00:00They get 39 from Tatum and Brown, they hold the Warriors sub 40% shooting, and you see why the
00:07Celtics have been the best defensive team in the NBA for a couple months.
00:11Work to do in Boston, Monte Festus-Mully, the Hall of Famer, coming back, jacking the box half the half.
00:20Warrior Basketball on NBC Sports Bay Area is brought to you by Toyota.
00:26Toyota, class-leading MPG and more hybrid models than any other brand.
00:31Toyota, let's go places.
00:36At halftime in Boston with the Celtics up 13, and I got to tell you, when you look at categories,
00:41what if you lead in points in the paint and second chance points and points off turnovers and fast break
00:48points?
00:48You should be leading, right?
00:50Except that Boston's offense has been incredible.
00:52Basically, and bench points, this is one of those where Coach Kerr's probably in the locker room going, guys, keep
00:58at it.
00:58Keep at it.
00:59We're going to get hot.
01:00We're playing the right way.
01:01We're doing a lot of things to be in this game, but you're down 13.
01:04One of the reasons is they've hit three more threes than you.
01:07That's it.
01:07And then six more free throws.
01:09So those two things kind of combine.
01:11But you got to keep going here and hope that someone gets hot, but keep doing the right things.
01:15You're creating threes the right way.
01:16You're taking advantage, trying to get inside as much as possible.
01:19Got to keep going.
01:19And for the Warriors, you just look at Boston's excellent offense, and we could tell you all about it, or
01:26this guy could show you.
01:27With the Bukis' big-time bifocals brought to you by your Bay Area Chevy dealers, the Celtics' offense really was
01:33something to behold in the first half.
01:34They do some things you don't normally see.
01:37When are you going to set the ball screen?
01:38Freeze it here.
01:39That's the ball screen there.
01:41On the logo.
01:42Look at Porzingis.
01:43You're at half-court setting this ball screen.
01:44Look at all this space that Tatum has to work with.
01:47If you're Porzingis there, you're like, okay, do I get up on this screen at half-court?
01:50No, I got to stay back.
01:52And then you keep backing up, and then he's got so much space to knock down the three.
01:56This is the offensive rebound, which, by the way, you're leading in this category.
01:59But this is where it bites you.
02:00Freeze it here.
02:01This guy is coming, Hauser.
02:04He's going to go in there and look at Melton looking up.
02:07Look at Quentin Post, Will Richard.
02:09Everybody's just so focused on the ball.
02:11You're just fighting human nature.
02:13You got to take a quick glance back at your guy.
02:16If your guy's not coming, get in on the fight with someone else.
02:20Pritchard is going to make it hurt, those dagger threes.
02:23And this is the spacing I'm talking about.
02:25Jalen Brown's going to come off of this thing.
02:28Freeze it here.
02:30Leones is going to stab, get back.
02:32He knows that.
02:32This guy is going to get back.
02:34This guy is going to get back.
02:35Quentin Post is eventually going to get out of there.
02:36He's processing all this when he's going into his move.
02:39This is why, okay, I can just take my time.
02:41Smaller defender.
02:42Shoot over the top.
02:44They're so smart with the way they play.
02:46You're dealing with a lot defensively in this game if you're the Warriors.
02:49But the second quarter after being down 20, it was the Dubs shooting the ball.
02:54You said it.
02:55Three extra threes.
02:56If a couple threes come along for the ride, the Warriors are going to be all right.
03:00But they're down 13.
03:01And they got work to do in a building against a team that won the title two years ago.
03:06I don't think the Warriors are surprised that they're down.
03:09You can't be discouraged in this game.
03:11You are winning a lot of categories.
03:13And you know the Celtics are really good.
03:15So come on out.
03:16See if you can have a great start to the third quarter.
03:19Punch them in the mouth early.
03:20Let them know you're here.
03:22So Hauser will show and go from the three-point line.
03:26And the champs keep with another rebound.
03:28Oh, look at Kata.
03:31Balancing act.
03:32It's kind of a crisp ball.
03:33See if he can get a foul there.
03:34He probably could be good tight roping.
03:36Pods against the shot blocker.
03:39Predicated for staying down on that pump fake.
03:46Shot clock down to four.
03:49Porzingis has to beat the buzzer.
03:51Did well just to hit iron.
03:52And then out of bounds.
03:54Off of Tatum.
03:55That's Warrior ball.
03:55That's an all-world helping recover from Brown.
03:58Just getting out there, contesting that Tatum jumper.
04:01And it is tough to bother a, not a Tatum jumper, a Porzingis jumper.
04:06It's tough to bother him because he's really tall.
04:08He's got a high release point.
04:15Ramon set that screen.
04:16Melton from the foul line and rimmed it in.
04:19And DeAnthony had struggled so much in that first half.
04:22One of seven.
04:22Just great to see that one go in.
04:24You see his reaction after that one.
04:26He's like, thank you, God, finally.
04:30Foul early before Brown went into the shooting motion.
04:34Again, Brown knows exactly how much space he has in there.
04:39DeSantos, he has him on his heels.
04:41This is DeAnthony Melton coming off of here.
04:46He gets to that spot, rise up.
04:47You're just looking for a shooter's bounce.
04:49And you're looking to the heavens going, man, this is wonderful.
04:53I finally made one.
04:54Now anything can happen.
04:58Hauser rocks into a three.
05:00Off the top of the backboard.
05:02But you see Derek White just knocking away from Draymond.
05:04They're going to get even more active with their offensive rebound.
05:07You don't even know it.
05:08So often opportunistic, except Tatum, four turnovers now.
05:13And Melton hit Poczemski at just the right time.
05:15And Pods then hit the basket stanchion.
05:18And you hope he's all right.
05:19So DeAnthony Melton was in great position.
05:21The on-ball defense was really good.
05:22So he could just kind of stay home, play the midfield in between,
05:27make sure he didn't have to gamble and get that one.
05:29It just came to him.
05:30And now you're off to the races.
05:32You're getting fast break points, which you won that category in the first half.
05:35Oh, boy, Poczemski's hand is okay.
05:38He was kind of wincing in pain.
05:39We know how tough this guy is.
05:40He's like, let me touch the ball.
05:42Let me feel what it feels like with this pain I'm dealing with in this hand.
05:45He had four assists and only one turnover in that first half.
05:49Only took three shots.
05:50Got to the foul line four times.
05:53So these are free throws five and six.
05:54And he's already got that left hand.
05:56He missed it there.
05:56It's not surprising.
05:57He already has that left hand taped.
06:00You normally don't want to put anything on your shooting hand that close to it.
06:04It affects your field.
06:06It's not surprising he went in there and kind of grabbed the ball there.
06:09This is a guy that needed two surgeries in the offseason.
06:12As banged up as the Warriors are, he is not leaving the lineup.
06:15I will tell you that right now.
06:16Big respect to him.
06:17And he's still grabbing at that left hand.
06:21That was the one thing last year.
06:22Moses with the thumb and then Pocz with the abdominal and the hand.
06:26Like, he's just going to play through everything.
06:29His teammates respect that.
06:31Whoa!
06:32Jalen Brown just made that one touch the sky and somehow banked that one.
06:38That's what Steph Curry does so much when it's a dead ball.
06:40He just gives the crowd a show.
06:42Just chucks something up there.
06:43And Steph normally makes it.
06:44He's so, he's wild with his hand-eye coordination.
