22Oh, whatever.
00:06:23Kids.
00:06:23I'm not that close.
00:06:24But, like, I would hang.
00:06:26I'm a huge fan, too.
00:06:27I know people see me as, like, a pop star
00:06:29or in the country world, too.
00:06:31But I grew up on those Tony Braxton albums.
00:06:33Like, I grew up on everything he did.
00:06:35I just, you know, just, like, just think about it.
00:06:37You know?
00:06:38Uh-huh.
00:06:39I just want you to know
00:06:40Babyface was able to come from R&B,
00:06:42but become hugely popular across genre boundaries.
00:06:46And so you never want to forget your roots
00:06:49because they define who you are as an artist.
00:06:51And I feel like I'm able to help you do that.
00:06:53So let's do it together, KJ.
00:06:55Hey, roots are important, but so are wings.
00:06:58I'm just saying, so are wings.
00:06:59Okay, so you got two choices.
00:07:01You got wings, you got roots.
00:07:02No!
00:07:03I got both here!
00:07:04Got both!
00:07:05KJ, who do you pick as your coach?
00:07:08Come on!
00:07:10Come on!
00:07:11Come on home!
00:07:18I gotta go with...
00:07:20Come on!
00:07:54I love KJ's voice.
00:07:57He has such a cool tone.
00:07:58He can do amazing runs.
00:07:59Let's go!
00:07:59Let's go!
00:07:59Let's go!
00:08:01KJ!
00:08:02I'm excited to see what we're going to do together.
00:08:05This is so cool.
00:08:07Oh, man, he's good!
00:08:09Kelly's my friend.
00:08:10We talk when we're not working together,
00:08:12but that trophy is coming to Team Legend.
00:08:15Welcome to Team Legend.
00:08:17This is yours.
00:08:19Oh, yeah, KJ is on Team JL.
00:08:21Let's go!
00:08:22John Legend, he knows my soul roots,
00:08:27that church root,
00:08:28and he knows how to cultivate it.
00:08:30Yes, ma'am.
00:08:31Yes, ma'am.
00:08:33That's the best possible choice.
00:08:35I fought the good fight.
00:08:37KJ was so good.
00:08:38You know, when they say,
00:08:39oh, I'm a huge John fan,
00:08:40and I've turned around and I'm like,
00:08:41oh, you feel it in your gut a little bit.
00:08:43I'm back, baby!
00:08:45Hey!
00:08:46I knew I didn't have a chance,
00:08:48but I'm just going to fight.
00:08:49I love how you kept working at it, though, girl.
00:08:51I was working at it.
00:08:51You kept working at it.
00:08:52I thought my wings thing was so good, too.
00:08:55I was like, roots are great,
00:08:56but don't you want to fly?
00:08:58I hate when mom and dad fight.
00:09:04I'll tell you what,
00:09:04I'm real excited to be here.
00:09:06Just walking in,
00:09:07it's all becoming real.
00:09:09Perfect.
00:09:09The folks gonna go out and sing
00:09:10in front of these coaches.
00:09:11I look at them,
00:09:12I see phenomenal musicians,
00:09:14experts at their craft.
00:09:15I would love to work with Adam Levine,
00:09:17but I'd also love to work with Kelly Clarkson,
00:09:20because, you know,
00:09:21she's Kelly Clarkson,
00:09:21I'm Houston Kelly,
00:09:22we're already halfway there.
00:09:25I'm a Southern boy.
00:09:26I live in Memphis, Tennessee.
00:09:29Welcome to Memphis, Tennessee.
00:09:31I've got some blues influence
00:09:32from being in Memphis,
00:09:33and I've got some of the country influence
00:09:35from growing up in the South.
00:09:36Morning, everybody.
00:09:38It is Sunday morning before church.
00:09:42Something I love about living in the South
00:09:44is the outdoors.
00:09:45I have great memories with my friends at the lake.
00:09:48We love to go fish and hunt.
00:09:50I suppose it's backwoods therapy.
00:09:52Something about being out there
00:09:53and listening to music,
00:09:54I think it just furthered my love for music
00:09:56and how much it impacts my life.
00:10:00I started gigging out with a little band.
00:10:02We'd go play shows around town.
00:10:04It was a load of fun.
00:10:05Then the Houston Kelly band formed
00:10:07and I've been playing with those folks ever since.
00:10:10It's been a blast.
00:10:12My grandfather, I called him pop,
00:10:15was one of the biggest fans a guy could have ever had.
00:10:18The song I'm going to be able to sing for the blind
00:10:19was my grandfather's favorite song that I would sing.
00:10:23I found out I was going to be able to come out here
00:10:27for an opportunity at the blinds the day we buried Pop.
00:10:33He wasn't just my granddad.
00:10:34He was a friend, you know.
00:10:37They had gum it.
00:10:37Y'all got me crying now.
00:10:43I wish he had the opportunity to see what he supported me to be.
00:10:57All right.
00:10:58Touchdown in the land of the Delta Blues
00:11:02In the middle of the pouring rain
00:11:04Then I'm walking in Memphis
00:11:08I was walking with my feet ten feet off of Bill
00:11:11Walking in Memphis
00:11:15But do I really feel the way I feel
00:11:21They've got catfish on the table
00:11:25They've got gospel in the air
00:11:28And Reverend Green
00:11:30Be glad to see you
00:11:33If you haven't got a prayer
00:11:40But boy you got a prayer in Memphis
00:11:46Do a little number
00:11:49And I sang with all my might
00:11:52She said, tell me are you a Christian child
00:11:56And I said, ma'am I am tonight
00:11:59Walking in Memphis
00:12:03I was walking with my feet ten feet off of Bill
00:12:06Walking in Memphis
00:12:08Walking in Memphis
00:12:10But do I really feel the way I feel
00:12:17Put on my blue suede shoes
00:12:20And I boarded the plane
00:12:37I'm sweating. I have never waited that long
00:12:41You are conniving
00:12:42I didn't
00:12:43I didn't
00:12:44I made a joke
00:12:45You always
00:12:46You were planning it the whole time
00:12:48I didn't
00:12:48I didn't
00:12:48I literally was thinking
00:12:50Well I already have country
00:12:52But then I was like
00:12:52Well I don't have anybody that sounds like this though
00:12:54You are so talented
00:12:55What is your name and where are you from?
00:12:58My name is Houston Kelly
00:12:59I'm from Memphis, Tennessee
00:13:02Houston Kelly from Team Kelly
00:13:03Welcome to Team Kelly
00:13:05I just am still so sweaty Houston
00:13:08It's like
00:13:08And then your name is Kelly
00:13:10I just can't even get over this
00:13:12Who did you grow up on?
00:13:14I'm just curious
00:13:14Like the artist that you love
00:13:15When I first started
00:13:17My dad's in the back
00:13:18We would ride around in his pickup truck
00:13:21And we would listen to Alabama's Greatest Hits CD
00:13:23Yes
00:13:23And I think that's where it all started for me
00:13:26Houston is so country that I don't even know like what to do about it
00:13:29I know
00:13:30You know what I love most is that Shelton isn't here
00:13:32Cause if he wears I know you'd pick him
00:13:34Oh
00:13:35If they were here it would be already over
00:13:37I know
00:13:37But he's not
00:13:39So I'm very excited
00:13:41His ghost haunts us everyday
00:13:43Seriously
00:13:43He does
00:13:44He has that effect
00:13:45It lingers
00:13:46Man I literally like
00:13:47She turned at the last second and blew our minds
00:13:49I was thinking about it too right when she did it
00:13:53And then I was like
00:13:54This is an uphill battle for me that I'm gonna lose
00:13:56Because she gets
00:13:57You ever notice how she gets a little more country
00:13:59When she starts to talk to a country artist?
00:14:00A little bit
00:14:00It's alright
00:14:01Well I get real country when I talk to my sister
00:14:03Cause she's from North Carolina
00:14:04And that's a different dialect
00:14:05See now this is what I didn't want to deal with
00:14:07You know what I mean?
