00:01This program documents actual homicide investigations.
00:05Criminal charges are often dropped or reduced,
00:07and all suspects shown are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
00:23When the accounting police talk, can I assist you?
00:26Hi, yes. I'm calling from the Paid & Co. H.O.A.
00:30And we had a truck yesterday was parked in our entry.
00:34This is no parking, and it's just sitting in for 24 hours.
00:39So we wanted to call it in.
00:41Okay. And can I get a description of the vehicle?
00:44It's a white.
00:46Can I get the address, please?
00:51We're at Paid & Co. H.O.A.
00:54All right, ma'am.
01:01How can we help her?
01:04Good evening.
01:06I'm calling to report to my husband
01:20Theirad of Guadalupe GarcĂa RodrĂguez,
01:24What color and type of vehicle.
01:27Is a brown bike, 4 x 4.
01:31And a Chevrolet.
01:41532 to radio.
01:42I'm 10-7.
01:43We're in the car.
01:44We're in the one out for this morning.
01:51Guadalupe Garcia.
01:52We're ready to put on it.
02:03The radio looks like an individual in the car in the passenger seat.
02:08They don't really have a decent visual on them.
02:10I'm going to try and wake them up.
02:18513, code 22.
02:20Not responding to me, knocking on the window.
02:27Door was unlocked.
02:29It's like mail.
02:30It's going to be laying in the passenger seat, upside down, head towards the ground.
02:36A large pool, but it'll be an obvious 48-7.
02:54For homicide detectives, their chance of solving a murderer is cut in half
02:59if they don't get a lead within the first 48 hours.
03:20Morning.
03:21Morning.
03:24Truck has been here since 7 o'clock Monday morning.
03:27Okay.
03:29Got the guy Tuesday afternoon.
03:31The family reports him missing.
03:33Wife last seen him about 6 a.m. Monday morning.
03:36Right.
03:37What's today?
03:38Wednesday?
03:39A couple days.
03:41And his address is not too far from here.
03:44Okay.
03:47Guadalupe Garcia Rodriguez.
03:5339-year-old Guadalupe Garcia Rodriguez was born and raised in Oaxaca, Mexico
03:58and moved to Georgia 12 years ago.
04:01The youngest of eight, he worked for a local tree service
04:04and lived with his wife of 10 years
04:06and their two young children in a mobile home park
04:10two miles from where his truck was found.
04:27So, you have him.
04:30He's under this jacket.
04:32Laying in a pool of blood.
04:34One projectile's in his leg.
04:37Guadalupe was shot twice.
04:40Once in his right thigh
04:43and once in the chest.
04:46When I crawl over him to look down,
04:48I don't see a gun.
04:50Right.
04:53We have one shell casing there.
04:56Mm-hmm.
04:59Right there.
05:00You have that one.
05:03Nine millimeter casings.
05:05You got a defect right here.
05:07There's blood.
05:09You see that?
05:12He's got an entry wound in his right leg,
05:14which there's a defect in the center console,
05:17you know, from the passenger side going to the driver's side.
05:20So, he was in the driver's seat when he got shot in the leg.
05:23Mm-hmm.
05:24Guy was in the passenger seat, shot him in the leg,
05:27and then dragged him over to the passenger side.
05:30I think the guy pushed him down there
05:32and then covered him with the jacket.
05:34I could put it over him and get sealed.
05:36Yeah.
05:36That's what it was like.
05:43Hey, Manny.
05:47Hold him.
05:51Right, please.
05:54This looks like a laceration.
05:57Possibly pistol-whipped.
05:59He's got a cone wrapped around his neck.
06:03Like a phone charger.
06:04Looks like it might be tied on one side.
06:08So, they choked him out.
06:12He's got a wallet.
06:15Got cash in it, it looks like.
06:20No cell phone in the truck?
06:21Not that I saw, no.
06:24Somebody wanted this guy dead.
06:26Why?
06:27That's the question.
06:43Black one.
06:44Yes.
06:45You might have a witness down here.
