04:16Комит 3 guys to the ball.
04:18Take your pick.
04:18I'll take John Collins on the wing for a 3.
04:21And I certainly will take Kawhi for a long 3 at the top of the key.
04:24So DG doing a great job out of the pick and roll.
04:26There could be 3s flying here tonight.
04:29The Bucs, one of the premier teams from beyond the arc,
04:31they'll need their shot tonight as well.
04:33It's Clippers-Bucs coming up next.
04:40...home stand, but they are important games for the Clippers
04:43as they try to hold on to the 8 spot.
04:44On tonight's game, presented by Kaiser Permanente.
04:47Take a look at the starting 5.
04:49A bit of a different lineup.
04:50Haven't seen this one.
04:51John Collins is out.
04:53So bring in Nico Batum.
04:55The Clippers will probably go deep into their bench today
04:59against the Milwaukee Bucs.
05:01But things are trending in the right way for the Clippers.
05:0311 games left.
05:05And they have a real opportunity for more on that.
05:07Let's sit it down to Jamie.
05:08Ryan, with just 11 games to go,
05:10we really are in the final stretch of the season.
05:12And things do look favorable for the Clippers
05:15in terms of strength of schedule.
05:17First of all, seven of the games remaining
05:19are going to be played here at Intuit Dome.
05:21Only three of the games remaining are against teams above .500.
05:25That would be the Spurs, Thunder, and Raptors.
05:28The Raptors will be here on Wednesday.
05:30But they have two against Portland.
05:32And Portland's currently the ninth seed.
05:34And with the playoff structure the way that it is,
05:36the seventh and eighth seed will play one game in the play-in
05:39and win, you're in.
05:41But the ninth and tenth seeds will play two games.
05:44First against each other.
05:45And then the winner will play the loser of the seventh and eighth seed play-in game.
05:49The winner of that will earn a first-round matchup against OKC.
05:53So ideally, the Clippers are looking at that eighth seed.
05:57And that's your key of player profile.
05:59The eighth seed in the play-in bracket.
06:00Yeah, you win the 9-10 situation.
06:02And you end up playing Oklahoma City.
06:04Congratulations.
06:04I'm sorry.
06:06As the Clippers win the Taftal,
06:07I happen to start the fourth quarter as well.
06:10This is one of those teams in Milwaukee under .500.
06:13There's Kawhi misses on the first of two.
06:15Didn't know if I expected them to be in this situation at the start of the year.
06:18Leonard goes 0 for 2 on the first possession.
06:23Milwaukee has struggled of late.
06:253-10 since February 27th.
06:28They're coming off a win in Phoenix.
06:30Trying to help the Clippers out, although I do think that seventh spot is a little untouchable.
06:34Miles Turner, the three, gets short.
06:36General Torian Prince, the rebound.
06:40Jericho Sims to pull up from the free-throw line.
06:42We've got a lot of missed shots to open up this one.
06:48Garland down the lane and lays it in for the game's first bucket.
06:53Well, Brandon, I'm thinking about this game.
06:54Of course, Milwaukee struggles defensively, but don't fall in love with the three-point shot.
06:58Don't think this game is easy.
07:00When you do that, these kind of games get really hard.
07:04Prince.
07:06Turner, of course, in the finals with the Pacers a year ago was a big acquisition
07:10and probably a surprise one.
07:12He's getting on the three, not there, and a running rebound for Kawhi.
07:17Leonard dashing down the lane.
07:19Elevates, but misses the dunk over.
07:20So what a foul.
07:21There's a reason why Kawhi Leonard would miss any dunk, and, of course, it's contact as
07:25he gets by the little man, Ryan Rollins, trying to catch up with Kawhi.
07:29Not able to do that at the rim.
07:32Get back to D.G. in transition.
07:34A little shake, a little bake, a little stop.
07:37Great finish inside.
07:38We touched on it in the open, a monster game for Garland.
07:4141 and 11 on 15 of 24.
07:44Kawhi gets the first of two free throws.
07:46Kawhi not too shabby, 34 for him in that win in overtime.
07:51As Dakar talked to them briefly before the ball game, he said, yeah, every year,
07:55every once in a while, you're going to have a situation like this.
07:58It's not been great for the Bucs.
08:00There's been a lot of uncertainty in a certain player, and Giannis, and then Agupo,
08:06and they just don't know where to go in that direction.
08:08It'll be interesting to see them in the next few months.
08:11Opportunity lost, Brian, for the team, but not for individual players who've gotten a chance
08:15to play and show themselves, and whether or not they're a part of the future
08:18of what Milwaukee wants to do.
08:21And we're hoping Miles Turner was going to be a part of a nice winning situation
08:24and bringing what he brought with the Indiana Pacers alongside Giannis.
08:29He knocks down the three.
08:32And now Lopez the other way.
08:34Former Bucs spent seven years there.
08:36Garland off-balance three.
08:38It's his second shot.
08:39He's got five.
08:40That's his off-to-dribble threes.
08:41That is the separator between really good point guards in the league,
08:45and potentially great ones, is to be able to score it off the bat.
08:48It's an opportunity for players.
08:50Ryan Rollins, who just misses right there, has grabbed that opportunity,
08:54and in the conversation for most improved in the NBA after bouncing around,
08:59we'll talk about his story.
09:00He has persevered, that is for sure.
09:029.40 to play in this first quarter.
09:04Garland flashes the leather, now finds Lopez.
09:07Garland down the lane off his leg and out of bounds.
09:09I wish Brooke waited a little bit, hesitate on that pass,
09:13make sure that Garland gets clear of some space.
09:17If you're waiting on Brooke to set a screen to clear you,
09:19he's going to do that.
09:20Garland to his left, operating in that middle quadrant,
09:23so effective there.
09:25Garland and Kawhi, the only two clippers to shoot.
09:28Rollins inside, hangs and hits over Batum,
09:32and should most improve the scoring of plus 10,
09:34averaging 17 on the year.
09:37I wonder, Brian, at the end of the year,
09:39do you take into account a winning program for most improved?
09:42I think a lot of voters do as Kawhi gets the jump hook to go.
09:46I think about guys who are impacting winning,
09:48and so I go to Colin Gillespie and Jalen Dern and Jalen Johnson
09:52as more pride candidates potentially.
