00:32If you look across these games in this 2-8 span that the Warriors have had, it's not as if
00:42they're not competing early. You're seeing them go out and get a 21-point lead on the Knicks. You're seeing
00:46them lead at half against the Pistons. They have been able to compete early. It's about closing. So starting stronger
00:52has been better, but they need to be two halves put together.
00:55Always important to get off to a good start. Establish your style of play, the tempo, the rhythm you want
01:01to play with, but then also being able to maintain through some missed shots, through some turnovers.
01:10But they've got to do a much better job coming off last night with 26 turnovers. I think we start
01:16with that. I think everything will still fall in place.
01:18And then making your shots. The three-point shot has gone awry for the Golden State Warriors, who look, let's
01:23face it, 40% of their points come from the three-point line this season.
01:26Of course. And it's all about creating the right shot, making sure that you're creating situations out of tempo, putting
01:32people in the right positions on the floor, not rushing shots, and taking shots that people are in good position
01:37to offensive rebound as well.
01:38You take high-quality shots, I'll live with the misses. Get back on defense. Don't give the opposing team live
01:44ball turnovers that demoralize the good things you're doing.
01:47All right, game number five of the six-game road trip coming up here down in Atlanta at State Farm
01:52Arena.
01:53We go back down to the ATL to the Gentleman. Call of the action, as always, here at NBC Sports
01:57Bay Area.
01:58Bob Fitzgerald and Kalena Azabuki. And, Fitz, let's try to erase last night from our minds.
02:0426 turnovers a season high. How about the points of the paint? They got dominated by 30 here.
02:09Let's just wash it away and try to play some good, clean basketball tonight and get to Atlanta.
02:14Botte, you're right, and I want to piggyback on what Mully just said.
02:19Turnovers are demoralizing, Kay.
02:21If you miss a shot, you get back on defense, okay, fine.
02:24At least you had a shot on goal.
02:26When you're having 26 turnovers, 26 missed opportunities to at least shoot the ball.
02:32And that's where, with the travel, with the back-to-backs, the shoulder slump,
02:37because it's like, ugh, we kicked it away.
02:39So, tonight, Dyson Daniels percent, he's Asar Thompson.
02:44Don't dribble near him.
02:45You have to be aware of guys that steal the ball and run it back the other way.
02:50We're talking about ball security, making sure your passes get to their targets.
02:55I want to see the Warriors attack them.
02:57You force turnovers.
02:58Like, I feel like we are.
03:00I don't think it's us, but I think sometimes you can have, like, a kind of defensive mentality.
03:05Like, oh, we just, we got to take care of the ball.
03:07They're going to attack us.
03:08No, you be the attacker, Molly.
03:10Can you explain to me what that electric feeling is like in the locker room
03:15when you feel like you're the more aggressive team, you're punk in the other team defense.
03:19Because the Warriors are one of the best opponent turnover teams in the league.
03:22They're one of the best steals teams in the league.
03:24You can do what the Pistons did to something.
03:26Like, you can do what the Atlanta Hawks do.
03:28Atlanta Hawks are another one of these teams.
03:29But the Warriors want to be that.
03:31And then let that fuel your offense, Molly.
03:34Establishing yourself, sharing the basketball, spacing the floor.
03:37Attacking the paint first and foremost.
03:39Collapsing their defense.
03:40And attention to detail.
03:42I felt like yesterday was the first time I really thought I saw some mental and physical fatigue.
03:47And the turnovers kind of deflated them.
03:50So I think it's important to go off to a clean start.
03:53Look, shoot open shots.
03:55Don't let makes or misses influence your defensive effort.
03:59And this team, Houston's a young team.
04:02They've had a great, since the All-Star break.
04:04But they're young.
04:06They're not a championship caliber team.
04:07So the Warriors get back to playing their brand of basketball.
04:10They'll have a shot to win this game in Atlanta.
04:12Now, Zeno, you guys were talking and you said a great comment.
04:15And how a three is created.
04:18I think it's not just the number of threes for the Warriors.
04:21It's how they're created that, you know, in, out, swing, swing, open pocket passes.
04:28And so I think sometimes, Zeno, when the Warriors get down, they try to just jack up threes and early
04:34clock threes.
04:35In your mind, who are the three-point guys that can create for others?
04:39Who are you watching tonight to get other players open threes?
04:43Of course, thinking about Brandon Pajemski, even going against Detroit 15-7 from a rebound perspective.
04:49But he's someone that can push the pace.
04:50He moves off, bounce off the ball really quickly.
04:53He can get his teammates set up if he can get into the paint.
04:56Two feet in the paint, get things kicked out.
04:59Make sure that your spacing is good.
05:01And that's always important.
05:02But definitely looking at pods, there's no melting tonight.
05:05I mean, this is going to be a tough night overall.
05:08LJ Choir, another person that's really good at getting to the paint as well.
05:11So, overall, everyone has to remind themselves, space out, run your lanes, get into positions, and be ready to shoot.
05:18All right, spacing is so important.
05:19Go ahead.
05:20Go ahead.
05:20Now, we're going to talk about spacing and send it back to you guys.
05:23Spacing, take care of the basketball, rebounding.
05:26Try to outrun this Hawks team as well.
05:27Should be a fun one down at the ATL.
05:29Fitzabuki, have a great call tonight.
05:30Yeah, I mean, you heard Molly say it, and I'm just going to back it up.
05:34Eight games in 13 days in seven different cities with three sets of back-to-backs on a team that
05:42is completely banged up.
05:43This is a mental fortitude test tonight because we've been through a lot of NBA seasons.
05:49You start to feel it a little bit.
05:52You arrived early this morning.
05:54Even the fact that this game is an hour later, East Coast time, than you're used to, messes with your
06:00preparation just a little bit.
06:02So, there's no excuse, though.
06:04Right?
06:04And they're on a second game of back-to-back, too.
06:06The Atlanta Hawks are.
06:07So, you're going to try to come out, play through it, brush off the sluggishness, have a great start.
06:12And you're going against another team that prides itself on getting deflections, forcing turnovers, steals, and all those things.
06:18So, you've got to make the mental adjustment because you didn't get to go over, like, ball security, get on
06:23the court or anything.
06:24You've got to make the mental adjustment.
06:26Make sure you take care of the ball at night after a 26-turnover game.
06:29Now, teams in the NBA, when you're missing your superstar, Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, a game or two you can
06:35rally around.
06:35But it's 20 straight games without Steph right now, and it's taking a toll on the Warrior offense.
06:41You'd expect the shooting numbers to go down.
06:43But the bottom line, K, you can't turn it over 19 times a game.
06:48You just can't and win a game.
06:49Taking care of the ball is always paramount.
06:51You might have to make mental adjustments in-game, too.
06:54Like, whatever happened to, like, coming together in-game, huddling up, just saying,
06:57Hey, guys, you've got to take care of the ball.
06:58Guys, we're shooting way too many threes.
07:00Let's switch it up.
07:01They may have to do that.
07:02And then let your defense fuel your offense, right?
07:05Because I feel like the frustration from the offensive side, missing shots, is leaking over the defensive end.
07:09The turnovers are hurting the defensive end.
07:11If you can get back to defending at a high level, let that fuel your offense.
07:14Get high percentage shots because of how well you're defending.
07:17Well, Atlanta last year had the most improved player in the NBA.
07:21They may have the most improved player in the NBA this year, too.
07:24Because Nikhil Alexander-Walker, our BMW ultimate performer, he is Shea Gildas Alexander's cousin.
