00:03:13The only rookies in the month of March averaging 11.6 rebounds and 3 assists are Danny Wolfe and Cooper
00:03:19Flagg who might just win Rookie of the Year.
00:03:22Jose Alvarado had his fourth career double-double on Tuesday in his first start at the Garden and he's getting
00:03:28a warm welcome back to his home borough of Brooklyn.
00:03:30Tracy Morgan saying hello as the Knicks look for their fifth consecutive win in another rivalry matchup.
00:03:37It's Friday Night Knicks presented by Corona.
00:04:06Basketball is on MSG and it is presented by Chase.
00:04:09Tonight the Knicks in Brooklyn to take on the Nets.
00:04:11Great to have you with us.
00:04:12From our Delta MSG studios, Bill Pito along with Alan Hahn.
00:04:15Prime player profile presented by Amazon.
00:04:18We have Jalen Brunson.
00:04:20This is going to be his 65th game played this season.
00:04:23Alan, why is that so important?
00:04:24Well, now it unlocks his availability for postseason awards, which you would think all NBA for a third time is
00:04:31something that is definitely on the table for him.
00:04:33He's the seventh leading scorer in the NBA and he's the best player or one of the best players on
00:04:38one of the top teams in the NBA.
00:04:40Jalen Brunson, of course, missed the game against the Pacers with a sore neck on Tuesday night, but it's good
00:04:44to go tonight from Barclays Center.
00:04:46Opening tip coming up.
00:05:01Knicks and Nets on a Friday night.
00:05:03Knicks 45 and 25.
00:05:0520 games over 500 for the first time this year.
00:05:08Starting lineups brought to you by Genesis.
00:05:11Three of the last five games.
00:05:12Now Landry Schammett has started in place of Josh Arthur.
00:05:16Four and one this year when this lineup plays together.
00:05:18And three rookies in the starting five for Brooklyn, Traore, Powell, and Wolf.
00:05:25The Nets are the worst scoring team in the league, folks.
00:05:28Only 106 a game.
00:05:29Norman and Knicks give up 110.
00:05:31So they've got to come out and focus on their tenacious D tonight.
00:05:35Once the ball goes up, Jalen Brunson will be eligible for end-of-season awards like MVP, first-team All
00:05:42-NBA.
00:05:43Of course, he made second-team All-NBA last year.
00:05:46Yep, those 65 games.
00:05:49It's been a topic of a lot of conversation with the collapsed lung injury for Cade Cunningham.
00:05:54Scary injury to hear about.
00:05:56Hope to have him back soon.
00:05:57For Detroit as Schammett gets a steal on the opening possession.
00:06:00Brunson, Brunson, an open three from the corner.
00:06:03And Wolf pulls down the rebound.
00:06:04Remember, the captain missed the previous game.
00:06:07So, misfiring that time from the corner.
00:06:09He had neck soreness.
00:06:10Did not play Tuesday against Indiana.
00:06:12As Traore misfires on a corner three of his own.
00:06:16Here comes Brunson in a hurry.
00:06:1812th start of the year for Landry Schammett.
00:06:21Brunson got it from Towns.
00:06:24The Knicks have won 13 consecutive games against the Nets.
00:06:27Their longest active winning streak against an opponent.
00:06:30The Nets haven't beaten the Knicks since January of 2023.
00:06:34That's when Kyrie Irving had a game-high 32 points for Brooklyn.
00:06:37End of the Shockhawk.
00:06:38And Anobi threw it off the side of the backboard.
00:06:41And the Nets force a Shockhawk violation.
00:06:43Both teams starting out in disarray.
00:06:46Boy, the Nets turn it over.
00:06:48The Knicks, this time, the violation.
00:06:50So, the Nets will bring it up.
00:06:52Just saw Mike Brown.
00:06:54Why, if Brown gets a win tonight, it'll be 500th in his career as a head coach.
00:07:01Traore got it back, but double dribbled.
00:07:06Traore, the youngest player on the Nets, folks.
00:07:09He's only 19 years of age.
00:07:11And that's saying something.
00:07:12Because they are the youngest team in the league.
00:07:15Some sloppy play early on.
00:07:18And maybe some rust for the Knicks, Clyde.
00:07:19They just had back-to-back days off for the first time all month.
00:07:23Yeah, so they're a little effervescent right now.