06:48Uncanny.
06:49Now, Boston had been up 20.
06:51Warriors are grinding back into this game.
06:53He said anywhere around 10.
06:55Warriors are like, okay, we're in striking distance.
06:57Jalen Brown on Draymond Green.
07:00That is great defense.
07:01That's a great offensive player.
07:03Draymond forced the air ball.
07:04Draymond can still guard, baby.
07:07DeSantos on the step through and Hauser knocked it out of bounds.
07:10Still Warrior ball.
07:11You live the scene of that, but Draymond Green.
07:13He made him shoot it.
07:14That touched the sky shot again.
07:16A skyscraper because he was right on him.
07:18That seven-foot wingspan contesting Jalen Brown.
07:22At 36 years of age, how many guys can move their feet and stay with an elite player like Jalen
07:27Brown right there?
07:28Draymond, he's just special defensively.
07:30And he gets so hyped for those matchups.
07:32This is so his versatility.
07:37Jemski catch and shoot, and there it is.
07:39Pott's first field goal is a three at just the right time.
07:43It's a single-digit lead.
07:44Get hot.
07:45From down 20 to within seven, and the Garden's a little quiet right now.
07:51Jemski a little too much on the overplay.
07:53Well, I think everybody in the league, probably these fans, the Celtics, they saw what the Warriors did to the
07:59Rockets.
07:59They saw what the Warriors could do in games like this.
08:02And you got a little flair out of there.
08:04Hauser is trying to contest.
08:06I guess that left wrist, that hand is okay.
08:09He got the feel of it.
08:10Or maybe it's just numb, and it went in.
08:12He can't feel it.
08:13That's the key.
08:17Jason Tatum missing that three.
08:19Good box out, Keith Santos.
08:21Draymond pushing.
08:24Jemski had made one.
08:26Off-back iron there, and that's where the Warriors, can they string any baskets together?
08:31That's exactly the push you want, though, for Draymond Green.
08:33Any kind of screen.
08:35The man trying to close out the Bajemski.
08:37Inland Brown.
08:39Okay.
08:40He hit the fadeaway.
08:41They're going to get Melton for a little hand touch.
08:44And in a game with a lot of physicality, this is a little extraneous.
08:50Well, he had 23 in the first half.
08:53He's not satisfied.
08:55He knows he needs to do more work to put the Warriors away.
08:57Got Melton on his back.
08:59Took his time.
09:00Let him come around the front.
09:02He knew he was going to fade away.
09:04When Steph comes back, I want that level of contact to be free throws for him.
09:08He will shoot 38 free throws in a game.
09:11Jalen Brown completes a three-point play.
09:15So back up to 10.
09:17Look at Steph.
09:18He's like, that was a foul.
09:19Not against Curry, it doesn't seem to be.
09:24Bajemski didn't catch that cleanly.
09:26You can see that hand is bothering him a little bit.
09:28Of course, Zing is missing the three.
09:31DeSantos, did he touch it last?
09:33He did.
09:34Jalen Brown was there.
09:36They want to throw it in quick so the Warriors don't have a chance to challenge it.
09:41Austin is elite.
09:43Offense and defense top five in the league.
09:47Tatum is fouled by Draymond on the baseline.
09:50It's such a high IQ team.
09:52Draymond is saying he stepped out of bounds and they missed that.
09:56Coach Kerr was talking about this before the game,
09:58but they were just kind of under the radar before the season
10:01because Tatum got hurt.
10:03Everybody's kind of counting them out.
10:05They've been two in the East for pretty much the whole season.
10:09Here's the problem now, Kay.
10:11Five Warrior team fouls in the first three minutes.
10:14And you could have the Celtics live at the line here.
10:17This is going to be tough.
10:19You had such a great start, but this is how the smart teams,
10:22the high IQ teams, stiff-armed teams,
10:24you're trying to come back on them,
10:26and then they use all your aggression and your intensity that you're playing with
10:30and you're pushing and pushing on both sides of the floor to come back,
10:33and they're like, okay, that's fine.
10:34Get intense.
10:35Just foul us, and then we're going to live at the line.
10:38This is where the Warriors points in the paint advantage,
10:41second chance points advantage, points off turnovers advantage,
10:45but it's just Boston, the shooting advantage.
10:48They're holding the dubs to 39% shooting.
10:52GP2 in.
10:55Jemsky missed everything there.
10:57So Brandon is settling for some of these threes,
11:00and it is not his night from deep.
11:02One of six.
11:03I don't know if that's a set.
11:04I mean, that's a split action.
11:05Wide open through.
11:06You're not going to get any more open than that.
11:08Tatum on the crossover.
11:09Tatum all the way to the rim,
11:11and Steve Kerr's got to use the timeout,
11:13and a padded Porzingis on the booty there just to remind him what he did.
11:18This is how good the Celtics are.
11:20You're back to 13.
11:22You win at halftime with a 13-point deficit.
11:24Brought to you by downtown Subaru of Oakland,
11:26home of pure pricing, whether it's online or in person.
11:29With pure price, it's a win-win situation.
11:32Visit SubaruofOakland.com.
11:35And Steph Curry putting the working hands.
11:37Yes.
11:38Little balm on his hands.
11:39Like, all right.
11:39Yeah.
11:40I'm ready to take a couple shots right there.
11:42He's itching to get back.
11:44So you said it, the working hands.
11:45Steph and I were laughing about it because you put that on,
11:48and it's lotion, but your hands still feel ashy.
11:51But it works really well because it kind of helps you grip the ball.
11:55It gives you a good feel.
11:56But it's the only lotion I know where you put lotion on,
12:00and your hands still don't feel like lotion.
12:03It still feels kind of dry.
12:05But you look at it, you're not ashy.
12:06You see all the different lotions and potions guys can put on their hands.
12:10That's why he was probably looking at, like,
12:11what are these ingredients they have in here
12:13to where your hands still feel like this?
12:15Porzingis missing from the elbow.
12:16Payton tracks it down.
12:19Pajamski got into Derek White and got to the line.
12:22So pods, the three's not going down, but these are free throws seven and eight.
12:26Yeah.
12:26And that's how you make the adjustment.
12:28Well, that's what I was saying.
12:28A little ball movement there.
12:30Awkward closeout for Derek White.
12:32I said it before the game.
12:33Never miss an opportunity to drive against this team
12:35because they're not going to come a lot.
12:38And you mentioned his three-point shooting percentage in this game.
12:41You know, holster the three ball in favor of the drive.
12:44Steph Curry is the greatest shooter of all time.
12:46Xfinity, the best Wi-Fi of all time.
12:48The five-year price guarantee, most intelligent Wi-Fi.
12:52Nothing is going to be the same for five years.
12:54Yeah.
12:54In our entire lives.
12:56Yeah.
12:56Except for Xfinity.
12:57Yeah.
12:58I love the connection there.
12:59Steph has been consistently great for his full career.
13:02Xfinity Wi-Fi.
13:04The Warriors just trying to hang around.
13:06See if they can catch a hot streak offensively.
13:09Jalen Brown with a step around.
13:10Draymond's there again.
13:11What a defensive game Draymond Green is having.
13:16Jamski show-and-go.
13:18Trying to lean in to Hauser.
13:20Sam Hauser did a good job keeping his feet down.
13:22Give him an outlet now.
13:23Pocket 10.
13:25Melton from the baseline.
13:27Again, wide open shots.
