00:00My name is Autumn, and I've had a few paranormal experiences in my life.
00:04This one happened several years ago when I was living in Longview.
00:07At the time, I often went to my boyfriend's grandparents' house with him.
00:11It was close to where I lived, and I really liked them.
00:14One day, he and I went there with two other friends.
00:17After we arrived, we all gathered around and downloaded a Ouija board app on my phone.
00:22We were really into paranormal stuff, and honestly, we weren't scared at all.
00:26We tried it a few times, and came into contact with several spirits.
00:30Two of them were far more specific than the others.
00:33The first spirit we encountered said her name was Peggy.
00:36We asked her simple questions, things like, how did you die, and are you trapped here?
00:41She claimed she had drowned in a swamp.
00:44Coincidentally, there was a filthy, trash-filled swamp directly behind my boyfriend's grandparents' house.
00:49One of our friends got scared and begged us to stop, saying she didn't want to hear anymore.
00:54We said goodbye to the spirit, and tried the app a few more times, but this time, a spirit appeared
01:00that refused to give us its name.
01:01The friend who had been scared of Peggy started saying she had a really bad feeling about it.
01:06We all laughed it off, and just to mess with her, we asked the spirit, do you like us?
01:11The planchette moved to no, and at that exact moment, my phone screen began to flicker very faintly.
01:18We were all terrified, and immediately closed the app.
01:22Later that night, everyone went home.
01:24I begged my grandmother, who I was living with at the time, to let me stay the night at my
01:28boyfriend's grandparents' house.
01:30Our families were closed, so it wasn't unusual, and she agreed.
01:34My boyfriend and I decided to make the night a little more special.
01:37So we grabbed some drinks, we watched YouTube, took small sips, and talked.
01:42At one point, he got up to use the bathroom.
01:44When this happened, I was sitting on the top bunk, curled with my back against the wall.
01:49I could hear him coughing in the bathroom right next to his mirror, so I assumed he'd be back at
01:54any moment and relaxed a bit.
01:56I swear my eyes were closed, yet I could still see the mirror across the room, the dresser, the TV,
02:02and the game console.
02:04Then someone started talking to me.
02:06A cold but gentle hand brushed a strand of hair away from my face, and a voice softly asked,
02:12Are you okay, baby?
02:14Without thinking, I answered, yeah, why?
02:17The hand stayed on my cheek, or at least a cold sensation did.
02:21Then the voice asked,
02:22Will you carry my baby?
02:24I got scared, but I assumed my boyfriend was just drunk and messing with me.
02:28I replied, maybe when we're older, but not now, baby.
02:32The voice became more insistent.
02:34It started to distort, twisting into something deeper and unfamiliar, repeating over and over,
02:40Will you carry my baby?
02:42I kept saying, no, no, this isn't funny anymore, please stop.
02:46Then I heard my boyfriend's voice say, who are you talking to?
02:49Everything went completely black.
02:51I snapped my eyes open and saw my boyfriend looking at me, his face full of concern.
02:55I was talking to you, I said, assuming he was joking.
02:58I just walked back from the bathroom, he said, even more worried.
03:02I heard you talking to someone.
03:04Without hesitation, I jumped off the bunk bed and screamed at him to stop messing with me, that he was
03:09scaring me.
03:10He grabbed my hand and we ran out of the room into the living room.
03:13I couldn't understand what had just happened.
03:16I collapsed onto the couch and explained everything, crying because I genuinely felt like my life was in danger.
03:21He started tearing up too.
03:23As I told him what I had experienced, I realized something.
03:26He wasn't lying.
03:28Whoever touched me and spoke to me, it wasn't him.
03:31Neither of us slept that night.
03:33We sat in the living room until around 6 or 7 in the morning, then went into the bedroom, grabbed
03:38our things, and left for my house.
03:40As soon as I got home, I went straight to my room, curled up, and tried to sleep.
03:44Later, when I started looking things up, I came across old myths and legends about demons that drain life from
03:50women while they sleep.
03:52I hope I never experience anything like that again.
03:55It's too difficult to explain to others and even to myself.
03:59That night, I felt like I was losing my mind.
04:01I wanted to share this story because I used to believe that demons like that only existed in books.
04:07I never thought they could be real.
04:11I want to share a story my grandmother used to tell me when I was a kid.
04:15She told me a lot of stories growing up, but this one always stuck with me.
04:19It was strange, sad, and deeply unsettling in a way I never forgot.
04:24When my grandmother was about 10 years old, around 10 years before the partition of India and Pakistan,
04:30she was living in Goa, India.
04:32Her family was deeply Catholic, and the church was a big part of their daily lives.
04:37Every Sunday, after Sunday school ended, my grandmother and her friends would play in the church garden
04:43while they waited for their parents to come pick them up.
04:46My grandmother's name was Alice, and she had three close friends, Ella, Jacqueline, and Marilyn.
04:53Ella was different from the others.
04:54She was an orphan, and there was always something distant about her, like she was half lost in thought.
05:00While the other kids laughed and ran around, Ella would sometimes say she could see people that no one else
05:05could see.
05:06Some of the kids found that uncomfortable, but my grandmother was always kind to her.
05:12One Sunday, while they were playing in the garden, Ella suddenly stopped.
05:16She said she could hear someone calling her name.
05:19None of the other girls heard anything.
05:21Curious, Ella slowly walked toward a large palm tree near the edge of the garden.