00:07:26Each team has given it away two times.
00:07:29That is more typical for Brooklyn than it is the mix.
00:07:33The Nets have 16 turnovers a game, second most in the league.
00:07:37Zire Williams put too much on the three.
00:07:39Comes OG.
00:07:40We featured him at the top of the show.
00:07:42He's been driving to the rim like this at will.
00:07:45But good defense from Danny Wolfe, who we also featured at the top of the show.
00:07:49That's kind of focused on the defense tonight.
00:07:51Brunson underneath.
00:07:52He was hoping Towns would be there, but he found Traore instead.
00:07:56The 19-year-old slips inside and finally gets some points on the board.
00:08:002-0 Brooklyn.
00:08:01Yeah, he's another Frenchman.
00:08:03A lot of the Prince players in the league.
00:08:05He was a 19th pick as well.
00:08:07The body that's in the first round.
00:08:09Troy grew up in the suburbs of Paris.
00:08:13Brunson slips it over to Bridges.
00:08:15Extra pass for Schammett, and he drills a three.
00:08:18Shooting is all about continuity.
00:08:20So Knicks doing a good job that time around the perimeter.
00:08:24Schammett is the beneficiary.
00:08:27You love to see that from Schammett.
00:08:28He's in the middle of, or he hopes the end of,
00:08:32his really first three-point shooting slump of the season.
00:08:35He's dropped below 40% for the first time since October.
00:08:40The Knicks are going to need his three-point prowess in the postseason.
00:08:44There's Wolf.
00:08:44We featured him at the top of the show.
00:08:46Good closeout from Bridges on Drake Powell.
00:08:49And then he forces a tough shot from Zyre Williams,
00:08:53and the Knicks will take over.
00:08:54The offense for Bridges, it's had its peaks and valleys,
00:08:57but his defense during this last stretch of two months
00:09:00with the Knicks were the number-one rated defense in the league,
00:09:03Bridges has a lot to do with him.
00:09:04Yeah, you like to see that.
00:09:06Stay focused.
00:09:07You can help the team in other ways.
00:09:09If you're not scoring.
00:09:11Brunson steps back over Wolf.
00:09:13And it rimmed out the long two.
00:09:15Captain showing a little rust after missing the previous game.
00:09:23Drake Powell got around Brunson, met by Bridges,
00:09:27and a nice pass underneath to the longest-tenured net, Nick Claxton.
00:09:32Seven years for Claxton.
00:09:34He just signed a big contract.
00:09:37Four years, $100 million,
00:09:39so he's going to be very much the longest-tenured net.
00:09:44He plays the rest of that contract here.
00:09:46Bridges an aggressive drive, but couldn't finish over Traore.
00:09:49Traore pulled something.
00:09:51He's lifting up the court.
00:09:53Powell off the ball fake, met by Schammett, missed the bank shot,
00:09:56got the ricochet, and put it back up and in.
00:09:59Supreme effort by Powell, previously helping penetrating and creating for Claxton.
00:10:06This time, he's the recipient.
00:10:08And they like Drake Powell here, 22nd overall pick out of UNC.
00:10:12He's a cousin of Hubert Davis.
00:10:15The tough one for the Tar Heels yesterday, as the call-a-foul on Powell here is first.
00:10:21He's now started six consecutive games, just 20 years old.
00:10:26Had a couple impressive performances against the Knicks back in November.
00:10:30He had two different games with 15 points and three assists.
00:10:33We just mentioned his dishing and switching on the last two possessions by the Nets.
00:10:38And that's all they're looking for this year from these rookies,
00:10:40just little glimmers of what the future could hold.
00:10:42Towns couldn't get past Claxton.
00:10:44Oh, he spoke too soon.
00:10:45He got right around him with the ball fake, and then the put-back rimmed out.
00:10:49Oh.
00:10:51Oh.
00:10:51Towns are exercising futility.
00:10:55Traore streaking to the rim, tipped out to Williams.
00:10:58He'll set up Wolfe for a wide-open three.
00:11:01Yeah, he's got the infinite range with the three ball.
00:11:04Good hustle by Brinkley now, coming up with that shot.
00:11:08The Nets have 24 points the entire first half against Oklahoma City here on Wednesday.
00:11:14They're off to a far better start here on Friday night.