13:29And the Warriors cannot capitalize.
13:31Yeah, two guys stay with Porzingis.
13:32This basically wasn't great there,
13:33but you found something wide open.
13:35Yeah, I like Majemski.
13:36Again, going show-and-go, looking for the mid-range.
13:38You've got to trust the in-between mid-range game at some point.
13:41So don't leave Hauser.
13:43That's D'Anthony Melton made a mistake there.
13:45If Cato wants to post up, shake his hand and let him.
13:48Especially from that strong side corner.
13:50It's easy for him to throw that pass out there.
13:52One of their best shooters.
13:54Back up to 14.
13:55It was 13 at halftime.
13:57Biggest lead for Boston has been 20.
14:00Porzingis.
14:01He can shoot over Hauser if he wants.
14:03And he does.
14:05Perfectly.
14:06Yeah, he passed that one out not too long ago.
14:09And Pat Spencer took advantage and scored.
14:12And you love him to shoot those.
14:14He gets it off so easy over small defenders.
14:16Hauser is at a disadvantage.
14:19Eric White.
14:21Back out to Tatum.
14:23Launch from three.
14:24Off-back iron.
14:25Big rebound.
14:25Draymond Green.
14:27Trying to throw to GP2, who's being held by Tatum.
14:30And that's it.
14:31Wow.
14:31There you go.
14:32No, Jed Amaitis Petritus saw it.
14:34He saw it.
14:35Now, Ben Taylor, I have no idea what he was looking at.
14:37But you had Tatum holding on to Gary Payton.
14:40And that was a foul.
14:41That's why you have three officials out there.
14:42It's a team effort.
14:43One misses it.
14:44Run in there and get it.
14:45The official six feet away didn't see that.
14:47But the guy 45 feet away did.
14:49No one's perfect.
14:49You know what I mean?
14:50Like, maybe this one had kind of a better angle.
14:53Watch Jason Tatum.
14:53He was still frustrated.
14:54He missed a shot.
14:56And maybe he really couldn't see him holding from that angle.
15:00How much longer was he going to hold on to Gary Payton?
15:02But GP2 has been doing this, right?
15:04Remember he did this last game where he runs down there in a hurry,
15:07gets to that free throw line, kind of holds his man up,
15:09and just seals him there, gives his teammate a target.
15:12And Draymond loves throwing those.
15:14Great job, Jettominus Petritus, because 46 feet away,
15:18he saw something that was fairly obvious.
15:25How can the Warriors capitalize?
15:27Pat Spencer cutting.
15:29Return pass to Draymond in the trees.
15:31Pat with a fade away, and he got another one.
15:34And Pat likes that shot.
15:35He does.
15:36He's got a dozen.
15:37So Pat, he just kind of juked his man out of his socks
15:39to cut in there originally, made the pass,
15:41and then found himself with the ball again.
15:43He's like, oh, this is my patent fadeaway.
15:45I'm going to it.
15:46The compete level for the Warriors is never in doubt.
15:49This has Denver and Houston.
15:52It has the Knicks.
15:53The Suns.
15:54They're there.
15:57Dayton Pritchard.
15:58What a luxury to have him as your backup point guard.
16:01This guy comes in off the bench.
16:03He could start on a lot of teams in the NBA.
16:08Austin's one of the teams looking at the title.
16:10Guy Santos, he is fouled.
16:12As Draymond, beautiful ball fake,
16:14and then the delivery on the baseline.
16:16And Jalen Brown was kind of ball watching.
16:18Guy Santos took advantage of that.
16:20Whenever Draymond gets the ball in the post,
16:22he's looking around.
16:23You're his teammate.
16:24You better cut.
16:25Like, I'm going to get the ball here.
16:27He wants to pass this to me.
16:29And that's why Draymond's teammates love him.
16:31And Guy Santos, one of the best cutters on the team,
16:34you've got Pat Spencer, who's still out there right now.
16:37He's one of the best cutters on the team.
16:38Expand on that, Kay.
16:40You can cut, and if a guy never passes,
16:43then you stop cutting.
16:44Yeah, he stops.
16:45With Draymond, you know he's throwing you the ball.
16:47Yeah, you might stop cutting with some speed
16:49if you know your teammate's not going to pass the ball.
16:52But these guys, speed cuts every night of the week.
16:56Draymond, what a floor game.
16:57Eight points, five assists, four rebounds.
17:01DeSantos has a dozen again,
17:02so 19 of his last 21 in double figures.
17:05And it better be, like, one of those cuts
17:08where you definitely have the advantage
17:09and you've got to step on your man
17:11because Draymond's going to throw it.
17:12Right.
17:13You go to the ball whenever he passes it.
17:16So you've won the quarter by three so far,
17:19but climbing uphill.
17:23Pritchard from the baseline.
17:25So he just gets to mid-range shots.
17:27We know he can hit threes,
17:28but Peyton Pritchard with his second unit
17:30along with Jalen Brown kind of leading the way.
17:33But as small as he is, he gets into your body
17:35and he creates separation.
17:38It is daring Draymond.
17:43Santos, good defender, Jalen Brown.
17:45Shot clock at eight.
17:47He lost the handle, turned it over.
17:50Santos wants him to challenge it.
17:51He wants him to challenge it.
17:53He's looking back there.
17:54He's run back just in case.
17:56They're looking.
17:57Jacob Rubin, he's looking.
17:59Oh, is the iPad working?
18:00Is it happening?
18:01They're losing time.
18:02They had thumbs down.
18:03No, we're not doing it.
18:04That was a good job by Ben Taylor.
18:06He knew the Warriors were thinking
18:07just before he handed the ball.
18:09That's good sportsmanship.
18:11He got his call right.
18:15Sam Hauser missing that three.
18:18Post, he fought off Keita.
18:19That's easier said than done.
18:24Guys in the black jerseys catch a hot streak offensively.
18:27This is the story tonight,
18:29and Guy just off target with that pass.
18:32Yeah, and here's Guy Santos there.
18:34It's a tough skip pass to make.
18:36Threatened first.
18:37You got a small defender on you, Peyton Richards.
18:39See if you can go crab dribble, crab dribble, crab dribble.
18:42Make someone commit, then look to make the pass.
18:45You said it earlier.
18:46Okay, that's a dead ball turnover.
18:48The Warriors have seven turnovers,
18:49but only three points allowed off turnovers.
18:52Huge, huge.
18:52They're winning the points off turnovers 10 to 3.
18:55And the fact that you forced 10 turnovers is wild.
18:58Since Boston only commits 11 a game.
19:00You need to score more than 10 points off of those.
19:02Tatum on the kickout.
19:03Pritchard an open three.
19:05Rattled that out.
19:06Look at Garza work.
19:08And with the Warriors getting over the limit early,
19:11that'll be free throws.
19:12Man, as Garza was fouled.
19:14They're calling this game close.
19:15It plays into the Celtics' hands.
19:19They're going to be super physical, going for offensive rebounds.
19:23Garza was boxing him out.
19:25He had great position in there.
19:26So actually probably, I mean, if they weren't in the bonus,
19:29it would be a pretty good foul because he was going to score in there.
19:33Garza played a career-high 29 minutes against the Warriors at Chase Center.
19:38Garza's in the free throw.
19:39Garza's gone with the Cobies, too.
19:41So many players with the Cobies, even Biggs.
19:44Biggs with low tops is rare.
