00:04This is Progress of the ColecoVision, a game that I'm sure quite a lot of people are familiar with, it's
00:10an arcade classic, and I apologise for the red lines going across the screen currently, because I have this through
00:17the DVD recorder.
00:20The ColecoVision and the Mega Drive are very, very slightly different frequency levels, so the fine tuning isn't perfect on
00:29this, so it's just like one or two in between the two to have a perfect picture, so it hasn't
00:34recorded, well it's recorded with red lines, but ignoring that, this is a great game to play as a classic
00:42arcade title, and it is extremely fun to play, it's a great pick up and play game, it doesn't take
00:48a lot of time,
00:49skill to get a few levels in, but it does take quite a lot of skill to get past the
00:53later levels, and I didn't have quite that much practice at this lately, and this doesn't mean I'm doing too
01:01bad actually in the first attempt, I normally do it absolutely poorly in the first attempt at this, but I
01:07didn't do too bad, there's a two player option where you take it in turns, when one player dies and
01:14the next player takes over, and there's also slow and fast mode,
01:19and there's also an option to turn on and off for music, but why don't you turn off this music,
01:24seriously, this is just such a classic game tune, it's just amazing, in fact I quite happily have this is
01:30my ringtone on my phone, it is that good, and even the sound effects are just classic arcade titles, they
01:37remind me of going to Blackpool in the arcades and wanting to play some of the giant games, but honestly
01:43not knowing what the hell they were when I was doing it.
01:47Gameplay is simple, get the frog across the road, across all the cars without dying, and make it across the
01:59disappearing things in the river floating by, jumping across onto the logs, and into each of the five slots, avoiding
02:09crocodiles of course, and there's also little things that appear on the logs sometimes,
02:15which give you extra points, and there's also these little other things, which appear in one of the slots to
02:22give you extra points as well.
02:24I'm also not sure what some of the things are, the crocodiles are quite obvious, as are the logs, and
02:29the cars, but those little, they're not lilypads, I don't know what they are, but whatever they are, they're floating
02:37and helping a little frog get across.
02:40Or I suppose your little family of frogs, bearing in line five get across at that time.
02:47And there's also a little timer at the bottom, the faster you deal with what points you get, and if
02:53you run out of time, then you lose a life, I think, and you haven't actually run out of time.
03:14So, the gameplay is pretty simple, but very very challenging at the same time, and it does take quite a
03:19bit of skill to get to the more difficult levels in the game.
03:26Not a really great deal, I have to say about this, it is on a number of platforms, I probably
03:31could not name every single one to you, so I won't bother attempting to.
03:35And, yeah, if you own any of the platforms, I think it's even probably on the PC, I'm very sure
03:41it is.
03:42But, if you haven't got it, I'm just saying, you should definitely look out for it, even if you just
03:48download the program in there.
03:49I'm sure it will play very well using the keyboard keys, you don't need any of the buttons.
03:56There's quite a few later versions released, I don't know if there was the sequel of the Dreamcast, which I
04:03have played, and honestly, it's a very strange game, I don't like the original at all.
04:07It's more like a 3D world platform, I'm not sure what I can do because it does some sort of
04:14story line before I can do extremely weird things on that version.
04:18But, like I said, I haven't really played into it, and I don't think I ever will get too far
04:24into it.
04:24So, it's not what I'm actually going to do, kind of a violent thing.
04:29But, yeah, there's nothing much else to say. Great game, I'm sure everyone knows what it is, so let's just
04:34watch me play the game.