00:14:07So that's why I didn't turn
00:14:08It depends on who I'm talking to
00:14:09He gets more L.A. when he talks to a country artist
00:14:12I try to get more country but it just sounds horrible
00:14:14But yeah man you're clearly where you should be
00:14:17And I'm happy for that
00:14:18But you're great man
00:14:19Thank you so much
00:14:21I really thought you gave a really strong performance
00:14:24Your voice has so much power to it
00:14:26Kelly's gonna be a great coach
00:14:27I'm so excited for you Houston
00:14:28So nice to meet you
00:14:29Yes sir thank you so much
00:14:32You have almost this like Toby Keith
00:14:34Little growl to you a bit
00:14:36Which I love
00:14:37Thank you so much
00:14:38You're just such a great solid country singer
00:14:41And I love that
00:14:42You know screw this come on
00:14:46I'm so excited
00:14:47Houston was amazing
00:14:49I have never
00:14:50What I loved about Houston's voice is that he has this big round tone
00:14:54And I love his name is Houston Kelly
00:14:56Come on
00:14:56Hi dad
00:14:57I have one spot left
00:14:58I really want something special
00:15:00Right now I have singer songwriter country
00:15:03It's just kind of all over the map
00:15:04But I am looking for soulful pop
00:15:07I would really like someone to fill it out in a different way
00:15:10Last day of blinds though
00:15:11That much more crucial to get good people
00:15:13I have three spots left
00:15:14Just waiting to be inspired
00:15:15I wanna get my team full
00:15:18I'm a really big fan of all music
00:15:20But you know
00:15:21I'm just looking for something great
00:15:22I'm picky
00:15:23And at this point
00:15:24I just have to be patient
00:15:25And the right singers will come at the right time
00:15:27Still to come
00:15:29Our kids are full
00:15:33The competition between our coaches is in full gear
00:15:37I've also won this
00:15:38If you want to take a look up there
00:15:39More than these boys
00:15:41My kids are here too by the way
00:15:44I got kids
00:15:45Our kids are watching too
00:15:47All right, that sounded desperate
00:15:48And the artists don't disappoint
00:15:50But you know I never lie
00:16:06Did you just win the voice?
00:16:08The first ever triple turn champ is

00:16:37We've all won the show
00:16:38Everybody here
00:16:39And we've worked together for years
00:16:41So it's a fun team to work with
00:16:42Look at the big head
00:16:45Way done!
00:16:46We're all competitive but we know each other
00:16:48And so we have a nice rapport
00:16:50Bruh, you're not old
00:16:51I crochet like I make blankets
00:16:53Yeah, that's like an old thing
00:16:55Oh hey, I just
00:16:56I heard you wanted one of these
00:16:57So I just
00:16:58Oh my god
00:16:59Do you want me to sign it?
00:17:00You know what?
00:17:02I'm gonna try to beat her for that triple turn title
00:17:05Look out for me
00:17:07I'm so excited
00:17:09My whole life has led up to this moment
00:17:11And I'm ready
00:17:12Our next artist is entering now
00:17:25I love coffee
00:17:27It's part of the reason why I became a barista
00:17:34Customers are very interesting
00:17:35One of the regulars
00:17:36Her drink is a caramel blended
00:17:38With three shots of espresso
00:17:40Two salt packets on top
00:17:42Two raw sugar packets on top
00:17:44And then a shot of espresso on top
00:17:46She doesn't even use like a long straw
00:17:48She uses a short straw
00:17:49If you give her a long straw
00:17:51She'll ask for a short straw
00:17:52It's so weird
00:17:53People are crazy about their coffee
00:17:55They're very particular
00:17:57I'm Ashley Marina
00:17:59I'm 18 years old
00:18:00And I'm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
00:18:03I've been singing since I can remember
00:18:05But songwriting is one of the most important things in my life
00:18:08I was on America's Got Talent when I was 12
00:18:11I'm actually doing an original song
00:18:13It's about my dad
00:18:16Who's always there when I need you
00:18:18For every single gig that I do
00:18:19My dad has always been there for me no matter what
00:18:22That was so emotional, so beautiful, so connected
00:18:26My whole family gives me so much support
00:18:28I love them to death
00:18:30It was an incredible experience
00:18:32But then I was cut after the second round
00:18:35When I was on America's Got Talent
00:18:37I was really, really young
00:18:38And now I'm 18 years old
00:18:41So these buildings back here are the music buildings
00:18:44I'm a commercial music major in Nashville
00:18:47I'm really trying to take advantage of everything around me
00:18:50And gig around and meet a lot of new people
00:18:54That's why I'm very grateful that I can be here
00:18:58Here we go
00:18:59A chair turn could change my life
00:19:01I don't really have a plan B
00:19:03So I am so down to do whatever it takes
00:19:16Alone in this house again tonight
00:19:22I got the TV on the sound turned down
00:19:28And a bottle of wine
00:19:32There's pictures of you and I
00:19:36On the walls around me
00:19:38Oh, the walls around me
00:19:41So I was mean
00:19:43I'll never get over
00:19:45Walking away
00:19:53I've never been the kind to ever let my feelings
00:20:00So
00:20:02And I thought I'd be
00:20:05Strong
00:20:06And never losing
00:20:08Your self-control
00:20:10Just drunk enough
00:20:11To let go of my pain
00:20:14To help with this pride
00:20:16Let it fall like rain
00:20:18From my eyes
00:20:21From my eyes
00:20:28Tonight I wanna cry
00:20:45To let it fall like rain
00:20:46We're in the night
00:20:48To let it fall like rain
00:20:49Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
00:20:50I put the tire
00:20:50To let it fall like rain
00:20:53To let it fall like rain
00:20:56Hi, what's your name?
00:20:59Hi, I'm Ashley Marina, I'm 18 years old
00:21:02and I'm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
00:21:04Pittsburgh.
00:21:06I love those boots.
00:21:07What's your background musically?
00:21:09I listen to a little bit of everything.
00:21:11I love your covers and everything.
00:21:13You can go from rock star to country.
00:21:15Oh, okay, okay, okay.
00:21:18I could hear country in there,
00:21:19I could also hear other influences musically,
00:21:22which I think is really important.
00:21:23You were pitchy after we turned around
00:21:25and I don't know if that's, you got nervous.
00:21:27I noticed that too.
00:21:28It's like everyone around me is so like.
00:21:30No, it was funny though, it happens a lot,
00:21:33but this is the stage to get used to that.
00:21:36I just think you have a really killer voice
00:21:38and I would love to help you tackle those nerves, girl.
00:21:43Hi, Ashley.
00:21:44Hi.
00:21:46Uh-oh.
00:21:47What, what am I saying?
00:21:48No, it's how she responded to you.
00:21:49She got a little giddy.
00:21:51You know, it's crazy, like the Blonde Editions
00:21:53are kind of a grueling process
00:21:54because we're listening to so much,
00:21:55we're taking so much in.
00:21:57It almost gets harder to really be able
00:22:00to identify what is truly great.
00:22:02And what's really nice is when you have a moment
00:22:04like listening to you,
00:22:05you absolutely know the way you're listening to
00:22:07is really special.
00:22:09You tackling the nerves and you getting past that
00:22:11literally is the formula to do well
00:22:14and succeed on the show.
00:22:15That's what we're here for.
00:22:16We're here to make you that much more comfortable
00:22:17in front of audiences every night
00:22:18and that is what will contribute to your success, for sure.
00:22:21Thank you, thank you.
00:22:23Hi, Ashley.
00:22:24Hi.
00:22:26I'm so excited for you.
00:22:27This is so cool.
00:22:28We heard your tone.
00:22:29We heard the way you jump between your different parts
00:22:31of your voice and it was really beautiful
00:22:33and it was really tasteful and it was really musical.
00:22:36And the fact that you're doing all that at the age of 18
00:22:39is just so impressive.
00:22:40You have this beautiful gift
00:22:42and we're just here to cultivate it,
00:22:44help you develop the confidence you need.
00:22:46And I would love to be your coach on this journey.
00:22:48Thank you so much.
00:22:50All right, Ashley.
00:22:50Who do you pick as your coach?
00:22:58Come on.
00:22:58No.
00:23:02Come on.
00:23:03Come on, Ashley.
00:23:05I think that I'm going to have to go with John.
00:23:07Yay!
00:23:11Ashley!