00:11:18Danny Wolfe and the Nets have a 9-3 advantage as the Knicks look to sweep the Nets in another
00:11:23season series.
00:11:27It's time to get back in the game, and Duncan has you covered.
00:11:30From late nights to early mornings, America runs on Duncan.
00:11:35Storied history is brought to you by Guinness.
00:11:38Take a look at the all-time series between the Knicks and the Nets, of course,
00:11:41including the New Jersey years.
00:11:43We mentioned it already, Clyde, a 13-game win streak for New York over Brooklyn,
00:11:48including the last meeting we were there at MSG.
00:11:51Fifty-four-point win that really jump-started the second half of the season for the Knicks.
00:11:55Yeah, the Knicks, two months ago, they lost nine of the last 11 games,
00:12:00and they faced the Nets and beat them by that 54, and they turned their season around.
00:12:06Biggest win in Knicks franchise history.
00:12:09It wasn't the biggest loss in Brooklyn history.
00:12:11They dropped one by 59 to the Clippers last year as former Nick McHale Bridges gets on the board.
00:12:17What about that dexterity by Bridges coming up the court?
00:12:20Moving and grooving nicely that time.
00:12:22Mike Brown said they left him in in a blowout early in the fourth quarter on Tuesday
00:12:26to see if he could find a rhythm, and he hit two three-pointers, and they took him out.
00:12:31See if it carries over as he gets a good contest on a Powell mystery.
00:12:35Captain has been misfiring early on.
00:12:39Not to start the Knicks necessarily wanted,
00:12:42but he knew Brooklyn would be hungry for a better opening after a rough start Wednesday.
00:12:50Shamit on the baseline.
00:12:53He reaches blunder by him.
00:12:55That's what I thought.
00:12:55They're going to call a three-second violation though.
00:12:59Rarely see that call.
00:13:01Yeah, Carl Anthony Towns is in with the call.
00:13:08The last game, Knicks only had nine turnovers.
00:13:11They're frugal with their turnovers now.
00:13:15Klaxon.
00:13:17Whistling a foul on Carl Anthony Towns before the shot.
00:13:22That one should not foul Klaxon on the perimeter.
00:13:24He can't shoot from there.
00:13:26Should give him room.
00:13:27He should never allow him to go around him.
00:13:29And Klaxon's only taken 17 three-point shots this year.
00:13:32He's made three of them.
00:13:34Klaxon averaging 11 points, seven bounds.
00:13:40And Tyler mentioned the longest tenured Knicks.
00:13:44Knicks seven seasons.
00:13:48Of course, Mitchell Robinson, the longest tenured Knick at eight seasons.
00:13:51Zaninobi breaks up a dribble handoff.
00:13:53Yep, as he's been doing the last two weeks.
00:13:56And a jump ball.
00:13:57He got tied up with Traore on the drive.
00:14:00And they'll toss it up.
00:14:01It's the second time now Traore has been doubled over after a Knick drive.
00:14:07Traore has had a tumultuous start after tying up O.G.
00:14:12Remember, Traore opened the game, turning the ball over.
00:14:15Then he got hit in the head.
00:14:16Gets hit right here.
00:14:18So he will jump with O.G.
00:14:21He's 6'3.
00:14:21O.G. 6'7.
00:14:23Traore credited with his second block of the game already.
00:14:31And the Knicks will control off the tip.
00:14:36And that's a focus on defense, though.
00:14:38Look at them.
00:14:39Look how they're contested.
00:14:4227th defensive rating in the NBA.
00:14:44But you're right, they're playing with some intensity.
00:14:46But a whistle and a foul against Zaire Williams as Landry Shamit's able to drive.
00:14:51Why foolish foul by Zaire on the perimeter.
00:14:55Right in front of everybody.
00:14:59Here's Jordy Fernandez.
00:15:01Second year coach for Brooklyn.
00:15:03And if there was a top prospect list in terms of NBA head coaches,
00:15:07he'd be right near the top.
00:15:08Only 42 years old from Spain.
00:15:11Despite just 17 wins.
00:15:13They love him here in Brooklyn so far as Shamit misses the three.
00:15:17Klaxon showing dexterity.
00:15:18All the way up the court.
00:15:20But stripped by Towns after going coast to coast.
00:15:23Bridges on the move.