06:48She said she reported it as a 1A.
06:52The woman who called in the truck as a suspicious vehicle arrives on scene.
06:57Okay, we'll talk to her.
06:59Morning.
07:00Good morning.
07:02Hey, my name's Corporal Blackburn.
07:03I work with the Gwinnett County Police Department.
07:05Okay.
07:05Can I ask you a couple questions?
07:07You want to stand over here where the lights are not blinding us?
07:10Did you call to report the vehicle on the side of the road?
07:15Monday morning, I was on my way to work around 7.15.
07:19I was coming out.
07:22I saw his truck.
07:23I was like, why is he parked here?
07:26Because he's in a no parking.
07:27Right.
07:28Going out, saw his short Hispanic car.
07:31Get out the truck.
07:32He was on the drive side.
07:33And then he opened up the back door and got a bag.
07:37Right.
07:37Closed the door and started walking down the street.
07:40He was walking towards the entrance to make him look.
07:44And I was like, is he leaving this car?
07:46I saw him walk across the street in front of me.
07:50And he walked across the auto center.
07:53He was in their driveway.
07:55And he walked up on Lawrenceville Highway.
07:58Going southbound.
07:59Mm-hmm.
08:00Okay.
08:00When I came home Monday night,
08:02I saw the truck was still there.
08:04So I said, okay, I'll call.
08:06Make sure it is not stolen or anything.
08:08So that's when I called the police.
08:09Right.
08:11I'm scared to ask or something.
08:12I think you already know the answer to that.
08:18On Monday, did you ever hear a gunshot?
08:21No.
08:22No.
08:23There had any commotion?
08:24No.
08:25No.
08:27A short Hispanic man,
08:29do you remember what color shirt he was wearing?
08:30It was, like, black with some gray in it.
08:33Black and gray?
08:34Okay.
08:34It was sleeveless.
08:35Okay.
08:36Um, I can't remember his pants or nothing,
08:38but I know he had, like, a short haircut.
08:40Okay.
08:41Could you put an age on the guy at all?
08:43Well, he looked like he was probably, like, 30s.
08:46All right.
08:47Um, I have your number.
08:48There's no reason for you to hang around.
08:50If I have any additional questions, I'll call you.
08:52All right.
08:53Thank you, man.
08:55Thank you, man.
08:59The waitress observed somebody walking away from the truck.
09:01I might be at the suspect.
09:04I mean, hopefully we can get some good video
09:06from across the street.
09:08Yeah.
09:08Yeah.
09:09You want to walk over and look at that business
09:11and see if there's cameras in that parking lot?
09:13Yeah.
09:13Just so we know.
09:23Uh, we did a quick canvas.
09:25Uh, there's a business across the street
09:27that has three surveillance cameras
09:28that are facing Pave and Drive.
09:31And, uh, going down Marksville Highway,
09:33we have a bunch of residential houses on the street.
09:35So we'll come back out in the morning.
09:37We'll, uh, try to make contact with these people
09:39and try to get video footage of the suspect walking away.
09:42Hang on.
09:46Right now, he needs to get in contact with his wife.
09:49Who did he pick up?
09:50Where did he go?
09:52He didn't know where he was going that morning.
09:56Okay.
09:57I'm going to talk to her.
09:58Drive to the street.
09:59Six-minute drive.
10:06Ready?
10:19All right.
10:20Let's do this.
10:45We gave her the death notification.
10:48She didn't really have much information to provide us.
10:51Uh, the victim wasn't into drugs, wasn't into gambling,
10:55came home every night.
10:57And she said the victim had a backpack with his work stuff.
11:01The witness described the person that she observed walking away from the truck with a backpack.
11:08Also, uh, she did have a video from Monday morning from the next door neighbors.
11:14A suspicious person leaning up against a tree.
11:18And I was around 6.15.
11:22This is the trailer that she says has the video?
11:24Yeah.
11:25Yeah.
11:36The wife says she found it strange that he hadn't answered her all day, Monday.
11:40So she went to the neighbor's house.
