00:30The two-game road trip after a Saturday loss in San Antonio tonight at the Kia Center.
00:35It's the Indiana Pacers and the Orlando Magic on FanDuel Sports Network.
00:41Pascal Siakam missed six games with a right knee sprain.
00:44He played Saturday against the Spurs.
00:46He's averaging 25 points, shooting 50% over the last six games.
00:51You can see what he's done in his Pacers career.
00:54Andrew Nembhardt had 25 points, seven assists in San Antonio.
00:57He's had 10 20-point games in his last 20.
01:01He is sixth in the league in assists.
01:03The Magic have lost four straight, fallen to eighth in the East.
01:07That's a play-in slot.
01:09Injuries have hurt, but Paolo Banqueiro leads the way.
01:1222 points, eight and a half rebounds, and five assists.
01:16Coming up, we'll show you how they choose the game ball each night in the NBA.
01:22It's a Monday night in Orlando, and the Pacers and the Magic are next on FanDuel Sports Network.
01:34One of the important tasks the referees coordinate before every game, the selection of the game ball.
01:40Wanted to share an inside look at the process with you right now.
01:53We present three-game balls, three-game NBA basketballs to each team prior to the game.
01:58Each team has a player that comes to the center circle and goes over the basketballs.
02:03They're each checking the basketball.
02:04You know, they're dribbling it.
02:06They're feeling it.
02:06Most of the players, in my experience, are looking for a game used, a worn basketball.
02:11You know, they don't want something brand new and shiny, and they want something with not a ton of air
02:16in it.
02:17And we usually put between seven and a half to eight and a half pounds of pressure in a basketball.
02:22Those are the guidelines that we have.
02:23So most guys will go closer to seven and a half, you know, instead of going eight and a half.
02:28Otherwise, the ball's bouncing around the rim.
02:31The players don't like it.
02:32The ball's not going in.
02:32And so those are kind of our guidelines.
02:34If they can agree on one, great.
02:37And that's what happens most of the time.
02:38And so if they can't, if player A1 picks one basketball and player B1 picks another basketball,
02:44we then say, okay, if you guys can't agree, then the third basketball is the one that will be used
02:48for the game.
02:49And they all know the process, and they know that 99% of the time they agree on the basketball.
02:54And already we have an issue with the ball, maybe?
02:56It wasn't to the liking of Kevin Durant.
02:58Wow, who picked it out?
02:59Kevin Durant didn't like the ball.
03:01We can only play with one, Scott.
03:02It's customary, Dale.
03:03What's happening?
03:04No, no, that's normally taken care of way before the just ball.
03:08Scott's trying to foster a positive environment.
03:11Sometimes what can happen is both players agree on a basketball that isn't in these three.
03:16You know, they're brought in by the home team, by the equipment manager for the home team,
03:19presumably picked by the players from that team.
03:23And so if you have a situation where both players are telling you, no, we like the ball, this fifth
03:27ball, you know,
03:27okay, we're not going to legislate too hard against that.
03:32But we do have to now bring that back into the locker room and check it for air to make
03:36sure it's between 7 1⁄2 and 8 1⁄2 pounds.
03:43Thanks to Zach Zarba for helping us celebrate and educate this great game.
03:49We'll have the starting lineups and tip-off from Orlando after the short timeout.
03:53Orlando, Florida, Pacers and the Magic for the third time this year.
03:58Orlando won in Indianapolis on New Year's Eve, 1-12, 1-10.
04:02And then an eight-point win just a few days later, January 4th, 1-35, 1-27.
04:08In both instances, Pacers had a chance to win.
04:11They've used 41 different starting lineups.
04:14This is not a different one.
04:15The fourth time, Walker, Siakam, Huff, Neesmith, and Nemhard will start for the Pacers.
04:22And that'll be the five with Jay Huff in the middle.
04:26Again, Ivica Zubats is out for the year with that fractured rib.
04:31For the Orlando Magic, they have some injury issues as well.
04:3538 and 32, currently eighth in the East.
04:38Tristan DaSilva, Paolo Banqueiro, Wendell Carter Jr. up front.
04:42Desmond Bain and Javon Carter will start.
04:45Just their 14th different starting lineup.
04:47They are 28th in the league in that category.
04:50They've got two starters out.
04:51Franz Wagner has missed most of the year with a high left ankle sprain.
04:56And Jalen Suggs, their starting point guard, is out due to illness.
05:00So this is a Magic team that, under Jamal Mosley,
05:05tried to make the playoffs for a third straight year.
05:07Long-time assistant win to Rick Carlisle in Dallas.
05:11Yeah, and I think he's done a good job.
05:12What they really have to manage is Franz Wagner.
05:15That's the guy who really hurts Jamal Mosley in their team.
05:19But, Chris, they're playing for something.
05:20Yes.
05:21Even in their division, they're only like two games.
05:24You know, their fall four teams are within two games of the lead there.
05:28So they're playing for something.
05:30They're trying to figure out what their rhythm is going to be
05:32because they have been able to keep their guards consistently on the floor
05:35in addition to Franz Wagner.
05:37To your point, a four-game losing streak, they went from fifth to eighth.
05:40That's exactly right.
05:41Yeah, it doesn't take much.
05:42So expect them to play with terrific energy.
05:46And I'm anxious to see the Pacers do that and more.
05:49And that's the Pacers the remainder of the year.
05:51As you look at their schedule, they can play spoiler,
05:54whether it's Western Conference teams this week,
05:58Orlando tonight, Miami at home next Sunday.
06:01Plenty of opportunity there.
06:02Magic have it.
06:04Jairus got lost, and that really is what threw this play.
06:06I mean, because the silver runs very easily.
06:09Walker got lost on the strong side.
06:11And by the time he chased in, it was too late.
06:14The ball is delivered and made.
06:15That's the bucket is made.
06:16Javon Carter is starting his first game with Orlando,
06:19his 19th game with the Magic,
06:21after playing in Chicago and a bank in for Nembhardt.
06:25He's got control.
06:26Andrew Nembhardt's had games of 19 and 20
06:29against the Magic this year
06:31and assist numbers of 7 and 11.
06:34You're going to have to look to get into this,
06:37into Vencaro.
06:38He's got a big body, and it's a problem.
06:41Oh.
06:42And in the corner, Vencaro's three is short.
06:45Rebound by Walker.
06:46Didn't do that well.
06:47Yeah, you'd rather have him take that perimeter shot.
06:50Here's Nembhardt, back-to-back baskets.
06:53He goes into Carter, Jr., who's got eyes on him
06:57and just reads space.
06:59Nembhardt was 8 of 13 in San Antonio on Saturday night.
07:03Lay down.
07:06Sorry, partner.
07:07It's 4-4.
07:08Nembhardt 4, Carter 4.
07:10Yeah.
07:11And here, Nembhardt didn't feel the pressure coming behind him
07:14and lost the ball.
07:16De Silva for 3.
07:19When the points off turnovers,
07:21that was an issue Saturday night in San Antonio.
07:2322 points.
07:25Look, you know as well as I do.
07:26That's always going to be an issue.
07:28You can't turn it over.
07:31And Siakam inside draws the foul.
07:36I mean, right there.
07:37And Rick Carlisle just told Jay to stay down
07:39because if you don't, that's what can happen.
07:41The ball fake.
07:43He is so anxious.
07:44This is one of the things about shot blockers.
07:45They get anxious to get a block.