19:46So Golden State Shoot 360 is bringing tech-enabled basketball training
19:51to new locations around the bay.
19:53You can elevate your game with elite instruction and instant analytics.
19:57So check that out.
19:58Instant analytics.
19:58You can't shoot.
20:00You are an awful shoot.
20:02You need work and need to come back to Golden State Shoot 360.
20:06Instant feedback.
20:07I did a voiceover for that.
20:09The technology they use there is so good at your fingertips.
20:12If you can work on your mechanics, I mean, that's important.
20:16Don't just take a lot of shots.
20:17Take good shots.
20:19Jason Tatum, what a beautiful defensive play.
20:22The Celtics are fun to watch.
20:24They are so good in so many areas.
20:27It's almost like they won the title two years ago.
20:30Tatum is fouled.
20:31Wow.
20:31Pat Spencer is jumping backwards.
20:33Look at him.
20:34Look at him saying, I jump backwards.
20:35He's leaning into me.
20:36You're making it way too hard on defenders in this league.
20:40If this is a foul, it's a flare screen.
20:43And watch Jason Tatum just veer into his line and find the contact.
20:50That's what I'm talking about when I say hold the line.
20:53You're trying to hold your line as a defender if you're Pat Spencer.
20:56And this is what they were trying to get rid of a couple years ago.
20:59One of the points of emphasis, they've kind of gotten a little lax with it.
21:03And Jason Tatum is able to jump backwards.
21:05The defender has no chance.
21:06And here's the issue.
21:07If that's a no call, players like Tatum will stop doing that.
21:11When you give them free throws, they're going to keep doing that.
21:14Right, right.
21:15Players don't have to foul bait if that's a foul.
21:17Like, just lean into something.
21:20Free throws down.
21:22Post is mugged.
21:24That's a foul.
21:25Payton Pitchard earned that one.
21:26Like, that's a foul on the streets.
21:29It's a foul in any basketball court.
21:32That's the kind of fouls you like.
21:35Payton Pitchard, he's got some battle scars.
21:37Look at that one.
21:37That's a pretty good one on his left arm.
21:39Look at Payton Pitchard's career.
21:41He won everything.
21:43Like, in high school, he kept winning the state title.
21:45He was great in Oregon.
21:46I mean, he's just been a winner.
21:47That's where I look at Cam Boozer coming into this draft.
21:51Cam Boozer, he won at every level.
21:53High school, AAU, the whole bit.
21:54I mean, there's guys at Draymond Green.
21:57He won at every level, basically.
21:59Yeah.
21:59What a game in high school.
22:00You think of him at Michigan State getting to the Final Four.
22:02What a cool story with the Boozer boys.
22:04Those boys are a sure bet listening to their dad.
22:07But, Richard, I said it before, Steve Blake.
22:09He was playing one-on-one with Steve Blake in high school.
22:12Then he went back and he was like, okay, these guys are easy to play against.
22:15I mean, good on Steve Blake to kind of take him under his wing.
22:18Not many NBA players do that or, you know, get a chance to do that with guards in high school
22:25that they think have high potential.
22:26That's pretty cool.
22:27So, danger time with 3.42 left in the third here.
22:31Boston using that foul line to kind of edge ahead by 15.
22:34Garza.
22:35That's nice.
22:35Nice feed from Richard.
22:37That's the patience there.
22:39You saw what Quick Post had to deal with.
22:41He's like, okay, I got to get to this drive.
22:42Payton Bridges is threatening in here.
22:43He's really close to the basket.
22:44As soon as he comes off, he gives Garza the ball for an easy little push-up floater
22:48that all these bigs have nowadays.
22:50So, Quentin Post going to back down Pritchard.
22:51He fouled him the last time.
22:54Lee Santos with a shot clock at 5.
22:56Got Garza on him.
22:58He very clever.
23:00Could not bank that home.
23:02That's the right idea, though, especially since you're in the bonus 2 now.
23:06Jalen Brown to the running Pritchard.
23:08A little tic-tac-toe, but Garza missed the layup.
23:11So, 3 minutes to work with here.
23:13You were down 13 at halftime.
23:16Austin built most of that lead in the first quarter.
23:19Lee Santos flat on that 3 and collisions on the rebound.
23:23Well, it just wasn't the night as Pajemski got his schnoz beat up again, it looked like there.
23:30He's holding on to it, but it wasn't the night to have a 7-for-31 night from the 3
23:34-point range.
23:35But you're still battling.
23:36A lot of time left.
23:39Bob Kalena with you in Boston.
23:42Our GMC drive of the game.
23:46And Will Richard and Pajemski playing solid defense.
23:49Get out to run.
23:51And Guy Santos leading the way.
23:53Points off turnovers.
23:54Favoring the Warriors.
23:55Second chance points.
23:56Favoring the Warriors.
23:57I'm trying to figure out how that wasn't a foul on Derek White.
24:00Watch him.
24:00Watch him just crush.
24:02Almost.
24:03And that's how you know he doesn't flop.
24:06Will Richard.
24:07There's a lot of guys in this league that will throw their heads back with that one.
24:11We've seen that kind of call go against the Warriors.
24:13Pat Spencer just fell into one one time.
24:16But, man, you keep it going.
24:18You're happy they didn't call it.
24:19And you capitalize on fast break points.
24:21So, this is interesting for the Warriors tonight.
24:25There have been games against lesser teams where they weren't shooting the ball.
24:29They got demoralized.
24:30And it just got away from them.
24:32Okay, they're not having a shooting night.
24:34We know this.
24:35But they are battling to hang in against an elite team playing very, very well.
24:40I just think they're so not surprised that the game has gone this way.
24:44We were talking about the Warriors shooting percentage without Stephen Curry.
24:47They're pretty much the worst in the league.
24:49Yep.
24:49And you're missing Moses Moody, who you've talked about, his three-point shooting.
24:53You're missing a Seth Curry.
24:55I mean, Moses is a 40% three-point shooter, taking over six a game.
25:00You're dying without that double-finger score.
25:02This is where your identity is, your spirit are.
25:05As Jalen Brown, his identity is that he is a certified bucket.
25:10What is odd is the Warriors are a very good free-throwing team, but 11 of 17 tonight.
25:16Celtics can't guard you at the free-throw line.
25:18That's true.
25:21Coming upon the final two minutes of the third.
25:24Quentin Postoff back iron.
25:26And the three-point shooting is, to lend his word, rubbish.
25:30Seven of 32 today.
25:34Jalen Brown missing that mid-range, but Shireman will drag it down.
25:37That's Quince English.
25:39Oh, man.
25:39Pajemski got rocked by Karza, and then Pritchard hit the three.
25:43And that'll be on a Celtic highlight reel.
25:46That is a setting a screen.
25:49That is a bone-collector move.
25:52A lob to GP2, did well to catch it.
25:55QP, the open three.
25:56Okay.
25:57He went four of ten on threes in New York,
26:00and Quentin gets that shooting touch back from deep.
26:03That would help.
26:04You got a threatening drive in there, collapse the defense, make them react.
26:07And open three.
26:09Richard, he is fun to watch.
26:12Setting up Shireman behind the back.
26:14And a three-second call because Garza, he had a little campfire gun.
26:19He had a tent.
26:21He was setting up the Wi-Fi antenna.
26:23He was camping in the lane for an extended period of time.
26:27He was posted up in there.
26:29It's interesting, in March, the Celtics team, they're kind of average.
