00:46I've always wanted to be a contender in racing, you know, fulfillment of a dream.
00:53Today we seem to be picking our corners a little bit more closely now, trying to find that extra 10.
01:00Get as many runs as we can. Get as fast as we can. Make the top four.
01:08We're seeing the really fast guys starting to come to the top, you know, and after getting in the line
01:13so many times, you start seeing who's here for real.
01:18I have to be honest, unfortunately, before this I hadn't been driving for a couple months, which was really strange,
01:23so I had to really work hard to get up to speed.
01:29The contest weight is now you get two laps, and then you get back in line, so it's hard to
01:33get complete focus in that two laps.
01:37I focus on beating myself. I try to ignore everyone else and just focus on running a perfect lap, and
01:42a perfect lap for me is hopefully good enough to beat everybody else.
01:49My strategy is just to try to stay as physically and mentally sharp as possible. There's a lot of stuff
01:55going on. It's easy to get frazzled.
01:57I have a zone that I know that I get in, where I can just lay down lap after lap,
02:01and I'm trying to keep that mental zone going.
02:09I've learned in life that sometimes you don't need to be the best. You just got to be first. A
02:14lot of times in racing, it's luck. Crazy things happen, you know, and anybody can be Racer X.

02:54What's happening, gamers? How's everybody doing out there? I need a little bit more feedback than that. What's going on?
03:02All right, welcome to E3. I hope everybody's excited to be here. As you guys know, for the last couple
03:07of days, gamers have had the opportunity to hang out outside and compete against each other for Nissan's GT Academy.
03:13Everybody competed on the Silverstone Racetrack for the Racer X 2013 competition. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for
03:22those that are here and for those that are home, so welcome.
03:25Let's welcome the competitors.

04:08Now, as the competitors come down the stairs, give them all a round of applause.
04:15One of these competitors today has an opportunity to be Racer X Champion 2013
04:21and compete in Nissan's GT Academy, of which I, yours truly, Donnie Jones, am the host of.

04:37All right, so today, all four of you will be headed ahead in the competition, basically a shootout.

05:12The winner of that, the two winners, then we will crown one Racer X Champion.
05:16That individual will then, therefore, have a chance to compete in the final competition to go to Silverstone Racetrack in

05:25and have a chance to become a professional race car driver for Nissan.

11:43and you will therefore have an opportunity to compete online for still another spot in Nissan's GT Academy.
11:50So, I know you might be a little down on yourself right now, but you did a fantastic job,

13:25Silverstone Racetrack allows these guys to go from virtual racing to actual racing.
13:30They're going to be racing Nissan 370Zs, obviously, in the sleds here today on the Silverstone Circuit.
13:37Three laps, but when they get into the real cars at the Silverstone Racetrack, they're going to be racing Nissan

13:42They're going to be racing Nissan 370Zs automatic as well as stick.

17:40Patrick knows he can be aggressive as possible going into this last one

17:55So, we know what just happened.
17:58I'd advise you to keep racing.