09:55Akil Alexander Walker could be in that list with Atlanta.
09:58Ball knocked out of bounds.
09:59They say it's a touch by Milwaukee.
10:05Wyatt isoed on Torrey and Prince.
10:08And again, great players in this league,
10:09never worry about the primary defender.
10:11It's where the help is going to come from that time.
10:13Turner is not able to get across.
10:15The charge circle will impact Kawhi at the rim.
10:19The officials overturn their call,
10:22and the Bucs hold on to it inside of nine minutes
10:25to play in this first quarter.
10:26Clippers by four.
10:29Rollins.
10:32Jane control.
10:33Back to Rollins.
10:34Picked up by Lopez off his foot.
10:35A whistle and a foul, I believe,
10:37against Lopez and the Clippers.
10:40Brooke thought he made contact with the ball
10:42before contact with Rollins here on the reach.
10:47Looks like simultaneous, most of the time,
10:49the referees are going to reward the little man on those plays.
10:52Prince, the three.
10:55And Lopez comes away with a rebound.
10:56Torrey and Prince just his 16th game this year.
11:01Garland the other way, picked up by Turner,
11:02tries to go to Jones, throws behind.
11:04Sims controls.
11:05It's a power play for Milwaukee.
11:07Sims down the lane, shuffles and gives to Prince.
11:10City knocks it down.
11:11And Torrey and Prince brings the Bucs to within two.
11:14He said power play.
11:14I think Jericho Sims actually did skate into the lane
11:17and travel before making that pass.
11:22Lopez cradles the ball down the lane.
11:24No whistle, and there is an actual trap.
11:27We go the other way.
11:28You can't speak these things into existence.
11:31I'm sorry, Brian.
11:32Set it on one end.
11:33Watch this last bit of the play for Brooke.
11:35One, two.
11:38Everyone's already down.
11:39It's close.
11:40Closer than I thought.
11:41Rollins the other way.
11:42Clippers by two.
11:44Bucs just three for nine.
11:47They won their last game.
11:48Were embarrassed in Utah, quite frankly, a few nights back.
11:52They bounce back nicely from an effort standpoint,
11:54if nothing else, in Phoenix.
11:56Although picking up the win was nice.
11:57Turner contorting his body.
11:59Gets Jones to bite.
12:00And Miles Turner will go to the line for three.
12:03Yeah, I do want to mention that, Brian.
12:05The recovery for the Bucs to go down to Phoenix,
12:08a team that was struggling,
12:09after you get absolutely beat down by Utah,
12:13who's playing nobody,
12:15for them to come to Phoenix
12:16and give that kind of effort and get a road win,
12:19and I'll point out a little bit of the reaction of the bench,
12:21this team is still together and still competing,
12:24and I would credit Doc for making sure
12:26that these guys understand the opportunity
12:27in front of them to finish the year.
12:30Turner at the line.
12:31We've got a quick word from Hyundai.
12:34Enjoy your new car.
12:35Yeah, you too. Bye-bye.
12:36Deal so right, it almost feels wrong.
12:38The Hyundai getaway sales event.
12:42There is Doc Rivers.
12:44Third year on the sideline, second full year.
12:47It was kind of an interesting situation
12:49before Doc got there,
12:51and while the record was very nice,
12:54many people said that they need an adult in the room,
12:56and Doc is certainly that,
12:57and he is a leader of men,
12:58and his imprint on this organization
13:01to get the wins and losses,
13:03what he did internally for the organization
13:05is incredible,
13:07and whenever the Clippers are able to plant that flag,
13:10his fingerprints will be somewhere near that blueprint.
13:12He was so vital to what the Clippers have done.
13:15Ball knocked out of Kawhi's hands,
13:17and it will stay here with the Clippers, 7.44 to play.
13:20Couldn't agree more with your sentiment, Brian.
13:22I want to back that up.
13:23I mean, the integrity of Doc as a human being
13:25during all of those times.
13:27Forget the X's and O's.
13:28It's about the humanity of what happened here.
13:31It was tremendous.
13:32I do want scientists to study his voice.
13:34How do you keep that voice?
13:35Well, after all these years.
13:37Go back and watch it.
13:38He used to do TNT.
13:39I know it didn't sound anything like that.
13:44Rollins down the lane and down the hatch.
13:46It is pretty incredible,
13:47and then hearing some people imitate it is even funnier
13:49as the Bucs now pull out in front by two, 11 to nine.
13:56Leonard picked up by Jang,
13:58rises right over the top of him.
13:59It is long.
14:00Kawhi now one for five in this first quarter.
14:02Clippers trail by two.
14:07Interception by Dunn.
14:08It's a foot race with Turner, but not a close one.
14:11Turner ends up blocking it off the backboard.
14:14And some good recovery speed there by Turner.
14:17Great anticipation by Chris on the weak side.
14:20Look at him just hanging the pocket there.
14:22Gets away from Rollins.
14:23Times it.
14:25Got to speed up a little bit with Turner chasing you down,
14:27but not there in time.
14:29Goaltending call for Chris to get a bucket.
14:32Dunn coming off the bench.
14:33Garland takes his seat.
14:34Four minutes for Darius Garland.
14:36They'll pay attention to that
14:37and what his minute restriction is.
14:39I did mention this the other night.
14:40The minute restrictions are not necessarily symmetrical.
14:44They can play 10 minutes in one half
14:46and 20 minutes in the next half.
14:48We'll see what they do
14:48as they try to again stagger he and Kawhi Leonard
14:51in the first quarter.
14:52Jones collects the rebound.
14:54Back the other way.
14:55Tripped up by Rollins.
14:56A whistle stops.
14:57The clock was 6.33 to play.
14:59Here in this first quarter,
15:00we are tied at 11s in Inglewood.
15:05Free update for the Clippers,
15:07who got the overtime win at Dallas on Saturday,
15:10but it did come with a cost.
15:11John Collins sprained his left ankle late in the fourth quarter.
15:15Unfortunately, he reported increased soreness today,
15:18so he's being evaluated.
15:19Obviously, he's out tonight.
15:21And then also, Ben Matherin has been out.
15:24He's been dealing with a toe injury.
15:26He did participate in a 5-on-5 scrimmage today,
15:29so that's good news.
15:30The team is hopeful he'll be back this week.