07:32He's starting to play just like him.
07:34Man, he's showing the entire repertoire.
07:36His role is totally different here.
07:39His usage rate is up.
07:40He's getting more shots, shooting more threes.
07:43But he's taking advantage of it.
07:44He's been efficient.
07:45He's really worked on his pull-up game, his creation game.
07:49He's getting separation so easily.
07:52So, he's going to be consistently aggressive in this game like he's been all season.
07:55You've got your hands full.
07:56So, the Lakers are the hottest team in the West.
07:59Atlanta's 12-2, hottest team in the East.
08:02Back end of a back-to-back.
08:04The eight games in 13 days in a city the Warriors haven't won in a long time.
08:10They come here once a year, but six straight losses in the ATL.
08:14Monster challenge.
08:16Ten healthy Warriors.
08:17Can they get it done tonight?
08:19Bata and the crew back in the studio right after this.
08:24And Buddy Hill.
08:26So, has that smile on his face.
08:28Showing some love to Pat Spencer.
08:31Scored his first points last night as a member of the Atlanta Hawks.
08:34Obviously, game seven.
08:36Had a big one for the Golden State Warriors last season in the playoffs against the Houston Rockets.
08:40As we have our keys to the game here, the Warriors trying to snap a six-game losing streak to
08:45Atlanta down in the ATL.
08:46How do they do it, Sina?
08:48Taking care of the ball.
08:49Being able to create shots on tempo and on time for them.
08:53Not rushing themselves amidst this athletic defense.
08:57And hitting their outside shots.
08:59Just being able to knock those things down.
09:01They've got to control Nikhil Alexander-Walker and C.J. McCollum.
09:06After those guys, without Jalen Johnson, they're not a great shooting team.
09:11Those two guys can light it up.
09:13So, understand your scouting report.
09:14When you're in rotations, make sure you get to them.
09:17And maybe close out a little bit short to the other players.
09:20O'Connor can knock down a 3-2 as a big.
09:22Maybe some zone tonight from the Golden State Warriors.
09:24Steve Kerr.
09:25Make somebody else beat you from the outside.
09:26Here's the Warriors trying to snap their two-game losing streak.
09:29They've been scuffling losing seven of their last eight games.
09:32They desperately need a win to keep pace with the Blazers and the Clippers in that play-in tournament.
09:36We'll see you at the half, everybody.
09:38Enjoy Hawks and Warriors.
09:42Hawks and Warriors.
09:57What do you get after seeing the Knicks, the Celtics, and the Pistons?
10:02Now the hottest team in the Eastern Conference, Atlanta at 12-2, taking on the Warriors for the second and
10:09final time this year.
10:11Back end of a back-to-back stop five on the longest road trip of the year for the Dubs.
10:15And you've got to credit D'Anthony, Melton, Draymond, Green, and friends playing in these back-to-backs because the
10:22Dubs are down to essentially 10 healthy bodies.
10:25Yeah.
10:25Warriors are saying we're showing up to bring it.
10:28This Hawks team, you mentioned how hot they've been.
10:31They did lose last night to the Rockets, but before that, 11 in a row.
10:35You've got to respect that.
10:36That's no joke.
10:37But you've got to think about taking care of the ball.
10:39You've got to make the adjustment from last night where you had 26 turnovers against the Pistons.
10:42This is another team that forces a ton of turnovers.
10:45Ball security is huge.
10:46You get back in transition.
10:47They're second in pace.
10:48They get a ton of fast break points.
10:49And then limit penetration.
10:51Last time you saw this team, they dominated you in the paint.
10:54They're driving, and they're a good three-point shooting team.
10:56Six there in 3.3%, so you've got to help and recover.
10:59Jalen Johnson not playing for Atlanta.
11:02C.J. McCollum opens the game with a mid-range.
11:06So for the Warriors, Pajemski and D'Anthony Melton.
11:09Guy Santos, Draymond Green, Quinton Post is back.
11:12You're dealing with Dyson Daniels on the ball as you're D'Anthony Melton.
11:16Get him off of you.
11:17For the Warriors, look out for the backdoor cuts.
11:20They're going to overplay you at times.
11:21See if you can get backdoor.
11:22You're one of the best cutting teams in the league.
11:23Actually, the best.
11:25D'Santos out to Melton.
11:26Shot clock at three.
11:28D'Anthony Melton, a little finger roll step through.
11:31Quinton Post on the offensive glass.
11:33Now, from last night, no Porzingis tonight.
11:37No GP2 tonight.
11:38To add Namoudi and Seth and Steph Curry all being out.
11:42Get active on the glass.
11:43All part of just establishing you're bringing the force.
11:46You're going to be the more aggressive team on both sides.
11:49Akeel Alexander-Walker to Mohamed Gay.
11:53Dyson Daniels, he shoots 12% on threes.
11:57Okay?
11:58Is the single worst three-point shooter in the league at volume.
12:03Of course, he hits a three.
12:04You're going to keep playing the percentages, though.
12:06Majemski missing a three in response.
12:08Warriors left him open on purpose there.
12:12And you see Daniels, he does more of that in the open floor.
12:16Well, that's where he wants to live.
12:17I talked about the fast break points, getting back in transition.
12:20They want to attack you before you're set defensively.
12:24Nekka Khan-Wu out on Melton.
12:27Santos has a size advantage over McCollum,
12:30but those type of passes last night became turnovers the other way
12:34because Quinn Snyder, it's not just their offense.
12:36He has his team playing excellent defense as of late.
12:39Well, since All-Star ranked their second-best defensively,
12:42they pride themselves on hitting deflections.
12:44They're top six in deflections, steals, opponent turnovers.
12:49So, and it's plays like that where you get really good on-ball defense.
12:53McCollum, give him credit.
12:54He's bought in defensively on-ball defense there
12:55so everybody can stay home.
12:57That's how you get the deflection there.
12:58Melton off back.
12:59Iron Quinton Post has another offensive rebound.
13:03With the legs working.
13:06Traveling from Detroit, and QP, who had fresher legs,
13:09actually hits the three.
13:10He did not play last night.
13:11And make it tough on Okongwu.
13:12That pick and pop, he's not going to be able to get back to that in time
13:15if you've got a quick trigger.
13:16Quick Post came ready to play tonight.
13:19Deale Alexander-Walker.
13:21J-Mond has batted that away from Daniels.
13:26Even without Jalen Johnson yet, that's the problem.
13:28This is what Daniels does.
13:31Elite defender.
13:31The steal, the flip shot, the foul.
13:34That's why they gave him an extension.
13:36That's where he's made his name defensively.
13:38He's in the passing lanes.
13:39And again, it's not cheating a lot of times.
13:43He's not trying to get in the passing lane unless he's in great position
13:48or he knows he can get it for sure.
13:50And he does this so well.
13:51And that's why at times you just have to take a beat offensively.
13:55Actually, know where he is.
13:56Yes, on defense.
13:58Like, if he's in the vicinity, you've got cause to pause.
14:01That's what we're going to call it tonight.
14:02You want to take a beat.
14:04I always say that when he's around, you've got to make sure, okay,
14:07he's in the passing lane, maybe pumping.
14:09And that's one where you go back door.
14:10He's in the passing lane.
14:11Jonathan Kaminga did not play last night, but he's active tonight for Atlanta.
14:16Will Richard with an offensive foul.
14:18So, the Warriors 26 turnovers last night.