07:48Not conscientious about whether they lead or not,
07:50but, you know, subconsciously, I would imagine so.
07:52And he lifted enough that you got a basket at the rim.
07:57He being Jay.
08:00Siakam had 14 points and 5 assists Saturday night.
08:05Last 6, he's averaging 25.
08:07Remember, he missed 6 straight games.
08:08He was injured in Portland, suffered that knee sprain,
08:12and sat out a while.
08:13We saw him for the first time Saturday night.
08:17Based on how we saw him on the airplane,
08:19he needed to miss at least 6 games.
08:237-6.
08:24I'm not medical, but I can make the argument.
08:26He may have come back a lot faster than most people,
08:29I'm telling you.
08:30Yeah, he does not like to miss games.
08:32He's a great partner.
08:34And Wendell Carter is called for the foul.
08:37That's because of good defensive effort by Neesmith.
08:41Look, look at this.
08:42He's chasing.
08:43You see that to try to create space, they had to foul.
08:48I mean, there wasn't much else they could do
08:49because defensively, you had a nice job
08:51being done by Neesmith.
08:54Carter Jr. had no choice.
08:55They turn over for each team here early.
08:58Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh.
09:00He mishandled the ball because he had it.
09:05Shot clock at 10.
09:10Nembar, and lost the ball.
09:16Silva back the other way.
09:21Carter has had four straight double-figure games
09:24getting his first start.
09:25Got to help.
09:26He's too big.
09:27Yeah, he's too big.
09:28The guy's 6'10".
09:32And the foul is on Nembar.
09:36Remember a couple of years ago here,
09:38Ben Carroll had a 50-point game against the Pacers.
09:41He can get big numbers.
09:43What he's trying to figure out, Chris, is, you know,
09:45you and I do this often, read articles, you know,
09:48on the various news feeds.
09:50He's trying to figure out the balance of when to take shots,
09:54when to make plays, when not to make plays.
09:56Given that 50-point game, he couldn't do that
09:59on a consistent basis.
10:00Jermon Mosley is trying to help him balance that
10:02to keep his teammates engaged as well.
10:05Well, they played without.
10:06Franz Wagner has played just 28 games at high ankle sprain.
10:10Over the last two years, their trio,
10:12who they've built around, Suggs, Boncaro, and Wagner,
10:16they have played 19 total games the last two years.
10:20There you go again with a nugget.
10:22Always good to have Joel from Magic Media Relations
10:27to share that.
10:28He brought that to the table.
10:29that said something about their inability to be consistent.
10:33And they added Desmond Bain with the trade
10:36with Memphis in the offseason.
10:38And so Orlando, 41-41 a year ago, seventh.
10:43They advanced from the play-in to the playoffs,
10:46two straight years, and now they're in a play-in situation
10:49right now.
10:49But as Quinn mentioned, five through nine is separated
10:52by a game or a game and a half.
10:53Yeah.
10:55There's no question.
10:56Nobody's rushing off with this.
10:57They're low on the shot clock.
10:59It changes on a nightly basis.
11:02That's half the fun.
11:04Yeah.
11:04When you know you're in a battle.
11:06When you think about last year,
11:07all those games were so important for the Pacers
11:09so they could get home court advantage in the first round.
11:12Yeah, exactly.
11:15And what you eventually want to do is get home court advantage
11:17through the entire playoff series.
11:20Siakam comes up with a steal after the bucket.
11:22And the Pacers have a chance to take the lead.
11:26Siakam's going to drive it on Carter
11:28and put it in.
11:30I mean, I love how he puts body on people.
11:32It looks like he's going to break up, but he hasn't yet.
11:36Quinn, I know both of us.
11:37We've just been so impressed with how he has handled the year.
11:40I mean, it's been so difficult, but it does not stop his motor.
11:44No, he's a pro.
11:45He just fights at all, you know, every opportunity.
11:52And now he's going to take it right to the basket again.
11:55No foul.
11:56He can't believe it.
11:57He's on the floor.
12:00Rick Carlisle in front of us.
12:01Can't believe there was no foul.
12:03Well, they're playing five on four
12:04because he had him cross the half court line.
12:06Oh, thank goodness that they didn't get the rebound.
12:08And now the Pacers play five on four.
12:10Bain late coming in.
12:12Walker for three.
12:13Got it.
12:16Jairus Walker made five of those on Saturday night,
12:20matching his season and career high.
12:22He had 21 points.
12:25Free throw line.
12:27That's short.
12:28Siakam the rebound.
12:30Ahead now to Nembhard.
12:31Takes it right at Carter.
12:33Call a foul on Carter.
12:35And it'll be free throws for Andrew Nembhard.
12:39And that's because you put some pressure on him
12:41when Carter coming down the court,
12:43and Andrew Nembhard is as good as, I tell you what,
12:45as good as anybody in basketball with that ability
12:48to put pressure on Carter and or his teammates.
12:50And the Pacers have scored seven straight and can add to that total with Nembhard at the line.
13:01There you see his numbers.
13:03Sixth in the NBA in assists at just over seven per game.
13:07And I don't know if he's actually got, you know, I don't know who would be the right group.
13:12But I believe the Pacer organization, particularly the staff from the basketball ops,
13:19can appreciate what Andrew Nembhard has done when you've asked him to have to increase his role dramatically.
13:26After Tyrese couldn't, you know, he's not able to play it.
13:29And he's been able to do what you saw there consistently.
13:32His assist numbers are up.
13:34And he had 17 and seven in this league.
13:37That's doing a heck of a job.
13:39He and Siakam each have six.
13:41And the Pacers lead it 15-9, a six-point advantage.
13:49Carter.
13:50Trouble.
13:50They didn't call him.
13:53Now Bain puts it up no good.
13:55Rebound tip.
13:55Pacers on the run.
13:57Going to lob it.
13:58Oh, I thought he was going to throw a lob to Andrew.
14:02Get in there.
14:02And that rolls in for Walker.
14:04Yeah, Drew was looking for the lob, but it didn't matter.
14:08They still got the bucket.
14:10Pacers have an eight-point lead.
14:12Drew was looking at him like, why didn't you throw it?
14:14Heard an eye you had.
14:16And he has to like what he's seen early.
14:1817-9 Pacers over the Magic at the Kia Center.
14:22After Saturday's game against the Spurs and before this game against the Magic,
14:26our own Kristen Aery asked Rick Carlisle a question about the offensive execution.
14:30He brought up those numbers over the last four games.
14:34James above 50% from the field, above 40% from three in each of those.
14:39And the answer both times, Chris, very similar.
14:42Rick Carlisle acknowledging the good shot making, shot selection, and the offensive improvement.
14:48But quick to say, we're focusing on defense.
14:51We need to be better on that end of the floor.
14:53So early on, Quinn, how have you seen the defense do a lot better?
14:58I think it's better connected.
14:59You know, there were a couple times there could have been some easy drives that the Pacers were able to
15:04cut off.
15:05I just, I think that they're just much more aggressive, as you can see on that play.
15:11Andrew Nembhard probably should have got a foul.
15:13But, okay, this is what you get out of it?
15:15If that's what you get, a guard taking that shot.
15:20That was tipped out by Neesmith.
15:22Jamal Cain is in for the first time.
15:25He is the first sub for Orlando.
15:29Jamal Mosley is making the claim, and he's 100% right.
15:32I'm telling you, Andrew Nembhard had both hands wrapped on Bain as he was trying to come off the screen.
