00:14Welcome to the full release of Spectator Mode,
00:16giving you complete control over the action in League of Legends.
00:20There are a lot of new powerful tools here
00:22that make watching League of Legends even better than before.
00:25Let's go over the various features of Spectator Mode,
00:28and I'll share a few tips on how to get the most out of it.
00:31There are three ways to view a game.
00:33The Custom Game Lobby,
00:35Spectate Your Friends,
00:37and Featured Games.
00:40First, you can join a custom game and become a Spectator.
00:43Hit the Join Game button at the bottom,
00:46select the game you want to watch,
00:47and click Spectate.
00:49You'll watch the players progress through Champion Select,
00:52and after a short delay, the game itself.
00:54For those who want to play practice matches in privacy,
00:57the host of a custom game can choose to disallow Spectators.
01:01Second, you can watch your friends play normal, ranked, or custom games.
01:05If any of your friends are in a game,
01:07you can right-click on them in the buddy list, and click Spectate Game.
01:11You'll load into their game and watch everything as it unfolds.
01:16Third, you can Spectate Featured Games.
01:18When you load into the client,
01:20you'll have a list of live, featured games that you can view.
01:22These games contain some of the best players in League of Legends,
01:26so anytime you'd like to see some high-skill play,
01:28come check out the featured games.
01:31All versions of Spectator Mode operate on a 3-minute delay,
01:35to ensure that your opponents cannot team up with another player outside the game
01:38to give away your position and cheat.
01:42Now that you're watching a game, let's look at some of Spectator Mode's features.
01:45First is Directed Camera.
01:48When Directed Camera is enabled,
01:49it actively captures the most interesting action in the match.
01:53Whether someone's getting first blood,
01:54the Ancient Golem is being stolen,
01:56or two fights are going on at the same time,
01:58Directed Camera intelligently moves around the map,
02:01showcasing every fight without missing a beat.
02:04Directed Camera is on by default,
02:06but you can turn it off by pressing S,
02:08and re-enable it with D.
02:09You can also guide the Directed Camera.
02:11Clicking on a Champion will encourage Directed Camera to include that Champion as it moves around.
02:17Pressing Spacebar will tell Directed Camera to immediately switch from its current scene
02:21to a different contested area on the map.
02:25Near the bottom of the screen, you'll see the Time Shift controls.
02:29Time Shift gives you the ability to speed up, slow down, pause,
02:32or jump to different parts of a live game.
02:36If you want to go back and re-watch a teamfight,
02:38either click the convenient Jump Back button,
02:41or click on the timeline and watch it again.
02:43You could also slow it down as much as one-quarter speed,
02:46because kill-steals always look better in slow-mo.
02:51Once you're done with that,
02:52you can fast-forward up to eight times speed,
02:54or skip forward,
02:55either to where you left off,
02:56or all the way forward to the most recent action.
03:01Additionally, Spectator Mode has a variety of other information and vision features
03:05for when you want to control the camera.
03:07Every champion is selectable by pressing and holding
03:101 through 5 for the champions on blue team,
03:12or the letters immediately below them for the purple team.
03:15Double-clicking any of these buttons,
03:17the champion portraits,
03:18or the champions themselves in-game
03:21will follow that champion until you press Escape
03:23or click another champion.
03:26The menus at the bottom left
03:27allow you to select and follow specific champions,
03:30and enable or disable directed camera,
03:32the chat box,
03:33and other interface elements.
03:35In teamfights, you might want to hide a lot of the heads-up display.
03:38Pressing Tab or O will toggle the bottom scoreboard,
03:42while pressing H will toggle everything.
03:45Anytime you're spectating a game,
03:46you can leave whenever you want with no penalty.
03:50Thanks to directed camera,
03:52I might actually catch first blood for once.
03:54And no matter how much time I waste watching champions last hit under their turrets,
03:57I can always jump back and watch that gank I missed.
04:00To me, spectator mode is hugely awesome,
04:03and I'm hoping you'll enjoy this release as much as I do.