26:33They're 14th offensive.
26:35Why can't they have an average game against the Warriors?
26:38They're not shooting it amazing from the field,
26:41but 11 for 28 from three-point range.
26:44But the best team defensively.
26:45Yeah, best team defensively, and overall, really good offensively.
26:49So, you've seen their body of work all season.
26:51You expect it to get back to that.
26:53Kemski on Gonzalez.
26:56Odds tickling the ten as that one bounced out.
26:58Brandon, tough shooting night tonight.
27:001 of 7.
27:01Brandon, those back-to-back 25-point games.
27:04Ada following home the Jalen Brown miss.
27:07Everybody followed Jalen Brown as he's attacking the rim,
27:11including Tata's man.
27:14Now, the Warriors are going to go from the frying pan into the fire on this road trip
27:19because from Boston to Detroit in back-to-back games,
27:23it's not a back-to-back on the schedule,
27:25but just two consecutive games.
27:28Of course, Zingas was fouled on the rebound.
27:30That's free throws.
27:31And Peyton Pritchard is like, wow, it was definitely a foul.
27:36But that's exactly what kind of happened.
27:39You get GP2 cut baseline, and Cata goes with him and can test.
27:44Two defenders there can test that.
27:46So, Porzingis sees that.
27:48My man's vacated the premises.
27:49I've got to make myself useful.
27:51He did.
27:51I'm going to put you on the spot here.
27:54Detroit Celtics-Knicks-Cavs.
27:57Where's the Kalen Azebuki power ratings right now?
27:59I'm all in on the Pistons right now.
28:01Okay.
28:02The Celtics are serious.
28:03They're next for me when it comes to the East.
28:06The Knicks, I did a game with them, ESPN Radio, not too long ago.
28:11They're solid, but they have disappointing performances here and there.
28:14Defensively at times, they can struggle.
28:17I did that Lakers game where the Lakers just kind of dominated them in the end
28:21when they really needed to.
28:22So, their defense has kind of been but don't break.
28:25I trust Jalen Brunson.
28:26But these two teams, the Celtics and the Pistons,
28:30as you get Porzingis knocking down a three after the offensive rebound,
28:33but those are the two premier teams in the East.
28:35So, that's a four-point play.
28:37Make the first free throw, miss the second, get the Porzingis three.
28:40But if those are the final four in the East, those playoffs seriously will be fun.
28:46I can't wait to watch that.
28:47Because James Harden with the Cavs.
28:50With the Cavaliers now.
28:51You know, Donovan Mitchell and Harden.
28:53That's serious.
28:55Look at all the time left in this game.
28:5846 minutes left to go.
28:5946 minutes.
28:59To do this.
29:00Oh, no, 34 seconds.
29:02Warriors, it's second chance points, 22 to 15 right now.
29:05That's a big part of why the Warriors are still, they still have a heartbeat.
29:11About a ten-second big clock, little clock difference.
29:14Winding down the 13.
29:15Feature knocking away.
29:16Will Richard.
29:18Going to peel out.
29:19That's smart.
29:20He knows you can play for the final shot here.
29:23And three Celtics were back defensively.
29:25Time and score.
29:28Will Richard, for a rookie, is aware of a lot of things that matter.
29:33We'll go to Porzingis.
29:35Final four seconds.
29:37Porzingis, tough fadeaway.
29:40Long rebound, and that will do it for the third.
29:42So, Celtics have the 13-point lead at the half.
29:45They tack on three more.
29:47They're still holding the Warriors 37% shooting in the game.
29:51Boston, 23-10 at home.
29:53The 16-point advantage heading into the fourth.
29:59Six made threes by the Celtics in the first quarter, but only five since then.
30:04And it really gave them that lead to put the Warriors behind the eight ball.
30:08And then the two-quarters subsequent, been pretty grinding basketball.
30:13Well, the Warriors have kind of hung in there.
30:14Yeah.
30:14It's kind of in a defensive battle a little bit.
30:17But you think about the fact that two of the Celtics are over 20 points.
30:23Jeez, which two would those guys be?
30:25Yeah, the Jays.
30:27Jason Tatum and this man.
30:29And he's – look at his face.
30:30He's like, that's the face that says, I am not satisfied.
30:33You think 28 points is good.
30:34Watch what I do when I come back in here.
30:36I love so many things about Jalen Brown, but you look at teams like when Indiana lost Halliburton,
30:43you know, and Dallas lost Kyrie and these teams, okay, you know, we're not going to have much of a
30:48year.
30:49Oh, Tatum's out.
30:50I'm going to make sure my Celtics hang in there.
30:54Jalen Brown, just leadership, talent, and the best year of his career all around.
31:00Kajemski skip pass.
31:01Draymond corner three.
31:03And he got it.
31:03Nice.
31:04So Kajemski now.
31:06He's sitting there with six assists, and Draymond's three of six on threes.
31:09Well, he was aggressive to make a play there.
31:11He went tornado move to get inside.
31:13Finally, two guys commit right at the rim.
31:14You kick it out, Draymond has plenty of time.
31:17So back to the halftime deficit of 13.
31:20That's a good way to begin the floor.
31:21Yeah, that's a start you needed.
31:24Eric White hiding behind Kajemski.
31:26Battled out that three, and what a block.
31:30Anthony Melton sending Shireman's shot away.
31:33That's called not giving up on the play.
31:35And Shireman, okay, good job firing in there to get the offensive rebound.
31:40But D'Anthony Melton definitely has his legs back under him.
31:44When he's punching on people like we saw last game, he's blocking shots.
31:49Shireman's like, and Creighton, we didn't play guys like that.
31:51As Pritchard was out of bounds.
31:53The Celtics average 11 turnovers a game, and they're at 13 right now.
31:57That's wild.
31:58You only got 10 points on it.
31:59Anytime you're scoring less than the amount of turnovers that you force, it's not a great thing.
32:05But the fact that you force them is amazing.
32:08How about two or three made threes in a row, Kay?
32:10Come on, making the Celtics feel you a little bit.
32:13They need someone to get hot, scorching hot.
32:16Przingis to Draymond down low.
32:18He got in the Kata perfectly and finished that.
32:21That's how you finish through contact.
32:23Looked at dishout punishment.
32:24Draymond cut in there off of that.
32:26Two defenders stayed up.
32:27He was initially open, but he just kept showing his teammates a target.
32:31Finally, KP, as tall as he is, is like, I see all the defense.
32:34I can find you.
32:36Derek White had Pozingis on a switch.
32:40Pritchard stopped on the dime.
32:41Derek White an open three, and he got it.
32:44It's just they're good.
32:45They're just really good.
32:46Two defenders were kind of hemmed up with Kata inside.
32:50KP got out there late once he made that pass back out.
32:55Paymond, he had the three in the layup, missing there.
33:04Shireman caught that on the run and then set up Pritchard.
33:07Good closeout Guy Santos, but the Celtic spacing, the ball movement, the relocate.
33:12Shireman missed that three.
33:13Pochepski rebound in motion.
33:14Orr has made multiple efforts there.
33:16Watch out for Derek White.
33:16Derek White hustling the whole way to knock it away.
33:21Shireman, how about that?
33:23That's a pretty confident stroke.
33:25He gave them the thumbs up afterwards, or maybe that's their defensive call
33:29because Derek White was doing it too.
33:32Melton setting up Draymond, sucks up that space,
33:35tried to drop it back to Melton, and here comes Derek White.
