01:30Now we come to tactics.
01:32Tactics are specific, strategic improvements that enhance your basic abilities.
01:37Tactics can be loaded and unloaded depending on what situation you're going to be in during gameplay.
01:42To use our chariot example, if you knew you were going to be traveling over a frozen lake,
01:47you'd load spikes for your wheels to make sure you have traction.
01:50That's a tactic.
01:52All right, enough metaphor.
01:54Let's talk about tactics as they really appear in Warhammer Online, Age of Reckoning.
01:58There are three different categories of tactics.
02:01Career tactics, renowned tactics, and tome tactics.
02:04Each one of these serves a specific purpose.
02:07Career tactics are general ability upgrades that improve your performance in all aspects of the game.
02:12Renowned tactics specifically increase your effectiveness in realm vs. realm situations,
02:17while tome tactics specifically increase your effectiveness in player vs. environment situations.
02:23At any time, you can have four career tactics, two renowned tactics, and one tome tactic loaded and ready to
02:29use.
02:29Like the chariot, you'll need to load the tactics you think will be most helpful during whatever kind of gameplay
02:35you'll be engaged in next.
02:36You can load tactics in and out whenever you like, except in the middle of any kind of combat,
02:41so it behooves you to plan ahead when loading your tactics.
02:44To help out, however, you can have preset loadouts ready to use,
02:48so if you've got a set of tactics you know works well, you can load them all together at once.
02:53That leads us to morale abilities.
02:56If actions are the parts of the cart, and tactics are improvements you can make to the cart,
03:00morale abilities are a cannon you can strap onto the back of the cart
03:03in order to blow the stuffing out of whoever happens to be bothering you.
03:07Morale gives you powerful additional abilities, but there's a catch.
03:10Morale abilities only become available when you're in combat.
03:14As you fight, your morale builds.
03:16Build up enough, and you can start firing off your morale abilities.
03:20The longer you stay in combat, the more morale you actually build,
03:23and the larger and more impressive the morale abilities you'll be able to use.
03:27Morale abilities come in three categories.
03:30Career morale abilities, archetype morale abilities,
03:32and racial morale abilities.
03:34As you might expect, career morale abilities are specific to your career type.
03:39Archetype morale abilities are available to anyone in your archetype,
03:42and racial morale abilities can be used by anyone of your same race.
03:47Morale abilities are loaded much like tactics, but there's a twist.
03:50There are four morale slots, and each morale ability you can buy fits only one of those slots.
03:56Slot 1 abilities are less powerful, but can obviously be used more often.
04:01Slot 4 abilities are devastating, but are only available at longer intervals.
04:07So now that we've got you all excited about actions, tactics, and morale,
04:11you might be asking when and how your character will receive these wonderful goodies.
04:16For actions, each career receives new abilities on the exact same schedule,
04:20based on your in-game experience.
04:22But different careers receive their actions on different schedules,
04:25so a dwarf ironbreaker and a chaos marauder who are advancing at the same pace
04:29will not necessarily receive new action abilities at exactly the same time.
04:33In due time, you will receive every action ability available to your career.
04:38Tactics and morale abilities, however, work a bit differently.
04:41As you gain experience and advance your character,
04:44you will also be earning tactic points and morale points.
04:47With few exceptions, if you have the points to spend,
04:50you can buy whichever tactics or morale abilities you wish,
04:53and you'll be able to see all of the tactics and morale abilities available to you
04:57over your entire career.
04:58Here's the rub, however.
05:00There are many more tactics and morale abilities available to you
05:03than you will ever have points to purchase.
05:05Luckily for you, the game will help you out
05:07by organizing your choices into general categories,
05:10such as offensive, defensive, support, and so on.
05:13It's then up to you to decide what kinds of tactics and morale abilities
05:16you want your character to have.