00:15:24Shielded away from Klaxon.
00:15:26Blocking foul.
00:15:27And a trip to the free throw line for a decidedly aggressive McHale Bridges in the opening five
00:15:32plus minutes here in Brooklyn.
00:15:33Yeah, before Bridges good dexterity stopping and popping.
00:15:37About 15 feet away.
00:15:39And watch this play.
00:15:43Moving, wheeling to the hoop to get to the free throw line for two where he rarely
00:15:48goes to the free throw line.
00:15:50Maybe he averages two free throws per game.
00:15:52If just under for his career.
00:15:55When he gets there, he makes them 82 percent.
00:15:59Yeah, we were hoping he can have a big game tonight.
00:16:01He needs some confidence.
00:16:03Rattles in that first one as we bring you the recovery report presented by Orland and Cohen Orthopedic Group.
00:16:10What a game it was for Josh Hart Tuesday against Indiana.
00:16:1433 points on just 13 shots.
00:16:17The question always is how will they replace him?
00:16:20And it was a historical game for Hart, folks.
00:16:23Only three other Knicks have had 30 or more points and shoot over 90 percent or better from the field.
00:16:30And I helped two of those guys, Walt Bellamy and Will Streep.
00:16:34And the other guys, Bernhard Key.
00:16:36Pretty impressive company, Clyde.
00:16:38Yeah.
00:16:40And I read also it was an NBA record.
00:16:43No player has ever done that in the history of the NBA with the five assists,
00:16:48seven rebounds, and the five made three-pointers.
00:16:51Right, right, exactly.
00:16:53So a historical night for Hart.
00:16:55I guess this is why he thought he could take off for them.
00:16:57Of course, you predicted this would happen, Clyde, as Bridges didn't get the role on a fadeaway.
00:17:03Robinson into the game couldn't tip it.
00:17:04And you predicted that Josh Hart would say the only reason he had such a great night
00:17:08was because his buddy Jalen Brunson was out.
00:17:10Right, right, right.
00:17:11I think that would come in the roommates.
00:17:12I think that was roommate material.
00:17:14You nailed that one as Fox back rimmed the three, tipped out of bounds off of Clarkson,
00:17:19who checked in with Diora and Robinson at that last stoppage.
00:17:24That's a 9-7 Brooklyn lead, five and a half minutes to go in the first.
00:17:27We've got a sellout crowd here tonight.
00:17:29All the Knicks fans are out.
00:17:32Capacity crowd to watch this one.
00:17:34Great showing by Nick Fenge during that five-game Western Conference road trip.
00:17:39He had Utah, the Clippers, Denver.
00:17:43Very loud Let's Go Knicks chants.
00:17:45But here we've come to expect it in Brooklyn.
00:17:48Clarkson liked Utah.
00:17:50Big time.
00:17:5127 points a season high.
00:17:53The kind of performance that helps reinsert him into this rotation.
00:17:58Yep, he's back.
00:18:01There's Wolf.
00:18:03Pulls up from the elbow, and Diora cleans up the rebound.
00:18:06Wolf is one for three to start.
00:18:10And without Hart, both Diora and Clarkson able to play early.
00:18:14As Brunson steps in, the left-hand shot missed.
00:18:16Offensive rebound Robinson, he's got two already.
00:18:19Diora for three.
00:18:22Rebound from Ochai Obagi, who came over from Toronto at the deadline.
00:18:27Yeah, he's been somewhat of a disappointment, Obagi.
00:18:29Ben Seraf in the lane, 26th overall pick.
00:18:34They got him in the Mikael Bridges deal.
00:18:37And he ripped that shot, picked up by Robinson.
00:18:42Seraf is an Israeli player like Wolf.
00:18:47Seraf's out of South Africa.
00:18:49They made some history as Brunson took a hit when Denny Obdi was here,
00:18:53another Israeli player.
00:18:54Yep.
00:18:55And meanwhile, Clyde, the offense, as you might say, has been ghastly early.
00:18:59The Knicks are two of 15 from the field.
00:19:01The Nets are four of 15.
00:19:02And the captain, the captain is 0 of 5.
00:19:06Maybe this will wake him up.
00:19:09A little smack across the face to get going.
00:19:14Obagi on him, though.
00:19:15Obagi's a good defender.