00:23:18Ah, I'm so excited.
00:23:20Triple turn, triple turn, triple turn.
00:23:25Ashley's 18 years old, so talented.
00:23:28I had a feeling you were going to pick Kelly.
00:23:29I've known it was you from the beginning.
00:23:30Oh, you knew.
00:23:32Amazing.
00:23:32It's interesting because, especially with the younger artists,
00:23:35when we turn, sometimes they get a little nervous.
00:23:37But Ashley got back on the plan and it was a lovely performance.
00:23:41Hold it up in front of this camera.
00:23:43Whoo!
00:23:44I'm so excited to work with Ashley.
00:23:46And I'm catching up in that triple turn competition.
00:23:49Legend!
00:23:50Legend!
00:23:55Woo!
00:23:56So far, there's been a lot of triple turns.
00:23:59Triple turn.
00:24:00Still.
00:24:02John and I both have two and Adam's on fire right now.
00:24:05I'm getting a little worried about my super steal.
00:24:08You know your one triple chair turn away?
00:24:10Yeah.
00:24:11What happened?
00:24:12John could tie you right now.
00:24:13Yeah, it's 3-2-2.
00:24:14You realize there's a big advantage in the battles.
00:24:16Super steal.
00:24:17Super steal.
00:24:18We're all right there.
00:24:19Yeah, man.
00:24:19I'm right there, bro.
00:24:21What happens if we tie?
00:24:22Do they then count the two chairs?
00:24:24Watch out, Adam.
00:24:25I know you've got a triple turn lead right now,
00:24:28but I'm coming for you.
00:24:31This triple turn competition is getting down to the wire.
00:24:34What's your take on it?
00:24:35I mean, things are neck and neck.
00:24:36With John and Kelly now tied,
00:24:39they'll have their sights set on a rebound with Adam.
00:24:41This is crazy.
00:24:42John and Kelly are tied.
00:24:44Bro, John, he made the push.
00:24:45He was struggling at first.
00:24:47Their strategies from this point on are gonna be crucial.
00:24:49The OG coach either is gonna lose his lead
00:24:51or leave him in the dust.
00:24:53This is gonna be fun to watch.
00:25:02Welcome back to The Blind Auditions
00:25:04at Universal Studios Hollywood.
00:25:10We're close.
00:25:11We're within one, sir.
00:25:13Two, two, three.
00:25:13One away.
00:25:14It's hard.
00:25:14No one can dominate the triple turns.
00:25:16I feel like my comeback is on the way.
00:25:18Yeah.
00:25:19I've known that you guys are gonna be
00:25:20my toughest concentration of competition
00:25:23that I've ever faced.
00:25:25There's no dead weight here.
00:25:26No.
00:25:26There's no new coach.
00:25:27We are, like, head-to-head.
00:25:29You have to fight so hard.
00:25:30If I don't fight super hard in a three-chair,
00:25:33there's no chance.
00:25:34So, bottom line is the battle champions
00:25:36is bringing out our best.
00:25:38Yeah.
00:25:38Like, we have to bring our A-plus game
00:25:40or we're not gonna get it.
00:25:41That's right.
00:25:43It's amazing.
00:25:45Buenas, buenas.
00:25:47My name is Aziz Guerra.
00:25:48I'm 20 years old
00:25:49and I'm from El Paso, Texas.
00:25:52When I was eight,
00:25:54I moved with my family to Texas
00:25:56from Mexico.
00:25:57That's where I started performing a lot.
00:26:01I am in a mariachi band
00:26:03that's called Mariachi Cuauhtli.
00:26:04I'm super excited about it.
00:26:08I'm currently living in Boston.
00:26:10I study at Berklee College of Music
00:26:11and I also get to perform.
00:26:13Being part of a musical theater show.
00:26:15I love the city.
00:26:17I will be singing El Triste's song in Spanish.
00:26:20Jose Jose is an artist
00:26:22that I've really looked up to.
00:26:23His style is just unique
00:26:24and I would like to bring all those beautiful songs
00:26:28to people my age
00:26:30and it's a huge honor to be performing it,
00:26:33especially here on The Voice.
00:26:34These coaches,
00:26:36the three of them,
00:26:37they're champions.
00:26:38So a chair touring
00:26:39would literally mean the world to me.
00:26:50How sad
00:26:53Can we say goodbye
00:26:58When we loved us
00:27:00much more
00:27:04to go
00:27:05to try
00:27:06to fly
00:27:11to come
00:27:13to the end,
00:27:16the three of them.
00:27:21So
00:27:55Oh
00:28:19Let's see
00:28:23What's your name? I'm the C's get around 20 years old a Mexican-American and I was born in Guadalajara
00:28:29Jalisco, Mexico
00:28:32Hola, that was so beautifully done. I loved it
00:28:35And then you kept being more impressive as the song went on and even your falsetto
00:28:40That was really cool, man. Who are some of the artists that have influenced you? I love Luis Miguel
00:28:45I love mariachi music. I love Vicente Fernandez Juan Gabriel
00:28:49Oh, man, I'm so stoked you're on the show. That was beautiful. Congratulations. Thank you so much. Thank you, Kelly
00:28:56That was absolutely a beautiful performance. Your voice is so rich and textured and we were hearing a really beautiful
00:29:04range
00:29:05Within your voice, but also your ability to go between your head voice and your chest voice really beautifully
00:29:11It just all worked. So welcome to the voice. Thank you so much
00:29:16I always, you know, it's funny when someone comes out and they sing in another language
00:29:20I always have to take a beat because I'm like, okay, I
00:29:24Want to turn because it's not in English like I'm my inclination is I want to be a part of
00:29:29this no matter what but then I go
00:29:31Okay, let's take a listen because there's other things I want to hear and so that's a
00:29:36Almost can be a novelty if you're not careful
00:29:38But you have a lot of power and the way you delivered some of those lines towards the end. I
00:29:41was like super happy
00:29:43Thank you so much. Welcome to my team, man
00:29:45Thank you. I really really appreciate it. Let's go. Thank you. I love Aziz
00:29:49I love someone that is gonna come out there and be bold and different. I'm a really big fan of
00:29:54singing in Spanish
00:29:55What's your team, Adam Jersey? I just love having that kind of diversity on the team. It's great.
00:29:59Most must
00:30:02Who would you draft on your team get the voice official app now and play along with our champion coaches?
00:30:16Welcome back
00:30:19It's the final night of the blind auditions and with the clock counting down the stakes are higher than ever
00:30:25for the artists
00:30:26Good luck. Good luck sweetheart. Bye
00:30:29All right, let's go. Let's go
00:30:32And the pressure is on for our coaches to round out their teams. My anxiety levels are only mid right
00:30:37now
00:30:37Just a couple spots left
00:30:38So we're very much fighting for the last bit of special that could be added to your team to elevate
00:30:43it
00:30:43There's a lot of pressure on you
00:30:45Ladies and gentlemen, our next artist is entering now. Let's go. Come on
00:30:51Let's see if these next artists have what our coaches are looking for
00:30:56Oh
00:30:58This is not happening
00:31:00The whole world watches the voice for them to see me actually beyond the voice would be crazy
00:31:15My name is Marya Kevorgian. I am 15 years old currently a sophomore in high school. I love to sing
00:31:22and dance
00:31:22I've been in choir for five years now
00:31:28I've been dreaming of this since I was like four years old. I would go on the tv my mom's
00:31:32like are you watching?
00:31:33I don't know disney movies. I'm like no i'm watching the voice. What are you talking about?
00:31:37A chair turn could completely change my future. I want to get a chair turn just one one's fine
00:31:55I try to talk to my piano
00:32:00Try to talk to my guitar
00:32:03Talk to my imagination
00:32:07Confided into alcohol
00:32:09A hundred million stories and a hundred million songs. I feel stupid when I sing
00:32:17Nobody's listening to me
00:32:21Nobody's listening
00:32:25Anyone
00:32:47Nobody's listening to me
00:32:52Nobody's listening to me
00:32:54Nobody's
00:32:56Nobody's listening
00:32:59Mmm, so good
00:33:04What's your name?
00:33:06My name's Marya. I'm 15 and I'm from Burbank, California.