15:33Gentlemen.
15:33You and I had both the same thought initially,
15:36that that was a knee injury for John Collins.
15:38As I said, I don't think I saw that angle.
15:40I saw his ankle buckle a little bit,
15:41but hopefully he'll be back sooner than later.
15:44Just a quick side note on the scrimmage Matherin played in.
15:47He shot 11 free throws in the scrimmage.
15:50Is it called your own foul?
15:51Yeah.
15:53Good news there, though, for Matherin.
15:55Obviously, keeping your condition at this point in the year,
15:57massive, massive importance.
15:59One totes go to the baseline for Kawhi.
16:01A whistle and a foul will send him to the line for a couple.
16:05And the Clippers, 4 of 8 from the field.
16:09Milwaukee, 4 of 11.
16:11These two teams play next week in Milwaukee.
16:13This is the last team the Clippers had yet to face.
16:15I can't recall a time when it was this deep into the season
16:18and two teams had played, but here we are.
16:26It is strange to not have a team faced to this point.
16:31It's like running into your fourth-grade classroom.
16:32Like, I'll never see it.

16:47Brian, question for you.
16:48Is Kawhi going to get 50-40-90 this year?
16:52I mean, he is so, so close.
16:55He got a little closer right there.
16:58It's funny when he's missed his free throws.
17:00They've been, like, he's missed two at a time.
17:03Yeah, yeah.
17:03Misses him in bunches and games, and then he goes on a streak.
17:07And Rollins misfires from three.
17:09If you look at his numbers over the last calendar year,
17:12that is essentially what he has done.
17:1350-40-90.
17:14We are seeing something that is truly incredible.
17:17Batum.
17:21Midway through the first, Clippers lead by two.
17:24Now late in the clock for Lopez as he hands it off to Leonard.
17:26Draws a crowd.
17:29Three to shoot.
17:30Lopez from the line to the lane and side over.
17:32Borrows up the window, and Rollins collects.
17:39Flips it in to Sims, not aware of the pass.
17:41Ball deflected, and then ultimately recovered by the Clippers.
17:45Second turnover for Milwaukee.
17:47Boyle, with a quick cleanup on the ball, had some sweat on it,
17:50so those big hands will dry it off quick.
17:54Lopez in the deep corner, picked up by Sims.
17:56Not at great angles, and now trying to back him down.
18:00Leaving Batum open, the three is good.
18:03Good job by Nikola just getting to open space,
18:07and Turner got lost chasing around the perimeter guy.
18:11In the office for Batum from three.
18:13First three for the Clippers, one of six.
18:16There he is, Garland, getting set to check in,
18:18as again, Tyloo trying to stagger those minutes with he and Kawhi Leonard.
18:22Batum on the second effort does not bother Miles Turner.
18:25As Turner rips the cords, he's got eight.
18:28Nikola returning the favor, just too far away from Turner.
18:31Chased him down, he got pumped off.
18:33Kawhi leaves it short.
18:34He's 0 for three from above the arc.
18:36It's 16-13.
18:38Clippers, 4.45 to play.
18:40Rollins, baseline drive.
18:42And lays it in around Leonard.
18:44And Ryan Rollins now with six.
18:47Yeah, and that's a signal right there of impressive stuff
18:49for Rollins to have that kind of burst get by Kawhi
18:52and use the backboard.
18:54Kawhi feeling very good from above the arc,
18:56but the numbers don't indicate that.
18:57Now 0 for 4 and 1 for 7 in the game.
19:01Turner from the wing to the lane.
19:04Ladles it to Sims.
19:05Off his hands and out of bounds,
19:07and the ball goes back to the Clippers.
19:09Clippers look lucky on the bobble there.
19:11Sims not able to control it,
19:12but Ryan Rollins able to control that last possession.
19:15And the round with the left hand is so good when you have time there
19:19to manipulate whether you're coming to the inside
19:23with your inside hand on the finish,
19:24and Ryan gets to the opposite side,
19:26keeping Kawhi Leonard at bay.
19:28It was around this time last year for Rollins and the Bucs
19:31that he started to trend in the right direction.
19:33He has kept it going here all year long.
19:36As Lopez controls, Clippers with a bit of a line change
19:39as Jordan Miller checks into the game along with Darius Garland.
19:43This is Jones, the 3,
19:44and Rollins controls for Milwaukee.
19:49Bucs 6 of 14.
19:51Clippers, yikes, 5 for 13.
19:52Ball knocked out of bounds.
19:55Good activity for Brooke, just getting caught across the lane,
19:59left hand reaching in and poking that one away from Rollins.
20:04A job Tyloo has done this year.
20:06Dr. Rivers remarked about it in the pregame meeting
20:09that we had with him.
20:11And then we come back from 6-21.
20:13Cuppers, the only team in the league
20:15to get over the 500 mark.
20:17They've been down 15 games below 500.
20:21That's not the goal.
20:26Turner on the wing, the 3.
20:28Jones has it.
20:29Clippers have a very good chance to finish this season over 500
20:32and again, importantly, get into the playoffs.
20:36Garland
20:41to get downhill on Trent.
20:43Whistle travel turnover.
20:45And Gary Trent Jr. and the Bucs forced the giveaway.
20:47It is the fifth against the Clippers here, who lead by 1.
20:51Darius lost his balance a little bit there,
20:53also ran back a little bit gimpy,
20:55checking that foot a little bit,
20:57so keep an eye on him.
21:02Rollins.
21:04He's going to cross blades with Chris Dunn.
21:08Bobby Portis,
21:09one of the great six men of the league,
21:11turns and fires.
21:12No sweat, no shoot.
21:13Not a problem for Bobby Portis.
21:15He lights the lamp,
21:16but he puts Milwaukee out in front by 1.
21:19Garland
21:21hangs his head,
21:22gets a whistle,
21:22he'll go to the line for 2.
21:24Ed Molloy, the opposite official there at that time,
21:26seeing the contact.
21:27It happened late.
21:29Trent saying he was straight up and vertical,
21:30but Ed saw it differently,
21:32so Darius will get to the free throw line.
21:38Look at Garland,
21:39and many people thought,
21:40well,
21:40it'll be an interesting situation.
21:41He's not next to another ball dominant player.
21:43No shade to Donovan Mitchell at all,
21:45but his usage rate is up.