11:43Detectives pull up the video from Guadalupe's next-door neighbor.
11:48That suspicious male was seen on camera standing right outside the house,
11:52like 15 minutes before the wife says her husband left for work.
11:58Her husband doesn't give anybody a ride,
12:01doesn't have any coworkers or anything he normally picks up,
12:03doesn't really bring anybody to the house.
12:05They had no idea who the guy was.
12:07Cameron doesn't catch that male getting in the car,
12:10doesn't catch the truck driving by,
12:11but it looks like he's wearing long-sleeve, black, like a hoodie.
12:16The jacket had to hurt him.
12:19He takes his jacket off, he's like, covers on him.
12:22Oh, that's him.
12:41The video quality is not the best,
12:42so you're not able to make a face out or anything like that.
12:51The victim's family doesn't know who this person is.
12:54We don't have him on camera walking into the trailer park,
12:57because he's waiting for him to come out,
13:00knowing that he leaves around 6, 6.30 to travel to his job.
13:05So it kind of shows me that these two know each other, you know?
13:09We have a good timeline.
13:11It's a very short window,
13:12so ultimately we need to get the surveillance footage
13:14from nearby businesses
13:16and the nearby trailers where the victim was living at
13:18to get a good idea on this guy
13:21and, you know, where he came from
13:23and where he went after the homicide.
13:33The team fans out.
13:36Hey, how are you?
13:38Canvassing the victim's neighborhood.
13:39Do you have access to your home surveillance cameras?
13:45And along the highway,
13:47where they believe the suspect fled after the murder.
13:51Seeing if we can reduce some video footage.
13:53Oh, thank you.
13:57Hey, how are you?
13:58Hey, how are you?
14:00Good.
14:01When investigating a shooting that happened
14:02just down the road after taking,
14:03do you know if any of your cameras
14:05picked up on this floor?
14:07Yeah, I should be able to run it back.
14:17Hi.
14:19Do you have cameras on the roadway?
14:21Check them real quick.
14:33We did collect video from businesses
14:35and the victim's trailer park
14:37from before and after the homicide.
14:40There was no video of the suspect
14:42walking up to Guadalupe's trailer
14:44from before the homicide,
14:45but we do have video footage of a vehicle.
14:49A green Honda CR-V
14:50entered the trailer park at 6.03.
14:54Right before the suspect is captured,
14:57leaning against a tree
14:58in front of Guadalupe's trailer.
15:01Shortly after,
15:02the CR-V is exiting the trailer park at 6.08.
15:05So I believe that the CR-V
15:08is how the suspect arrived that morning.
15:14So that's why we don't have him on camera
15:17walking into the trailer park.
15:19Somebody dropped him off.
15:21He was on foot.
15:23That's what I was thinking.
15:26In the video captured after the murder...
15:30Right here.
15:32The suspect can be seen
15:34walking away from the crime scene.
15:36You see him carrying the black book bag?
15:38That belongs to the victim.
15:42And let me just show you this
15:44video real quick.
15:52It's like so close to seeing his face.
15:56Hispanic male, early 40s?
15:58I think 30 to 40 is a good range.
16:01Do you see his head?
16:03Like it's shaved off?
16:04Do you see that?
16:05Or like balding or something?
16:06Yeah.
16:07Mm-hmm.
16:11There's a camera on the Chevron.
16:15Straight across.
16:20The suspect continues walking southbound
16:22on Lawrenceville Highway,
16:25but then turns off.
16:28Looks like we got one
16:29cutting through a neighborhood.
16:30Where is this?
16:31Amberwood.
16:32At 8 in the morning?
16:34Yeah.
16:36All black with a book bag.
16:37So he's cutting through,
16:39or he lives in there,
16:40or he's cutting through.
16:47All right, so...
16:49We have a direction to travel.
16:51Try to get additional video
16:5310 years down
16:54and figure out where he went
16:55and we'll go from there.
17:08We'll go from there.
17:09Over the next several days,
17:12the team continues to hunt for video.
