00:00I'm talking about Toronto those Blue Jays did a lot of damage last year and they just
00:04one win at home Tom game six game seven you're the World Series champions and not the Dodgers
00:09it wasn't made to fruition but the question I asked you before Vladimir Guerrero Jr. last year
00:1423 home runs on the season you take a look at Vladimir Guerrero Jr. now listed at 29 and a
00:21half
00:21that's climbing up now Vladdy with a 30 home run season I think the power returns Tom and I like
00:27the Blue Jays this year but more importantly I like Vladdy to hit some bombs this year enough to
00:31get me to 30. You know I liked him last year for a lot of home runs and he didn't
00:35get it done and
00:36you know really the power was still there for him the raw power a lot of it came down to
00:41uh you know
00:42the ground ball versus the fly ball rate you know sometimes the swing path stuff and the launch angle
00:48all these sorts of things listen he was still great last year the Blue Jays were great last year
00:51it just the the inner the underlying stuff for the minutia for his bat path wasn't perfect I think
00:59he can you know rebound from that also I I want to think that maybe Vladdy wants to step up
01:05and think
01:05he needs to do a little bit more because Bo Bichette is gone right where there's like oh he's got
01:09a little
01:09sour taste in his mouth from you know the guy he came up with in the minors left the team
01:13and now he
01:14has to carry the team but we have high expectations for the Blue Jays that lineup is awesome and don't
01:19sleep
01:19on some of the the you know lesser or uh unknown guys or somewhat unknown guys Barger and Clement
01:25those guys can hit and those guys get on base and score runs everyone wants to look for Varshaw
01:30and Kirk for the power but Clement and and Barger those guys can hit and score yeah they'll sit at
01:37Wednesday night obviously we have the Giants and the Yankees uh opening day which is Thursday not
01:41even going to play that they don't have a Friday Saturday Sunday series here and take a look Gaussman
01:45Cease and Ponce here will be the estimated starters here for the Blue Jays opening day Tom
01:49Gaussman will get the ball minus 164 price plus 138 for Severino in this spot but also understand
01:55this Nick Kurtz that lineup is fun for the athletics and no they're not moving their ballpark they're
02:00still in Sacramento which is going to be great you take a look at Kurtz last year absolutely lit it
02:04up
02:04Tom can he do the same this year with a 36 and a half home run prop I think he
02:10certainly can uh he
02:12tapered off as the season went on especially in September where the average and the really dropped the
02:17strikeouts went through the roof a 35 strikeout rate in September is just terrible but that's
02:22the kind of hitter he is where he needs to get the strikeouts under control the power is always going
02:26to be there for him but like you said that that lineup for the athletics is awesome it really is
02:31when we see Soderstrom up there where we see Brent Brooker Langeleers I keep saying this about the
02:36Ash of the excuse me the athletics not the Astros the athletics they're going to win a lot of games
02:39eight to five they may lose games eight to five as well but they have a ton of power and
02:44we got to be
02:44ready for the fun in Sacramento now