15:41I think they're...
15:43Yeah, it's got to be 14 on the clock.
15:45It went to 10, and it can't...
15:47They're getting it back.
15:50That was Suyash Mehta who hands the ball now to Cain.
15:53Fourth year out of Oakland.
15:59Bain.
16:00Terrific three-point shot.
16:01Yeah, if he get you out of there, look.
16:04He can make some shots.
16:07And followed by Carter.
16:09And you can see Cain is active.
16:11And that's going to be a challenge the Pacers have got to deal with.
16:14But he missed it.
16:15Carter followed up.
16:16So you've got to put a body on him.
16:17And it's an 11-0 Pacers run.
16:22First time Indiana has led in the last three games.
16:25They never led in games against Portland and San Antonio.
16:30In fact, you have to go all the way back to the first half of the New York game last
16:34Tuesday for the last lead.
16:36And Carroll misses.
16:37Huff the rebound.
16:4117-11 Pacers by six.
16:45Walker against Cain.
16:47Good decision.
16:50He's...
16:51Carter anticipated that.
16:53It was the right idea.
16:54Play out of the pick and roll.
16:56That's off left.
16:58He's missed two of them badly, Bain.
17:00We had angles.
17:01They were not good when he let it fly.
17:04Here's a drive and a layup by Walker.
17:08Jairus Walker.
17:09Jairus Walker.
17:10Seven points.
17:11Six straight double-figure games and 11 of his last 12.
17:16Has really had a good third year out of Houston.
17:19Well, it usually takes you two and a half years to figure this out.
17:22I still think he's a long way from where he's going to be.
17:25Mancaro misses the three.
17:27Nemar.
17:28Charging early.
17:29Yep, nice job.
17:29Charged him early.
17:30Because there's no way Wendell Carter Jr. can turn and sprint back.
17:35His hip's just small-ready.
17:36And the Pacers have a 10-point lead.
17:3921-11.
17:41Mancaro blocked by Siakam.
17:43Knocked out of bounds.
17:44We're talking about defense.
17:46This is a classic example of the kind of things you have to do defensively
17:49when you've got Ben Carroll drive.
17:51Watch Andrew Nembhardt.
17:53He won't allow him to get the ball to his left.
17:55It forces the ball to the right hand, right into the hand of Siakam,
17:58who was able to get the block.
18:00Those are the kind of plays that you can do effectively helping one another.
18:05Saturday night, the Pacers gave up 42 first-quarter points in San Antonio.
18:11The Magic have scored 11.
18:15Substitutions for both teams.
18:17Obi Toppin, Micah Potter, TJ McConnell in for Indiana.
18:21Jet Howard.
18:22Former Pacer Goga Batase is in for Orlando.
18:27Got it.
18:29Got it.
18:31Obi was out.
18:32Now, is this before the ball comes in?
18:34That is the question.
18:35You're right.
18:37No, they're moving to the side.
18:39So, they were saying the ball was released.
18:40If it was before the ball was released,
18:42there would have been a foul shot for Orlando and the ball.
18:47Pacers have hit eight of their first 11.
18:49Orlando is just four of 18.
18:56Banqueiro raises up and this time hits a three.
19:02Just a 31% three-point shooter, Paolo Banqueiro,
19:06and that's right at his career number.
19:08And that's going to be a holding foul on Javon Carter.
19:14And that's his second.
19:16Well, interesting enough without Suggs and Black,
19:18they don't have many point guards on their roster.
19:21So, it'll be interesting to see what they're going to do.
19:23I think they're coming with Jace Richardson.
19:24Yeah, the rookie is Father Jason Richardson,
19:27former member of the Orlando Magic,
19:29longtime terrific NBA player.
19:31And again, Quinn just mentioned it.
19:33Jalen Suggs out due to illness,
19:35but Anthony Black is out with an abdominal strain.
19:38And Quinn, we saw him here the last time.
19:41He had 27 points and 10 assists.
19:44The third-year player out of Arkansas.
19:46Very talented.
19:47He's out as well.
19:50Speaking of Arkansas,
19:53you see what Tyrese did to the Kentucky players
19:56who all of a sudden are claiming Arkansas
19:59because of John Calipari?
20:01Oh, did he have fun with it.
20:02Micah Potter, the offensive rebound, kicks it out.
20:05Smart pass by Shepard
20:07because he just came in the game
20:08and he wasn't prepared to shoot it
20:09even though he was open.
20:10Oh, look at Jairus,
20:11and it's fouled by Bataze.
20:14Good ball movement.
20:16Yeah, Tyrese made sure
20:17that all of the former Kentucky players
20:19are starting to wear Arkansas gear
20:21because John Calipari,
20:22who was at Kentucky
20:23when they were having great years,
20:25was their guy.
20:26But here, coming on the break,
20:28you see Gogo trying to come and get a block.
20:30He gets there late.
20:31I thought that was interesting
20:33because I think the other thing
20:34why we're in the midst of this
20:35is Tyrese, because Iowa State
20:37to them really well.
20:38Yes, they are.
20:38In the Sweet 16.
20:40As is, let me make sure I get this
20:42before you get to little pieces.
20:43As is Purdue, by the way.
20:45Absolutely.
20:45Look at our FanDuel,
20:47same game parlay,
20:48plus 209,
20:49the total parlay odds,
20:50first quarter spread.
20:51Pacers favorite,
20:52minus 5.5,
20:53minus 132.
20:54The total points over in the quarter,
20:5656.5,
20:57minus 114.
20:59And a terrific start
21:00for Walker.
21:01He has 9.
21:02Nembhardt has 8.
21:04Siakam has 6.
21:05And the Pacers lead by 9,
21:0723-14.
21:11Nice double team.
21:13They made,
21:14but Carroll picked the ball up.
21:16He had nowhere to go with it.
21:17Richardson drives on McConnell
21:19and put it in.
21:21That's who he is.
21:22He's more of a scoring guard
21:23than he is anything else.
21:24Not your prototypical point guard.
21:27He wants to score.
21:28So, you know,
21:29TJ's got to keep that in mind
21:30and know he's looking
21:31to get a bucket.
21:32McConnell
21:33throws out to Shepard
21:34for 3.
21:35Off the mark.
21:36Batted by Walker.
21:39Skip pass to Potter.
21:41Good pass.
21:41Really good pass
21:42by Potter.
21:44He's,
21:44Potter's capable
21:45of making a 3-point shot.
21:47He had,
21:47pretty close together,
21:49top repositioned.
21:51Got the ball
21:51at the 3-point line
21:52and made it.
21:52And the Pacers again
21:53up by 10.
21:54Here's a 3.
21:55It's no good.
21:56It's going to be
21:57tipped out of bounds
21:58and it will be
21:59Orlando's ball.
22:01Batase and McConnell
22:02were there.
22:03They're going to say
22:03that TJ knocked it out.
22:06Micah Potter on the floor.
22:07He got his first start
22:08with the Pacers
22:09for Rick Carlisle
22:10back on January
22:11the 4th year.
22:12He had a double-double,
22:1411 points
22:15and 10 rebounds.
22:18Chet Howard
22:19in the corner
22:19and hits a 3.
22:24And Chelon Howard,
22:26long-time NBA player
22:27and assistant,
22:28former coach at Michigan.
22:30Now assistant
22:31in Brooklyn.
22:32His dad is.
22:34Here's McConnell,
22:35scoops,
22:35got it to Potter.