14:21And setting those screens, you always say, okay, set it and forget it.
14:25Don't let, don't, don't body block, don't move, don't get called for that foul.
14:30He's got to be stationary there.
14:33Buddy Hill was in the locker room before the game, visiting with the guys.
14:35A lot of laughs.
14:36Kaminga, I saw him talking to all the guys after his warm-up.
14:40It's good to see both of those guys.
14:44Kaminga and Buddy Hill are well-liked amongst the Warriors for sure.
14:48Porzingis has fit in as well.
14:50It's been a good trade for both teams as Mohamed Gay hits a three.
14:53You know, they're the sixth best three-point shooting team percentage-wise.
14:57And they get a good amount of them up.
14:58And two defenders stayed with McCollum there.
15:00And he's unselfish enough to give it up.
15:03I'll tell you, though, Gay, 28%.
15:04And then you've got Daniels at 13.
15:07And they both made threes.
15:09Quentin Post missing there.
15:10This is a start the Hawks would want.
15:12Exactly.
15:13They're trying to quell this momentum.
15:14They look like a team that had won 11 in a row.
15:16So Houston got him last night.
15:18Come on now.
15:19Daniels going to take another one.
15:20Okay.
15:21Let's get back to percentages.
15:22Dyson Daniels misses that three.
15:27Anthony Melton off the Draymond delivery.
15:29The Warriors running it back off the miss.
15:31They're going to get intentional about running and making sure you get down there
15:34before the defense is set.
15:35Attack them.
15:37Draymond did a great job of just running the floor.
15:40And you have Okongwu rolling and finishing.
15:42Well, Dyson Daniels, he actually played a lot of point guard growing up.
15:47So he's used to handling the ball.
15:49And you basically have the big man up guarding on the ball.
15:54So you get their big man cutting back door.
15:58Daniels switching on to Quentin Post.
16:00And he said to dribble at your own risk.
16:03Richard didn't catch it cleanly.
16:05Back out to Draymond to beat the shot clock buzzer.
16:08And Draymond lasers in a three.
16:10Everybody screaming.
16:11And then, boom.
16:12Sometimes when the shot clock is running down, you've got a grenade,
16:15you just don't think about it.
16:16You just let it fly.
16:17That's when your mechanics come out perfectly, everything you've worked on.
16:20That deflected out of bounds.
16:22And wait a minute.
16:23Back Calio.
16:24It hit two members of the Atlanta Hawks.
16:27So this is the last three from Draymond.
16:29You're just fighting to come up with the ball there and not turn it over.
16:33You throw it back out and you get a little drop-off pass as Quentin Post is using his big
16:39body to shield off defenders for Draymond.
16:42A little tougher to close out because of that.
16:43Pat Frere fixed that call.
16:45It is Warrior ball.
16:47LJ Cryer had a nice shooting night last night in with Pat Spencer.
16:50Steve Kerr going to shuttle the healthy bodies you do have in and out early in this game.
16:56Pat right off the bench and right in the bucket as Pat Spencer hits a three.
16:59Split action.
17:00So the Warriors kind of going on their little mini run here.
17:03You get punched in the face.
17:04You got a swing at him back.
17:06Collum came over from Washington with Corey Kispert.
17:10And he's been scoring his whole life from Portland to New Orleans.
17:14And CJ hitting there again.
17:15He's got that old man game where he gets whatever shot he wants.
17:19He gets great separation.
17:20Draymond cutting without the ball.
17:22Beautiful five from Key Santos.
17:23What did I tell you about the backdoor cuts, though?
17:25You got to look for those.
17:26Draymond Green is good at moving without the ball,
17:28even against a good defender.
17:30Both teams wanted to get off to a good start.
17:32First five minutes, I'd say.
17:34Second annual Golden State 5K presented by Kaiser Permanente Sunday, March 29th.
17:40Begins outside Chase Center.
17:41Ends with a celebration at Thrive City.
17:43Kalana will be there as the starter to see if you can beat him in a 5K at ThriveCity.com.
17:50Secure your spot now.
17:51Get a one-point game in Atlanta just underway at 7-1 remaining in the first.
17:56And our Kaiser Permanente teamwork in action.
17:59How hot has Atlanta been since the All-Star break?
18:02Hey, these numbers are absurd in every category.
18:06Yeah, it's wild.
18:07They've been the second-best offensive team since All-Star break
18:09and the second-best defensive team.
18:11And they've been just gelling at the right time.
18:14They're missing Jalen Johnson tonight.
18:16He's been a terror.
18:17A share in the ball as well.
18:19Averaging over eight assists.
18:20But Nikhil Alexander-Walker has just been unbelievably consistent.
18:26Jalen Johnson, 20, 10, and 8.
18:28Only Jokic.
18:30Okay, Dyson Daniels has now hit multiple threes.
18:34What is happening?
18:36Yeah.
18:37He's going to have to go, like, 2 for 10 to stick with his.
18:40I mean, 2 for 11.
18:41LJ Kriar makes threes.
18:42That's what he does.
18:43Yeah, you've got to answer that.
18:45LJ Kriar 44% on the season.
18:48Had three of them last night.
18:49Gabe Vinson and Zachary Chachet, former number one overall pick.
18:53Daniels has just been a wrecking crew.
18:56But this is there on the spin move.
18:57He's been super active.
19:00Santos.
19:01Little ball fake back out to LJ.
19:03They know who he is now.
19:04Mohamed Gay closed out nicely.
19:10Raymond looking for Kriar.
19:12Launch again.
19:14Off-fire.
19:14Will Richard fighting for that rebound.
19:16Knocked it away initially.
19:17But here comes Daniels.
19:19He's got to get back.
19:20Daniels already with 11 points.
19:24Drop it into Okonwu.
19:26Daniels on the baseline, but Pat Spencer was with him.
19:30Gabe Vinson missing that three.
19:31And a foul on the rebound on the Doves.
19:33I was going to say, Guy Santos, I believe.
19:36Guy was in there flying around.
19:39You know how athletic and agile he is.
19:42And Guy Santos had to do a little extra to keep him off the glass.
19:47They're not an amazing offensive rebounding team, but they're definitely opportunists if they feel like they have a little bit
19:54of a size advantage, which they do right now.
19:56Oh, Kongwu to Mohamed Gay from the corner.
19:59Guy from Senegal, two years at Washington State, and hammering that one down.
20:04And he is bouncing.
20:06And if he's running the baseline, just look out.
20:09Drew and Draymond there.
20:12Put Daniels on LJ Cryer.
20:14Guy Santos in traffic.
20:16And Guy do just enough to get to the line, draw the foul there, and show the ball to these
20:21shot blockers.
20:22They'll leave their feet.
20:23That's what I'm saying about the cutting.
20:25A lot of times they won't keep their bodies in between their men in the basket.
20:29But you get a little weak inside there, and Kongwu finds the weak spot.
20:35And then he's able to draw in Draymond and throw the lob.
20:39Get some pump fake.
20:40Show some patience.
20:41But get backdoor.
20:42Anytime the signal is, when your defender isn't in between you and the basket, he's overplaying, he's trying to get
20:47a steal, he's jumping, thinking you're coming off a split action, you cut backdoor.
20:50See if he can live in the paint tonight as much as possible as J.K.'s in the game, Jonathan
20:54Kaminga.
20:55So Jonathan Kaminga, his seventh game for Atlanta.
20:58Here he comes.
20:59Zingas has played seven games for the Warriors.
