00:06Hello everyone, it's me, TheRuLocalManiac
00:09Welcome to my second video on my new channel
00:13Which is LocalManiac 1xMPS
00:16Anyway, today I'll be playing Treasure Island Dizzy
00:20Let's give this game a bit of a go
00:24Now, I did, my last video was Dizzy
00:26And the reason why I thought I'd do this was I thought why not do the sequel to Dizzy
00:30And I'll tell you a little story about, you know, when I first saw the game, I first heard about
00:35it
00:35I think I was at school and one of my friends had brought in
00:39I don't know whether it was Sinclair User or Your Sinclair, one of those magazines
00:46And I was flicking through the pages and I came across this, you know, a screenshot of this game
00:53So yeah, and, let me just go back, and it was a screenshot of Dizzy just standing here
00:58And I thought, oh my god, a sequel to Dizzy
01:02And the reason why I was so excited was because Dizzy was just an amazing game
01:06I really loved it, I thought it was absolutely superb
01:09And it was just, I just couldn't wait for a sequel to come out
01:14So anyway, the sequel did come out, and I think it cost £1.99
01:17And, um, loaded it up, I loved the loading screen, I thought the loading screen was absolutely brilliant
01:23And then started it
01:26And, yeah, just thoroughly enjoyed the game
01:29I liked, what I did enjoy most about this was the fact that how Dizzy had, you know, you carry
01:35more than one item
01:36And that was one of the things that I thought restricted the old Dizzy game, didn't you know the first
01:40one
01:42Now, the problem with this Dizzy game is that Dizzy's only got one life
01:47And it's a pain in the arse really, you know, you could be going so far in the game
01:51And then all of a sudden, you, I don't know
01:55And it's a whole, um, say the inventory system, you know, you go like that
01:59And it just keeps on scrolling, so say for example you wanted to pick up a coin underneath the water
02:05You'd basically, you know, you might mess up by doing that
02:09And that's what happened to me quite a lot at the time
02:14Now, again, this is one of the other Dizzy games that I've never actually finished
02:19I feel, well, I should finish these games one day
02:22You know what, I think, when I come back off my holiday
02:25What day is today? Today's Sunday, I'm going away on Tuesday actually
02:29I thought it was going on Wednesday, but it was Tuesday
02:31When I come back from my holiday, I think I've still got a few days off from work
02:34So what I will do, um, I think I've got a few days off
02:37Before I go back to work, so I'm going to just
02:41Try and finish, like, the Dizzy games
02:44I'm not going to post a video of it because it'll take me forever to try and do
02:47I just can't be asked
02:49Um, let's have a look
02:51Where am I going again?
02:53But I'll tell you what, this is just beautiful
02:55I love, um, watching this, um, game
02:58To me, it was just
03:00It felt like Dizzy really was in this new magical place
03:03Because the setting's completely different
03:06From the old Dizzy game, don't you think?
03:08It really is
03:09Whereas the other one you were in, like, a far-off land
03:11That was just sort of, like, a more magical thing
03:14But anyway, let me just show you this
03:15This is, uh, Sinclair Abuser
03:17Which, I don't know whether they said something bad about the, um
03:21But, you know, the Oliver Twins or Codemasters
03:24But, yep
03:26I found that a little amusing
03:27So it's a little in-game joke
03:29Then I've got the, uh, treehouse, uh, place
03:32It's completely full of them
03:33So you have to be so careful
03:35Especially because Dizzy only gets one life
03:39Now again, guys, um
03:41I won't be taking any requests
03:43Now that I'm back
03:44It just, I don't know
03:46I'm doing videos just for the sake of doing them now
03:49Because I really enjoy doing that
03:53Alright, where am I going now?
03:54Going up here somewhere
03:57Push that little stone
03:58Now, um, this did also come out on a number of different computers
04:02It came out on the Commodore 64, the Amstrad
04:05But it also did come out, I think, on the
04:08What was it on?
04:09Did it come out on the PC?
04:10I'm not too sure, actually, about that one
04:11But I know it definitely came out on the Nintendo 8-bit
04:14On the 8-bit NES
04:16And, um, some of the puzzles were slightly different
04:21But to me, it actually feels more at home on the spectrum
04:25You know, it really does, Dizzy
04:27I think Dizzy, I don't know, it's home really is on the spectrum
04:31Alright, where am I going to go now?
04:32So, I've got to go back to the other place
04:38And what also, what this also introduces, you've probably noticed
04:41You probably all know it anyway
04:43Is, um, all the coins
04:45You have to collect 30 coins
04:46Which made, you know, the game
04:48It added to it, it really did
04:53Alright
04:54Where am I going to go, shall I get up here and have it all?
04:58But look, yep, there's a coin in there
05:01And like I've said, like in the last video
05:03Actually, I don't know if I did, actually
05:05Um, there's a program called Dizzy Age
05:08Which lets you make your own Dizzy games
05:11And I still haven't got to grips with it
05:16But, give it a go
05:17Also, you'll find that at yokefoot.com or at, you know, Dizzy Age
05:21Check it out
05:22There's so many amazing fan-made games, you know
05:26It's, you can't really come across, um, these Dizzy games now
05:31Because, uh, Codemasters won't let you use them
05:35So, what you can do is play the, uh, remade game
05:39Which is for free
05:41And you can play that, you know, you can get that from the sites I mentioned before
05:45Oh, come on
05:46Come on
05:48You know, I don't remember what all this stuff's for
05:50Um, where am I gonna go?
05:52Let me just
05:54There we go
05:55And what I do like about this one, later on in Dizzy games
05:57If you jumped off from a great height, you'd hurt yourself
06:00Which I think is completely stupid
06:03But I do love this whole new environment, you know
06:05It's got similar style graphics, like with the tree and the leaves and everything
06:08Which I think is perfectly fine, you know
06:12Where am I gonna go?
06:13Where am I gonna go?
06:13I'm gonna go for a little swim
06:18There we go
06:22Now, the first time I did this, I was completely amazed
06:25You know, going under the water
06:26It really felt to me at the time that, that water effect there was just superb of those little bubbles
06:32Couldn't believe it
06:34Anyway
06:36Yeah, look at me
06:38I'm under the sea
06:40I've got a jellyfish
06:42Now, if I touch that jellyfish, I'll be dead
06:45I might do that
06:46I might
06:47Cure Dizzy
06:48Not because of my bastard
06:50But, you know, just to show you what happens
06:51By the way, he just floats up
06:55Come on
06:57Shall I kill him?
06:59Let me get that coin, then
07:00Let me just cure Dizzy
07:04Ohhhh
07:04No, he's dead
07:07Anyway guys
07:08This is my quick review of Treasure Island Dizzy
07:10It's a great game
07:13You know, it improves on the first Dizzy game
07:15It's got amazing music
07:16I definitely recommend that everyone should give it a go
07:19Alright, thanks very much
07:21And see you on my next video sometime soon
07:23Goodbye