22:36Great effort.
22:38Really good effort.
22:39He got the ball
22:39knocked out of his hand,
22:40got knocked down.
22:41What did we have
22:42going on the other end?
22:43Did O.B. get caught?
22:46Got a loose ball
22:46by O.B.,
22:47I think a grab.
22:49And we have a timeout.
22:512.56 to play
22:52in the opening quarter.
22:53Pacers have led
22:54by double figures.
22:56They're up seven.
22:59Pacers are off
23:00to a good start
23:01here in the first quarter
23:02and Jairus Walker
23:03has found a nice rhythm
23:04from, I think,
23:05all over the floor, Chris.
23:06I think he's done
23:07a great job
23:07getting in transition.
23:09I think his teammates
23:09have found him there.
23:11But I just like the way
23:12he's really slowed down
23:14and kind of let the game
23:15come to him.
23:16He's got good size,
23:17good strength.
23:18Great to see him
23:19knock down shots.
23:20He is going to work.
23:22IndianaWorkers.com,
23:23Galitko and Daly.
23:24Three rebounds.
23:25That's important
23:26because the Pacers
23:27have been badly out-rebounded
23:29in each of the last three games.
23:30Early on,
23:31they're out-rebounding
23:32Orlando 11-5.
23:34That has to be consistent.
23:36Your defense,
23:37your rebounding
23:37gives you the best chance
23:39because they're nice.
23:40The shot won't go.
23:41Then you've got to go
23:42get the rebound,
23:43but the defense
23:43has got to be there as well.
23:44But you're right,
23:45the rebounding,
23:46San Antonio rebounding
23:48was actually a little scary,
23:49quite frankly.
23:50Yeah,
23:50minus 23.
23:52That tied a season high,
23:55if you will.
23:55Houston out-rebounded
23:56the Pacers by 23
23:58as well.
23:59And that's Pacers' ball.
24:00That's good defensive pressure.
24:02Really good
24:03because Howard
24:04tried to bump.
24:05He tried,
24:06watch,
24:06he tries to clear space.
24:07And just because TJ is there,
24:09TJ doesn't budge
24:10and Howard can't control
24:11the ball.
24:11That's a good solid deal.
24:13TJ McConnell
24:14a couple of days away
24:15from his 34th birthday.
24:20Free throw line,
24:21TJ.
24:22Showing him
24:22he has it.
24:23Got that game.
24:24TJ McConnell.
24:25Last four games
24:27averaging nearly 10 assists.
24:33Free throw line jumper,
24:35Howard.
24:36No good.
24:37Rebounded by Walker.
24:38and that's his fourth.
24:43Two minutes to play
24:44in the opening quarter.
24:45Walker.
24:47No good.
24:48Rebound nearly tracked down.
24:50Toppin was there
24:50but scooting in
24:51to get it
24:52was Howard.
24:52Yeah,
24:52a little bit of a quick shot
24:53by Jeteris
24:54but I think he's probably
24:55feeling like
24:55he's got a little
24:56something going on.
24:57De Silva.
24:59Good closeout by Shepard
25:00but Howard
25:01waltzes to the basket.
25:04Five points per game
25:06for Jet Howard
25:07third year out of Michigan.
25:08He already has five.
25:10He'll have more than five
25:11than that
25:11because they've got to play.
25:17Got to find a way
25:18to get Toppin in the game.
25:20Good hands.
25:22But it wouldn't go in
25:23but a foul.
25:25They call a foul
25:26after the fact
25:26or they call goaltending.
25:27They call goaltending.
25:28Yeah,
25:28they call goaltending.
25:33You'll see the ball
25:34go up there.
25:35Do they touch the net?
25:38Oh,
25:39yeah,
25:39it was still.
25:40Yeah,
25:40there was a portion
25:41of it still
25:41of the rim.
25:42No doubt.
25:43Generally speaking,
25:44ladies,
25:44if somebody slaps
25:45the ball
25:46up there
25:47instead of
25:47pulls it down
25:48it's because
25:48they can't pull it down
25:49because it's over the rim
25:50and by that very nature
25:52it makes any contact
25:53goaltending.
25:53There's Bataze,
25:54the former pacer.
25:55And it's blocked
25:56by Toppin
25:57and he knocks
25:58it out of bounds.
25:59Toppin going to show
26:00him he's a big boy.
26:02Goga thought
26:03he had something inside.
26:04Show him you're
26:06a big boy.
26:07Obi,
26:08big boy,
26:08take that.
26:11Pascal Siakam
26:12is up off the bench
26:13with a minute
26:13to play in the quarter.
26:14Two and a half
26:15on the shot clock
26:17and Nembhard
26:17also coming right back.
26:19I like this
26:20because I get
26:21Baines
26:22come off
26:23with a slow start
26:23and he's probably
26:24been their
26:26most consistent player
26:27and he just got
26:27put back in the game
26:28and Nembhard's
26:29in the game
26:30to pick him up.
26:31Yeah,
26:31six of his last
26:3212,
26:3220 or more points.
26:34Baines
26:34having a terrific
26:35first here.
26:36Comes right in
26:37and hits a three.
26:38I knew
26:38when they took him
26:40out because
26:40he struggled
26:41finding the basket
26:42that he,
26:43you know,
26:43he sat over there
26:44and saw himself
26:46making baskets.
26:47He's a tough cover.
26:49Native Hoosier,
26:51Richmond, Indiana.
26:53Played at
26:53Seton Catholic High School
26:55and then Baines
26:56four years at TCU.
26:58They love him here.
27:00Talked to Jeff Turner
27:01who you know
27:01quite well
27:02who was
27:03their analyst
27:04and they love
27:06they love the roots
27:07of him.
27:08The essence of him.
27:09Works hard,
27:10doesn't complain,
27:11does his goals
27:12about his business.
27:14Shot clock down
27:15to three.
27:16And
27:17banked in
27:18for three.
27:21Get in there.
27:23The trio of
27:24Siakam,
27:25Nembhardt
27:26and Walker
27:26nine,
27:27nine and eight.
27:31Batase
27:32blocked again.
27:34Good defense
27:35around the basket
27:36to your point
27:36about Batase.
27:37Gotta have numbers now.
27:38Pacers can play
27:39for the final shot.
27:41Walker though
27:42will draw the foul.
27:44Risky with the
27:45shot clock going down.
27:48I mean,
27:49really good job
27:49here at Siakam.
27:50Clear space.
27:51Goga's afraid
27:52to go out there.
27:53That goes up.
27:54Get in there.
27:56Good to see
27:57that go down.
28:00Prepare free throws
28:01now for Jairus Walker
28:02who could
28:03have a double
28:04four-figure quarter.
28:05He's had seven
28:06of them this year.
28:0816 and four-tenths
28:10to play
28:10in the opening quarter.
28:12But he misses
28:13the first.
28:19Shepard is back in.
28:20He replaces McConnell.
28:33Shepard.
28:34He's got nine and four
28:36tonight.
28:36Make it ten and four.
28:38This is a little bit
28:38of a bigger
28:40guard tandem.
28:41Yeah,
28:42that's a little bit
28:42why they made this shift.
28:44Don't foul him.
28:45You got him in trouble.
28:46I can tell you that now.
28:47Da Silva
28:48with nine seconds.
28:49Yeah,
28:49he doesn't know
28:49where he wants to go.
28:52Batase.
28:53Bane
28:55inside the arc.
28:59Solid defensive quarter.
