00:31The first thing you need in PvP is a squad of heroes that's up to the task.
00:35Since the tactics required to defeat other players are very different,
00:40you can use all of the heroes in loot you've earned in PvE
00:43and use them to construct a completely unique squad for the arena.
00:47So for my squad, I've chosen Blitz, a Plasma Ravager,
00:51Goliath, a Cyber Sentinel, and Vex, a Quantum Ravager.
00:57The biggest competitive mode in Dark Spore is the arena.
01:01Now in the arena, you and a partner can bring your squads
01:04and go head-to-head with another pair of players in the game.
01:08Okay, so we're going to show you guys a quick round that we played here recently.
01:12I'm here as Blitz, my teammate is Jason playing as Zrin.
01:15We're beaming down into the Nocturna Arena,
01:18and we're looking for Paul and Dan who we've been matched against for this round.
01:23So here we go.
01:24We open up with a Weakness Curse and a Meteor Stun combo.
01:27Paul has to switch to clear the V-Boss.
01:30Dan's already looking pretty low, so he could be in trouble.
01:32He gets surrounded and actually can't get the switch off before he dies,
01:35so he loses torque right off the bat.
01:37Paul has to pull back, and I manage to go get another surround on Dan.
01:41Dan resists a stun because of diminishing returns
01:44and uses a Great Vines to try to slow us down pursuing him.
01:48Paul comes in from the bottom, tries to pull Jason out of combat,
01:51but he can't and immediately gets banished.
01:54Dan's in a lot of trouble again trying to heal himself while he's taking a ton of damage,
01:58and Sage does go down.
02:01So Dan is down two creatures, and Paul is doing a good job of keeping us occupied while Dan comes
02:07back.
02:08Dan has a really good storm, kind of forces us out of the area,
02:11but is still very low on his last creature, very vulnerable right now.
02:15I blink in, get another few shots on him, and use the Zetawak beam to take down women.
02:20Now I'm being life trained by Paul right now, have to get in there and stun him to break that
02:24channel.
02:25Paul's in a really rough spot right now, 2v1 is definitely not a situation you want to be in in
02:30the arena.
02:31Really what happened here was a lot of divide and conquer,
02:34kind of keeping Paul out of the fight and getting some early kills on Dan really helped us take this
02:40match.
02:43So we just saw one round, but every arena game is a best of three matchup.
02:48In between rounds you can check out your stats like kills, deaths, damage and healing done.
02:53But more importantly, the losing team has the option to swap their squad,
02:57so they can come back in the next round with a totally different strategy to try to win.
03:01There are several arenas on various alien worlds.
03:05Each comes with their own unique obstacles and hazards,
03:09so having the right game plan can mean the difference between winning and losing.
03:12So that's a quick look at PvP and Darkspore.