21:47He is,
21:48he moves out there with a lot of freedom.
21:50He has looked very good of late.
21:52The thing I was looking into today, Brian,
21:53before the game,
21:54was there's 13 players in the NBA
21:56that make three or more threes a game.
21:58Luka just came off of four a game,
22:01so 13 guys.
22:03Darius,
22:04since joining the team,
22:05would be the 14th guy in the NBA,
22:07and in terms of off the dribble threes,
22:10Kawhi is 12th in the league,
22:12making one and a half.
22:13Darius is 14th in the league,
22:15so that ability,
22:16when you trade away a guy like James Harden,
22:18capable of exploding from three,
22:20and replace him with Darius,
22:22that's where he's made up the difference
22:23for this ball club.
22:24It's been fun adding pace,
22:26and he moves really well.
22:28It's been a lot of fun to watch,
22:29as we were seeing Portis,
22:30one of the great three-point shooters
22:31in the league as well.
22:32He misfires,
22:33and Dunn has it for the Clippers.
22:35They lead by one.
22:36Not a ton of energy on the floor right now,
22:38certainly not a lot in the arena.
22:40Not a lot to cheer about.
22:41Clippers,
22:42five for 13,
22:43Bucs,
22:44seven for 17.
22:45Kobe Sanders gets a clean look at a tray,
22:47and the rookie delivers.
22:48Kobe Sanders,
22:49when his number has been called,
22:51it seems like he's made a play each and every game.
22:53He knocks down the tray.
22:54Does a great job coming in,
22:56limited minutes,
22:57obviously,
22:57in the beginning of the season,
22:58relied on much more,
22:59but it's that kind of effort and energy
23:01that Ty Lue is looking for.
23:03Clippers out in front,
23:0421-17.
23:06Kobe Sanders puts it down.
23:15So, I hope he makes it for him,
23:17but he's going to be here regardless,
23:18as long as I'm here.
23:19You know,
23:20I want KD,
23:21you know,
23:21and so he means a lot to the team.
23:23Everything he brings,
23:24his unselfishness,
23:27and,
23:27you know,
23:28who he stands for as a person,
23:29he's just a winner.
23:29He does all the winning things,
23:30and so,
23:31whether he makes it or not,
23:32which I hope he does for him,
23:34but he'll be here.
23:35Now,
23:35the question that was asked was,
23:37if Chris Dunn makes an All-NBA team,
23:39he's guaranteed for next year.
23:41And so,
23:41it doesn't matter.
23:42He's here next year,
23:43and I love that,
23:45and I know the fans feel the same way.
23:46Chris is the only Clipper to play in every game.
23:49Ty Lue missed a game.
23:50He's been here for more games than Ty Lue this year.
23:52He didn't qualify last year for All-Defensive
23:55because there's a mechanism about how many games you play
23:57that are 20 or more minutes,
23:58not just the amount of games.
24:00There's probably going to be some tinkering
24:02with that rule going forward.
24:04Speak of the devil,
24:05and he shall appear.
24:06Dunn with the deflection.
24:07Checks in the finish,
24:08and the Clippers are out in front 23-17.
24:11Chris has been remarkable this year.
24:12It's been a real treat to cover the team this year
24:14and watch Chris Dunn on a nightmare.
24:16He bases and what he does
24:18in terms of the intangibles he brings to the floor.
24:21Frank, a whistle,
24:23and a foul stops the clock
24:24with 213 to play in his first quarter.
24:282.8 deflections a game for Chris Dunn.
24:31Right here, just one-on-one defense.
24:33Timing the pickpocket with the left hand,
24:36igniting fast break and easy points
24:38as Isaiah gets to the finger roll.
24:43Delayed, but we'll take it.
24:46The deflections doesn't seem like that's enough.
24:48I feel like Chris Dunn has one or two of possession.
24:52It's a rocky little statistic,
24:53but I've seen it as well.
24:55The three, it is good.
24:56A sniper that made his name in Portland,
24:59has been in Toronto as well.
25:01I thought it was a nice pickup last year
25:03for Milwaukee.
25:04He cuts the lead in half.
25:05It's 23-20.
25:10Garland.
25:11Sanders is all alone in the corner for three.
25:14It's a roof scraper, but it goes in and out.
25:16And the rebound collected by Milwaukee.
25:25And it's 23-22.
25:28That game has been in the NBA for four, five decades.
25:33Larry Nance, Larry Nance Jr., now Pete Nance.
25:35Here is Miller inside.
25:36He lays it home.
25:37It's 25-22.
25:39The response there for Jordan,
25:41just so good at snaking his way into the painted area.
25:45Nice finish.
25:48Deflection.
25:49Portis goes in on Garland,
25:52twisting and turning,
25:53a whistle and a foul on the floor.
25:55And Garland was in jail there,
25:57going up against Portis.
25:59One way to not take the contact on a play like that,
26:02just grab a jersey.
26:03You know what?
26:04Don't take it to the body.
26:05Let the officials know,
26:06I am going to foul you,
26:07but this is the way I'm going to do it.
26:09I'm going to grab a little fabric here.
26:10You can see this clearly.
26:11I'll raise my hand.
26:13I'll stay away from any injury.
26:15I believe that you should be given like a $50 credit
26:18in your paycheck if you acknowledge a whistle.
26:20That was on me.
26:21I fouled it.
26:22Really?
26:23You should take $100 for every player
26:26that makes the tour really replay.
26:29I did not foul hit a symbol,
26:31so most players would be donated.
26:34You're going to be on the competition committee this summer.
26:36I'm going to make that happen.
26:37Sanders from the wing into the paint.
26:39Strip recovers.
26:41Tries to dump it into Jackson.
26:42Good hands there by Portis.
26:44You know, in this league,
26:44it's so hard to throw a four-foot pass.
26:46This room covered up by length,
26:48and so Kobe gets the turnover on that one.
26:51Portis down the lane on Jackson.
26:53Blocked by Jackson.
26:55Garland runs the show.
26:56Clippers by three.
26:57Two for one opportunity.
26:58It's done in the corner for three.
27:00He puts it in.
27:02Done now with his second basket,
27:04and it's 28-22, Clippers.
27:06Love the little burst here.
27:07Great transition.
27:08Chris spot it up.
27:10He's shooting the ball so well this year.