29:01First of all,
29:02you only give up 24 points,
29:03but offensively,
29:04you come up
29:05with 34.
29:06Great start for the Pacers
29:07here in Orlando.
29:09Indiana shot it well.
29:1163%
29:12held the magic
29:14to 31%.
29:15And after a quarter
29:17in Orlando,
29:17Pacers by ten,
29:1934-24
29:20on FanDuel
29:21Sports Network.
29:27Pacers by ten,
29:29a very impressive
29:31start here for Indiana.
29:3212 of 19
29:34from the field.
29:34That's 63%.
29:36They had six assists,
29:3813 rebounds,
29:3914 points in the paint,
29:40and 14 fast break points.
29:42And what's interesting,
29:43Quinn,
29:44numbers can tell a story.
29:46When the Pacers
29:47were here in January,
29:49they got beat
29:49135-127,
29:51shot a season-high
29:5255%,
29:53and in three
29:54of the four quarters,
29:55they shot 60%
29:56from the field.
29:56They shoot 60%
29:58in the first quarter
29:59tonight.
29:59What they have to do,
30:00I mean,
30:01it's terrific.
30:02Now,
30:02how do you maintain it?
30:03You may not be able
30:04to maintain it, Chris,
30:05but the thing that
30:06makes it worthwhile
30:07is what you're able
30:08to do on a defensive end.
30:10That is a great point.
30:11That's been one of the issues
30:12for the Pacers
30:13is maintaining.
30:15Yeah.
30:16It's been difficult.
30:17But I'll tell you what,
30:19it's not because
30:20of lack of fight.
30:20It is not that.
30:22Coach Carlisle
30:22has done,
30:23I think,
30:24a marvelous job
30:26in keeping the
30:28middle latitude
30:28and the wantingness
30:31on this team
30:31because it's easy
30:32when you're struggling
30:33to forget all of that.
30:35and we're around
30:36this group
30:37at home
30:37on the road
30:39and the losses
30:41have been far more
30:41than the wins
30:42but this team
30:44still has an attitude
30:46to compete
30:47each and every night.
30:50Richardson!
30:50Richardson!
30:50Richardson has a couple
30:51of field goals
30:52off the bench now.
30:53Siakam in the corner
30:54misses
30:56and Matase
30:57the rebound.
31:03He did a Euro step
31:04and he was able
31:05to fool
31:06Demhart on that
31:07and you don't do that
31:08often on the defensive end.
31:10I'd like to time out.
31:11Rick Root.
31:11Sirs, basketball tonight
31:13from Orlando
31:14is presented by
31:15Andy Moore Automotive
31:16where more means more.
31:17By Ascension,
31:18St. Vincent
31:19listening to you,
31:20caring for you.
31:21And by GameBridge,
31:23take control of
31:23growing your savings
31:24with GameBridge,
31:26GameBridge.io.
31:28Andrew Nembhard
31:29of the Pacers
31:30led by 10
31:30after a quarter
31:31but a couple
31:32of baskets
31:33by the Magic
31:34force a Rick Carlisle
31:35timeout
31:36and it's 34-28
31:38Indiana by 6.
31:40Gotta look at
31:40those second chance points
31:42and be mindful of those.
31:43They've got 13,
31:44the Pacers have 5
31:45but the Pacers
31:46have been able
31:47to get out
31:47in the fast break
31:48at 14-9.
31:49I'm sorry,
31:5014-5.
31:53Yeah,
31:54the second chance points
31:55are the ones
31:55that would really
31:56give
31:57they give me
31:58reason to pause.
32:00You gotta find a way
32:01to minimize that.
32:02It's got a matchup
32:02you might like
32:03if you get it to Seattle.
32:05Went right through
32:06the hands of Potter
32:07and he was able
32:07to get it back.
32:08But it breaks up
32:08the timing
32:09because you're already
32:10down and
32:11get in the puck.
32:13And they are not
32:14going to put him
32:15on the line.
32:15They're going to say
32:15the foul by Da Silva
32:17was on the floor.
32:26I like what Coach
32:27Carlisle is saying
32:28let's play
32:28basically
32:29let's go.
32:31Well,
32:32Mosley didn't like
32:33the call
32:33on his end.
32:38And Hart cut off
32:40by Da Silva
32:40they've got size
32:41on him.
32:42Yeah, they do
32:42because they're
32:43trying to make up
32:44for the fact
32:44that he gets his body
32:46in the deep
32:46and clear space
32:47so that length
32:48makes up
32:48for some of that.
32:49Pacers have missed
32:50their first three
32:51shots of the quarter
32:52after they shot
32:5263%
32:53in the first
32:5512 minutes.
32:56Got it.
32:57Penda is in
32:58off the bench
32:59Richardson
32:59for three.
33:00They picked up
33:01their defense
33:01intensity
33:04their hands
33:05are more active
33:05here.
33:06And a 7-0
33:08Orlando run.
33:09That's how
33:10the second quarter
33:11opens.
33:11That's been one
33:12of the issues
33:12as we said
33:13trying to complete
33:14things in a half.
33:16Pacers have had
33:17some good quarters
33:19in fact they had
33:20three good quarters
33:21here the first time
33:22that's off
33:23but it was
33:25a bad quarter
33:26that hurt.
33:28Three times
33:29they shot better
33:30than 60%.
33:31They had a quarter
33:31there below 40.
33:32And now Bain
33:33all the way in
33:34nearly threw it away
33:35to Silva.
33:36It's nine straight.
33:39I agree with you.
33:39That pass was
33:40almost an accident.
33:41It appeared to be
33:42an accident.
33:43He can't stop that.
33:45He just missed it.
33:46He couldn't stop it.
33:48Carlisle,
33:48Rick just used
33:49the timeout.
33:50I'm sure he doesn't
33:50want to use another one.
33:51Magic.
33:52But he may have to.
33:53Yeah, because they
33:53could take the lead
33:54here.
34:01that's it.
34:01Lilipenda,
34:02rookie out of France.
34:04Step back three.
34:05He is off.
34:06Rebound,
34:07Nembhard.
34:08It was a good block out
34:09on Jason Richardson.
34:11Pushes ahead
34:12to Sheppard
34:13inside
34:13and drawing the foul
34:14of Siakam
34:15on Desmond Bain.
34:18And that's important
34:19because that's
34:20the second foul.
34:22Desmond Bain,
34:23that's it.
34:24Well,
34:25it's important.
34:26It's his third foul.
34:27That's what I think.
34:28I thought it was
34:28his third foul,
34:29but the ball
34:30being advanced,
34:31which is one of the
34:31things where Carlisle
34:32has consistently
34:33talked about.
34:35Advance it.
34:36Get it up.
34:36Force the defense
34:37to get back.
34:41Siakam at the
34:41free throw line,
34:42nine first quarter points.
34:44Pacers led by
34:45by as many as 10.
34:48And he hits the free throw
34:49for a two-point lead
34:50and now a message
34:51from Hope Plumbing.
34:52You may not think
34:53much about unclogging
34:54a drain.
34:55To us,
34:55it's sort of an art
34:56and mastery.
34:57We take on that clog
34:58with zest
34:58to make sure your pipes
34:59are flowing
35:00and your home
35:01is as safe as possible.
35:02We're basically
35:02superheroes.
35:05Pascal Siakam
35:06has been in double figures
35:07in all 57 games
35:09he's played this year.
35:12And he's got 11 points.