17:16Hey, sir, do you have any cameras
17:17that face the roadway?
17:18In hopes of tracking the suspect.
17:25I got a camera right there.
17:27All right.
17:27Hey, how are you?
17:28We're trying to access cameras
17:30in this neighborhood.
17:31All right.
17:35Is that camera there?
17:36It's pointing this way.
17:36All right.
17:38All right.
17:44Do you have access
17:45to the ring cameras?
17:47Yeah.
17:50See, this is where it gets tricky.
17:52Nothing.
17:53Gracias.
17:58He doesn't walk this way,
17:59or doesn't walk past this location.
18:04So now we're trying
18:06to pick him back up,
18:07and there's these little side streets
18:09where he could have turned down,
18:10and that's where it gets
18:11a little bit tougher.
18:15Any luck down here?
18:16Nothing yet.
18:17No.
18:19They don't got nothing up here
18:20on the right side.
18:23Here goes my ass.
18:24Hey, how are you?
18:27Okay.
18:29Well, thank you for checking.
18:33He has disappeared.
18:35Where the doesn't go, man?
18:36That's the question.
18:39This is my 17th homicide.
18:43Last homicides have been all solved,
18:45so we're going to try
18:46to keep that trend,
18:47and this way we'll get solved.
18:49You're going to be 17 and 0,
18:50brother, I promise.
18:51We'll figure it out.
18:53We just got to find out
18:54where he got that.
19:01Nine days in.
19:03The last camera we lose him at
19:06is at Hillwood Drive.
19:08We checked these houses right here,
19:10and we don't have anybody captured
19:11walking past them,
19:13so we're just going to go
19:13knock on some residential houses,
19:15show him the picture of the suspect,
19:17see if he possibly lives in the area,
19:19if he had been walking
19:20in the neighborhood.
19:30Let's go in the door-to-door,
19:32see if you recognize this person,
19:34possibly a neighbor or...
19:37I don't.
19:41You guys recognize this person?
19:43Hispanic male, 5556,
19:46hand in the book bag?
19:47Yeah, I wouldn't say that.
19:49Okay.
19:51Then...
19:53Hey.
19:55Blackburn gets a call
19:56from Detective Tyler Daniel,
19:57who is canvassing
19:58several blocks away.
20:02Ariah.
20:04Hey, we might got something.
20:05Hop in.
20:07Yep.
20:08I can't see.
20:13All right, now.
20:14Let's do it.
20:18I showed him a picture
20:19in a media,
20:20and he goes,
20:20oh, I know that guy.
20:22He walks up and down
20:23the street all the time.
20:24Says he has seen him
20:25with longer hair,
20:26but recently he thinks
20:27he's gotten a haircut.
20:28The one up here.
20:30He's seen him too?
20:31Yeah.
20:32I had a guy
20:33who said the same thing.
20:34He'd seen that guy
20:35walk around
20:36in the back of the night before.
20:49It's looking good, mate.
20:51I mean, he's most likely
20:51living in this neighborhood.
20:52We've just got to figure out
20:53what house now,
20:54so we're just going
20:54to keep pushing.
20:55Unfortunately,
20:55this is a pretty big neighborhood,
20:56so let's keep knocking.
21:02We're just going
21:03door to door
21:04to see if anybody
21:05in the neighborhood
21:05recognizes this individual.
21:12Hey, man.
21:12Hey.
21:13How are you?
21:14Good.
21:14How are you?
21:14Good.
21:15Have you ever seen
21:15this gentleman?
21:16Never, never have.
21:19No one this way
21:21has seen him.
21:22Okay.
21:23I think he's close.
21:32After two weeks
21:33of canvassing...
21:35So, my instinct is
21:37that he lives
21:37somewhere in the neighborhood.
21:39He's got to figure out
21:40where, so...
21:41Do a media release
21:43and go from there.
21:45It's kind of like
21:45the last resort.
21:48Throwing spaghetti
21:49at a wall.
21:49Uh-huh.
21:50Hoping it sticks.