00:19:16I mentioned the Nets have been focusing on defense, folks.
00:19:20Teams are shooting a combined 20% from the field.
00:19:23And Robinson traveled.
00:19:25That is the fifth Nick Turtle.
00:19:28Yeah, we mentioned last game, they only had nine.
00:19:31So, an inauspicious start now by the Knicks.
00:19:38Seraf now, marked by Clarkson, almost took it away.
00:19:44This is Johnson, who misses a right wing three.
00:19:48Chaney Johnson undrafted rookie out of Auburn, part of their final four run last year.
00:19:55Diora, defended by Malachi Smith.
00:19:58He's on a 10-day contract.
00:20:00One of my favorite names, Malachi.
00:20:03Rookie out of Gonzaga.
00:20:05Trying to post up Robinson.
00:20:07Josh Minock got a tip on it, and then it's out of bounds off of New York.
00:20:11Two consecutive turnovers now, Mitch.
00:20:15So, the Brooklyn lineup is five players off the bench.
00:20:18Obagi, Johnson, Seraf, Minock, and Smith.
00:20:22This is Malachi Smith.
00:20:24Chaney Johnson facing up on Robinson.
00:20:28Smith inside, tries the floater, and it drops in for him.
00:20:33Nice penetration move by Smith.
00:20:36He's a 26-year-old rookie, spent the last few years in the G League, getting his first real crack
00:20:41at the NBA.
00:20:42Knicks have turned the ball over their last two possessions.
00:20:45Down by four.
00:20:47Three and a half to go in the first quarter.
00:20:49Diora, catch and drive.
00:20:50We'll find Bridges in the corner, and he hits the three.
00:20:53Right in front of the Nick Pence.
00:20:56Oh, Bridges off to an auspicious start.
00:21:00Seven of the first ten Nick points, but it's answered on the other end by the former Timberwolf and Celtic,
00:21:06Josh Minock.
00:21:10He's traded from the Celtics to the Nets for cash at the trade deadline.
00:21:16Clarkson in the lane, tough shot.
00:21:19Rebound popped out for Minock.
00:21:28This is Seraf out high, doesn't want the screen, wants to take Robinson off the dribble.
00:21:33That's the wrong thing to do.
00:21:35Robinson shows him why.
00:21:37Forks the bad pass.
00:21:38Knicks have numbers the other way, and Jalen Brunson misses the three.
00:21:42Hustle from Clarkson, caught in the corner, trying to throw it off a Brooklyn player, and he will.
00:21:49Knicks continue to be ice cold as they need time.
00:21:53Still within four points, despite making just three shots from the field to this point.
00:22:00Slow start for both offenses, 14 to 10 Brooklyn, with two and a half remaining in the first quarter.
00:22:06Madison Square Garden launched a thank you campaign, encouraging all New Yorkers to thank the New York
00:22:11City Police Department for their service to our great city. All New Yorkers are encouraged to thank
00:22:16the NYPD directly by visiting msg.com slash nypd and submitting a thank you video. MSG will also host the
00:22:23Thank You NYPD concert, a private event for members of the NYPD on March 28th. It'll feature John Fogarty,
00:22:31Cindy Lauper, Fat Joe, and comedians Chris DiStefano and Sam Morrow.
00:22:37Did you do your video yet, Simon? Not quite yet.
00:22:42Time now for our trivia question, brought to you by Cadillac. Mike Brown, as mentioned, is one win away from
00:22:47500 as an NBA coach. He would be the 10th fastest to get there. Which coach reached 500 wins the
00:22:56fastest?
00:22:56Post your answer using hashtag Cadillac trivia. Was it Phil Jackson? Was it Pat Riley?
00:23:04Maybe Greg Popovich, Steve Kerr. You have to think about maybe a coach who
00:23:11overtook a team that was ready to win right away?
00:23:14That's why Kerr popped into my head, but tough to say.
00:23:19Somebody just had 500 or 600 wins.
00:23:23I think it was Kerr on the border of 1,000.
00:23:28And Anobi did not get the shot off in time. Mike Brown frustrated after
00:23:32a shot clock violation following a timeout. And the Knicks
00:23:36turned it over for the seventh time. Yeah, but that's the second time tonight
00:23:39they've had a shot clock violation.