27:12It's going to be Milwaukee ball to start the second quarter.
27:14Nance inside.
27:16Green.
27:19Recaptures his balance,
27:20and now plays back to Jang.
27:22Five to shoot.
27:22Picked up by Miller.
27:24A backpedal three.
27:26Rebound tapped skyward by Portis.
27:28And he keeps it alive for the Bucs.
27:30Crossing blades with Jackson.
27:32Let's it fly,
27:32and Bobby Portis Jr. knocks it off.
27:34So good in that mid-range area, Brian.
27:38Heave at half court for Garland.
27:40That eyes doesn't fall.
27:41Nevertheless,
27:42Clippers take a 28-24 lead
27:44at the end of one.
27:47Garland leads the way
27:48with seven for the Clippers.
28:07Let's take a look at the Kaiser proven outcomes,
28:10and that was something you were talking about.
28:11May 3's in the game since
28:14Darius Garland has joined the Clippers
28:16in terms of his first game,
28:18which was March 2nd.
28:19That's it, man.
28:20That is an impressive list to be a part of.
28:23In terms of Luka Doncic,
28:24a little mellow ball,
28:24those guys putting him in.
28:25But the way he has moved
28:27has really been fun to watch.
28:29And talking with some of the coaches
28:30when we were going to Golden State
28:32for that first game,
28:33they said,
28:33if there's a player
28:34that can kind of look like Steph Curry,
28:37it is Darius Garland
28:38with the way that he moves
28:39with and without the ball.
28:40Well, Jang inside,
28:42and he's played every minute so far,
28:44lays that one in,
28:45possibly down to two.
28:46I do want to mention,
28:46the only reason I mentioned that
28:48as I snuck in the truck
28:48and saw that graphic.
28:50So I want to say it
28:51before you saw it.
28:52It's still research.
28:53Okay, good.
28:54Excellent.
28:55Jordan Miller.
28:56Picked up by Nance.
29:00Sanders again,
29:01open for three.
29:02That's his second.
29:03It's 31-26,
29:05and Sanders has made an impact
29:07in his four minutes.
29:08I do like that seven of the buckets
29:10in the first quarter
29:11were assisted on seven of the nine.
29:13So the ball movement so far
29:15pretty good for the Clippers.
29:18Portis pretends to shoot,
29:19now drives the lane,
29:20scoop to the hoop,
29:21and lays it in.
29:22Again, a gifted scorer off the bench.
29:24He's got six.
29:25Couple times the backside
29:26has been open,
29:27whether it's cuts or drives,
29:28where there's been no
29:29help side defense
29:30for the Clippers.
29:32Dunn loses his footing.
29:33Miller able to recapture it.
29:34Whistle.
29:34And a foul on the floor.
29:36Clippers are 10 of 19
29:37from the floor.
29:39Kawhi Leonard is one for seven.
29:43That bodes well for the Clippers.
29:4531-28.
29:47The part I don't want
29:48the Clippers to get lulled
29:49into what happened in Phoenix.
29:50Milwaukee just scored 15 points
29:52in that first quarter
29:53and looked disheveled
29:54and out of place.
29:55And all of a sudden,
29:57bang, 42 in the second.
29:58And went on to win that game.
30:00So they're still capable.
30:02And they hit 16 threes
30:03in that game as well.
30:04Garland knocks down
30:05his second triple,
30:0734-28.
30:08Milwaukee's second best
30:09in the league
30:10in terms of percentage
30:11from above the arc.
30:12Miller lobs it back
30:13to Sander
30:14who lays it in.
30:17A whistle
30:18and a timeout
30:19for Doc Rivers.
30:20Most of the time,
30:22bad passes to Ali-Oops
30:23turn out to be
30:24the best dunks.
30:25I'll just take the two points.
30:26Coming off the great defense,
30:28helps you get out
30:29into transition.
30:30We talked about
30:30the unselfish play
30:31in the first quarter.
30:33Continues here
30:34in the second
30:34for the highlight finish
30:36from Kobe Sanders.
30:41Hard here in the second quarter
30:43for the Clippers.
30:44Take a spin around the NBA.
30:46Hey, this just in Oklahoma City,
30:48very good.
30:49But the middle part there,
30:50Indiana,
30:51that is of interest
30:52to the Clippers.
30:52Remember,
30:53Clippers have a shot
30:55at having that Pacer
30:56first-round pick
30:57if it falls into the area
30:59of five through nine.
31:03And if it happens this year,
31:04I don't know where you see
31:05if it happens this year,
31:06great.
31:06If it doesn't happen
31:07and you still get
31:07those unprotected picks
31:08two to four years
31:10down the road,
31:10I'm just as good
31:11with that as well.
31:12I think the picks are 20-31,
31:13but in this year's draft,
31:15I'll tell you what,
31:15I'll take the coin flip
31:16coming up red and blue.
31:18This year,
31:19that would be amazing.
31:20It is a deep draft.
31:22There is a lot of talent
31:23that has been on display
31:24over the last few days
31:25with the NCAA tournament.
31:28Whistle and a foul goes
31:29on Jackson.
31:31Clippers three for three
31:33in this quarter.
31:34That's scored Milwaukee
31:34eight to four.
31:43Portis,
31:43the hot hand off the bench,
31:45continues to smolder.
31:47He's four for six.
31:48He's got eight points
31:49in six minutes.
31:52Sanders.
31:52Give the rookie
31:53a hat trick
31:54and Kobe Sanders
31:56coming off the bench
31:56now with 11.
31:58Good to see with Kobe.
31:59Now let's see
31:59if there's an adjustment
32:00by the Clippers
32:01if they go back
32:01to Portis.
32:02Will Isaiah make him
32:03put it on the floor?
32:04No.
32:05Lucky.
32:06Rebound tapped up,
32:07but not in by Nance.
32:09Clippers control.
32:10Garland the other way.
32:11He'll fire.
32:12It's a deep three.
32:13Jackson,
32:14surrounded by white jerseys,
32:16lays it up and in.
32:17Isaiah Jackson
32:18with his second bucket.
32:19Clippers lead by 11.
32:20That great length
32:21inside Isaiah.
32:22Anytime he can position
32:23himself around the basket
32:25has a great opportunity.
32:26to collect the offensive rebate.