21:59We are about two miles
22:00from where
22:01that father's body
22:02was found,
22:02and now police
22:03need the public's help
22:04to find a killer.
22:05The pictured suspect
22:06is the suspect
22:07that's seen exiting
22:08the victim's vehicle.
22:10Anyone who might
22:11recognize the suspect
22:12is urged to call
22:13Gwinnett County Police
22:14where they can remain anonymous.
22:21One month
22:22into the investigation...
22:28I'm the lead investigator.
22:30Blackburn gets a call
22:31from an anonymous source
22:33who knew the victim.
22:35Any information
22:36regarding the investigation?
22:39Araya.
22:41This is Detective Araya.
22:44This is...
22:48the source says
22:5015 years ago,
22:51Guadalupe had bought
22:52some land
22:53from the father
22:54of his ex-girlfriend.
23:01Okay.
23:29The source says
23:30that the father
23:31and another man
23:33went to Guadalupe's home
23:34to pressure him
23:35to sell.
23:37Pero le dije yo,
23:38¿Quién es el otro señor?
23:40Dijo.
23:41Dijo, no, dice,
23:42es que no sé quién es,
23:44dice, no lo he visto, Âżno?
23:47Ah, okay.
23:48ÂżTĂş crees que es posible
23:49que todo esto está pasando
23:50por los terrenos?
23:51Pues, no sabrĂa decirle,
23:54pero casi...
23:56yo pienso que sĂ.
24:10ÂżTĂş sabes cĂłmo se llama
24:11el ex-suegro?
24:12No, no sé cómo se llama.
24:15Okay.
24:16¿Y quién es?
24:17ÂżCĂłmo se llama
24:18la ex-esposa, entonces?
24:23ÂżDĂłnde queda ella?
24:28The ex's address
24:30is on the same block
24:31where neighbors
24:32saw the suspect walking.
24:35ÂżVamos a ver igual
24:36sobre esto?
24:38SĂ.
24:38Okay.
24:39Bueno, muchas gracias
24:40por tu tiempo.
24:40SĂ, gracias a usted.
24:42We got a motive now.
24:46ÂżPossibly?
24:47We got a house.
24:50This can't be a coincidence.
24:53The plan is to do some recon
24:54at the ex's house
24:56to see who is coming
24:57and leaving
24:57and to obtain
24:59some license plate numbers
25:00of the vehicles
25:01at the residence.
25:11One hour later,
25:14we went to the ex's residence
25:16conducting surveillance.
25:19The house
25:20had a CRV
25:21parked in the driveway
25:21and we distinctly remember
25:24seeing a CRV
25:25in the video
25:25from the victim's
25:26trailer home
25:27coming in that morning.
25:29So this is what
25:30they took today
25:31and this is
25:32the surveillance footage
25:33from the day of the murder,
25:34the morning of the murder.
25:36We need to get
25:37the registered owner
25:38of this car.
25:38Right.
25:41Let's see.
25:47This is going to be
25:48the registered owner.
25:49The CRV is registered
25:51to the husband
25:51of Guadalupe's ex.
25:56We had this guy
25:57walking in the direction.
25:59We had ties
26:00from the victim
26:01over property spook.
26:03I mean, I feel like
26:03we have enough
26:04for a search warrant
26:04to hit the house.
26:11About to execute
26:12the search warrant.

30:21como un año,
30:21como dos años.
30:37el fin.
30:41Outside...
30:41Hey, man.
30:43My name's Corporal Blackburn.
30:44What is your name?
30:45One of the sons
30:46of Guadalupe
30:47and his ex
30:47returns home
30:48from school.
30:50We talked down here,
30:50bud?
30:51Yeah.
30:51Cool.
30:53It's very important
30:54that you're honest
30:56with me
30:56because, you know,
30:57I got to figure out
30:58who killed your father,
30:59okay?
31:01I didn't have
31:02a good relationship
31:02with my real dad.
31:03I didn't really talk
31:04to him for, like,
31:05three, four years.