00:33:10The great thing about being 15 years old and doing this you're not running out of time
00:33:13You're at the very beginning of this whole thing. You have such a big beautiful gift. I think today was
00:33:18timing
00:33:18It's just because my team was literally almost full. I would have turned for you. So please come back. Thank
00:33:23you
00:33:24Thank you so much
00:33:26It is so hard to see
00:33:29talented people go home, but especially
00:33:32someone that's that young
00:33:34Everybody saw me get my one audition then I made it whatever but they didn't see all the other doors
00:33:38that were closed or all the other things
00:33:39I tried out for before so I hope she comes back and I hope she
00:33:42She just picks a song that has a little bit more breathing room
00:33:44I'll be better or sadder
00:33:48None of this matters
00:33:51I'm dreaming, dreaming of sadder
00:33:56Come on!
00:33:58Oh, I'm dreaming of sadder
00:34:09Oh, I know you
00:34:24I know you
00:34:25You know me
00:34:25Many, many years ago
00:34:27We used to do duets together
00:34:29John was also there
00:34:30Oh my god, you were on there too
00:34:31On duets!
00:34:32Kelly Clarkson and I were on this show called duets and every week would sing with our artists
00:34:39Our hallelujah was so good
00:34:41You're like a dude
00:34:43I'm grown
00:34:43I'm grown
00:34:44A lot of life has happened
00:34:45Oh my god
00:34:46I love that scissor song
00:34:47I just felt like you were having a little bit of control issues when it came to pitch and things
00:34:52of that nature
00:34:52You know I love your voice, so I'm so sorry, that would have been so cool
00:34:56Nice to see you, Jason
00:34:58Thank you, Jason
00:34:59Thank you guys
00:35:01Man, you know, Jason, I thought his tone was really cool
00:35:04It is about timing sometimes
00:35:06As much as we love scissor, scissor's not easy to cover
00:35:10That's the conceit of this show is that we can tell just by listening without looking how talented they are
00:35:17How connected they are to the music, what a great storyteller they are, so I'm waiting to hear that
00:35:23For my blind audition, I'm singing teenage dream by Katy Perry
00:35:27I'm making this song my own by starting it off a little slower
00:35:30I'm adding some runs and I have a little bit more of a raspy voice than she does
00:35:37People usually think that I'm a country artist actually and I am not
00:35:49You think I'm pretty without any makeup on
00:35:54You think I'm funny, but not to the punchline wrong
00:35:59I know you get me, so I let my walls come down
00:36:04Down
00:36:07Let's go on
00:36:09Down
00:36:11Down
00:36:12Down
00:36:12Down
00:36:12Up
00:36:32Down
00:36:37Down
00:36:41Now
00:36:42When you look at me, just one touch
00:36:47Now baby, I believe this is real
00:36:51So take a chance and don't ever look back
00:36:55I'ma get your heart racing in my skin-tight jeans
00:37:00Be your teenage dream tonight
00:37:03I'll let you put your hands on me in my skin-tight jeans
00:37:08Be your teenage dream tonight
00:37:11Be your teenage dream tonight
00:37:17Whoo!
00:37:19Yeah!
00:37:22Nice towing me!
00:37:28Thank you!
00:37:29She crushed that, bro. She crushed that.
00:37:32Wow, wow, wow. What's her name?
00:37:35My name is McKinley Brown. I'm 19 years old, and I'm from Newcastle, Indiana.
00:37:39Indiana!
00:37:40Me too!
00:37:42I didn't even recognize the song at first because you had put such your own thing to it.
00:37:49You're tasteful. You have an ethereal quality to what you do.
00:37:53My favorite thing about it was when we turned around, you were just so lost in what you were doing.
00:37:59Just to see you in your element, eyes closed, standing there stoically singing, is like the kind of purity that
00:38:06I love the most.
00:38:07Thank you!
00:38:08And the way that I would think about Adele doing it, or the way that I would think about one
00:38:10of those heavyweight, like incredible vocalists just like blowing our minds, and I think that that was just the tip
00:38:15of the iceberg.
00:38:16I'm a big fan.
00:38:17Big fan.
00:38:18Thank you very much.
00:38:19Your tone is incredible. You have these little yodel effects in your voice.
00:38:24That's the Indiana.
00:38:25I get that a lot. It is. It's the Indiana.
00:38:27It was how you said dream, your little run you did on dream. I was like, is this a country
00:38:31queen behind me? I was like, I had no idea what I was going to turn around to. Do you
00:38:35perform already?
00:38:36I do perform already a bit. I do gigs with my dad. My dad's my guitar player.
00:38:41Oh, cool.
00:38:42This is where I perform some of my gigs.
00:38:45Currently, I perform at restaurants, bars.
00:38:49Peanut butter.
00:38:50Yay!
00:38:51My dad, he's my guitar player. We do gigs together all the time.
00:38:55He likes to call himself dadager. And I'm like, no.
00:39:01My parents believing in me is definitely the reason I'm here today.
00:39:05As a little girl, I was super out there, out of the box, super loud, crazy, just like my dad
00:39:12and my mom.
00:39:13Once I got to middle school, I was bullied and had a really hard time with people telling me things
00:39:24that I need to change about myself.
00:39:26Like my weight and my style and who I am as a person. And I was always by myself, listening
00:39:34to music.
00:39:35My parents really stepped in and helped me through it and let me know that they're always here for me
00:39:40no matter what and no matter who else is.
00:39:43It's not about being the shooting star. It's about being the shining star. Getting out there and showing the world
00:39:54who you are.
00:39:56Do you like writing as well?
00:39:57Yes, I love writing. It's my favorite part of it all.
00:39:59Is that like therapeutic for you?
00:40:01Oh, yeah. Absolutely.
00:40:02For me too.
00:40:03Yes.
00:40:03I'm a big fan. I have navigated a competition at your exact age. I've also won this if you want
00:40:08to take a look up there more than these boys.
00:40:15They're incredible. But I just mean, I know how to win a show. I have no one on my team
00:40:20in your lane at all.
00:40:22And I do have a team filling up, so I haven't been pressing my button right now because I'm a
00:40:26little worried about filling it up.
00:40:28But you were just so special. I really think you would make an incredible member on my team.
00:40:32Thank you. Thank you very much.
00:40:34Hi, McKinley.
00:40:35Hi, John.
00:40:37How are you?
00:40:37I'm great. How are you?
00:40:38Don't say it like that, McKinley.
00:40:39Why are you saying like that?
00:40:40Stay out of our conversation.
00:40:42Oh, man.
00:40:43I'm having a one on one with my new friend McKinley.
00:40:45That was so cool.
00:40:47I was the first one to turn for you. You might have noticed that.
00:40:50That's my favorite Katy Perry song. I love that. Let's go all the way tonight.
00:40:56I feel like-
00:40:56When she says, let's go all the way tonight, that's your favorite part?
00:40:58No, it's just like, it's the melody. It's the music in that moment.
00:41:05Dude, you teed me up.
00:41:07It always grabs me in a really nice way.
00:41:10That's my favorite part too, John.
00:41:12Yeah.
00:41:12What I'm saying is, I think you're cool.
00:41:14I think you're cool too.
00:41:17I would love to work with you. I think I'd be a great coach for you and we'd have a
00:41:20lot of fun together.
00:41:23I think it's time to ask you the question. I want to just keep talking though so that
00:41:26you remember me last.
00:41:28I grew up right next door to you too in Ohio.
00:41:32I'm from LA. We're here in LA right now.
00:41:35I've been to Indiana, so.
00:41:37I got the same shoes.
00:41:38Oh, I'm sure you do. I'm sure you do.
00:41:40My team has no one like you. We're all champions here.
00:41:44But I feel like I want to fight for you, McKinley.
00:41:47I really believe you can go far. So let's do it.
00:41:50Let's, let's not, let's not.
00:41:53Let's do not that.
00:41:55All right.
00:41:56That was good, John. You got the last word.
00:41:58I tried.
00:41:59I know. Good job.
00:42:00My kids are here too, by the way.
00:42:01Oh, no.
00:42:04Hey, I got kids.
00:42:05Oh, man. Our kids are watching too.
00:42:07Damn.
