00:15So let's jump headfirst into one of our biggest features, paths.
00:20So everyone picks a path when they create their character.
00:23It's part of you.
00:24But unlike your race and class, this choice is about how to play MMOs.
00:28Now don't get me wrong, the game itself has a huge amount of variety.
00:32No matter what your path, you'll be getting into all kinds of situations,
00:36like going kamikaze rhino on some dastardly pirates,
00:39or finding underwater robots in a frozen lake.
00:42But paths will consistently give you more of your favorite content.
00:45Take my buddy Fedora here. She likes to explore.
00:48In other games, she's always trying to find secret locations
00:51or race me from some farmhouse to some satellite dish.
00:54Hell, she turns MMOs into scavenger hunts.
00:57In Wildstar, because she picked the explorer path,
01:00she has access to that content everywhere.
01:03Like placing a beacon on top of this tree,
01:05discovering a secret underground tunnel system,
01:07or running a time challenge from way up here to way over there.
01:12She'll even get actual scavenger hunts.
01:15Now Franco here, he likes to know things.
01:18Like, what's the deal with these giant flowers?
01:20Why does their pollen make me float?
01:21This is why Franco plays scientist.
01:24He's got a little scan bot that can unlock all the answers he seeks.
01:27Like, what's the secret purpose of this facility?
01:30And how can he arrange these things in just the right way so...
01:35Aw, s***.
01:36Hidden room.
01:37Now me?
01:38I just like killing things.
01:40And not just everyday things.
01:42Big ol' waves of things.
01:44Freaking huge weird things.
01:47Yeah!
01:48Get some!
01:49That's why I play Soldier.
01:51Soldier gives me experimental weaponry to play with,
01:55huge holdouts,
01:55and super hard boss fights.
01:57And then you have settlers,
01:59like J.P. Higginbottom.
02:01He can literally build buildings.
02:03All over the place.
02:05Things like buff stations,
02:06vendors,
02:07secret quest givers,
02:08even shared infrastructure projects.
02:11And J.P. Higginbottom loves the attention.
02:14You may see him trying to attract you to his campfire.
02:16Don't feel special.
02:17He gets path XP when you use it.
02:20Now when all of us group together,
02:21it gets pretty awesome.
02:23It's like an old pen and paper adventuring party.
02:25Fedora drags us up deadly jump puzzles,
02:28Franco tells us a secret backstory,
02:30I get the group into huge fights,
02:32and J.P. Higginbottom builds us speeder bikes
02:35to ride back into town.
02:37Even playing this same path is fun.
02:39Explorers can, like, race each other
02:41to the top of the mountain,
02:43soldiers make each other's holdouts bigger
02:45and more rewarding,
02:46even settlers get payoffs for teamwork.
02:49I could go on forever about paths,
02:51but I gotta run.
02:53J.P. Higginbottom just built a bar.
02:55And drinks are half off.