21:02So equal in the trade there as Jock Londale checks in.
21:06You know Jonathan Kaminga's going to look to be aggressive for sure.
21:10We were laughing.
21:11We saw that 74-foot pass he made.
21:15Oh, you're going to see that later.
21:16We got that.
21:17That was wild.
21:18We had some fun with that.
21:19His teammates had some fun with that.
21:22DeSantos, one of two from the line.
21:25So Atlanta, nine of 13.
21:26The Doves, seven of 12 for the field.
21:29How does the Hawks are?
21:30Warriors are right there.
21:31They're keeping up with them.
21:32The Warriors are trying to go back to the zone.
21:33So you've got to watch the middle.
21:36Jock Londale was in there.
21:38They're not closing out on Daniels, but he has been an offensive machine.
21:4213 of Atlanta's 24 for Dyson Daniels.
21:45He's showing you how you can eat up some of that real estate even though he's getting gassed a little
21:49bit.
21:50The defender was kind of close to him there.
21:51Close enough for him to get by him.
21:52But Nate Williams bottoming in three.
21:54Nate did not play last night.
21:56So he gets subbed in and drops in a triple.
21:59There's no hesitation for any of the Warriors offensively when it comes to the jump shot.
22:03That's what it takes against a hot defensive team.
22:06Daniels again.
22:07Wow.
22:08Dyson Daniels offensively.
22:10He only averages 11 points a game.
22:12He's going for his career high tonight.
22:14Seems that way.
22:17Santos around Richa Shea and just couldn't get the angle to put it off glass.
22:21Again, really good on-ball defense.
22:24Dominga up top.
22:29Londale and LJ Cryer just had to hold on to him.
22:32That was going to be a dunk and he caught that.
22:33Yeah, he just found that he was the bigger man down there.
22:37He's going to try to put LJ Cryer in the basket.
22:39He ducked in pretty ferociously.
22:41He wasn't going to let his teammates look him off.
22:44They were going to have to throw it to him or he's going to get a 30-second violation
22:47as Nikhil Alexander-Walker comes back in the game for the hottest man on the floor, Dyson Daniels.
22:52Cooled that man off.
22:53I was going to say, Quinn Snyder just helped the Warriors out.
22:57You know, Nikhil Alexander-Walker, 39 straight games in double figures,
23:01just like Shea with a 128 passing Wolf-Chamberlain.
23:06Dominga passed up that corner three.
23:08LJ Shea will launch.
23:10So Zach Richa Shea, part of the French Connection, the number one pick in 2024.
23:16That's where he's best.
23:17Catch and shoot spot ups.
23:18He's going to run the floor super athletic.
23:20He's going to cut to the basket.
23:21He's a slasher.
23:23Really good weapon coming off the bench.
23:26Dominga fouling Guy Santos.
23:28Guy Santos is testing people.
23:30And that's one thing.
23:32Guy Santos understands we can't always be on the defensive on either end of the floor.
23:37We've got to be the attacking team, the more aggressive team.
23:40Guy Santos is going to throw different moves at you.
23:42He's testing Kaminga there, his former teammate.
23:45Atlanta shooting at 12 of 16 and maintaining the six-point lead.
23:52Powerful performance.
23:53Kalena mentioned it.
23:54When you throw a pass and miss somebody by nine feet, sometimes it goes in the basket.
23:59It was tracking.
24:00Look at him.
24:01He's like, what did I just do?
24:02I can't believe that.
24:03The longest shot in the NBA.
24:07This is the longest one.
24:08This is since they started tracking this.
24:10Baron Davis from 89 feet.
24:12Now that was a shot.
24:14Yeah.
24:14And he threw it left to the court.
24:16He was trying to make it.
24:17So since the trade we talked about, it's seven games played for Porzingis and Kaminga.
24:22They're averaging essentially the same.
24:24Yeah.
24:25Kaminga got to 27 points on his debut.
24:28Started with a bang.
24:30Yeah, that 74-foot shot was the sixth longest one ever recorded.
24:34Now I think Atlanta is a great fit for Kaminga.
24:37For sure.
24:38Porzingis is a great fit for the dubs.
24:40And this will be kind of a trade where I think both teams will be very happy down the road.
24:44It's a great trade.
24:45Quinn Snyder is going to figure out ways to use his weapon off the bench.
24:48I mean, they don't have a player like Kaminga with this type of athleticism, that nuclear athleticism.
24:56Pajamski and Melton with Quentin Post, Will Richard, and Nate Williams for the Warriors.
25:01And Pajamski fouled and he'll bank it home and an opportunity for a three-point play.
25:06They're going at Nikhil Alexander-Walker.
25:08No.
25:10And you're just working off a little screen there.
25:13He went over the top, as the defender did, and got him on his back.
25:16And the swipe down was where the foul was.
25:20And you just kind of play through the contact.
25:22They're doing a great job with Nikhil Alexander-Walker on the other side, too.
25:25He hasn't scored yet.
25:26And he's their leading scorer without Jalen Johnson in the game.
25:29So look for him to get super aggressive to end this quarter.
25:33Kaminga with Alexander-Walker.
25:35Jack Londale.
25:36Richa Shea.
25:38And Gabe Vincent.
25:40Kaminga for the mid-post.
25:41A short off front iron.
25:42And Melton pushing the other way.
25:50Jemski traveled.
25:52He just shuffled the feet without dribbling the ball.
25:54That's the third turnover.
25:55He scored six points off of those.
25:57You missed Quinton Post inside with Gabe Vincent on him.
26:01And Quinton Post did the right thing.
26:03He did what Jack Londale did when he got LJ Krier on him.
26:05He tried to post up in there.
26:07You've got to make sure you have your head up, look to take advantage of all those mismatches.
26:12Gabe Vincent to the rolling Londale.
26:15Quinton Post sent him away.
26:16How's that helping recover?
26:18Londale's like, how did that happen?
26:19He's still down.
26:20But Jemski steps into a three.
26:22Brandon really has struggled shooting the three ball in the last couple weeks.
26:26And that was a good look.
26:29And it's one you want him to take.
26:30But you start to see four of 28 and things like that.
26:33And it gets in your dome a little bit.
26:36He's going to keep shooting it.
26:37I'm sure his teammates and his coaching staff are encouraging him.
26:40Quinton Post has been super active, though.
26:42He got that block on one side to help him recover.
26:45Then he crashed into someone on the other side.
26:47He's going to post up again.
26:49Londale to launch the three.
26:51And that is short.
26:53He's one of their better three-point shooters.
26:54So you need the good three-point shooters to miss
26:56if Dyson Daniels is going to keep making threes.
26:59Remember why it was incredulous that Dyson Daniels had made two threes?
27:02He hasn't made two threes in a game all season.
27:05Anthony Melton missing there, fighting for his own rebound.
27:08Setting up Nate Williams.
27:09He got into the body of the shot blocker to put it home.
27:12Go pump fakes, never avoid the contact, try to cave chests in.
27:18Londale was on the bad side of that one.
27:21I think it nearly threw that away, and he did.
27:23But Nate Williams ends up with a steal working in on Kaminga to lay it up and in.
27:27Listen, you be the attacking defensive team.
27:30We keep talking, oh, take care of the ball, 26 turnovers.
27:33We've got to be the – no, you're the attacking team.
27:35You force turnovers, you get steals.
27:37That's what Nate Williams did.
27:38Yeah, and then D'Anthony Melton doing the same thing.