00:42:07All right, that sounded desperate.
00:42:09Okay, it's time. Let me shut up now.
00:42:10It's time, McKinley.
00:42:12Who do you pick as your coach?
00:42:13A coach.
00:42:18Let's do it.
00:42:20Let's do it.
00:42:21Let's do it.
00:42:22Let's do it.
00:42:22What are you going to do?
00:42:23I think I'm going to pick.
00:42:36Welcome back to the final night of The Blind Auditions.
00:42:40It's time, McKinley.
00:42:41Who do you pick as your coach?
00:42:51What you going to do?
00:42:56I think I'm going to pick...
00:43:04I love her voice.
00:43:07McKinley was another triple clearing win for me.
00:43:09and I feel like I've heard triple turn tornado
00:43:12and I feel like that's fitting.
00:43:15I am a little bit like a tornado.
00:43:18All right, all right, all right, all right, all right.
00:43:20I come in and woo!
00:43:22There you go!
00:43:24I was 19 and I went through a competition
00:43:25and she's the same age.
00:43:27So I like winning an artist
00:43:28that I genuinely feel like I could be good for.
00:43:32My team is gone!
00:43:34Woo!
00:43:38Congratulations!
00:43:44Triple turn.
00:43:45She's got three of them.
00:43:46Good for you.
00:43:47We're so happy for you.
00:43:48I'm so happy for you, Kelly.
00:43:52Okay, we've got some exciting news, everybody.
00:43:55It is time to announce the winner
00:43:56of the triple turn competition.
00:43:58It could not have been closer.
00:44:01Two of our coaches actually tied.
00:44:03Adam and Kelly, congratulations.
00:44:06You both have three triple turns.
00:44:08However, as a tiebreaker,
00:44:10we factored in the number of two-chair wins
00:44:12and the first-ever triple turn champ is...
00:44:29Kelly Clarkson!
00:44:37That scared me!
00:44:38That scared me!
00:44:38I'm officially the triple turn champion
00:44:40and it feels good, you know?
00:44:43I'm so stoked about the super steal
00:44:45and the battle rounds.
00:44:46I am excited to be able to steal someone I love
00:44:49because that means I'm gonna get them.
00:44:50Yeah, whatever.
00:44:51You know what?
00:44:52She won the little thing,
00:44:53but she didn't win the big thing, like the voice.
00:44:55I'm gonna win the big.
00:44:57Congratulations, Kelly Clarkson, everybody!
00:45:03Bring you a 20-minute cleanup on the confetti.
00:45:08Yo, Coach Kelly, Coach Kelly.
00:45:11I had my money on her.
00:45:12The whole time, right?
00:45:13The whole time, I had my money on her.
00:45:14The whole time.
00:45:15John made a push, but Kelly...
00:45:17This is gonna make for one heart-pounding round of battles.
00:45:20It sure will.
00:45:21Yeah, I'm excited.
00:45:23Y'all, my team is full.
00:45:24I have what I really crave every season.
00:45:27Diversity.
00:45:28That's what's fun about art.
00:45:29To be able to work with people
00:45:30from different walks of life
00:45:31that sound different
00:45:32and can also educate me
00:45:34while I'm educating them as well.
00:45:35So this is like the most fun job.
00:45:37It's good to be back.
00:45:38I missed it.
00:45:39I feel like Kelly put in the least amount of work on that one
00:45:41and totally just took it.
00:45:43Kelly's team is full.
00:45:44Now it's down to me and Adam.
00:45:46We have to fill our teams
00:45:47and I'm still looking for greatness.
00:45:49Let's win the voice.
00:45:51Let's go.
00:45:52You got it.
00:45:53Go get them, girl.
00:45:56I'm Grace Humphries.
00:45:57I'm 18 and I'm from Austin, Texas.
00:46:00If I had to describe myself,
00:46:02I do feel like an old soul.
00:46:03My music sound is country pop folk.
00:46:06My mom always said,
00:46:08you could be like the next Joni Mitchell.
00:46:11I have a joke that I'm Grandma Grace.
00:46:13I like that, Grandma Grace.
00:46:18I've been singing ever since I can remember.
00:46:20My brother Liam,
00:46:22we used to sing in the house all the time.
00:46:24We would dance together in the living room.
00:46:27We were 19 months apart.
00:46:29He was very protective of me
00:46:31and he was my best friend.
00:46:34In March of 2015, when my brother was nine,
00:46:38he got diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer.
00:46:42He went through chemo, radiation.
00:46:46It was very surreal seeing that your big brother
00:46:51always be strong.
00:46:59He passed nine days before his tenth birthday.
00:47:04I will never stop marching to reach you
00:47:11in the middle of the heart.
00:47:14Even though it's been 10 years,
00:47:16those types of things stay with you forever.
00:47:20Liam and Grace's relationship was extremely tight.
00:47:23There's a video of them pretending like
00:47:25they're having a singing competition.
00:47:27Look at the camera like you're on TV.
00:47:29I just know that he's here right now.
00:47:32I'm sorry.
00:47:38Music was a unique way to process the loss.
00:47:42I started writing songs
00:47:44and my first song I wrote was about my brother.
00:47:47Nothing is the same without you.
00:47:51I will rescue you.
00:48:00I know my brother would be proud that I was here.
00:48:04I'm excited for my parents to experience something happy.
00:48:14All right now.
00:48:22Rose and flows of angels in ice-cream castles in the air.
00:48:30And feathered hammy ends everywhere.
00:48:36The clouds that came out.
00:48:40But now they only block the sun.
00:48:45The rain and snow on everyone.
00:48:48So many things I would have done.
00:48:54The clouds caught in my way.
00:48:59I've looked at clouds from both sides now.
00:49:03From up and down.
00:49:05And still somehow it's cloud illusions.
00:49:10I recall.
00:49:12I really don't know clouds at all.
00:49:23It's like solutions I recall.
00:49:28I really don't know why.
00:49:36I don't know why.
00:49:46All right.
00:49:49Hi.
00:49:53Hello.
00:49:54Hello.
00:49:55Welcome to Team Legend.
00:49:56What's your name?
00:49:58I'm Grace Humphreys.
00:49:59I'm 18 years old and I'm from Austin, Texas.
00:50:01Grace from Austin.
00:50:04Can I just say I literally visualized you looking exactly how you're looking.
00:50:09Our flower child.
00:50:11I just love that vibe and that spirit.
00:50:14And I heard your voice and your tone and the way you just kind of graced the stage.
00:50:20And I'm like, I want you on my team.
00:50:23So I pushed my button pretty early.
00:50:25I feel like you got a little bit shaken once I pushed the button, which happens.
00:50:29But I'm so excited to work with you.
00:50:31You have such a beautiful voice, beautiful stage presence.
00:50:34And we're going to have a lot of fun together on Team Legend.
00:50:37Yeah.
00:50:38Grace, that was so beautiful.
00:50:39And thank you for playing that song.
00:50:41That's just one of those songs that is not performed enough because it's one of the best ever.
00:50:46I'm being super, super honest.
00:50:48Like I did hear some pitch stuff that is what held me back.
00:50:51He can help you because I think that when it was working, it was really just so beautiful.
00:50:57And I really just applaud your taste in music and your voice and all of it.
00:51:01And I'm really happy that you're on.
00:51:02Thank you so much.
00:51:04Congratulations.
00:51:05I always love seeing a Texas girl make it, obviously.
00:51:08So you're on Team Legend.
00:51:10Let's go.
00:51:10Thank you so much.
00:51:12Grace has gorgeous tone, really great control.
00:51:15Welcome, Grace.
00:51:16So nice to meet you.
00:51:18I really believe Grace is going to be a great artist for me to coach.
00:51:21Wow.
00:51:21Hello.
00:51:22Hi.
00:51:23How are you?
00:51:24I'm great.
00:51:24Nice to meet you.
00:51:25What a pleasure.
00:51:27My team is shaping up beautifully.
00:51:30This is so cool.
00:51:31I really can't believe that I'm here auditioning.
00:51:36It's really a dream come true.
00:51:39Even though I've been doing music for a long time, this is just different than anything
00:51:44I've ever done.