31:08All right.
31:09Do you remember
31:10this person?
31:12I haven't seen him.
31:13I go to school
31:14once a time.
31:17You need to be
31:18100% honest to you,
31:19okay?
31:19I already know
31:20that he was staying here.
31:22That's why
31:22we are here,
31:23okay?
31:24There's no reason
31:25to cover up
31:26for this person.
31:27For this person
31:27that was staying
31:28with you,
31:28what does he go by?
31:31He went by Gavino.
31:37Is that his first name?
31:39That's where
31:40he goes by.
31:41And how long
31:41was Gavino
31:42living here?
31:43Like a year.
31:45A year?
31:45Yeah.
31:47His bedroom
31:48is, like,
31:49next to my brother's,
31:50above my brother's.
31:52So you think
31:53he's been living here
31:54for one year?
31:55Yeah.
31:58So why do you think
31:59Gavino killed
32:00your father for?
32:01I have no grief.
32:02I have no...
32:05I don't know why.
32:06I don't know
32:07if it was him,
32:08actually,
32:08or if it was him.
32:09No, it was him.
32:10That's why we're here.
32:12I have video of him
32:13leaving the murder scene
32:14and coming to this neighborhood
32:16and coming to this house.
32:18Okay?
32:19So we have to figure out,
32:21you know,
32:21who this Gavino is,
32:23because he's a bad person.
32:25Okay?
32:26He killed your father.
32:27So that's why
32:28I need you to be
32:29100% honest with me
32:30and help me figure out
32:31how I can find Gavino
32:33before he kills somebody else.
32:51When did Gavino
32:51finally leave his house?
32:53and didn't come back.
32:57It was around the same time
32:59police released
33:00the suspect's photo
33:01to the media.
33:03Do you know how
33:04he left this place?
33:05No?
33:07All right.
33:08Want to go back up here?
33:09Yeah.
33:20The team executes
33:21their search warrant
33:22for the house
33:23for the house.
33:23Down here?
33:25That's right.
33:25You're still there.
33:30There was a 9mm
33:31right around
33:31and maybe this way.
33:33Victim was shot
33:34with a 9mm.
33:36There's a folder
33:37of paperwork.
33:40I took pictures of it.
33:43Dude, the paperwork
33:44has his name.
33:54Oh, man.
33:56That is a freaking
33:57burden off my chest now.
34:00I got him identified.
34:02I got him identified.
34:03Finally, finally, finally, finally.
34:1338-year-old Mario
34:14Rene Lopez-JolĂłn
34:15is originally from Guatemala
34:17where he worked
34:18in agriculture.
34:20He came to the U.S.
34:21two years ago
34:22in search of job opportunities
34:23to pay off debt
34:24and send money back home
34:26to his wife
34:27and eight children.
34:32Let's just ask her real quick
34:33if this is Gallo.
34:34Yep.
34:35Is that Gavino?
34:37Is Gallo?
34:38Is Gallo?
34:40When did Gallo leave?
34:53Guadalupe's ex now admits
34:55that her husband
34:56took Gavino with him
34:57on his work trip
35:00to Huntsville, Alabama.
35:10And where's that location at?
35:26There's enough
35:26for warrants.
35:27Yeah.
35:29Let's head back to 35.
35:30We're going to make
35:31some phone calls
35:32and we get arrest warrants.
35:41So I obtained arrest warrants
35:43against the suspect
35:44for felony murder,
35:45malice murder.
35:47I made contact
35:48with a U.S. marshal
35:50in Alabama.
35:52They're going to set up
35:53on this house
35:53where we believe
35:55that the suspect
35:55is staying out right now
35:57for the night.
35:58Myself and Corporal Raya
35:59are about to head out
36:00and then link up
36:02with Huntsville PD
36:03once we get there.
36:14Purple Blackbird.
36:17We got it.
36:20Huntsville police
36:21find Mario Lopez-JolĂłn
36:23and take him into custody.
36:25All right.
36:25I appreciate the help, man.
