Porthmadog manager Chris Jones reacts to 4-1 win against Llay Welfare
Transcript
00:00That was a thorough first half performance, Chris, against Lai and a three goal lead.
00:04Jura, thoughts on the first half and pressing up the second half, which wasn't as good?
00:09I thought the first half an hour was the best we played this season,
00:13alongside probably Clangethnir home where we had a performance similar.
00:17The way they moved the ball, the way they attacked and when we lost the ball, the way we won
00:21it back,
00:21it was superb in all areas. Three really good goals, constant chances, we could have had a few more,
00:27so yeah, really good performance, first half an hour. Obviously, when they got their goal,
00:31it takes the sting out a little bit, so it was about managing the game second half,
00:33but got a nice goal to finish it off near the end as well.
00:36It was a nice finish, but we need to make sure that the game's finished by half time
00:41if we make sure of the points. That was difficult today, that we were nervous in the second half,
00:47the supporters were nervous. Yeah, I mean, when you start games the way we started today's game,
00:52obviously you can blow teams away and that's what happened and when it was 3-0,
00:55it could have literally been five or six the chances that we had as well.
00:59So it's about managing the game when, you know, in the second half,
01:02the lads have put that much effort in in the first half,
01:04so obviously you're making substitutions and that, so we can take the sting out a little bit,
01:07but I've got to say the way they defended again today, going back to Preston when we
01:112-0-0 away in a tough game and then a clean sheet last week and the way they defended
01:15today,
01:15the two griffs and Ryan, the way they organised it, cookie and gold, you know,
01:18there's loads of positives there as well. We've got a Friday game under the lights,
01:23which is a different proposition. What do you expect from Llangemni next Friday?
01:27Oh yeah, obviously a good team. It was a really difficult game there last season,
01:30in front of a big crowd, so we expect the same again. It's just a lot of momentum for us
01:35now,
01:35obviously just keep ticking the games off as we approach the running and see where we end up.
01:40Do you agree with Chris?
