00:25Let's take on some basic real monsters.
00:27Battles are initiated by targeting with L or R when using the Classic Controller,
00:31and confirming with A on the Battle Palette.
00:35Normal attacks execute automatically.
00:37To use Arts or Special Skills, use the Control Pad to select the move you want on the Battle Palette
00:43and confirm with A.
00:44These take time to refill so you can't do them repeatedly, though they can be leveled up.
00:50You don't have any direct control over your party members' actions.

01:25Some items fulfill quests, some are collectibles, and you'll also receive Aether Crystals that can be refined,

02:54Now we've fulfilled our task, but while we're up here, the Mechon have invaded the colony, and commenced their attack.
03:00This is a truly major turning point in the game, and initiates the primary story arc you'll experience.
03:07As I said, I don't want to spoil anything, and the situation continues for quite a while, so I'm not
03:12showing all of it.
03:18Now, after all that, we need to get back down to the colony quickly.
03:22I don't want to waste any time by going back down through the cave, so I'll jump off of the
03:26cliff into the lake below.
03:34And gain an achievement and some experience points while doing it.
04:03While fighting Mechon with my standard sword, there is really only one way to defeat them.
04:07using the arch strategically.
04:10Watch the status above the enemy icon.
04:15I inflict Break, indicated by two wavy lines, by using one of my arch, and then my companion is able
04:22to topple them.
04:25Now, finally, we can inflict some proper damage.
04:40After taking on some Mechon alone, Pura has gone on a story-related errand.
04:45Dumbun, the great hero of the prologue, comes in and takes a night very easily using the special sword, the
04:51Monado.
04:53The only weapon that can defeat Mechon, though it's extremely powerful and very demanding control.
05:05I want to move through the colony quite quickly.
05:07Even though I now have the Monado in my team, my own character's weapon is still very weak against Mechon.
05:13And my level is already relatively good at this point, so I don't particularly need to level up.