27:40Running with Will Richard to soar in with a left hand.
27:43This is what I was calling for.
27:45You can feel it now.
27:46You have some momentum.
27:48Dumb Nation that's here in Atlanta is letting them hear it as well.
27:52You got that electric feeling on the bench.
27:54Like, okay, guys, we're doing this now.
27:56We're a good defensive team.
27:57Let's get back to defending.
27:58Let that fuel our offense.
28:00You've taken the lead.
28:01You're up three.
28:01D'Anthony Melton's getting in the passing lane.
28:04You do to them what the Pistons and Hawks want to do to you.
28:09Yeah, these teams on a back-to-back, but the way the Warriors are playing energetically –
28:13and this is smart by Steve Kerr.
28:15Put Nate Williams out there.
28:16Put Quentin Post out there.
28:18And then attack defensively in your own right.
28:21And they understood the assignment.
28:22Bring the energy.
28:23Look at Nate Williams right now.
28:24He's reaching in there.
28:26CJ McCollum.
28:28Couldn't quite bank it home.
28:29Wondale fighting for it.
28:30That hit the underside of the backboard and behind it.
28:34Underside stays in play.
28:35Behind the backboard is technically out of bounds.
28:37What Nate Williams is doing is putting them on the defensive.
28:40You reach in there.
28:41You attack.
28:42You kind of show on that ball screen.
28:44Get up a little more.
28:45A little harder of a hedge.
28:47Now CJ McCollum has to back up a little bit.
28:49And he's attacking from a little further out than he would like to.
28:52He's just out of rhythm.
28:53Quentin Post.
28:54Missing that three.
28:55Both teams have been shooting 60%.
28:59Alexander Walker heading to Kaminga.
29:03Kaminga looking for that Londale screen.
29:06JK from the foul line.
29:07A couple of jumpers have been short.
29:09Warriors couldn't quite secure the rebound.
29:11But if you're Quentin Post there, you've done your job.
29:14Just make him take a tough shot.
29:15You can test as well as possible.
29:17You don't want him attacking and trying to get downhill on you,
29:19which is what Quinn Snyder would probably want him to do against the big.
29:23And Quentin Post, you know, you gap him well enough.
29:26Make it look brighter than there.
29:27Everybody else is kind of clogging up the paint.
29:29Nothing easy.
29:31Londale with a wing three.
29:33Perfectly done.
29:35You know, Glennis said top of the telecast.
29:37There's six best in three-point shooting.
29:39They got a lot of guys that can hit from the perimeter.
29:45For the Warriors, though, this is the kind of beginning you were looking for.
29:49You're going to have a good finish to the quarter, too.
29:50End with the lead as Quentin Post knocks down another pick and pop.
29:53They're struggling to get back to that.
29:55DeSantos has taken two defenders with him.
29:57Throw it back.
29:58There's no rotation.
29:59There's no stump on the weak side.
30:00Quentin with eight two made threes.
30:03And Richard left his feet.
30:04And that's something that, as a rookie, C.J. McCollum's like,
30:08I've done this before to you.
30:10That's the old man game I'm talking about.
30:12He's got so many tricks up his sleeves.
30:14And he gets the separation.
30:16Once he gets the separation, that's where you're dead
30:17because you feel like you've got to recover.
30:20And you lunge at him to contest like that.
30:22And he's able to just pump fake and you're in the air alone.
30:24It's a lonely feeling.
30:26Now, C.J. McCollum has one of the more interesting NBA stories
30:29because four-year player at Lehigh missed the free throw there.
30:34He was 5'8", 5'9".
30:35And people would say, man, if he just was taller, he'd be an NBA player.
30:39Then he grew like five inches before his senior year.
30:44He tops out at 6'4".
30:46And he is an NBA player.
30:47Well, he credits his brother as he misses a second free throw.
30:50He credits his brother for pushing him
30:51and making him get up super early and get to the workouts
30:54and no days off, all those things.
30:56It's a wonderful thing to have that accountability that close to your brother
31:00that you can't escape him.
31:01He's your family forever.
31:02I thought you were going to say he credits his brother
31:04for stretching him to make him 6'4".
31:07I'm like, wait a minute, they have that?
31:08There was an episode of The Brady Bunch
31:10where Bobby Brady hung from the bar and got taller.
31:13I mean, it's funny you say that.
31:14That's what we used to do.
31:15That's what me and my brothers used to do.
31:17My parents are about 5'7", 5'6".
31:19We used to hang from monkey bars, anything that we could hang from.
31:23I think it might have worked, at least for me.
31:26So when others are saying, wait a minute, but your other brothers are as small.
31:29I ate all of their food, too.
31:30That may have contributed.
31:32I don't know.
31:32Oh, man.
31:34Pajepski won the tap against Landale.
31:36Wow.
31:37That didn't make any sense.
31:39He just stole it.
31:41Three-point lead in the ball.
31:43Warriors can go 2-for-1 to end the quarter.
31:45One-hand passes don't work.
31:47All the way, Kaminga with a steal there.
31:52Back out to Richa Shea for three.
31:54That's how it works, right?
31:56You make a pass you shouldn't make.
31:57You just got to show some restraint there.
31:59If it looks like a tough pass, don't try to make it.
32:01Make a simple pass.
32:03Sometimes you got to pass up someone you might think is open,
32:06but this is a different type of team.
32:09DeSantos fouled again.
32:10And that's one way to stay away from turning it over.
32:12Don't pass it.
32:13Just keep your drill alive.
32:15Go counter moves.
32:17Now, the one-hand pick-up pass in this league,
32:21as soon as a defender sees you pick it up with one hand,
32:23unless you're Michael Jordan and can palm the ball and pull it back,
32:27it gets stolen.
32:28We see our favorite.
32:29Steph Curry has that left-handed pick-up pass that gets thrown away a lot.
32:34I would say there's a time and place for everything.
32:37Time and place.
32:37Certain people, like Steve Nash used to do it all the time,
32:40but he would just make sure the guy is open before he passes.
32:43And then he realizes, okay, he's open.
32:45Now I've got to make the pass really quick.
32:46Then you throw it.
32:47And it's the problem where you're trying to throw someone open,
32:49and they're not open.
32:50You throw that pass.
32:51The Warriors shop item of the game.
32:52Good deal for the young Dubs fans.
32:54Hook them up with the hoodie.
32:56Save 30% off.
32:57Not the ILTG 30.
32:59We're having the 30% off going on this road trip.
33:02It's shop.warriors.com.
33:03Hey, kids, where's your hoodies?
33:05Come on.
33:06Just be happy that Dub Nation is in the building.
33:08Guy Santos, we always talk about the energy he brings.
33:12He's one of the best guys.
33:13He misses the free throw.
33:15There's number 30 there.
33:17Guy Santos, he crashed into Steph Curry.
33:19Chest bump.
33:21A lot of the coaches down there.
33:22Like, he's one of the most exciting people to watch when it comes to giving people high fives before the
33:27game.
33:27Shot clocked off.
33:28Final possession of the first quarter.
33:30Alexander Walker.
33:32He's got to throw one left-handed, and the Warriors come up with a stop.
33:37Amazing.
33:38Yeah.
33:38So, the end of the quarter, and a wild one in the ATL.
33:43Warriors haven't won here in six years.
33:46Good to see JK.
33:47Good to see Buddy Heald.
33:49And good to see the Warriors with a solid first 12 minutes against a team that's 12-2 in their
33:55last 14.
33:56Up one at the end of one.