33:38This is for the Celtics, so good defensively,
33:40but the Warriors back defensively.
33:43Pritchard missed that three.
33:45Guy Santos, so the tempo quickening.
33:48Austin's got defenders everywhere.
33:50All the hands in the passing lane.
33:52Porzingis on target, but rattled out the three.
34:01Derek White.
34:02Oh, man.
34:04Fouled by Guy Santos.
34:06The body control and the strength to finish through that
34:09and lay it up and in.
34:10What a nice play.
34:12This dude is big time.
34:13Look at Derek White's sprinting back.
34:15That is all-out effort.
34:18I mean, that is exactly what his teammates respect about him.
34:22Then you get the thumbs up afterwards from Shireman.
34:25It's all taped up.
34:26He's going tornado move against Guy Santos.
34:28Guy Santos wants it on the floor,
34:29but they're thinking about giving them the continuation,
34:32and this is what Coach Kerr is explaining.
34:34Like, how is that not on the floor?
34:37He kind of had him fouled while he was still dribbling.
34:41They want to challenge that one now.
34:42So, Guy Adam wrapped up,
34:46and they will take a look at that.
34:48With 9-16 remaining.
34:52Celtics are awfully good.
34:53They've had the advantage for most of the night.
35:11I don't want any poll questions on who's been the MVP
35:14after your best players can answer.
35:15We don't need that.
35:16So, this is an unsuccessful challenge.
35:19It is on the floor,
35:19but the Warriors actually wanted the foul on Pritchard.
35:22They thought he might have hooked him.
35:23But it does take away the basket.
35:25Right.
35:26Well, I think they already had that
35:27because it's an unsuccessful challenge.
35:29Otherwise, it would have been successful.
35:30Something about the call changed.
35:32So, sideline out of bounds for Boston
35:34instead of a three-point play opportunity.
35:40Kato with the naked handoff and banking that home.
35:43Yeah, that's Draymond's move.
35:45Draymond actually reacted to it.
35:47He was like,
35:47that's what I do.
35:48You can't do that.
35:49His defender bit just enough.
35:50He's the only player in the league from Portugal.
35:53They figure he plays so much defense,
35:54we're going to play for him once in a while.
35:57I don't know if it was for him.
35:58Draymond wrote the book on that.
36:00They run the play for someone else's shooter coming off,
36:02and then he just takes advantage.
36:03His defender bites and goes with that guy.
36:06Post nearly had it knocked away.
36:08Little Richard with the shot clock at five.
36:10Returning it to post.
36:12Little tic-tac-toe and laid up and in.
36:14The Warrior interior passing's been good.
36:16They're using what the Celtics do against him.
36:18They keep double-teaming the guy in the post there.
36:21Quit post, tall enough he sees over.
36:23The double-team came from GP2.
36:25GP2 runs in there.
36:26And 22 assists on the 29 field goals.
36:29Tatum missing there.
36:30You can't have Shireman come in and get that.
36:33GP2 forced the jump ball.
36:35There you go.
36:35You got to scrap.
36:37You got to battle.
36:38Warriors are looking for that elusive comeback trail
36:41in this building.
36:42And think of the difference, I said it, 22 assists, 29 field goals.
36:46Boston, ISO 16 assists on the 34 field goals.
36:50And every rebound matters.
36:52And GP2 says, I'm going to tie this guy up.
36:55Yeah.
36:56Well, that's the thing.
36:56It's a contrast in styles, right?
36:58And I think the fact that they don't pass it a ton.
37:00They're like 17th in, like, total passes.
37:02Warriors are number one.
37:03That's one of the reasons they don't turn the ball over
37:05as much as the Warriors win the jump ball.
37:07There's not as many opportunities to turn it over.
37:09So for the Warriors, if they have low turnover games,
37:12it's actually really impressive.
37:13That's why you have, like, a tad bit of grace when they have.
37:15High turnover games is you get Will Richard making an incredible pocket pass.
37:20They need to have him handling and picking roles a little more.
37:23He's like, I can make great decisions out of this.
37:25GP2 has another double-digit scoring game.
37:28Oh, Kata guiding that home.
37:31I mean, I like Kata a lot.
37:32He's got athleticism.
37:34You got the little short roll there.
37:36He knew his defender was going to get back.
37:38Look at this screen by Draymond.
37:39Wide open three missed again.
37:41Jamski, one of seven from deep.
37:43And you got Melton, one of six from deep.
37:46And Boston is running off those long misses with Pritchard able to score.
37:50I think Draymond was trying to foul there.
37:57Draymond, looking it up and out.
37:59GP2 will guide it home.
38:00The Warriors have done that.
38:01That's why they win the second chance points.
38:03When two defenders go and try to contest the layup like they did with Draymond's,
38:07you get GP2 running over there to get the offense a rebound.
38:11Pritchard continues to score inside.
38:13Peyton Pritchard with 17.
38:15They're just content to trade buckets with you right now.
38:18You're down 19.
38:19You don't have plenty of time.
38:21Your time is running out.
38:22You got to start stacking some stops together.
38:25Gary missing that three.
38:27Draymond batted it away.
38:29Pajemski the rebound.
38:31Went post.
38:33Kata was there.
38:34So back out to Draymond.
38:35Look at the ball move around.
38:37Richard missing that three.
38:39I'll tell you what, Kay.
38:4110 of 40 on threes tonight.
38:43How about a great three-point shooting night against Detroit?
38:46You can use it.
38:48Yeah, that would be nice.
38:51Exactly half of the Warriors' shots have been threes.
38:54And Tatum dropping in a three of his own.
38:58Meanwhile, they're shooting 40% from three-point range.
39:02And the Warriors 21 of 40 on twos and 10 of 40 on threes.
39:10I've been impressed with the points in the paint, actually, hanging with Boston.
39:14Yeah, Boston doesn't get a ton of points in the paint here.
39:18Both of these teams rely on the three-ball so much.
39:22Tatum.
39:23Draymond closed out on him again.
39:25These long rebounds.
39:26Who touched it last?
39:29That will beat Warrior Ball.
39:30Warriors will get it.
39:31But it was Kata keeping the ball alive.
39:33I was watching Kata warm up.
39:35Talking about how athletic he is.
39:38He just kind of jogged into a windmill during his warm-up.
39:43But I was like, wait a minute, that is bouncy for a big.
39:46This is off Will Richard.
39:48I'm looking at GP2 on that replay.
39:50Did Gary Payton Sr. ever play for the Celtics?
39:54Yes, he did.
39:55In 0-4-0-5, he played 77 games with Boston.
40:00And they had the, they were talking about Porzingis, once a Celtic, always a Celtic.
40:03I don't ever consider Gary Payton a Celtic.
40:05I'm sorry.
40:06He is a supersonic.
40:07He is a supersonic.
40:09They're considering expansion in the NBA.
40:12Bring back Seattle, son of the club.
40:17Santos had the right idea.
40:19That ball was kicked.
40:20He was trying to get it to GP2.
40:22And Gary Payton has to be impressed with his son.
40:24And the career he's cut out for himself, thinking outside the box.
40:30We always say the little big man, the defense he plays.
40:33I think where Gary should get a lot of credit is six straight games and double digits, right?
40:38But so many, well, he plays off of Steph.
40:39He plays off of Steph.
40:40This was Steph out.
40:42Yeah.