00:51:46I work part time at a sauna studio.
00:51:50I love folding the towels.
00:51:52I love being able to use the sauna.
00:51:54But I do hope to work full time in music soon.
00:51:59You gave me the kiss of life.
00:52:03Kiss of life.
00:52:09Kiss of life.
00:52:10You gave me the kiss of life.
00:52:12Oh.
00:52:13Kiss of life.
00:52:19You gave me the kiss of life.
00:52:23Your tone is so beautiful.
00:52:25You approached the song with a lot of style and I really enjoyed your performance and I get you all
00:52:32to myself
00:52:32So welcome to team legend
00:52:38I feel like the other coaches are gonna regret not turning for Natasha and we'll take advantage of her not
00:52:43-so-secret weapon
00:52:44Which is that beautiful smooth buttery tone and we'll just live in that. We got a jersey for you
00:52:52I am feeling so excited right now. I wanted to be on team legend all along
00:53:01I'm up for a battle in the Battle of Champions and I'm ready
00:53:08I love your cheering section over there like legend legend I have one final spot on my team
00:53:15I'm looking for a powerhouse especially a female powerhouse because I want somebody
00:53:19Who can soulfully sing it down. I swear to god. I had that same outfit not you know now. It's
00:53:24all back again
00:53:27It's crazy. I have two more spots now. It's just me and John duking it out
00:53:33Cannot believe we're here right now. There are a few stages bigger than this and I've been around some big
00:53:39musical acts
00:53:40Because my dad is a member of take six, which is a ten-time Grammy award-winning acapella group
00:53:47As a kid, you know, I was backstage of Stevie Wonder
00:53:49There was Britney Spears at the soundstage. That was the bar from the beginning of time for me
00:53:54So to turn a chair would make my dad extremely proud and I'm ready to take the next step
00:54:00Coming up
00:54:03With teams starting to fill up
00:54:07The artists bring their a-game
00:54:18The voice over I don't understand what just happened Kelly's hurting right now. You literally broke her
00:54:35Welcome back to the voice
00:54:41How are you feeling?
00:54:43Feeling good. I can't believe this is real right now
00:54:46This morning I was getting ready, but thank god wardrobe had my stuff because I forget everything
00:54:50Mom brain. My name is Drew Russell. I'm 32 years old and I'm a full-time mom
00:54:56My son guy not to brag is the cutest child ever born. He's a very strong-willed comedian
00:55:05What are you trying to do?
00:55:06We call him sir. He's the client in our household, so I mean he's hilarious
00:55:10It's been truly the greatest joy of my life is spending time with him becoming a parent has changed everything
00:55:15It kind of rocks you back into your purpose
00:55:18Drew is an incredible mother. She's the sort of glue that holds the whole family together
00:55:26It's real
00:55:26Here they are
00:55:27Music has always been part of my life when I went to college I did a couple gigs here and
00:55:32there
00:55:32But kind of put things on pause for a little while went the corporate route
00:55:36It was my way of like ensuring my safety net build the step and then jump off
00:55:42The question is are you ready to take your place on the wall? I think i'm ready
00:55:47To be able to perform on the voice you know on national television is really major for me
00:55:52I don't want to look 10 20 years down the road and my child see me come home from work
00:55:58Just burnt out and unhappy and what i'm doing you know
00:56:01I want to be an example to him the stakes are even higher on a personal level due to
00:56:05Having a parent that was a busy working musician as a member of take six
00:56:10This is putting me into a space where I can really put myself out there in a serious way and
00:56:14see how far
00:56:15I can take this i'm really excited for the challenge
00:56:22I feel so bad i've got a worried mind
00:56:28I'm so lonesome all the time
00:56:33Since i left my baby behind
00:56:41I'm going back
00:56:44I'm going back
00:56:45I'm going back
00:57:09I'm going back
00:57:11We see
00:57:12That familiar sunrise
00:57:15Through sleepy eyes
00:57:17How happy i be
00:57:20Oh, the fire of mine, by my side
00:57:27The silver moon and the evening tide
00:57:33Will never be blue, my dreams come true
00:57:40On blue by you
00:57:50On blue by you
00:57:56On blue by you
00:58:00Hello, hi
00:58:02What is your name?
00:58:03My name is Drew Russell, I'm 32 years old and I'm from Los Angeles
00:58:06I'm so happy Drew that I found my way to you and I don't have to deal with them and
00:58:11like honestly
00:58:13Because I really think you're special
00:58:15You struggled with a little bit right in the beginning?
00:58:18For sure, yeah, I'm like always trying to find the tips
00:58:19Yeah, I heard you trying to find it
00:58:21I don't care about that
00:58:22Like to me that happens to everybody
00:58:24But the good news is that you really salvaged the performance and I think that what's awesome and I'm so
00:58:29happy that I turned around is like
00:58:30This will get a lot better for you and I think you're a lot better than your blind audition suggested
00:58:34And you picked like one of the biggest songs like the biggest range ever
00:58:39Totally
00:58:39That's a huge song
00:58:40That's a super ambitious song
00:58:43That's a really ambitious song
00:58:44I think you're gonna fare well in the competition because of that
00:58:47To have that kind of fearlessness to go man I wanna go baby I wanna go home you know what
00:58:50I'm saying
00:58:51And also your outfit is so cute
00:58:55Thank you
00:58:55I turned around and I was like how do I get one
00:58:58Thank you
00:59:00Adam's right you really turned it around and your voice is so beautiful
00:59:05Thank you
00:59:06And it has such clarity and it really feels good and sounds good
00:59:11Your taste in music works really well for this season because we don't really have other artists that are in
00:59:16that lane
00:59:17It's only gonna get so much better from here with you so welcome to my team
00:59:23Welcome to the show
00:59:24Welcome to the show

00:59:29I've nobody like Drew on my team she's an awesome singer
00:59:31Thank you
00:59:31My team is almost full
00:59:33Now I just wanna be inspired and moved in the moment that's all I care about
00:59:36Team Adam
00:59:39Is that mine?
00:59:40No this is mine
00:59:41I'll keep it in
00:59:45One more spot
00:59:46One more spot
00:59:46One more
00:59:47One more spot
00:59:49One more spot
00:59:50I have one more spot
00:59:51The pressure's on
00:59:52I want somebody that when I hear that voice I'm like there's no way I can't turn
00:59:56One more spot
00:59:59We're gonna celebrate yeah
01:00:01The clock is ticking down on the blind auditions
01:00:03Now there's just one last matter of business
01:00:06Who will John and Adam find to finalize their rosters?
01:00:09I mean who would you pick as a coach?
01:00:11That's a good question
01:00:11I mean Adam had to lead
01:00:13John kinda showed some fight and fought back in
01:00:15I'm definitely looking forward to it
01:00:18You know we're so proud of you
01:00:19And everybody in New Jersey's gonna be watching
01:00:21Jersey, Jersey, Jersey, Jersey
01:00:24My name is Syd Millivoy
01:00:26I am 23 years old and I am from Secaucus, New Jersey
01:00:29Okay quiet on set, quiet on set
01:00:31Everybody quiet
01:00:32Try to film
01:00:33That's who I am
01:00:34That's who I am
01:00:35My house is like organized chaos
01:00:39Big Italian family
01:00:40Four bedroom kind of house
01:00:41But we made it work for seven people
01:00:43I call it you know like a clown car
01:00:45Like the clown house
01:00:47This is my room
01:00:48I'm in the garage
01:00:50As you can see
01:00:52There's always noise happening
01:00:54There's always noise happening
01:00:55The TV is blaring
01:00:57Who's yelling from the kitchen
01:00:59And usually when it's quiet
01:01:01You get a little nervous
01:01:03Like why is it quiet?