35:16Again, the first two games,
35:18both close.
35:19Pacers lost 1-12, 1-10
35:21on New Year's Eve
35:22at Cambridge Fieldhouse
35:24led by as many as 10.
35:25They had a late lead
35:26here in the fourth quarter.
35:281-16, 1-15.
35:29A few days later,
35:30Orlando,
35:31a 9-0 run
35:33to win it,
35:331-35, 1-27.
35:36Just stay solid.
35:37He makes it, he makes it.
35:39Oh, boy.
35:40They're going to call
35:41this on Nembhardt
35:42because when Goga jumped,
35:44Nembhardt,
35:44I don't know if he moved
35:45or not,
35:46but he almost took
35:46the legs out of Goga
35:48and the fish would call it.
35:50I'm trying to see
35:51if will they risk
35:52Bane staying in the game?
35:53Because he's got three now.
35:55He's finally taking him
35:55out of the game.
35:56And that's one
35:57of their better scores.
35:58And now Nembhardt
35:58has picked up his second
35:59and so T.J. McConnell
36:01is in front of us
36:02to check in.
36:03Jamal Cain.
36:06Banqueiro back in
36:07and Jamal Cain.
36:11Cain was on a two-way contract.
36:13They converted him
36:14to a full contract.
36:15He's in his fourth year.
36:17A couple years in Memphis.
36:20Make that a year in Memphis
36:21and two years in Miami.
36:23And that's a foul
36:24on Jay Huff.
36:30That's a tough one.
36:31And I know Coach Carlisle
36:32is trying to look to see
36:33if that indeed was a foul.
36:34But first of all,
36:36it was a pretty good move
36:37made by Banqueiro
36:38given that he just
36:38came off the bench.
36:42I mean,
36:43they lose Bane.
36:44Bane's the best score
36:46in my opinion.
36:47Even though Banqueiro,
36:48it's hard to argue with that.
36:49Yeah,
36:49the arm came over.
36:50There's no doubt.
36:52Straight up,
36:52you got an arm
36:53and an arm comes over the body.
36:56You're getting the foul.
36:59Banqueiro,
36:59the number one pick
37:00back in 2022.
37:02I think it was going to be him
37:04or,
37:05oh, I'll tell you who it was.
37:10Jabari.
37:11Yeah,
37:12that's right.
37:12Jabari Smith.
37:13Yes, Jabari Smith.
37:15Who's, I think,
37:16from Clemson.
37:21Jabari Smith hits a bowl.
37:23And of course,
37:23last year,
37:24last June,
37:25another former Duke player,
37:27Cooper flag.
37:29Yeah,
37:29but the other Duke player
37:31who's not a double one
37:32or anything else,
37:34Con Canuffle.
37:35Oh, boy.
37:37Because you cannot discount him.
37:38And I think Cooper's having
37:39a terrific year.
37:41But,
37:42Jason,
37:43think about those two
37:44who are on the team together.
37:47Stay down.
37:49Kane for three.
37:52And that's going to be
37:53another holding foul.
37:55And it's on Huff.
38:02And that's his second.
38:058-0-4 to play.
38:06Second quarter.
38:08You see him right here
38:08with Goga.
38:10The fact that he got
38:11his left arm around his body,
38:13he's in good position.
38:16But something,
38:17hey, listen,
38:18you got to do
38:18what you got to do.
38:20At least you keep him
38:20from getting an offensive rebound.
38:22Da Silva,
38:23too strong,
38:24batted out.
38:25Yeah, Kane can get out.
38:26He really can.
38:27He is really quick
38:28and light on his feet.
38:29Second chance opportunity.
38:30They have 15 second chance
38:32points already.
38:34Vankero goes inside,
38:35gives it now to Bataze.
38:38Blocked from behind,
38:39but bodies collide
38:40and a foul
38:41against the Pacers
38:42and it's on Walker.
38:487-41 to play
38:50in the quarter
38:51and the Pacers
38:52have picked up
38:52their fourth foul.
38:53Yeah, but as we,
38:54you know,
38:55we were talking about
38:56probably about
38:57three or four minutes ago,
38:58the question was more
38:59about
39:00the second chance points.
39:03And now Bataze
39:04has a chance
39:04to tie it
39:05and give Orlando
39:06the lead
39:07after they trailed by 10.
39:10At home,
39:11they were going to find a way
39:11to get back in the game.
39:13Nah,
39:14they got to hold on
39:15and do what they got to do,
39:16but they were going to try
39:18to find a way.
39:18At home?
39:19Yeah,
39:19to your point,
39:20number five Toronto
39:21right now
39:23is a game and a half
39:24better than number nine
39:25Miami
39:26and even Charlotte
39:27in 10th in the East
39:28is only two and a half
39:30out of fifth.
39:31That's what I was saying
39:32to get to the top.
39:33Like you,
39:34we take a peek
39:35at these numbers
39:36every now and then
39:37and it's like,
39:37whoa,
39:38they're in a battle.
39:40And one of the reasons
39:41you,
39:41I mean,
39:42we both do this,
39:43you'll get a sense
39:44of how hard teams
39:44are going to play.
39:45They do games as hard.
39:47And even at the end
39:48of the year,
39:48you're making sure people,
39:49you know,
39:50checking their motivation,
39:51that kind of thing.
39:51they're playing
39:52for something.
39:55Pacers play the spoiler
39:56right now.
39:57nobody's got it.
40:00And the lead
40:01belongs to Orlando
40:02on the Da Silva three.
40:04Da Silva was wide open
40:05for at least three seconds
40:07and no one was
40:08nowhere near him
40:09in that left corner.
40:11In the post,
40:12now to Huff.
40:13He spins,
40:15gets it out to Walker.
40:17The deflection
40:18allowed the defense
40:19to catch up.
40:20and McConnell
40:21two more.
40:24Goga,
40:25you haven't seen that.
40:28You had to defend it
40:29in practice
40:30and you saw it
40:30in games
40:32when he was
40:33wearing your jersey.
40:36Pacers by one,
40:3740-39.
40:39Richardson,
40:40a long three,
40:41no good.
40:42Rebound blockout
40:43on the dribble
40:44on the dribble
40:45is Walker.
40:50Walker drives inside
40:51and they're going
40:53to call a foul.
40:57Are they calling
40:58on Da Silva?
40:59They may call it
40:59before the ball
41:00hit the backboard.
41:01but I think
41:02they're going
41:02to call it
41:03on Da Silva.
41:05Look,
41:06that's counting it.
41:07Okay.
41:10I think it did
41:11hit the glass.
41:14I tell you what,
41:15I didn't see
41:16the foul.
41:17I wasn't,
41:17I thought it was
41:18goaltending
41:19but I didn't see
41:20a foul
41:20but the Pacers
41:21will take it.
41:22Yeah,
41:22I agree with you
41:22on the goaltending.
41:23I thought the goaltending
41:24was the easiest part
41:25of the call.
41:26The foul,
41:27man,
41:28okay,
41:29take them both.
41:31And a chance
41:32for a three-point play
41:33for Jairus Walker.
41:37Twelve first-half points,
41:39four rebounds,
41:40four of seven
41:40from the field.
41:42He's three of four
41:43at the line.
41:45When that's
41:46what I've been
41:47most impressed
41:48about Jairus
41:49is his ability
41:50to get to the
41:51free-throw line.
41:53That was something
41:54I think first two years
41:55we didn't see
41:55as much of.