32:28Now it's Sanders on Portis.
32:30His mouth begins to water.
32:31Backs down.
32:33Spins, fades, fires.
32:35Missed his last two.
32:36Wish he'll lose.
32:37Ball foul goes against
32:38the Clippers.
32:41So important to run in transition
32:43and not just to play with the ball.
32:45Actually, way more important
32:46for your teammates
32:47to find some spacing
32:48in that deep left corners
32:50where Kobe was spotted up
32:51to knock down his third three.
32:53And then Isaiah,
32:54look at that extension
32:55with the left hand.
32:56Takes a couple of grabs
32:57on the inside
32:58and still able to finish.
33:00Kobe Sanders shooting
33:0140% from three.
33:03And he's rookie year
33:04with a great surprise
33:05for the Clippers.
33:07He's taking that opportunity
33:08he's been given
33:09and right with it.
33:10Portis has now missed
33:10his last three.
33:12Miller controls
33:12for the Clippers
33:13out in front by 11.
33:17Miller, the fadeaway.
33:20Rebound goes
33:20to Milwaukee.
33:26Rollins loses his footing
33:28but saves it.
33:29However, it will be
33:30an over and back.
33:33Doc Rivers campaigning
33:34for a whistle.
33:35Not going to get it.
33:368.53 to play in the half.
33:37Doc wanting to call
33:38on the trip there
33:39was thinking as Rollins
33:41was on the floor
33:41for a reason.
33:42It might have been
33:43a size 17 shoe
33:44that he tripped over
33:45but is not going
33:46to get the call.
33:52That's a quick
33:53emotional swim there
33:54for Doc.
33:55Livid to laughing.
33:58I mean, what hasn't
33:59he seen in this game?
34:01I mean, so many years
34:03of course coaching
34:04at the highest level
34:04winning a championship
34:06and managing
34:09and growing stars
34:11and young men
34:12in this league.
34:13DeAndre Jordan
34:14became an all-NBA guy
34:16under Doc Rivers' watch.
34:18Clippers missed the other way
34:19still leading by 11.
34:21Nance with the punch
34:22the other way.
34:23Do want to congratulate
34:24Pete Nance
34:25converted today
34:26from a two-way contract
34:27to a standard deal.
34:28They let go Cam Thomas
34:30who they had picked up
34:31right after the trade deadline
34:33who was waived by the Nets.
34:34So congrats to Pete.
34:35The wide draw is the foul.
34:37He'll go to the line.
34:38Doc Rivers was very
34:39effusive with his praise
34:40about Pete Nance
34:41and how he earned
34:42that contract.
34:43It's a great story
34:44the Nance family.
34:47Do you need brothers
34:48that played in the league
34:49or families that had
34:50and they weren't
34:51they weren't good enough.
34:53No, I'm kidding.
34:54Of course.
34:55Been an amazing
34:56life experience
34:57Brian to be around
34:58this league
34:59for now my 33rd year
35:01if you count one year
35:03as a Golden State
35:03Warrior ball boy
35:04back when I was four.
35:05I'll count that one.
35:07My brother John
35:08played 14 seasons.
35:10My dad
35:10of course
35:11a Hall of Fame career
35:12played 14 seasons himself.
35:13My younger brother
35:14drew two and a half years
35:15in the NBA
35:17and my brother
35:18Scooter cut
35:18by the Boston Celtics
35:20in 1987.
35:22But Scooter
35:22is 89, sorry
35:24many people think
35:25Scooter is the
35:26brilliant Barry
35:27based off of his
35:28collegiate education.
35:29At KU's
35:30you're welcome.
35:31Go Jayhawk.
35:32Tough loss
35:33for the Jayhawk.
35:34I forgot what happened.
35:35Trent the three
35:36is good.
35:3743-35
35:39you do realize
35:39that being in the NBA
35:40is just not a normal thing.
35:41I can't imagine
35:42how you even think about it.
35:43Yeah, I think
35:44you literally
35:45haven't had a single moment
35:46in your life
35:47where it hasn't been
35:48in your life.
35:49I hope I get a real job too.
35:51They're overrated
35:52trust me.
35:53Garland controls
35:54for the Clippers
35:55under 8 to play
35:56in the first half.
35:57It's 43-35.
36:01Goes off the handles
36:02creates the space
36:03and shows off the touch.
36:06Put it in the highlight reel.
36:08Garland rips the cords.
36:09He's got 13.
36:10Great to have DG
36:11get this crowd
36:12on their feet.
36:13First time we hear
36:13them celebrate.
36:15Jericho Sims
36:15the finish inside.
36:1746-37.
36:24Kawhi,
36:25bit of a struggle
36:25so far for him.
36:261 for 7.
36:27Goes right at Rollins.
36:29Stops in the paint.
36:30Let's it fly
36:30from 7
36:31and drops it in.
36:32How many times
36:33did you see that
36:33in the Dallas game
36:34and Nembhardt was switched
36:35as a small point guard.
36:36I think
36:37Ty Lue trying to find
36:38ways to punish
36:40small players
36:40on Kawhi
36:41come playoff time.
36:43Very effective.
36:44Pinballs around
36:44and falls into
36:45the lap of Jackson.
36:46Clippers have numbers.
36:47Jackson
36:50swings it over
36:51to Kawhi.
36:52The corner 3.
36:53Book it.
36:545 quick ones
36:55for Kawhi.
36:56He's got 13
36:57and the Clippers
36:58now lead 51-37.
37:00Awesome to see Kawhi
37:01get back into
37:02the rhythm of this game
37:03and that spells
37:04some doom
37:05for the Bucs
37:05with nobody
37:06to match up
37:07with him.
37:07Clippers 8 of 11
37:08from the field.
37:09Milwaukee not bad
37:10at 6 of 10.
37:13Trent misses
37:14on the 3.
37:15Clippers do have
37:165 3-pointers
37:17in the quarter.
37:18That's basically
37:18the difference.
37:19Leonard on Nance.
37:21Pump fake.
37:22Pulls the trigger.
37:247 in a row
37:25for Leonard.
37:26Timeout.
37:26Doc Rivers
37:27and the Bucs
37:2853-37.
37:33Well the Clips
37:34have it going
37:35and nice to see
37:36them stretching it out
37:37using the 3-point line
37:38to their advantage.
