00:24This section of the city is owned and operated by the Luchadors
00:28A gang of Mexican wrestlers that specializes in drugs and gambling
00:31But we'll get to that in a bit
00:33Right now let's say hello to some of the citizens of Steelport
00:49As you can see Steelport is a very friendly place
00:53Our goal was to create a sandbox where nothing is scripted
00:56Everything is dynamic and players have the freedom and choice to do what they want

01:27Now when we say over-the-top weapons in action, we mean it

01:51And instead of grinding from the bottom, we want you to start out at the top
01:54With all the perks that go with being the leader of an elite criminal organization
01:58We want you to feel like the ultimate badass and play like it too
02:03For example, we could try to take out this gang with an assault rifle triggering a massive firefight
02:07Or instead, we could call in an airstrike
02:17That right there is the power of the 3rd Street Saints
02:20Now we're going to jump into one of our activities
02:22Tank mayhem
02:25The object of mayhem is to cause as much monetary destruction as possible in a set time limit
02:30We thought that was fun
02:31And then we decided to go ahead and add a tank
02:43Tank mayhem is just one of what we call activities
02:46Often hilarious side missions that will help you earn money and respect
02:49In a variety of over the top and ridiculous ways
02:54You can always blow up a car
02:55Or if you want to, you can completely flatten it as well

03:28Successfully completed this activity, the city is pretty much ruined at this point, and
03:32we've got a whole bunch of cash to go along with it.
03:35Something we preach in the design process over and over again is player choice.
03:39How do you want to look?
03:40How do you want to play?
03:41These are important questions we want you to answer.
03:44For example, do you want to wear a furry costume or a space suit?
03:47Everything's up to you.
03:49This is Let's Pretend.
03:50It's one of our many clothing stores in Steelport where you can purchase anything from cowgirl
03:55suits to pirate costumes to gimp suits.
03:58Of course, if you are so inclined, you can always play naked, and we do feature a sex appeal slider.
04:08Now that we're all suited up, it's time to take a drive.
04:12Saints Row style.
04:13You could just open the door to this sports car, or why not dive through the window?
04:18It's up to you.
04:20Driving is a key mechanic.
04:21We've completely overhauled the physics, and as you can see, driving is fast, fluid,
04:26and fun.
04:26You can stop on a dime, power slide around corners, or even flip the car 180 degrees and
04:31continue driving in reverse, which is pretty good in a firefight.
04:41Remember, the Saints are celebrities.
04:43If you start peeling out and spinning donuts, the citizens of Steelport are going to stop
04:47and cheer for you.
04:55And if driving isn't your thing, we have other modes of transportation.
05:01This is the VTOL, the vertical takeoff and landing jet.
05:10And it wouldn't be Saints Row if it didn't have plenty of ultra-cool weapons, so we've added
05:14microwave lasers, and homing missiles as well.
05:22And at the touch of a button, you can toggle between hover mode and jet mode.
05:31Nothing quite like an astronaut, or a furry mascot, or a pirate, or a naked fat dude piloting
05:36in a fighter jet, but that's all part of the fun of Saints Row.
06:05Before we finish this demo, we've got a couple of surprises for you.
06:10Because the Saints are a household brand name, it's not uncommon to see things like various
06:15vehicles around the city, like, for instance, the Johnny Gatmobile.
06:19And of course, that cigarette in his mouth is actually a flamethrower.
06:23This vehicle usually has the right of way.
06:27This little beauty is Professor Genki's super-ballistic manapult, capable of vacuuming up pesky pedestrians
06:33and firing them as human cannonballs across the city.
06:50And of course, if you or your co-op partner want to give it a try, you can do that
06:54as well.
07:08That wraps up our demo of Saints Row III, we've got a lot more in store as we get closer
07:12to our release date of November 15th.