34:02So, the Hawks' winning streak, Kay, when they won 11 in a row, they won all of them by nine
34:08or more.
34:09And then it kind of went from ninth to seventh to, wait a minute, nobody's going to want to see
34:14them in the playoffs.
34:15It really, Atlanta is playing great basketball right now.
34:19Well, they've had some big-time improvement.
34:21Defensively, one of the biggest areas as Warriors are trying to exploit this switch.
34:24They did a great job interior passing Guy Santos to Pat Spencer.
34:28Defensive rebounding went from 21st going into All-Star break.
34:31It's a third since.
34:33And then they've also lowered their turnovers.
34:35Much better when it comes to turnovers.
34:37They went from 16th before last time we saw this team to, like, ninth.
34:41Jack Lawndale and CJ McCollum.
34:43And LJ Cryer came from the weak side to knock it away.
34:46Pat Spencer fighting with Corey Kispert.
34:48Shot clock at one.
34:50The lob to Risha Shea.
34:51What a play!
34:52They beat the 24-second clock and make something out of nothing.
34:56That's what sometimes happens when you can't come up with a loose ball.
34:59It's almost like a fast break because they get in the passing lane again.
35:02Risha Shea diving on the deck.
35:05Raymon's going to hustle and save that.
35:09Energy level for both teams have been very good.
35:11Pat getting him back for three.
35:13Pat Spencer is having a shooting beginning of this game.
35:17He's got eight.
35:18Three for three.
35:19Let's see if the Warriors can maintain this great shooting.
35:22They started last night kind of shooting as well.
35:25And then they kind of dropped off there.
35:28Lawndale, Kaminga, Corey Kispert, McCollum, and Risha Shea.
35:32And the foul up top.
35:34I'm okay with that foul, though, because, again,
35:36the Warriors are trying to be the more aggressive team,
35:38trying to hedge up, blitz them when you can, double team them,
35:41get them backing up, get them on their heels offensively.
35:44Because you want to dictate to them what they do offensively.
35:47You don't want to be too reactive.
35:49You want to be proactive.
35:50Both teams shooting better than 60% from the field in the game.
35:54You want to keep this energy up the whole game.
35:56Corey Kispert came over from Washington with McCollum.
36:01Kaminga attacking.
36:02Draymond's there.
36:03J.K. on the midrange, banking that out.
36:06Draymond was there to help there.
36:07He did the right thing after the ball move.
36:09Just tried to tack kind of an awkward closeout.
36:11His man wasn't going to have the angle to cut him off,
36:13but Draymond was there to help.
36:14L.J. Cryer hit a couple threes.
36:17That one rims out.
36:24Kaminga getting downhill.
36:26Putting it up and out.
36:28Got it away.
36:28And now Cryer headed the other way.
36:30The Warriors are making it tough on him.
36:31Everything is tough at the rim.
36:33Richard trail three.
36:37Now it's going back and forth, and I think the Warriors' shot selection tonight has been excellent.
36:43The threes they've gotten have all been created really well.
36:46Every one of them has done a good one.
36:47They've had some in transition before the defense has said or early offense.
36:52Colum kicking out to Kispert.
36:53Shot clock down to five.
36:56Kispert on L.J. Cryer going to get down the lane and put it up and out.
37:00Warriors' interior defense helped the helper.
37:03And it's great on-ball defense, too, so you don't have to help off Kispert.
37:06Kind of over-help there.
37:07That's a turn.
37:08Yeah, so Guy got up in the air and threw that one away.
37:11If you can just come to a jump stop and take that pause-to-pause moment, take a beat,
37:18and just find someone to pass it to then.
37:20I mean, it's a good attack.
37:21You love him attacking and trying to drive as much as possible,
37:24but there's going to be times where your defender moves his feet and stops you pretty well.
37:28You've got to be able to not turn the ball over there.
37:31Dyson Daniels with 15 in the best shooting quarter I've ever seen him have offensively.
37:36He's an elite defender.
37:39Richa Shea, another three.
37:41Draymond, great, box out, fighting Lawndale.
37:44And out of bounds to the Warriors.
37:45That is just working on the glass.
37:48That is big time.
37:49I mean, that's boxing out, but then just staying with it.
37:52You had to keep boxing him out to make sure he wasn't able to save that ball
37:56as he was going out of bounds.
37:58So a four-point lead in the ball.
38:00Draymond leading by example defensively, setting the tone on that side, too.
38:03Both teams playing and traveling last night,
38:06and both playing with a lot of energy.
38:10And Spencer careful against Daniels.
38:14Shot clock at five.
38:16L.J. Cryer on a discontinued dribble.
38:18So at that time he was trying to get some space,
38:21and Lawndale moved his feet nicely.
38:23I like his mentality there, too, though,
38:25like going up against Lawndale, a big, slower defender.
38:28He's going to try to drive him, use his dribble to do it.
38:31Warriors get some substitutions in here.
38:33Get Nate Williams.
38:34Look at the teaching moment there for Pat Spencer.
38:37Coach Kerr, you have to embrace this stretch where you're shorthanded.
38:42These guys, they're battling.
38:44Coach Kerr has said it.
38:45He's so proud of them, how they battle, how hard they play.
38:47The spirit bar has been up all these games.
38:49We're just trying to figure out ways to compete.
38:51Warriors are definitely competing in this game, leading.
38:53Dominguez knocked away.
38:55Pajemski took it away.
38:57Shot clock at seven.
38:58Richa Shea carries on.
39:00Step back for Richa Shea.
39:02Zachary Richa Shea has three of four on threes.
39:05He has 11.
39:06That's the other part of this game, the entire repertoire,
39:09shooting threes off the dribbler.
39:11He gets consistent there.
39:12Look out, as athletic as he is.
39:14Draymond wanted some contact, banked it in anyway.
39:18Or is it that kind of night?
39:19I tell you, he dipped the shoulder.
39:21Here comes Daniels.
39:23He got caught up in the air, and Akagou saved the day.
39:26Good catch.
39:28Richa Shea's been hot.
39:29Daniels been hot.
39:30Richa Shea dribbled off his own leg, and Atlanta gives it back.
39:33Yeah, you're down when it comes to points off turnovers, 12-7.
39:38But again, see if you can close that gap.
39:41Force as many as you can.
39:45He's got a good one.
39:50Draymond running that split action.
39:52He's got Daniels on him.
39:55Pajemski shot clock at five.
39:57Dropping off to Nate Williams.
39:59Beautiful cut at just the right time.
40:02Pajemski was actually looking at the official way to foul.
40:04As soon as he got it, it sprung into action.
40:05Just got by his men.
40:06All the Hawks were looking at his drive, so Nate Williams could cut.
40:09I was going to say, if Daniels had made three threes, there's an air ball.
40:14And out of bounds to the Dubs.
40:16If he had three threes, we're going to Dallas tonight.
40:20We've got to stay over, man.
40:22All right, Warriors.
40:24They're trying to keep this lead and extend it out as soon as possible.
40:27And again, the recognition.
40:28Akagou Zanya, as good of a defender as he is, as switchable as he is,
40:32drive him.
40:32Don't let people off the hook.
40:34That's what we're talking about with the shot selection.
40:36You've got to make the right decisions here.
40:38Drive against Biggs.
40:39Get in the paint.
40:40See what you have.
40:41Oh, everybody's focused on you.
40:42Find your teammate cutting.
40:44Rishishay moved his feet nicely on Melton.
