00:00Brings us up to our next team that we're going to talk about, Minnesota Twins and the Baltimore Orioles.
00:03The Orioles set up to have a really good hitting lineup here.
00:06We'll see if the pitching can come around, but also, Tom, I want to focus on the Minnesota Twins.
00:10Ryan's going to get the start. They're a plus-130 dog on opening day.
00:13The favorite, of course, is the Orioles at a minus-154 price.
00:16Look at Ryan Rogers there in game number one.
00:18But the Minnesota Twins, Tom, one of those franchises that doesn't spend a lot of money but usually competitive,
00:23sold just about everybody it felt last year, and now it feels like with a lockout on the horizon,
00:27I wouldn't be surprised if they get off to a terrible start that by the all-star break,
00:31they're moving everybody, including Byron Buxton at this point.
00:35Last year, it was, what, 10, 11, 12 players that they traded away at the deadline?
00:40Yeah.
00:40I think it's been once and the same this year.
00:42Last year, the Twins were the favorite to win the AL Central, and I vividly remember saying completely wrong.
00:49We did that preview show last year, and I remember saying it was a completely wrong number.
00:52I'm out on the Twins, and I couldn't have been more right.
00:55I'm not going to pat myself on the back, but they're just not a good franchise.
00:58They're not a franchise that spends.
01:00They don't have a good enough lineup.
01:01They have a terrible starting rotation.
01:02They don't have a good bullpen.
01:04Sell, sell, sell on the Twins.
01:05Frankly, if you were to give me odds on the Twins or the White Sox to finish worst in the
01:10AL Central,
01:11I might have interest in the Twins.
01:12That's how bad I think they're going to be.
01:13I think they will finish fourth, and then the White Sox are fifth,
01:16but it's actually going to be a lot closer than people realize.
01:18The Orioles, to your point, they're spending.
01:20They're at least trying to recover from what was a down year last year,
01:23trying to right the ship, getting Pete Alonzo, doing at least the right things.
01:26At least they're trying, Donnie, right?
01:28Whether it works out is yet to be seen, but at least they're making the right steps.
01:32Look, I like the moves that they made, too, because you look at that division.
01:35You need power.
01:36Like, you can't just rely on, hey, let's get three singles and get some runs in here.
01:39You go out and get Taylor Ward, who even only hit .228 as a batting average, Tom, 36 bombs.
01:43Right behind him, you get Pete Alonzo.
01:44Two of those moves made, you know, in the month of November and December here of 2025.
01:49Then you have Rutschman and O'Neal.
01:50Like, there is talent in this lineup that can surprise, but I love the fact that,
01:54and I still couldn't figure it out, and I asked Craig Mish this last time we had him,
01:57was, like, why would Pete Alonzo ever get out of New York?
02:00Like, New York has so much money they can spend, and he's a fan favorite,
02:02but something just didn't work between those two guys, between the guy, the agent, and the team.
02:07But if you look at Alonzo this year, Tom, what are your expectations here?
02:10His home run prop, 37 and a half.
02:14You know, I think this could be a borderline career here for Pete Alonzo.
02:17Like, just getting out of Citi Field, which is a massive pitcher's park, is a great thing for him.
02:23Now, a lot of people would say, oh, if Pete Alonzo stayed, look at that lineup that they would have.
02:27If they added Bobichette, they still had Pete Alonzo.
02:28But, man, this lineup for the Orioles, with Gunnar Henderson, who could be in for a bounce-back year,
02:33with, you said, getting Taylor Ward, with Ed Rushman, all these players that they have,
02:38they need to figure out the pitching.
02:39I think the lineup will be great this year.
02:41I think they're going to have a ton of power.
02:42Obviously, they brought defenses in a couple years ago,
02:44but the offense will be there for the Orioles.
02:47Yeah, and also, when you take a look at the home run props here,
02:49when you take a look at Pete Alonzo, he's going to play in Yankee Stadium.
02:51He's going to play in Toronto.
02:52He's going to play in Boston.
02:53He's going to play in Baltimore.
02:54Just a shame, Tom.
02:55We couldn't get Pete Alonzo down there in Tampa playing outdoors here
02:59because that would be a 40 home run season.
03:00I don't care if he hits 210.
03:02He's going to be launching some bombs into the seats here.