41:56I don't think
41:57he had enough confidence.
41:59I agree with you.
42:00We didn't see it
42:00but I don't think
42:00he had enough confidence.
42:02Well,
42:02they were busy
42:02trying to figure out
42:03what the NBA game
42:04is and the NBA game
42:06is so much faster
42:07and the guys
42:07are so much stronger
42:08than it was in college.
42:09Look,
42:10he's not unlike
42:11the rest of the guys
42:12that have come
42:12through this league.
42:13It takes you
42:14a year and a half
42:14almost two years
42:15to figure this thing out.
42:19Bancaro
42:21calmly hits the three.
42:24That's two of them
42:25for Paolo Bancaro.
42:26And he's in double figures.
42:28He has ten.
42:29It's a one-point Pacers lead.
42:32They've led by as many as ten.
42:34And Huff from McConnell.
42:38J. Huff has his first points.
42:44Second assist for McConnell.
42:48Oh.
42:50Oh.
42:51They got Jairus on that
42:52with a back cut.
42:54He wasn't expecting
42:56Kane to come to the rim
42:58and that's exactly what he did.
42:59but great dime there.
43:02Whoa.
43:03Good read.
43:04Even Jairus had to smile
43:06with McConnell
43:07giving that dime.
43:08Three assists.
43:09Six points for McConnell
43:10off the bench.
43:11Nembhard seated right now
43:12with two fouls.
43:14Da Silva
43:15guarded by Neesmith.
43:16Step back jumper.
43:18Good.
43:2018th pick
43:21back in 2024.
43:24Seven points a game
43:25last year as a rookie.
43:26Almost ten this year.
43:28Played college basketball
43:29at Colorado.
43:30There's a three off
43:31by Toppin.
43:32Leading the break
43:33Ben Carroll.
43:37The Toppin failed
43:38after he missed the shot too.
43:39That's why nobody was back.
43:42And the Magic
43:43back in front.
43:4548-47
43:46and Rick Carlisle
43:47will use a timeout.
43:49We'll pause as well.
43:514.35 to play
43:52first half.
43:54Visit up two
43:55to Orlando.
43:56Magic have a one point lead.
43:59Indiana back
43:59for a three game home stand
44:00starting Wednesday night.
44:01Our Indiana Members Credit Union
44:03Pacers live pregame show
44:05with the Lakers in town.
44:076.30
44:08with JJ and Eddie.
44:10Speaking of JJ
44:11he's on the Indiana
44:12Farm Bureau Insurance sideline.
44:14Seeing some attacking
44:15the basket.
44:16Some good screens
44:17from Jay Huff.
44:18Quinn I was listening
44:19to your broadcast
44:20before Avicu Zubac
44:21got heard
44:21and you mentioned
44:22how his screen setting
44:24could help teach
44:25some of the other Pacers
44:26quality screens.
44:27You saw a good screen
44:28and a roll there
44:29from Jay Huff.
44:30I did ask Jay
44:31before this game
44:31about that topic
44:32and he said
44:33watching Zu
44:33his footwork
44:35the way he
44:35gets the screen set
44:37is something
44:37he is elite at
44:38and I asked him
44:39how you become
44:39elite at that skill.
44:41He said
44:41a lot of it's
44:42positioning and timing
44:43and you try not to
44:44set a screen illegally.
44:46It's sometimes
44:46a fine line
44:47what's legal
44:48and what's not
44:49but it does seem
44:50like they are
44:50following the instructions
44:52and learning a little bit
44:53from their new teammate.
44:54He meets Zubac.
44:55There's no question
44:56about it
44:56and that example
44:57that was shown
44:58was the perfect
44:59perfect one
45:00for the way
45:01Zubac was able
45:02to set a screen
45:03because before that
45:03we had not seen
45:05Huff set a screen
45:06and get the ball
45:07you know
45:07out of a pick and roll.
45:10Shot clock down to six.
45:14And that's a basket
45:15by Chet Howard.
45:16Who they call
45:17in the foul on
45:18because Potter
45:18just went down.
45:20Oh they call
45:21a loose ball
45:22against Carter Jr.
45:26So the basket counts.
45:28Yeah it was
45:29as if we're coming
45:30back down the other way.
45:32And that is
45:33the fourth team foul
45:34against Orlando.
45:37Magic have matched
45:38their game high
45:39three point lead.
45:4250-47.
45:45Nembhard back in
45:46with two fouls.
45:47Yep.
45:48Good move.
45:48That's all right.
45:49I'm sorry Parker.
45:50But he needed
45:51to step into it
45:51because he set
45:52a good screen
45:52to get Andrew open
45:54and that forces
45:55the defense
45:56to have to react.
45:57Has been a good
45:57three point shooter
45:58this year.
45:5941 percent.
46:00Month of March
46:01Potter 50 percent.
46:03And Javon Carter
46:04has his first points.
46:06What a heck of a shot
46:07too.
46:08And all of a sudden
46:09Orlando has opened
46:10up a five point lead.
46:15Siakam against Kane.
46:17Not too easy.
46:18Until Kane has
46:18no chance.
46:20He got no chance
46:21to guard him.
46:22Kane is a terrific
46:23athlete but undersized
46:25down there dealing
46:25with Siakam isn't he?
46:27Even with guys.
46:27Yeah I agree.
46:28But as we've seen
46:30even with guys
46:31his size
46:32they seem to be
46:33overmatched
46:34when he's in that post.
46:38Pascal that rare game
46:40under 20 points
46:42in San Antonio
46:43he had 14.
46:46Yeah but he also had
46:47Rippin Yama
46:48running around.
46:49That's right.
46:50So I mean he was
46:53that guy was affecting
46:55the game
46:56from
46:5820 feet away Chris
46:59because you figured
47:00he could close
47:01to 10 feet
47:02and his length
47:03was going to be able
47:04to make up for a lot
47:04of it.
47:05Coming in
47:0522 of 26 games
47:0720 or more points
47:09for Siakam.
47:10Now they're going
47:10to get him
47:11for a foul.
47:13They're going to say
47:14he was holding
47:15Paolo Banqueiro.
47:21I mean it's a
47:23valiant effort
47:23don't get me wrong.
47:30And Banqueiro
47:31will shoot a couple
47:32of free throws.
47:3312 points for Banqueiro
47:35coming in off
47:36a 16 point game
47:375 rebounds
47:386 assists
47:38and a heartbreaking
47:40loss here
47:41against the Lakers
47:42on Saturday night.
47:43They had a 5 point lead
47:44inside the final minute
47:46and Luke Kennard
47:48hit a 3
47:48with less than
47:49a second to go
47:50and the Lakers
47:51on a big win streak
47:54as well.
47:55Luke Kennard
47:56makes the shot
47:57but they got
47:573 other guys
47:58over there
47:58that you worried
47:59about before
48:00Luke Kennard
48:00and that's how
48:01Luke Kennard
48:02got to get
48:02the big shot.
48:03He made a big
48:043 point shot
48:05for him to win.
48:06When you worried
48:07about LeBron,
48:07Luka and even
48:08Austin Reeves
48:09who I'm not sure
48:10Eastern Conference
48:10people give enough
48:11credit to.
48:11Austin Reeves
48:12can block.
48:13Those 3 guys
48:14you're talking
48:14about all averaging
48:1520 or more points.
48:17Step back.
48:18Siakam.
48:2016 for Pascal.
48:22He had 34
48:23back here in January.