40:47And Kisper gets him on a switch.
40:49Anthony Melton banking that home.
40:52The Warriors find themselves sometimes in jail inside.
40:55They're figuring a way out of it with that footwork.
40:58Melton's got five.
40:59Rishishay.
41:00Quinton Post met him but fouled him in the process.
41:04Hey, Zachary Rishishay.
41:05Hey, he's bouncing.
41:06I mean, we've seen the outside shooting.
41:08We've seen the lob.
41:09And then that time attacking the basket.
41:11It was actually a good foul because that was going to be a dunk.
41:15Mandatory timeout.
41:16Dubs up seven.
41:17Warrior basketball on NBC Sports Bay Area.
41:20It was brought to you by Wendy's.
41:22Baconate late.
41:23Hit up Wendy's for a Baconator made fresh for you.
41:26Open until midnight or later.
41:28We've been up midnight or later every single day.
41:31On this road trip, getting into Atlanta at three in the morning last night.
41:36The Warrior lead at seven.
41:38You can take the Warriors on the go this season.
41:41Stream the games on the NBC Sports app.
41:43Brought to you by Toyota.
41:44The Warriors will finish off this road trip in Dallas on Monday.
41:49And then they're home for a little while.
41:51Okay.
41:52Yep, yep.
41:53Well, the Warriors have kind of closed the gap.
41:55Points off turnovers.
41:56Now it's 11 to 12.
41:58Risha Shea.
41:59This is a guy that averaged ten points in his last season in France.
42:03LNB Elite is the name of the team.
42:05So you're drafting him off potential.
42:08And you see a 6'8 guy with that type of bounce.
42:11You're like, okay, we can do something with him.
42:12My favorite thing was when he was like, in France, with my athleticism,
42:17I'm one of the most athletic guys out there.
42:19Here I'm just a normal guy.
42:20Well, Risha Shea, Wimbanyama, and friends are the reason why the LA Olympics.
42:26You already had France play the United States with a gold medal in Paris.
42:30France is going to be heard from, as is Canada, and the U.S.
42:33But France, they're putting guys in the NBA.
42:36It's no longer just Tony Parker by himself.
42:38They're serious out there.
42:41Clock at 7.
42:44Melton the 3.
42:46It's Anthony Melton.
42:47Warriors had nothing going that trip down.
42:49But they're shooting it from distance tonight.
42:519 of 17.
42:52I like how he kind of crab dribbled to the left just to give himself some more space.
42:56And then just a hard dribble through his legs.
42:58Got him to separation.
43:00Kongwu has been shooting threes reasonably this year, but in a slump lately.
43:04Kispert got the offensive rebound.
43:06And Dyson Daniels' night continues.
43:08He's got 17.
43:12One thing with long shots, a yield-long rebounds.
43:15And so he's been on the glass, but post-shot that flack.
43:19Kaminga the boy.
43:20In the second half of the second quarter going into halftime, you want to keep your lead,
43:24see if you can extend it, but just have a good end to this half as well as you've played
43:27psychologically.
43:28You want to feel good about yourselves.
43:29Kamski read that tornado move and denied Daniels there.
43:33Have some momentum going into halftime.
43:36Kaminga traveled.
43:37Just didn't have the footwork right.
43:39The Anthony Melton's on.
43:40You've got that 6'10 ring span staring at you in the face.
43:43Can be a problem sometimes.
43:46You get Winton Snyder.
43:48You get the most improved player a year ago.
43:51Then you have Nikhil Alexander-Walker might be the most improved player again.
43:55You've got to give it up for the Atlanta Hawks staff in terms of developing players.
43:59Definitely.
44:00You've got to give it up for the Warriors, keeping Nikhil Alexander-Walker to zero points so far.
44:04That's Spencer down the lane.
44:06Got a couple of blocks in the air, but couldn't finish there.
44:10Shot clock at 8.
44:12Anthony Melton on McCollum.
44:13Flips it up and in.
44:15The Anthony Melton.
44:16He's got double figures.
44:18First Warriors with 10.
44:19The Warriors have multiple guys playing well offensively.
44:24Nate Williams, he got the ball, but not for McCollum to commit the foul.
44:30You want to be selective with when you reach in against McCollum.
44:34He's got that thing on a string.
44:36Go bully ball here.
44:37Get into your chest.
44:39Take your time.
44:40A little pump fake.
44:41You've got a little separation there for that jump hook.
44:43By the way, the Anthony Melton playing back-to-back games for the first time this year.
44:47That's huge.
44:49I've been resting him after that ACL surgery.
44:53Alexander Walker.
44:55Amit Gay finding Nice and Daniels.
44:59Shot clock down to 2.
45:02Gay gets the hand grenade and hits the 3, of course.
45:05Well, that 8 of 16 for Atlanta from Dave.
45:08That was spectacular ball movement.
45:11That ball kind of had to go in there.
45:13Warriors are trying to make multiple efforts.
45:14That ball movement was way too good, though.
45:16That's Spencer Cuddy.
45:18Will Richard an open 3.
45:19Ribbed it out.
45:20And Gay with the rebound.
45:22And the Hawks are going, we want to make our push to end this half.
45:27Alexander Walker.
45:28He's not going to stay quiet for very long.
45:31I'm going to put the penalty on Azebuki for even mentioning he hadn't scored.
45:37Going to leave that quiet.
45:38Don't wake up a sleeping dog.
45:40Warriors to your basketball in NBC Sports Bay Area is brought to you by Xfinity.
45:46Imagine the NBA all in one place made easy.
45:50It is not easy to beat Atlanta since the All-Star break.
45:53They're 12-2.
45:54Just had their 11-game winning streak snap with the Warriors up a deuce with 4.5 remaining in the
46:00first half.
46:02So, our Kia player profile, Nikhil Alexander-Walker, always a good player in New Orleans, in Minnesota.
46:10But the last eight, he's been 50-50-90, Kay?
46:15It's unbelievable what he's doing this season.
46:17Plus 11 from last year to this year.
46:20I mean, he is probably in the lead for a most improved.
46:22You've got Keontae George, plus 7.
46:24He's done a great job shooting it much better percentage-wise.
46:27His efficiency, you've got Denny Avjia.
46:30Jalen Durant, he was already a double-double guy, so that's why I don't think he would win.
46:34But Nikhil Alexander-Walker, he really worked on getting into the paint, mid-range jumpers, pull-up jumpers,
46:40and finishing at the ring.
46:41It wants to be a three-level score.
46:43Raymon 3 is flat there.
46:45Will Richard tipping it up and in.
46:47Get active on the glass.
46:49Keep your lead at all costs as long as you can.
46:53Atlanta shooting 54%.
46:54The Warriors 60%.
46:56Kongu throws it away.
46:58Another one of these guys, Nikhil Alexander-Walker, another guy that kind of made his name defensively
47:04and now is coming on strong offensively.
47:06But look at Will Richard get inside.
47:08He gets inside position on McCullum.
47:11That is ferocious when it comes to getting your crash rate up.
47:14You attack the glass.
47:16Atlanta trying to up their defense's final 348.
47:20The Warriors have had just a wonderful offensive performance.
47:23It's Guy Santos getting the contact.
47:26Will Richard will get the foul.
47:27He just anticipated again.
47:29He just beat his man to the spot.
47:30He's getting inside position.
47:32Kind of cutting in there at the same time that Guy Santos is shooting an air ball.
47:35He's in the right place at the right time.
47:37Air ball goes to the offense.