05:26Sitting on the ground beneath it was a woman.
05:30According to Ella, the woman was breathtakingly beautiful.
05:33She wore a soft, white dress that looked like silk, glowed almost like an angel, and smelled faintly of jasmine.
05:41Ella talked with the woman for a while.
05:43When Sunday school ended, one of the nuns from the orphanage came to call Ella back.
05:48Before leaving, Ella pulled my grandmother aside and told her about the woman.
05:53Alice, I met a woman today.
05:55She's so beautiful, and she smells like jasmine.
06:00She looks like a bride.
06:02And she lives near that tree.
06:04We're going to meet here every Sunday, so I won't be playing with you guys anymore.
06:09Then Ella made my grandmother promise not to tell anyone, and because she was a good friend, my grandmother kept
06:16that promise.
06:17As time passed, Ella changed.
06:20She became happier, more outgoing.
06:22She got deeply involved in church activities, and there was something about her, almost like she had a glow.
06:29Jacqueline and Marilyn, who had always been the most popular and active girls at church, grew jealous of her.
06:35They even told my grandmother she should stop being friends with Ella.
06:38Instead, my grandmother chose to distance herself from them.
06:42When my grandmother eventually told Ella about this, Ella didn't seem surprised at all.
06:47She already told me this would happen.
06:50Ella said.
06:51That's when my grandmother finally asked her what she and the woman had been talking about every Sunday all that
06:56time.
06:57Even now, her answer still gives me chills.
07:01Ella said.
07:02Alice, remember how I told you I can see people, others can't?
07:07She's one of them.
07:08She told me I was given a gift by God, and that my parents are watching over me.
07:14From his side.
07:16But she also told me something sad.
07:19That I won't live very long.
07:21That's why I have to enjoy life, and why we shouldn't stay too far apart.
07:26She told me to forgive Jacqueline and Marilyn.
07:30She said resentment only poisons our hearts.
07:34And whenever she hugs me, it feels warm.
07:37Like being held by my mother.
07:39For years, my grandmother listened to Ella talk about the woman and the lessons that she learned from her.
07:45She didn't fully believe any of it, not until the war began.
07:49Ella passed away.
07:51Soon after, my grandmother's family fled and eventually moved to Pakistan.
07:56Even decades later, my grandmother never forgot Ella.
08:00She never knew whether Ella's experiences were real or just the imagination of a lonely child.
08:06But one thing was certain.
08:08That mysterious woman changed Ella's life.
08:11And even now, I sometimes think about this story and wonder, did Ella really see an angel?
08:22This happened when my mom was seven years old.
08:24Back then, my mom and my grandmother often went into the forest to pick mushrooms and wild berries.
08:30They did it almost every week.
08:32And even now, they still go sometimes.
08:34One day, after collecting a lot, they were on their way back home.
08:38That's when my grandmother accidentally bumped into a man on the trail.
08:42They both apologized and went their separate ways.
08:45My mom noticed that the man had a strange, unpleasant smell.
08:49But she didn't think much of it.
08:51A little while later, the same man appeared again.
08:54And this time, he was following them.
08:57He asked,
08:57Are you here to pick mushrooms?
09:00They both said yes.
09:03My grandmother replied,
09:04Yes, but we're heading home now.
09:07Then the man said,
09:09Follow me.
09:10I know a place where there are a lot of mushrooms.
09:15At that moment, my grandmother felt a chill run down her spine.
09:19She told him they needed to go home quickly.
09:22My mom was tired too and just wanted to leave.
09:25But the man wouldn't stop.
09:26He kept insisting that they follow him.
09:29Again and again.
09:31Finally, they started running.
09:33And he ran after them.
09:34When they were almost out of the forest, the man suddenly stopped.
09:38He just stood there, staring at them.
09:40With a strange, unreadable expression.
09:43They ran all the way home.
09:45About three days later,
09:47my mom and grandmother went back to the forest to pick more mushrooms.
09:51This time, they took a different path.
09:53As soon as they entered, they saw several police cars.
09:56It looked like a crime scene.
09:58Later, they found out that it really was one.
10:01A police officer approached them and asked if they had seen anything suspicious.
10:05My grandmother told him about the man who had followed them.
10:09The officer then showed her a photo and asked,
10:11Is this the man?
10:13He's our main suspect.
10:15My grandmother froze.
10:17It was him.
10:17The same creepy man who had chased them.
10:20She was absolutely sure.
10:22She asked the officer,
10:24What happened?
10:25What did he do?
10:26The officer told her that a young woman had been brutally murdered in the forest.
10:31My grandmother was terrified.
10:33My mom started crying uncontrollably.
10:35A few weeks later, a letter arrived at their house.
10:39Because they were witnesses, my grandmother was summoned to court.
10:42She testified about what she had seen.
10:45In the end, the man was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
10:49About a week later, news came out that he had confessed.
10:53He admitted that he had killed two other women.
10:57The girl in the forest wasn't his only victim.
10:59After that, my mom and grandmother felt relieved.
11:02They slowly began going back to the forest again.
11:05But four years later, something else happened.
11:08It was a prison break in the area.
11:11Rumors spread that about seven inmates had escaped, including him.
11:15After hearing that, they were too scared to ever return.
11:18They never went back to that forest again.
11:21Sometimes they still think about what could have happened to them.
11:24What if they had followed him to get more mushrooms?
11:27What if they had followed him to get more mushrooms?