48:25He had 26
48:26in the first meeting.
48:28So averaging
48:2930 points a game
48:30this year
48:31against the Magic.
48:32I like when he plays
48:32like this.
48:35I mean he made
48:36the basketball
48:36but when he plays
48:37like that
48:37it really slows
48:38their offense now.
48:42Siakam head down
48:44and goes right in
48:45again
48:46on 18 point
48:47first half
48:48for Pascal Siakam.
48:53He's been on the
48:54roll.
48:54I mean they don't
48:55they haven't had
48:55any options.
49:01225 to play
49:02first half.
49:04Pacers led by
49:0510 after a quarter.
49:08Went to his own.
49:12Bancaro.
49:15I'll tell you what
49:16that reminds me of
49:17when Luka was
49:18hitting those shots.
49:20Yeah.
49:21But the difference
49:22for me is
49:23I somewhat expect
49:24Luka to make those
49:25shots.
49:25I don't often expect
49:28Powell to make those
49:29and he did a heck
49:30of a job
49:30coming up with them
49:31and Siakam just did
49:33a heck of a job
49:34keeping that ball
49:34alive too.
49:35And the Pacers
49:36second chance points
49:38three of them
49:38from Ben Shepard
49:40and a timeout
49:41called by Jamal
49:42Mosley and the
49:43Orlando Magic.
49:44We have a good one
49:45on a Monday night
49:46three weeks left
49:47in the regular season
49:49hard to believe
49:4958-57 Magic
49:52on FanDuel
49:53Sports Network.
49:54Quarter a tick
49:54under 50
49:559 of 19
49:56here in the second
49:57with Orlando
49:58after 31%
49:59in the first
50:0013 of 19
50:02from the field
50:03that's near 70%.
50:06Look Siakam
50:07does a terrific job.
50:08He can feel you
50:09and anybody
50:10that posts up
50:11will tell you
50:11if I can feel your body
50:12I know where you are
50:13and I know where
50:14the leverage point is.
50:15There he's able
50:16to get himself
50:17clear even though
50:18you're talking about
50:19an undersized Carter
50:20but I'm telling you
50:21this is a difference maker.
50:23He's shot 50%
50:24from the field
50:25one or two
50:26on the three point shots.
50:28Okay.
50:29It's hard to ask him
50:30to get more rebounds
50:30when you got 18
50:31in the first half.
50:32Chipotle
50:33real difference maker
50:34Pascal Siakam
50:35has seven
50:3620 point halves
50:37this year.
50:38He's 18 points
50:40two away
50:40from another one
50:42here tonight.
50:4558-57
50:47they put the ball
50:48in the hands
50:49of Bancaro.
50:50Again
50:51Jalen Suggs
50:52Anthony Blackout
50:53due to injuries.
50:56This is a matchup
50:57this is the one
50:58he wanted.
51:01That's the one
51:01he wanted Potter
51:02because he started
51:03the other side
51:04and he had Siakam
51:05and he didn't want
51:06that matchup
51:06because Siakam
51:07has better footwork
51:08than Potter.
51:09A 20 point
51:10first half
51:11for Paolo Bancaro
51:12he has 15
51:13in this quarter.
51:16And fortunately
51:17that went out
51:18of bounds.
51:19These two down
51:20here they're battling
51:21they were
51:21yeah fortunately
51:22went out of bounds
51:23but they were battling
51:24that's why Rick
51:24has just called
51:25Neesmith to come
51:26back and help
51:26get it in.
51:2990 seconds
51:30to play
51:3060-57
51:32Orlando
51:33has scored
51:3436 second
51:35quarter points
51:36and Siakam
51:37has a 20 point
51:38first half.
51:39ATO
51:39after timeout play
51:41well designed
51:41with a little
51:42back screen
51:42to get Siakam
51:44going strong
51:44right handed.
51:45Halftime
51:46just moments away
51:47our Chevrolet
51:47halftime report
51:48with JJ and Eddie
51:50and that's a Pacers
51:52foul
51:52and it will put
51:53Wendell Carter Jr.
51:55on the line.
51:56The Pacers
51:57number two
51:58Andrew Nigham
51:59that's his third
52:00person
52:01and that's the third
52:02on Nembhard.
52:04Yeah the Pacers
52:05would have been
52:06better off
52:06with Potter
52:07picking up
52:07that foul.
52:09What are we
52:10doing?
52:10We said
52:12we like Andrew
52:13or do we like
52:14Potter?
52:14Potter doesn't
52:15have a foul.
52:17Yeah that's
52:17one way to look
52:18that's good Chris.
52:19Better him one
52:20Nembhard two
52:21but now Nembhard
52:22three Potter zero
52:24and Carter Jr.
52:25hits the free throw
52:26now this from
52:26Indiana Farm Bureau
52:27Insurance.
52:28That's still good.
52:29Good barbers
52:30don't pass you
52:31from person
52:31to person.
52:32Sorry I gotta run.
52:33I'm gonna pass
52:34you up hold tight.
52:35You got this.
52:36Can I cut your hair?
52:38Neither do good
52:38insurance agents.
52:41You know
52:41I would have
52:42that problem
52:43going to the
52:43barbershop
52:44if somebody came
52:44to cut my hair
52:45except I don't
52:46have any hair.
52:48You don't have
52:49to worry about that
52:50you don't have
52:50to spend any money.
52:51Yeah
52:52you don't have
52:52to worry about
52:53that problem.
52:53That's the beauty
52:54about having a wife
52:55that's a hairstylist
52:56for 40 plus years
52:57no one else
52:58has cut my hair.
52:59Yeah that is
53:00pretty cool.
53:04Mee-Smith
53:05short rebound
53:06by Carter Jr.
53:07Mee-Smith has
53:08really not
53:08been effective
53:10offensive
53:10matter of fact
53:10he had to score.
53:11Yeah
53:1115 minutes
53:12that was just
53:13his second shot.
53:18Bancaro
53:21backs his way in
53:23this time
53:24no good
53:24rebound
53:25collected
53:25by Walker.
53:30About a nine
53:31second difference
53:32game and shot clock
53:33it's a three point
53:34Orlando lead
53:35Pacers led by
53:3610 after a quarter.
53:37They want to get
53:38what they could
53:38they want to see
53:39Siakam down
53:39on the block
53:40he popped.
53:41Siakam short
53:4215 seconds
53:43to play
53:43and the magic
53:45will have
53:45the lead
53:45at the half.
53:46But they had
53:46the right
53:48consciousness
53:48about it
53:48because Siakam
53:49is one that's
53:50been going
53:51so well
53:51offensively
53:52you want
53:52to get
53:52the ball
53:53in his hands.
53:53Four seconds
54:01they got the
54:02mismatch
54:02they wanted
54:03on that
54:03screen
54:05Rick Carlisle
54:06is angry
54:07about the
54:07play at
54:07the other
54:08end
54:10and we'll
54:11take a look
54:12but it
54:13appeared
54:13that he got
54:13it all.
54:14Yeah
54:14he got it
54:14in time.
54:18They got
54:18the matchup
54:19he wanted
54:19and then
54:20let's
54:21see
54:21because the
54:22Pacers
54:22have done
54:22a terrific
54:23job
54:23moving the
54:24ball
54:24getting
54:25everybody
54:25involved
54:26okay
54:27you still
54:28got some
54:28work to do
54:29but you
54:29got almost
54:2960 points
54:30at the