37:39Some fancy dribbling
37:40there from Darius Garland
37:41knocks down the long
37:423-ball and then Kawhi
37:43getting into the act
37:45from the deep left corner
37:46over Portis
37:47will take 3 more.
37:50Five guys
37:51knocking down 3s
37:52for the Clippers
37:53and in a variety
37:54of ways
37:55first DG
37:56off the high pick and roll
37:57moving left.
37:59The two
38:00working to the baseline
38:02getting the feed
38:02a great pass there
38:04from Jordan Miller
38:05to get Kobe Sanders
38:06who's got 3 himself
38:07and then Kawhi says
38:08don't do not forget
38:09about me.
38:113 for him.
38:12The first 9 for 16.
38:14There you see it
38:14above the arc.
38:1753-37.
38:18How many times
38:19have the Clippers
38:19had games where they've
38:20had 4 or 5 3s
38:22in fact it took just
38:2317 a few weeks ago
38:25in Memphis
38:27being away with the win
38:30it's not easy
38:31to win in this league
38:31anymore
38:32if you can't hit
38:32from above the arc
38:33Rollins inside
38:34spoon feeds
38:35Sims for the finish
38:36it's 53-39.
38:38Jericho Sims
38:39one of those guys
38:39who's just one of the
38:41most explosive jumpers
38:42in the league
38:43so anytime he's around
38:44the rim
38:45he's throwing that
38:46thing too hard
38:48it'd be hard to believe
38:49that all of his field
38:49goals are in the
38:51pinked area
38:52Leonard
38:52he's got the last
38:54seven for the Clippers
38:55picked up by Turner
38:59Kawhi a whistle
39:00he'll go to the line
39:00for a couple
39:01he talked so much
39:02Brian about guys
39:03being able to score
39:04in a phone booth
39:05at some point
39:06I'll describe what
39:06a phone booth is
39:07to the kids
39:08but you see Kawhi
39:09with the footwork
39:10just operating
39:10trying to get
39:11Turner to lean
39:12one way or another
39:13before he explodes
39:14and that kind of
39:15efficiency
39:15the way Kawhi can
39:17use his strength
39:17is something that
39:18I think a lot of
39:19people around the league
39:20just are
39:22incredibly impressed by
39:24look at a quick
39:25word from Kia
39:34it has been more
39:35than one
39:37rookie of the year
39:38welcome to the
39:38rookie
39:39welcome to the NBA
39:40moment
39:41guarding Kawhi
39:42and feeling
39:42just how strong
39:43he is
39:44many people
39:46think that he
39:46has been made
39:47of steel
39:47and who am I
39:48to argue that
39:5054-39
39:51Clippers
39:5155-39
39:53Kawhi
39:54starting to find
39:55the range
39:55after going
39:55to 1-7
39:56he's hit his
39:57last three
39:57now
39:58quickly
39:59with a game
39:59high 17
40:06Troy and Prince
40:089 to shoot
40:09now for Rollins
40:13step back 15-footer
40:15that's not an easy
40:16shot to make
40:16he knocks it down
40:17he's got a
40:18now he read that
40:19Brooke Lopez was
40:20sitting down there
40:20on the interior
40:21decided to pull up
40:22and got that over
40:23Jordan
40:23Miller
40:24mid-range jumper
40:26to Ryan Rollins
40:27that pass by Batum
40:28deflected
40:28and the
40:29jumpers cannot recover
40:30five minutes to play
40:31in the first half
40:32Rollins
40:34Prince
40:35driven off the line
40:36by Jones
40:36up top to Kawhi
40:38Jones the other way
40:40with turn of the beat
40:43Miller can't finish it
40:49called basket interference
40:51there on Jordan Miller
40:52and the ball goes back to
40:54Milwaukee missed
40:54opportunity
40:56good call by Rodney
40:57Maude the ball had not
40:58quite cleared the rim
40:59before it is that Jordan
41:01had an opportunity to put
41:02it back
41:03you rarely see the spring
41:05back
41:06you know balls getting
41:08jacked up in the air like
41:09that
41:19Rollins
41:20tether shoot for Milwaukee
41:25Turner
41:25not great spacing
41:26runs into his own
41:27teammate
41:28can't bail him out
41:29it's a whistle
41:30and a travel
41:30and a turn over
41:31the 10th on Milwaukee
41:33he called it
41:33Brian spacing
41:34was off on that
41:36particular play
41:37and Ryan Rollins
41:38trying to clear
41:39space not quick enough
41:40for Turner
41:40runs right into him
41:49Leonard works off
41:50the Lopez screen
41:51attacks on Turner
41:52then fades away
41:53he's now hit
41:54four in a row
41:55he's got 19
41:56in 12 minutes
41:57how many players
41:58decide to go into
41:59the biggest player
42:00on the court
42:01to make contact
42:01before clearing space
42:03I know one that does
42:04that's Kawhi Leonard
42:05Prince the corner
42:06three
42:09Simms the rebound
42:11Turner the catch
42:12and shoot
42:12Trey from the wing
42:14Kawhi
42:17was hunched over
42:18for a moment
42:18appears to be
42:19okay
42:20Clippers out in front
42:2157-41
42:23Miller the other way
42:25Batum
42:27backpedals
42:27into a corner
42:28three
42:29Miller the rebound
42:30inside
42:31plays back to Batum
42:32for a no dip
42:33three
42:33same result
42:37Lopez says
42:38it's my turn
42:38and he knocks it
42:40down
42:40the former
42:41Buck gets his
42:42first bucket
42:43Clippers by 19
42:46well too many bullets
42:48that time
42:49for the Clippers
42:50and there you see
42:51Sims again
42:52at the rim
42:53what's interesting
42:54Brian about Sims
42:55is you kind of start
42:56have to thinking
42:57about boxing out
42:58that player
42:59at the free throw line
42:59as we go back
43:00to the replay
43:01and Brooke
43:02knocking that one down
43:04oh I like that
43:06Sally
43:06okay
43:07well something new
43:08from Brooke
43:09but with Sims
43:10you start boxing
43:11him out
43:12at the free throw line
43:12instead of playing him
43:13to make a play
43:14or set a screen
43:15he's that effective
43:16as an offensive rebounder
43:19second round pick
43:19back in 2021
43:21spent three and a half
43:22years with the Knicks
43:2660-41
43:30Rollins
43:31deflected
43:31Leonard
43:32picks it up
43:33does not have
43:33anybody to run with
43:36doesn't seem to care
43:37puts it up
43:37wants a whistle
43:38not going to get it
43:39well I had made
43:40four in a row
43:41and now Rollins
43:42the other way
43:43with three minutes
43:44to play in the second
43:44quarter
43:48Prince
43:49this is short
43:50rebound goes back
43:51to Milwaukee
43:54Rollins
