00:32Of course, at E3 itself, visitors to the Bohemia Battle Bunker booth
00:36are encouraged to get hands-on with it all
00:37and take a look at these things in as much splendid detail as they like
00:40and at their own leisure.
00:43Alright, let's kick things off, starting with a wee jaunt around Maxwell.
00:48The 3D markers you see are prompts for where to find content.
00:52You might have already spotted the vehicle demonstration there
00:54and in the background, the silhouette of a helicopter foreshadows an airborne showcase.
00:58More on those later.
01:03Trotting across in the light of a romantic sunset,
01:05you can get a peek at the weapon pool,
01:07something that those familiar with the Armex game mode may recognize.
01:12Now, looking down into the valley,
01:14we can spot our firing drill activity,
01:16which puts players through a time series of pop-up targets.
01:18A little further away is the shooting range,
01:20which gives a good impression of, among other things,
01:23our new aiming mechanics and more powerful rifles like the GM-6 Lynx.
01:31All right, let's get serious now and crack on with the vehicle showcase.
01:35The cabin of the vehicle offers a few nice features.
01:38Things like the hands on the wheel might seem trivial,
01:42but their long-awaited inclusion really helps to connect the player to the feeling of driving.
01:46Alongside the new PhysX-supported handling, it's a real upgrade.
01:49The same, too, goes for mirrors and onboard displays,
01:52which, while subtle, are all part of the overall impression.
01:56So, up ahead lies a bunch of enemies,
01:58and I've got a grenade launcher on the roof of this vehicle.
02:01But, unfortunately, we'll have to save that for the presentation proper,
02:04as we skip through to our next section.
02:07Diving.
02:07Aside from the controversy caused by our underwater combat,
02:10it's one of almost striking new features.
02:14Finding ourselves under the surface again,
02:17this time we'll take a peek at the SDV.
02:20A team member described the controls as
02:22something like a cross between a helicopter and a regular boat.
02:26Now, since that doesn't really make any sense,
02:28it'll suffice to say that we've got regular control
02:31over moving forwards and back,
02:32a rudder to turn,
02:33and the direct control over our buoyancy.
02:38Moving on now to a real man's machine,
02:40a helicopter,
02:41we'll take a look at the terrain from above
02:43and finally get to the business of engaging an enemy.
02:48Skipping between the trees,
02:49we'll target a lightly armored vehicle
02:51and take a look at radar installation Mike-26 from above.
03:06Moving on to supports now,
03:08we'll show an artillery strike in action.
03:10I've called in a strike on this anti-aircraft vehicle
03:12in the center of the scene.
03:17We're using some relatively lightweight shells here,
03:20but if we manage to get it finished,
03:22at E3 you might sneak a quick look
03:24at the new cluster bomb strike option,
03:26which I must admit is particularly satisfying.
03:34The night showcase helps us demonstrate
03:36some of the features we looked at
03:37in our recent lighting showcase trailer.
03:40One feature we didn't manage to show
03:41was the weapon mounted lights.
03:43Switching it on,
03:44you can see the beam cast on the ground,
03:45which nicely highlights the new detailed surfaces.
03:51Switching to third person,
03:53we'll take a brief look at night vision
03:54and demonstrate the ongoing work
03:57we're currently implementing with muzzle flashes.
04:10Okay, last up is our infantry showcase.
04:12Obviously there's a lot to show here,
04:14but I'd like to take a quick glimpse
04:15of some of the new animations.
04:17There's the previously mentioned tactical face,
04:19which is a little slower than running,
04:21a little faster than walking,
04:22and fatigues the player more
04:24by way of our new fatigue and encumbrance system.
04:27There's also a few new crouch and lane options.
04:30Taking cover behind his wall,
04:32and disposing of our enemy,
04:34I'll demonstrate popping up down,
04:38and I'm naturally popping up
04:39a little higher than the default stance too.
04:48Well, that just about wraps up our E3 preview.
04:55I hope that raises a lot of new questions,
04:57which of course Ivan, myself,
04:58and Daisy creator Dean Hall
05:00will be more than happy to address at E3.
05:02So, if you want them answered,
05:04be sure to encourage your favourite gaming journalist
05:06to check out the Bohemia Interactive booth,
05:08where the team will also be showcasing
05:09Carrier Command,
05:10and a few other surprises to boot,
05:12I'm sure.
05:12Bye for now!