47:39I like what Draymond did there.
47:40He had the ball up top.
47:42He didn't go play before the play and try to throw someone open.
47:45When you're trying to get your teammates to exchange and cross paths and set a pin-down screen,
47:51they covered it well.
47:52So forget about that action.
47:53Go to the next action.
47:54Swing it.
47:55Make the simple pass.
47:57Atlanta has not been called for a foul on the half.
47:59Challenging.
48:00This is their first one.
48:01So they're going to challenge.
48:02So Atlanta, no fouls on the Hawks in the quarter.
48:05So this will be the first one.
48:07Unsuccessful challenge.
48:08I think Nick Alexander-Walker, he started twirling his fingers because he got hit in the face,
48:12but he fouled him first.
48:13And from behind, he swiped down.
48:15Will Richards is like, yeah, go ahead and challenge this.
48:17I will say, I don't like that it's taking so long.
48:22Well, I mean, if they do overturn it, I disagree with it.
48:26Well, I'm going to say this is unsuccessful.
48:28Based on that replay, to say there's clear and conclusive evidence that there wasn't a foul now,
48:33would you call the shove before the swipe down?
48:36Okay.
48:36Maybe it's not a shooting foul.
48:38But we're going to find out here.
48:40There's no way.
48:44Yeah, there's no way this should be a foul on Will Richards.
48:47I don't know how they could win this challenge.
48:49It looks like, yeah, they're taking this long.
48:52They might have won the challenge.
48:56This is wild.
48:57I'm sorry.
48:59Some of the replay adjudications in the last month have been bizarre.
49:04I'm just waiting for the explanation on this one.
49:06I'm watching Steph Curry and the Warriors bench over here.
49:10They're just kind of, they're laughing about something.
49:13Probably, well, the fact that this could be overturned.
49:16The first, Alexander Walker, first of all, he shoves Will Richard from behind.
49:20Then he swipes down.
49:21The ruling on the floor is a successful challenge as the defender gets to the ball prior to any contact.
49:27There is also enemy possession, which will be Hawks' ball below the free throw line extended.
49:32343 on the game clock, 23 on the shot clock.
49:35Wow.
49:36I mean, they're saying it's precision.
49:37Like Andre Godali, he got to the ball first.
49:39I'm just saying, what about the fact he shoved him in the back before he swiped down?
49:43Watch, watch.
49:44Right there is the foul.
49:46He shoved him in the back, then he swiped down.
49:48So if you say the swipe down was clean, what about the shove in the back first?
49:51How do you think Will Richard moved from point A to point B when he's being shoved in the back?
49:57When you look at the replay, look at the whole play.
49:59I don't know about the shove in the back.
50:00He was fired in there, so that's, I think, why he went from A to B.
50:03But, yeah, I thought he just swiped over the top of him and got armed.
50:07But I guess they're saying he got all ball.
50:09All right.
50:10The basketball guy just evened it up because that's a possession Atlanta never should have had.
50:15Some would say balled on line.
50:18The philosopher, Mr. Rasheed Wallace.
50:21Yeah.
50:24He had to look up clear and conclusive.
50:27Majemski missing that three.
50:29I mean, replay overturn needs to be obvious to overturn the call on the floor.
50:33That's what we thought.
50:35Tongwu for three.
50:37In that out and Draymond will track it down.
50:45That's an offensive foul on a moving screen.
50:50That's a rough go as a turn.
50:52That'll be the seventh Warrior turnover.
50:56They forced eight of them, though.
50:57They're still winning points off turnovers.
50:59Coach Kerr is saying it's a flop.
51:01He wants to challenge this one.
51:03Yeah.
51:05I'll raise your challenge with my own flop challenge.
51:09Well, challenges have been unkind to the Warriors.
51:13I'm going to look up clear and obvious again.
51:18So the Warriors challenged whether or not Alexander Walker fell on this screen, but this was a tough one because
51:26it looked like Draymond kind of lunged at him a little bit.
51:30There's a little force behind now, and Draymond would say, well, I'm just bracing myself.
51:34Well, I'm trying to stay stationary.
51:37You see him kind of leaning a little bit, and Nikhil Alexander Walker gets knocked over.
51:43Coach Kerr wanted a flop.
51:45I wouldn't say it's a flop.
51:47He definitely felt the contact, fell over because of it.
51:51Is it a foul, though?
51:53Tough to say.
51:54It's clear and conclusive.
51:56It's clear and conclusive.
51:57He got us last time.
51:58This will be an unsuccessful challenge based on the previous interpretation.
52:06Yeah, I would say this is clear and conclusive enough to overtime.
52:09They are talking about it.
52:10They're discussing.
52:11You also have to take into account who's involved in the play.
52:15The offensive player delivers a blow.
52:19So, therefore, this is an unsuccessful challenge will remain a Hawks ball.
52:24I could have told you that.
52:27So, the challenges are done for the Warriors with 3-0-3 remaining in the half.
52:32The Hawks still have one.
52:33They do.
52:34Yeah.
52:34They won theirs.
52:37The Hawks still haven't been called for a foul in the quarter.
52:40It's wild, but the Warriors are trying to be the more physical team.
52:45They have three team fouls.
52:47So, 3-0-3 left.
52:49Now, you've played great basketball.
52:51Yeah.
52:51And you're in a very good position.
52:53How do you handle the final three minutes?
53:03Daniels.
53:04Graymont went to double.
53:05Beautiful job, Graymont Green.
53:07And Pat Spencer, the steal.
53:08Pat taking it back.
53:10Flipped it up and over the backboard on the tip ball.
53:13That's out of bounds to Atlanta.
53:15And you're okay with that attack, though.
53:17And that was a double team that caught Dyson Daniels off guard.
53:20Wasn't able to make the pass out of it successfully.
53:23Went one-handed and Pat Spencer rotated and did a great job of getting that steal.
53:27Just couldn't convert on the other side.
53:30D.J.
53:31McCollum for three.
53:33Good box out Pachemski, but Okongwu quickest man to the ball.
53:37Mohamed Gay.
53:38He is a 28% three-point shooter that is three for three on threes tonight.
53:45That form looks pretty good.
53:47Doesn't look like 28% for three-point range.
53:52Daniels and Gay have been excellent scoring for Atlanta.
53:55That's what can happen when you struggle to get the defensive rebound.
53:58Pachemski caught that on the run, and the Warriors turn it over again.
54:02Eight turnovers to Atlanta's nine.
54:06But this is what happens on the road, Kay.
54:08A couple wonky coaches' challenges.
54:12Unsuspecting shooter hits a three.
54:14The momentum works against you a little bit.
54:16And you've got to lean to the tape to get to the 2-11 and get to halftime.
54:21You're trying.
54:21And they've got ten-second chance points.
54:23They're not even a great offensive rebounding team.
54:25The 23rd offensive rebounding percentage.
54:28Detroit went on a run to lead by seven at halftime last night.
54:32And this will be a foul for more free throws.
54:35Pachemski have blocked that out of bounds.
54:38And you're trying to trail him from behind, keep bodies around him.
54:43He's just going at a small defender.
54:44If you can't go behind, he's going to get separation by just going through him.
54:49And Pachemski thought he had it clean.

55:16They gave that foul to L.J. Pachemski did block it cleanly.
55:20Makes sense.
55:21But with Nikhil Alexander-Walker,
55:23I talked about him kind of making his name defensively.
55:26He said he always felt like playing defense for him.