40:42He's getting double-figure scoring.
40:43He finds a way to have an impact.
40:45He can play with anybody.
40:46His pick, like this, the cutting.
40:48There you go.
40:48Beautiful.
40:49Yeah.
40:49His defender isn't looking.
40:51They're occupied with Pat Spencer there.
40:53He's got high IQ when it comes to how he impacts the game offensively.
40:57He's always going to guard.
40:59He's just such a factor-cutting.
41:01Great guy to have on your team.
41:03He loves GP2.
41:04He's Derek White.
41:05This is that three short.
41:06And he can have great games offensively without having the ball very long.
41:10Yep.
41:11But his time of possession is going to be short.
41:12And it's always cut in there, get the ball laid up, roll to the basket, dunk.
41:17Skip pass to Will Richard.
41:19Touch pass to Post.
41:21Shot clock at eight.
41:22There you go.
41:23That's good basketball.
41:24Will Richard didn't stand out at the three-point line.
41:26Cut to the rim.
41:28And QP found him.
41:29Derek White fell asleep.
41:30So Boston will take the timeout.
41:334-58.
41:34Celtics have had the advantage.
41:36Special.
41:3728 from Brown.
41:3824 from Tatum.
41:40The way they shot the ball from three.
41:42The way they attacked inside and more of the reason that Boston will have won 8 of 11.
41:50Yeah.
41:51Their lead defensive team and they are right in the championship conversation again.
41:56Yeah.
41:56They're top of mind now when it comes to how people think about the East.
42:00Obviously the Pistons.
42:01There's probably going to be at least a few seven-game series in the East.
42:06When it comes to this squad, if they ever meet the Pistons.
42:10And yeah, these two guys and Jason Tatum.
42:14I mean, the way he was able to drive by Porzingis there.
42:18You saw in that clip after the hesitation.
42:19Warriors get desperate here.
42:21Going double teams.
42:23Omer.
42:23Yurt seven.
42:24Checking in.
42:25Keita scoring on the baseline.
42:27So that's the brook that Warrior pressure.
42:29After you break out of that pressure, you take your time.
42:32You're panic-free.
42:33You can score pretty easily.
42:34See, Keita broke up that lob.
42:37He's such a good defender.
42:38GP2 commits the foul there.
42:40You just mentioned Yurt seven came in the game.
42:44You know, he actually worked out with Pat Spencer during the COVID season.
42:50Really?
42:51So yeah, he's doing pretty well.
42:53So it's really cool to be reunited with him.
42:56He's very proud of his Turkish heritage because we were talking about favorite NBA cities.
43:01He said, none of them have food like Istanbul.
43:05Yeah.
43:05Speaking of food, I got to give it up, man.
43:07I had a lobster roll here.
43:10We're going to get a take foul here.
43:12You're saying the GP2 did not make a play on the ball as he bumped into Jalen Brown.
43:16So last night, I had a lobster roll.
43:19Usually, I like it warm.
43:21I got to give it up.
43:22Best cold lobster roll I've ever had.
43:25Really?
43:26And it was room service.
43:28Oh, no.
43:29And it was amazing.
43:30See, I went to the North End for Paulie's.
43:32Oh, of course you did.
43:33Which is on the Diners Drive-In and Dive show.
43:36Listen, you're bougie like that.
43:38You need like a nice diner.
43:39You know why I went to the North End?
43:41The Old North Church is there where they, you know, Paul Revere's famous ride, one-eth by land, two-eth
43:46by sea.
43:47The British are coming, whether they can put lanterns in the Old North Church.
43:50And getting to see that after being in D.C. and seeing the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument and the
43:55Capitol Building, I'm on a history tour right now.
43:58I get it.
43:58I just like to be chill and keep it low-key sometimes.
44:01But then when I walked out to the North End as that ball's off of Nate Williams, it was like
44:0638 degrees and windy yesterday.
44:08Well, that's a long walk.
44:10Now that you bring that up, that's the main reason I didn't go out.
44:12I don't do well with the cold.
44:14That is true.
44:15And you know I've never cold.
44:17So for me to say it was cold, it was cold.
44:19I walked outside.
44:20I couldn't feel my nose.
44:22We're getting a few good stoppages here.
44:24Yeah, the one thing about Boston, if you're ever coming here, is, you know, there's Faneuil Hall and there's the
44:30Boston Common.
44:31There's the Old North Church.
44:32Lexington conquered the shot heard around the world and started the Revolutionary War.
44:36It's the reason we have a country in the first place.
44:38There's so much here.
44:44Clayton Pritchard weaving through traffic, flipping it up and out.
44:48Oh, Richard, good defense.
44:49And did Cata touch it last?
44:51No.
44:52Give that to the Celtics.
44:53And that's the thing.
44:54The organization has always been super classy.
44:57I love the video they gave Chris Stapps Porzingis.
45:01And they just gave him a standing ovation.
45:03It was a good long video, too.
45:05Not one of those short ones where they show, like, two highlights.
45:08Jalen Brown to beat the shot clock buzzer.
45:10And this one will be out of bounds to the Warriors.
45:13Actually, it's funny.
45:14They got the wave going right now.
45:15But before the game, there's Brad Stevens there.
45:18He is the architect of this team.
45:20He was a tremendous college coach.
45:22He was a tremendous NBA coach.
45:23But he might be even better as an executive.
45:26And you've got to give it up for Joe Mazzula and the way his staff handled this whole year.
45:33And they were not.
45:34Steve Kerr said a pregame.
45:35They were not in the championship conversation.
45:37Well, Tatum's out.
45:38Al Horford has left.
45:40Porzingis is not here.
45:41Boston will be a year off.
45:43No one told Joe Mazzula and his team.
45:45Well, they have a high standard here.
45:47And no matter who's out for them, they expect that standard to be met.
45:51And it was met this season.
45:53Now they've got really high aspirations as your seven misses one.
45:56Don't waste any threes tonight.
45:58Save them all for Detroit.
46:00The Warriors are 10 for 41 as Brown puts that up and in.
46:04Okay, Joe Mazzula, you can take Jalen Brown out of the game now.
46:07I think he's done enough work.
46:08If the game is in hand, I think Aluka Garza is coming to the scorer's table for just that reason.
46:14Well, he can't sub the shooter in.
46:16He's got a three-point play.
46:17It's so funny, their banners.
46:18They have so many players' jerseys retired.
46:20They just had to go, like, one couple banners, tic-tac-toe style,
46:23and put all the numbers in there because there's just too many of them.
46:26Usually you see, like, actual jerseys or, like, one banner per person.
46:30But before the game here, we're talking about how—
46:33now they're chanting MVP for Jalen Brown.
46:35Yeah, but before the game, talking about how they missed Chris Stapps for Zingas,
46:40there is a kid behind us.
46:41Chris Stapps was working on one side.
46:43It was Sam Hauser on the other side.
46:44And this kid keeps yelling, Chris Stapps!
46:46Chris Stapps!
46:47And I turned around and looked at the kid.
46:49He was looking at Sam Hauser on the other side.
46:51He thought that was Chris Stapps.
46:52So I felt like I needed to help him.
46:54So I looked, hey, Chris Stapps is on our team now.
46:56He's not on your team.
46:57As they get a steal, Peyton Pritchard with the steal.
47:00And Pritchard laying it up and in.
47:02And the kid's whole demeanor changed.
47:05He got so sad.