01:01:05When I was about ten my parents split
01:01:07And then me, my mom and my brothers
01:01:10Had to move in with my grandparents and my uncle
01:01:13And we never left
01:01:16So
01:01:18My mom is an opera singer
01:01:20Very, very talented
01:01:22When you first opened your mouth
01:01:23I knew it
01:01:24I said this girl's gonna go somewhere with that voice
01:01:26That's where I got it from
01:01:28Well
01:01:29Right now I sing in a wedding band
01:01:31And it's so crazy to be on season 29 of The Voice
01:01:35I've been watching the show forever
01:01:37And to be here
01:01:38It makes me really emotional just because
01:01:41When I was little I never thought that it could be attainable
01:01:44I would watch everybody on this show
01:01:46And I would want to be them
01:01:48I didn't know that one day I would be them
01:01:51I thought it would forever just live in my dreams
01:01:54But dreams do come true
01:01:56To be here living it
01:01:58And singing Mama Knows Best by Jessie J
01:02:01Especially having my mom here
01:02:03Yeah, it means the world
01:02:05So
01:02:07I am so nervous
01:02:08Teams are filling up quick
01:02:11I'm trying not to think about it
01:02:13If I get a chair turn
01:02:15From one of them
01:02:16It would just be
01:02:17The greatest thing in the world
01:02:31Welcome back to the final night
01:02:33Of The Blind Auditions
01:02:41Oh
01:02:42There is something going down
01:02:46Like the storm in the sky
01:02:49Oh
01:02:50Hey
01:02:51Hey
01:02:52Gonna be played
01:02:53By your behaviour
01:02:55How can I trust someone who's
01:02:58Crying to me
01:03:00So
01:03:00Come
01:03:01Go
01:03:02Now I step back and live
01:03:04I step
01:03:05Take your stuff and go
01:03:07Cause
01:03:07You're not going to need
01:03:09No
01:03:10I'm in a bus
01:03:11When
01:03:12Can't get up
01:03:13Love
01:03:14And Papa always has a choice
01:03:17To make me alive
01:03:18See love
01:03:20See love with no best
01:03:21When
01:03:21I feel down
01:03:23So
01:03:24Bring me up
01:03:25And
01:03:25Always keep my feet
01:03:27On the ground
01:03:29Yeah
01:03:30Hey
01:03:31Just be the best of my
01:03:33That I need
01:03:34Time to be

01:03:37Always use your
01:03:37As your
01:03:38Therapy
01:03:39Yeah
01:03:40So
01:03:41Never take love
01:03:42So
01:03:43Seriously
01:03:44Just to you
01:03:45Cause you do you
01:03:47So
01:03:47Perfectly
01:03:49Yeah
01:03:53Hey
01:03:54Hey
01:03:54Hey
01:03:56Oh
01:03:57Oh
01:03:58Yeah
01:03:59Say mama
01:04:00Mama knows best
01:04:02She daddy
01:04:02Daddy knows best
01:04:04Be
01:04:04Buh
01:04:14Hey
01:04:16Hey
01:04:29That was crazy
01:04:31I am so mad right now.
01:04:34I'm so wide awake right now.
01:04:36I'm so wide awake.
01:04:37Did you just win the voice?
01:04:39Penel, is the voice over?
01:04:43My team is full.
01:04:46And like, I don't understand what just happened.
01:04:50How old are you?
01:04:51I'm 23 years old.
01:04:52I'm so angry.
01:04:54What is your name?
01:04:56My name is Sid Miliboy, and I'm from Secaucus, New Jersey.
01:05:00Secaucus.
01:05:01I need a glass of wine brought out right now.
01:05:05Me too.
01:05:06I'm like the opposite of angry, super stoked.
01:05:10That's like the quintessential meaning of this show is what you just did.
01:05:14And I cannot do that.
01:05:17So I can appreciate when someone can.
01:05:19Your vocal pierced through this audience and shook us all to our core.
01:05:23There's that sense of soul and urgency and passion.
01:05:26Your type of performing is a lost art form that I feel like needs to
01:05:30be thrust back into the spotlight.
01:05:32I am a fan.
01:05:33I am blown away by what you do.
01:05:34And I got to coach you.
01:05:37Thank you so much.
01:05:38I'm in awe right now.
01:05:40And I literally have one spot left on my team.
01:05:42And I'm like, you were sent from heaven, Sid, to kill that final spot.
01:05:48And you can win this competition.
01:05:55Kelly's hurting right now.
01:05:57You literally broke her.
01:05:58I am so sad.
01:06:01She is broken.
01:06:03I love you.
01:06:04Are you kidding?
01:06:05Oh yeah.
01:06:05I think you would have had a major chance.
01:06:07Part of what I like to do is find out about you.
01:06:10What have you been up to musically?
01:06:12And like, what do you see for your career?
01:06:15I'm a songwriter.
01:06:16I write all my own stuff.
01:06:18But by night, I'm a wedding singer.
01:06:21I sing at everybody's weddings.
01:06:22So you cover the gamuts.
01:06:24Yeah.
01:06:25You may want to do a song that's more in the singer songwriter vein,
01:06:29since you're a singer songwriter,
01:06:30to present yourself to the world and say,
01:06:33this is the kind of artist I am.
01:06:34Yeah.
01:06:35You mentioned like, where you sing.
01:06:37What's your vibe?
01:06:38So I'm just curious.
01:06:39Like, where you pull from?
01:06:40As a kid, my mom, she always had Mariah Carey on in the house.
01:06:44She always had Whitney Houston on in the house.
01:06:45Oh my god.
01:06:46Alicia Keys.
01:06:47Sure.
01:06:48So that's just why I listen to you.
01:06:49I love Ariana Grande.
01:06:52She's like, check out my ponytail.
01:06:54I love her down.
01:06:56I heard some of her in you also.
01:06:58Oh my god.
01:06:58We clearly are very, very, very, very into the idea of coaching you.
01:07:04Oh, obsessed.
01:07:05Obsessed with the idea.
01:07:06So let's ask.
01:07:06Let's let Kelly ask the question.
01:07:08Sid, who do you pick as your coach?
01:07:12Ah, come on.
01:07:13Come on.
01:07:16Come on.
01:07:17Come on.
01:07:19Come on, Sid.
01:07:21Please.
01:07:24I'm going to have to go with Team John.
01:07:26She said that I must be good.
01:07:30I'll give you good.
01:07:32I knew it.
01:07:34Ah!
01:07:35I'm so happy.
01:07:36Oh my god.
01:07:37You really are that good.
01:07:39Like, we don't say that to everybody.
01:07:40Like, you are that good.
01:07:42That's it.
01:07:43It's Team Cole.
01:07:44Kelly is truly broken up that she can't pick you.
01:07:47Wow.
01:07:48How is Sid not available for Kelly?
01:07:52Kelly's in so much pain right now.
01:07:55But Kelly's loss is our gain.
01:07:57You are crazy.
01:07:59She came out here and just knocked our socks off.
01:08:02It was incredible.
01:08:03This is my mom.
01:08:04I never cared so much.
01:08:06I feel like the voice owed me this karmic favor.
01:08:09Sid is completing Team Legend.
01:08:12Woo!
01:08:13Thank you, Sid.
01:08:13I can't wait.
01:08:14I picked John because the things that he was saying
01:08:17just really stuck with me.
01:08:18He was talking about my songwriting and how I could present as an artist.
01:08:23And I think that's really cool.
01:08:24Woo!
01:08:26Congratulations.
01:08:28My team is full.
01:08:35I got a song I want to sing.
01:08:38We got to bring it back.
01:08:40Yeah.
01:08:43Oh, I had to fight for you.
01:08:46I put it all on the line for you.
01:08:50Welcome to Team Legend.
01:08:53Welcome to Team Legend.
01:08:56We've got quite a range on Team Legend this season.
01:09:00I've got two country artists.
01:09:01I've got R&B artists.
01:09:03I've got soulful pop.
01:09:05We've got such a nice diversity of interest among Team Legend.
01:09:09And I am ready to take the battle of champions.
01:09:13Welcome to Team Legend.
01:09:17Champion.
01:09:18Oh, my God.
01:09:19Strong Legend.
01:09:22Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:09:28My team is full.
01:09:32John filled his team and now it's just me.
01:09:34Rule of me.
01:09:35Tell me she was always going to pick John and I had no chance.
01:09:38Just tell me that.
01:09:39You know, the Lord works in mysterious ways.
01:09:42I don't know what you guys are upset about, honestly.
01:09:44Shut your face.
01:09:46He's like, what's the big deal?
01:09:56Welcome back to The Voice Battle of Champions.