36:27Yes, sir.
36:27All right.
36:28Bye.
36:28Bye.
36:32Bye.
36:33Bye.
36:44Bye.
36:44I'm helping kind of get
36:45a full rundown
36:48of, you know,
36:49why this all occurred.
36:57Hey, good to have you.
37:00Hello?
37:01Hello.
37:02Hello.
37:04My name is Coco Blackburn.
37:06We're in the County Police Department.
37:08Oh, OK.
37:13Come a long ways.
37:15You want to stand up and get the handcuffs off?
37:21What's your name?
37:22Mario René López.
37:24So, we work for the Gwinnett County Police Department.
37:27I was on July 1st.
37:30I was the lead detective for a homicide investigation.
37:34To Guadalupe Rodriguez, OK?
37:38Do you know what I'm saying?
37:55I'm sorry.
37:57I watched the news.
37:59He was my friend.
38:05We got together.
38:07We caught him.
38:09I don't know, because he was taking it.
38:12He gave me money.
38:14I gave him money to get out of the douche.
38:18Mario says on the morning of the murder, he went to Guadalupe's house to ask for his money back.
38:28And that he then walked to a nearby gas station to play their slot machines.
38:43So during the investigation I learned a lot, okay? And I kind of got an idea why this happened.
38:49We want to talk to you to discuss everything that happened and get your side of the story, okay?
38:57So we have some questions about the investigation.
39:03Do you want to talk to us about that?
39:09Well, I would like to put a lawyer, to get a lawyer.
39:16Okay.
39:18I don't know how to do it, but...
39:26He said, I think I want to get a lawyer because it's going to be...
39:29It's really difficult for me to understand.
39:32Okay. And that's your right, okay?
39:35Yes, that's your right.
39:36But I just want you to know that after, you know, during the investigation,
39:42there's video footage of you leaving the homicide scene, okay?
39:45So I'm just going to leave it as that, okay?
39:56So, you'll be exudited to the Gugnet County Jail.
40:00Lo cargo que tu tienes se llama murder.
40:21I mean, it would be nice to get the suspect's side of the story and, you know, figure out, you
40:25know, why.
40:27I mean, it was just something that he was given money to kill this guy over land, over Guadalupe's refusal
40:35for not telling him to land back to the ex's father in Mexico.
40:40But it feels good. This was one of my toughest cases that I've had.
40:43And I ultimately got the suspect arrested.
40:46This was my 17th homicide.
40:48So, still, 17-0.
40:53Two days later...
40:56Okay.
40:57Blackburn gets a hold of Guadalupe's ex-girlfriend's father.
41:04He says he doesn't know why, you know, Mario killed Lupe, but I learned that Guadalupe's land will go to
41:12Guadalupe's eldest son with the ex.
41:16So, that means the land will stay with the ex's family.
41:20So, I believe there's a possibility that the land dispute was the motive for the homicide.
41:25There's also, to me, you know, if Mario did get the green light to kill Lupe, why didn't Mario get
41:32a cut?
41:33And why is he still in the country, you know?
41:35When he was arrested, he only had two phones and $10 bombs.
41:38So, it's kind of still, you know, the what if, but something that we just won't know.
41:45Guadalupe's death was very tragic.
41:47From the victim's wife, Guadalupe was a hard-working man.
41:51He was a family man, loving husband, devoted father.
41:56So, this is very tragic.
41:58And basically, now, his children will no longer have a father to raise them, but hopefully for his family.
42:05It's a good sense of relief knowing that a suspect has been identified and captured,
42:09giving the family closure from this investigation.
42:12You know, I don't know, my family.
42:15We've seen this in a former person, the family reunion.
42:20But if you're friends with me, I don't know if you're aware of this.
42:22You can't remember, no.
42:23I don't know if you're hurt.
42:24I don't know if you're behind.
42:24The family reunion is still there.
42:25But what are you doing?
42:29You know, the family reunion and you're in a family reunion,
42:42Because you're the family reunion.
42:42You're in a family reunion,