43:55a straight on
43:55D3
43:56it's good
43:57he's very good
43:58from the top
43:59of the key
44:00and he knocks
44:01that one in
44:02cutting the lead
44:02to 16
44:03kind of a
44:04resuscitating shot
44:05there for Milwaukee
44:06down 19
44:06to get that three
44:07another stop
44:08here and they feel like
44:09they're still within
44:10striking distance in this
44:11first half
44:12done cutting in
44:13whistle will send him to
44:14the line
44:20it's the fourth foul on
44:22Milwaukee
44:22Clippers with three team
44:23fouls
44:24that goes on Sims
44:27the person off day tomorrow
44:30remember this is March
44:31they played 18 games in 31 days
44:33every other day
44:34and then some had a few back to backs in there as well
44:38done the first of two
44:39it falls
44:40for the game's better in person
44:41make memories and experience Clippers basketball
44:43with the energy of intuitive
44:45get tickets at Clippers dot com
44:47slash tickets
44:50Brian the recent change here with Chris coming off the bench
44:53I feel like that's giving the Clippers what kind of dynamic
44:56with that starting lineup
44:58that's interesting
44:59I don't think they've had a full run of it
45:01because he's been in and out of that starting line
45:03because of injuries
45:06the way that Ty said it to me
45:08is he wanted a second ball handler
45:10on the off the bench
45:11and it was more to help the second unit
45:13than it was to do anything to the first unit
45:16I'm with you
45:17I think it's full fruition
45:19I think it's the first option is when it is that Chris is coming off
45:21with Matherin
45:23and Jordan Miller
45:24it's like a combination of those guys
45:26and what Chris can open up for them
45:28on both ends of the floor
45:30with that trio coming in
45:31you got a coach's challenge here in Inglewood
45:332.23 to play Clippers by 19
45:37challenge this
45:3862-44 out in front here in the second quarter
45:41let's see what they were
45:43interested in
45:46Brooklyn Kawhi up there
45:48and Kawhi seems to make contact
45:50directly with the ball there
45:52and then Miles Turner loses
45:54control of it
45:56obviously flailing
45:57but it didn't look like Kawhi made
45:59any kind of contact with Turner
46:01on the forearms or on the hands
46:04I'll say that's one of the few blocked shots I've seen with a forearm
46:13I didn't see who got the ball
46:14did it go out of bounds
46:29it's the ball
46:33it's the ball
46:33Brian in these plays
46:35is determined to go out of bounds
46:38his eminent possession then become the Clippers because there was no
46:41possession by any one player
46:43it's just a violation with the
46:45the ball going out of bounds
46:47after replay review there is clear and conclusive video evidence that the defender Leonard makes legal contact to the basketball
46:53which then the ball hits Turner in the face therefore it's a successful challenge and not a foul
46:59when the whistle was blown
47:02there was no control or no imminent possession therefore we're gonna go jump ball center circle any two players that
47:08were in the game with 24 seconds on the shot clock
47:11well Brent I've done some extensive research and when there is no eminent possession they just do a jump ball
47:17I was waiting for you to him to say that's like it
47:20sounds like the biggest cram and cheat that you've said on the air at least tonight
47:28yeah I was curious about that and I'm wondering you know come playoff time when there's a play that happens
47:32really fast and the ball gets out of bounds
47:34it's possession will be awarded to the defense but in this point or at this point the jump ball will
47:40happen
47:42the toss the tap Lopez able to guide it back to Jones so 221 to play in the second quarter
47:47it's 62 44 Clippers
47:5057 percent from the field
47:54Jones
47:55crosses over Jang
47:57hangs and hits what a shot by Jones
47:59it's his first bucket but it puts the Clippers out in front by 20
48:05good drive how many athletic finishes it might be all of them but Jones Jr.
48:10and Jones gets
48:12hit the other way it's a whistle and an offensive foul on Milwaukee
48:15you know Brian in these sets you can run
48:17two ways if you have a right-handed strong player you're gonna run it to the left elbow this time
48:21it's on the right side
48:22they clear out and let Derrick Jones Jr. operate in space
48:26quick dribble and again great finish
48:29by Derrick
48:31when it drives on Prince
48:34extra pass finds Dunn
48:36the corner three
48:37hits one from that spot earlier
48:38misses there
48:39you dang the rebound from Milwaukee
48:43Bucks led early in this game by two but
48:45once Kawhi Leonard was able to find the range after a one for seven start
48:49the Clippers have had the Bucks in their rearview mirror
48:51Prince knocks down the three
48:52his second basket he's got five in the game at 64 47
48:56Bucks keep making a shot just to keep themselves above water here before the half
49:05the ball is a gift from Milwaukee the Clippers have one
49:08Lopez from the line to the lane and lays it in
49:12Brooklyn Lopez second bucket he's got five as well
49:18Rollins
49:20throws it right into the hands of Leonard I head to Jones Jones with a nice finish inside
49:29Derrick even got some contact there the bench is up in arms as well looking for a foul
49:33but out in transition another easy two for the Clippers
49:39into the Clippers would bring them back to that 500 Mark Rollins the fadeaway rebound to Batuma two for one
49:46for the Clippers
49:49he's got six
49:50Kawhi knows it lets it fly
49:52oh he puts it in Leonard with 22
49:56and the streak continues
50:01Kawhi with that 20
50:03point
50:05game streak
50:05it has been impressive all season long
50:0822 for Kawhi getting with one for seven to start
50:12he is six for 13 of the game
50:14deflection by Batum recovered by Kawhi shot clock is dark
50:20Leonard another three
50:23and Sims the rebound and that'll do it the Clippers explode in the second quarter on Milwaukee
50:29outscoring them 43 to 23
50:33seven triples in the quarter
50:35five
50:35and C
50:35good