47:07And I felt awful.
47:08So I had to comfort him a little bit.
47:11He's right here behind us.
47:12He's been yelling the whole game.
47:13But that's how much they missed Chris Stapps.
47:15Ball out of bounds.
47:16Boston turning it over.
47:18I'm going to do that kid a favor and get him a tape measure.
47:23Because Chris Stapps is significantly taller than Sam Hauser.
47:26He's very young.
47:27Give him a break.
47:293.26 left.
47:31And the Celtics up big in the fourth.
47:34Thank you.
47:35Open things up here in the fourth quarter.
47:38Warriors kind of resting some of their heavy minute guys right now.
47:42And the midway point of this road trip.
47:44Warriors will go to Detroit and deal with the Pistons on Friday.
47:47And then back to back.
47:49Detroit, Atlanta.
47:50A day off and then finish in Dallas.
47:53And equaling the longest trip of the year.
47:56Steph Curry is on the trip.
47:58And as is Seth Curry, by the way.
48:01Well, anytime you have two back-to-backs on one road trip.
48:06And it's the longest trip of the year.
48:07You know that's a tough road trip.
48:09That qualifies.
48:11They're going to be both of the Currys.
48:13And the passer on the 19th will be in Charlotte for Dell's jersey retirement.
48:20Little Richard missing there.
48:22Yurt 7 with the rebound.
48:24So, Dell Curry's number will hang in the Raptors in Charlotte.
48:27That's a nice lob by Malafie Leones.
48:30And Yurt 7 good hands to finish that.
48:32Yeah.
48:32Get Yurt 7 a bucket.
48:33He's on that 10-day.
48:34We want to congratulate Dell, too.
48:36I mean, he is Mr. Hornet.
48:38Yes, he is.
48:39And I'm just excited for him that that number's being retired.
48:42And I know how emotional he was as Garza tips that in.
48:46Yeah, they surprised him.
48:48I love the way they did that.
48:51But had him in tears.
48:52And I'm also happy from an off day that that's what you're missing there.
48:56Yurt 7.
48:57Okay.
48:57Dropping it in.
48:58Is that Dell and Seth can be there?
49:00Absolutely.
49:01And it's terrific.
49:02Yurt 7 is bouncy, man.
49:05Good play.
49:06Good help and recover there to get back to Garza.
49:09Made him pick it up.
49:10Oh, floater.
49:11Every big has that short roll jump hook right there.
49:16I mean, not really jump hook.
49:17Push shot.
49:18Garza 15 and 7.
49:20I think that's maybe one of the number one things for bigs to work on.
49:24And Yurt 7, he has that in his game.
49:27Garza has that in his game.
49:29Jokic has that in his game.
49:30Yeah, Yurt 7 had been in the NBA with Utah and Miami.
49:33And then a couple of years with Panathinaikos in Greece.
49:37Came back, played three G League games, was averaging over 30 a game in the G League.
49:41And the Warriors signed him to a 10-day contract once Al Horford was injured.
49:45And speaking of guys out of the G League, Charles Bassey, who was killing it for the Santa Cruz Warriors,
49:51was signed to a 10-day contract by the Celtics.
49:54There he is.
49:56I asked Yurt 7, what was his favorite thing about Greece?
49:59He was like, the food.
50:00The food was great.
50:03Malafi Leones, Pat Spencer.
50:07Yeah, unless the player is on a two-way contract and they're in the G League.
50:11Pat beating the buzzer but didn't hit iron.
50:13Any team can sign your guys.
50:15So the Warriors signed Yurt 7 out of the Rio Grande Valley.
50:18That's not their G League team.
50:20The Celtics signed Bassey off the Santa Cruz Warriors.
50:23That's not the Celtics' G League team.
50:26Malafi Leones comes out of the pack with Nate Williams.
50:29Lobbing it back and Will Richard.
50:31He will draw the foul, dunk it down.
50:34That was an impressive finish.
50:37Aerial assault.
50:39Shulga's looking up in the air.
50:41Is that a bird?
50:43Is it a plane?
50:44No, it's Will Richard climbing up your back.
50:48Oh my goodness.
50:50That's one highlight reel to take it.
50:53Well, not take home.
50:54Take to Detroit with you.
50:55Feel good about this game.
50:56So Will Richard.
50:57That's a nice pass by Nate Williams at full speed too.
50:59Yeah.
51:00It's a three-point play completed.
51:08Cycling around.
51:09Shulga missing that three.
51:14Yeah, day off.
51:15Then Detroit on Friday.
51:16The back-to-back against Atlanta.
51:18And then a day off.
51:19And finish in Dallas.
51:21I notice that Detroit and Atlanta are not close to each other.
51:24So in terms of back-to-backs, that's not a lot of fun.
51:29You're just flying.
51:31You're racking up frequent flyer miles.
51:33A couple free throws coming your way from the California Office of Traffic and Safety.
51:39We are human.
51:40We make mistakes.
51:42We don't see that red light.
51:44That family.
51:47But we can do better.
51:49Be alert.
51:50And slow the fast down.
51:52Go safely, California.
51:54Nate Williams has also gone with Kobe's.
51:57I think Kobe's are probably the signature shoe that has the most NBA players currently wearing them.
52:06Your shoe knowledge is so impressive.
52:10Yeah, I just, I used to draw shoes growing up and it was always like a fun thing for me.
52:17The backboard was moving and that's going to be a goaltender.
52:21Not allowed to touch the net and ring or backboard.
52:24And so as Bassey put that up, there was a lot of contact and the thing was vibrating and count
52:29the basket.
52:30That's a good sign someone touched the goal if it's vibrating.
52:38Seven holding up top.
52:40Pat Spencer cutting from traffic and Pat Spencer to the line.
52:43Yeah, Pat Spencer, he's going to keep playing the way he loves to play, which is cut.
52:49All that cutting, all that lacrosse, all that vision he has.
52:53Since the All-Star break, fourth game in double-digit scoring for Pat.
52:5723 straight games played.
53:00And he's one of eight warriors to appear in 50 or more games.
53:05Yeah, he's earning his place in the league.
53:08He definitely is.
53:09He definitely is.
53:10I feel like, I think he's got the Greek freaks on, the Giannis Antetokounmpo.
53:15I think that's what he's gone with.
53:17We're talking about shoes.
53:21I might do that pregame one day.
53:23Have you name every shoe of every player off air and see if you can get every one of them
53:28right.
53:28Just see how many I can go with.
53:29You're at seven.
53:30He's got the KDs on.
53:33Seven coming up with a deflection.
53:34Running with Nate Williams.
53:36He's going to drop it.
53:37Backwards.
53:38And that was a little too much unselfishness.
53:43Nate going to get it back.
53:46He didn't settle for that three.
53:48Playing the right way all the way to the end.
53:49That's Spencer missing that three.
53:53Seven hustled, but it went off of Nate Williams.
53:55But you just said it there.
53:55Playing the right way all the way to the end.
53:57I mean, this is, with all these guys out, this is the team's identity.
54:01We're going to have our spirit bar up.
54:02We're going to battle.
54:03We're going to play as hard as we can.
54:04And coaching staff also has a decision with the back-to-back Detroit Atlanta.
54:09What do you do and who plays?
54:11Yeah.
54:11Because some of the guys are not playing back-to-backs right now.
54:14Well, that's the thing.
54:14In some games in this league, playing hard all the way to the end will get you in a close
