00:15In Bioshock, Tenenbaum, the character Tenenbaum, was sort of exploring the work that was going
00:22on in DNA at the time, you know, the work that Crick and Watson were doing, and she was building
00:28upon that, and that, you know, a very radical enhancement of that work that was done by
00:34Tenenbaum and Tsu Chong, and you get the world of plasmids that make the original Bioshock.
00:41Elizabeth's not a scientist, but she has the ability to interact with the kind of science
00:47that was being done in this period, the kind of science that was being done by Einstein,
00:51the kind of science that was being done by Heisenberg, all this sort of world of physics
00:58that's being explored, you know, around the turn of the century, and how science, in the
01:04same way Crick and Watson were opening our eyes up to what was inside our body, these scientists,
01:09Einstein and Heisenberg and Max Planck, were opening our eyes to what existed around the
01:15universe. And everybody can see in the world of Columbia, these tears that are windows into
01:23these worlds that Heisenberg and Einstein were starting to explain to us. Elizabeth can actually
01:29reach into those worlds and manipulate them. And that's what her power, that's what you're
01:34seeing her do in the world. And that becomes this great game system we call the tears in Bioshock
01:40Infinite, where you'll be in a space and you'll see a window where you see a skyline that doesn't
01:50exist in the Columbia that Booker is in. You'll see a turret maybe that doesn't exist in the
01:57Columbia that Booker exists in. You'll see a bunch of founders who might come in and help
02:03you fight the Vox Popula guys you're fighting, who doesn't exist in the version of Columbia that
02:09Booker is in. And Elizabeth is essentially saying to you is, I can bring one of these three
02:15in for you, Booker. Which one do you want me to bring in? And that's up to the player.
02:19I think I can help. Tell me which one you want.
02:24That one. Now.
02:26We have all these tools that the player has that the player can access via Elizabeth that
02:30is going to make everybody's play experience different. And that's what we always want with
02:34Bioshock. We want the way I play it, the way you play it, the way he plays it to be
02:37different.
02:38And that's Elizabeth's ability to manipulate terrorists is just another great way to do
02:42that.