01:10:01Oh, my God.
01:10:03I may have just got the winner of The Voice.
01:10:05Sid was incredible.
01:10:06She's literally the best singer we've heard.
01:10:09I would be furious if I were you.
01:10:11Kelly is upset, y'all.
01:10:12She may need to be talked off the ledge, but I fought to the finish.
01:10:16Sid, oh, you saved my season.
01:10:19The Voice is over.
01:10:19Yeah.
01:10:20He just won.
01:10:21And I don't feel bad anymore about the Super Steel.
01:10:28My buddy gave me the nickname Disco Dan in third grade.
01:10:32I've always been able to move pretty well.
01:10:34And my first ever CD I owned was Earth, Wind and Fire.
01:10:37So I'm assuming there's some kind of connection there.
01:10:40My name is Daniel Sovich.
01:10:41I grew up in Aurora, Ohio.
01:10:42Now I'm down in Nashville, Tennessee.
01:10:45I started out with my schooling at NYU.
01:10:47Freshman year was a musical theater major.
01:10:49And I was really fortunate.
01:10:51Got set up with some awesome auditions.
01:10:54By the end of college, I had booked my first professional pro gig.
01:10:57The musical Almost Famous as the lead.
01:11:00That was my dream as a kid.
01:11:01To be in a Broadway musical, it really started feeling like
01:11:04we're launching into this.
01:11:06Things are going to start moving from here.
01:11:07And then we were all set to open in spring of 2020.
01:11:11And then that's when COVID hit.
01:11:13Everything shut down and suddenly I cannot live in the city.
01:11:18So I went back to Nashville and I've been there for almost five years now.
01:11:21I'm not going to sit here and say like,
01:11:23I've never gone into one of those spirals being like,
01:11:25why am I doing this?
01:11:26Why am I still here doing this?
01:11:27But then one of those times you pick yourself back up,
01:11:31the right person walks into the bar you're singing at and is like,
01:11:33dude, you should come audition for The Voice.
01:11:39Very surreal.
01:11:40Oh my God, I can't believe we're here.
01:11:44These three coaches are champions.
01:11:47It would be amazing to work with any of them.
01:11:49I will be pumped if one chair spins around.
01:11:51I will be over the moon.
01:11:52The teams are filling up.
01:11:54So the stakes are high, but I have been paying my dues.
01:11:57And I hope this is my chance to say, I did it.
01:12:13I love this song so much.
01:12:15You never let me down before.
01:12:22I took the good times.
01:12:25I'll take the bad times.
01:12:27I'll take you just the way you are.
01:12:35I need to know that you will always be the same old someone that I knew.
01:12:47Oh, what will it take till you believe in me the way that I believe in you?
01:12:59Oh, I said I love you, and that's forever, this I promise from the heart.
01:13:12Oh, I couldn't love you any better.
01:13:22I love you just the way you are.
01:13:52Oh, what's your name?
01:13:53I'm Daniel Sovich.
01:13:54I'm 28 from Nashville.
01:13:56Oh, man.
01:13:58Daniel, I know this is not what you wanted.
01:14:00This sucks when this happens.
01:14:01It felt more Broadway than like anything else for me.
01:14:05But you have a great voice.
01:14:07I don't know about y'all, but it felt a little more that for me.
01:14:09It did feel theatrical at times, and I don't think that's a bad thing.
01:14:12But the vocal has a certain understatedness to it that when you lose that,
01:14:16sometimes it can make it a different thing.
01:14:17And so it kind of got me outside of it, but I wanted to turn a bunch of times.
01:14:21Your range is awesome.
01:14:22Appreciate that, yeah.
01:14:23One of the things Michael would always say, he talks about not overusing the vibrato,
01:14:27even when you're doing those songs that kind of make you think that you should do vibrato.
01:14:34Your performance was flawless when it came to pitch.
01:14:36You have a powerful instrument.
01:14:37So it's just about making the right artistic choices to be more effective as a performer.
01:14:43And so I think that's something you could correct and come back and sing another song.
01:14:46Yes, sir.
01:14:47Appreciate you, brother. Thank you.
01:14:48Come back and do it again, for sure.
01:14:49So please come back.
01:14:52I just love that song so much.
01:14:54My team is almost full.
01:14:55The point of the competition is to reward the people that have these special gifts.
01:14:59And just waiting for my special person to round out team Adam.
01:15:03It doesn't feel heartfelt.
01:15:03You've got to be more conversational.
01:15:05Exactly.
01:15:05That's how you pull it off.
01:15:06Yeah.
01:15:07You're going to go with Adam?
01:15:09I like Adam.
01:15:10He could do a new tattoo.
01:15:12A new tattoo.
01:15:13And since we're a Navy family, anchors would be something.
01:15:18Oh, that's pretty good.
01:15:18You know what I'm saying?
01:15:19I'm Jared Shoemaker.
01:15:20I'm 32 years old and I'm from Richmond, Kentucky.
01:15:23In 2012, I decided to join the Navy.
01:15:26I was on the USS George H.W. Bush.
01:15:29Our main goal was to carry all kinds of helicopters and cargo planes and of course fighter jets.
01:15:36And when you get to the ship, the least ranking person usually has toilet duty.
01:15:40I had to make sure throughout the day that the toilets were clean, which was crazy.
01:15:46Then I finally got an opportunity to work on all kinds of machinery.
01:15:50We'd rebuild pumps, boilers, air compressors.
01:15:53It definitely was a very tough job.
01:15:55We worked a lot of hours.
01:15:56When you're working that much, it'll suck the soul out of you.
01:16:00And I read on a magazine, sing and release endorphins in your brain and it makes you happy.
01:16:05I had a whole room to myself at the belly of the boat and I just started singing.
01:16:10I could sing as loud as I want.
01:16:11Everybody would bring their guitars down there and we'd have big jam sessions.
01:16:15It literally brought my spirits up.
01:16:17I went nine months singing every day and I realized that I think I had a voice.
01:16:21When he got out of the military, we would go to some of his little gigs.
01:16:27And we're like, oh my gosh, our boy can sing.
01:16:33When I got out of the Navy, I just started gigging and my band's called Marshall.
01:16:38We've been gigging for 10, 20 people and then we've moved on to playing massive clubs.
01:16:43We got to open up for Diamond Rio, one of my favorite 90s country bands.
01:16:51So we're playing music full time now, traveling the country.
01:16:54One of our favorite venues is a horse festival.
01:16:57We ride horses all day and then we play music.
01:16:59I kind of worked away my younger years doing nothing but demanding jobs.
01:17:04So it's kind of fun to be around the things I missed out on while I was in the Navy.
01:17:10It's the final night of the blind auditions.
01:17:12Teams are filling up.
01:17:13There's never been a season with fewer spots available.
01:17:16It gets you a little nervous, but I've been in plenty of different
01:17:19situations where the stress is high.
01:17:21So I'm ready to get on that stage.
01:17:32Welcome back to The Voice Battle of Champions.
01:17:36Last one.
01:17:38Oh my God, y'all, we're done almost.
01:17:40I know, that's crazy.
01:17:49Well, it's been some time Oh, you still look like an angel
01:17:58I heard you're doing fine Got promoted back in April
01:18:06Oh, nice.

01:19:34My name is Jared Shoemaker. I'm 32 from Richmond, Kentucky
01:19:37I'm so happy right now because their teams are full
01:19:40We couldn't turn they couldn't turn that is perfectly fine
01:19:44The subtle simplicity of your voice is so refreshing and the emotion and the little breaks of your voice that
01:19:50I love so much
01:19:51I mean you just have one of those great voices and man
01:19:54I just don't have anybody like you on my team. It's gonna be really fun. I'm gonna do your eyes

01:20:23It's fun because this season we all have country artists on our teams
01:20:27So I think it's gonna be fun to kind of break up that country monopoly that our country coaches would
01:20:34often have on the show
01:20:35Some people can hit the notes, but they don't have like a style
01:20:39And I really felt like you had that and I would have totally pushed if I had a spot on
01:20:44my team because I just felt like you
01:20:46Really can sing man. Adam's very lucky that he got you all to himself
01:20:50And listen imagine like I'm like Blake Shelton, but better