00:23:41You rarely see two of those in one game. Yeah, we've seen a three-second violation as well against the
00:23:47Knicks.
00:23:47And some ineptitude as well by the Knicks tonight.
00:23:52Strong drive from Josh Minot.
00:23:54Fourth year wing out of Memphis took it right to Ananobi.
00:23:58Minot, why not? He's penetrating to do.
00:24:01You're always ready. You're always ready no matter the opponent, Clyde. Very good.
00:24:07Now Clarkson averaging.
00:24:09Yeah, but look how far the Knicks are from at who? 30 feet or more.
00:24:12Nothing.
00:24:13Now they're attacking 15 feet away.
00:24:16Now good defense from Minot. Took it away from Clarkson.
00:24:18Yeah.
00:24:20Another shot clock violation.
00:24:23Three already in the game.
00:24:26And they'll say Minot never had possession.
00:24:28So that's why the shot clock continued ticking down and eventually expired.
00:24:33Jose Alvarado looking to change the energy.
00:24:37Out there with Brunson, Clarkson, Ananobi and Robinson.
00:24:41Jose coming off a magnificent game, 16 and 10.
00:24:46Seraf got stripped by Robinson.
00:24:48Second time he's tried to take him off the dribble.
00:24:51Second time he's thrown it away.
00:24:54Terrible ball handling by both teams.
00:24:5714 combined turnovers.
00:24:59No shot.
00:24:59But now whistle and a foul on Seraf.
00:25:03And that's going to get Jordan Clarkson to the free throw line.
00:25:14Mitz Clarkson had the 27 points at Utah back into the rotation.
00:25:19He's averaging 15 points a game over the last four contests
00:25:23as he gets a friendly roll on the first free throw.
00:25:26Caesars Sportsbook presents tonight's advanced statistics.
00:25:29Jose Alvarado had 10 assists on Tuesday in his first start as a Knick.
00:25:34And that was the fifth most all time for a Knick debut start.
00:25:41And he only had one turnover.
00:25:43Filling in for the captain doing an excellent job.
00:25:46He's back in Brooklyn.
00:25:47He was born and raised in the neighborhood of Williamsburg,
00:25:50just north of here.
00:25:51We're in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn tonight.
00:25:56Robinson gets the rebound after the missed three from Abadji.
00:25:59Well, two free throws from Clarkson.
00:26:01Knicks down four.
00:26:04Alley-oop from Andanova to Robinson.
00:26:06They've had a nice connection in that department lately, but not that time.
00:26:11Abadji lost it, but a blocking foul called on Brunson.
00:26:14The shot will not count, so no free throws for Brooklyn.
00:26:19Let's see it.
00:26:21Abadji, you mentioned, highly touted coming out of Kansas.
00:26:26But it's not found his niche in the NBA, previously with the Raptors.
00:26:30Yeah, last year with Toronto, if you looked early in the season at the
00:26:34league leaders and corner three-pointers, you had Bridges and Anobi and Abadji.
00:26:39And there's a three from straight on.
00:26:40And that gives the Nets a seven-point lead, their largest.
00:26:46Lethargic Knick team now, trying to get out of the doldrums.
00:26:51Can Jose propel them?
00:26:54To a cut in Clarkson with the left hand, he'll bank it in.
00:26:57Good dexterity by Clarkson.
00:27:01Jose penetrating, creating.
00:27:07Nine turnovers for the Knicks, they're most of the first quarter this year.
00:27:12No fouls to give now for the Knicks.
00:27:16Minot with two, he'll step back over Ananobi and drill a three at the buzzer.
00:27:22So it's the lowest scoring first quarter of the year for the Knicks, just 14 points.
00:27:27And they allowed 22 to the Nets.
00:27:30They're down by eight as Minot got it off its side.
00:27:32Minot has been dribbling, penetrating.
00:27:35Now devastating with the three ball.
00:27:38Another edition of Friday Night Knicks continues next.
00:27:41Yeah.
00:27:59The Nets lead the Knicks 22-14 after one.
00:28:03Time now.
00:28:04Knicks basketball is presented by Chase.
00:28:07Knicks down on the road in Brooklyn, 22 to 14, as we begin the second quarter.
00:28:13It'll be Alvarado, Clarkson, Shamit, Ananobi, and Towns.
00:28:19No Josh Hart tonight, out with runner's knee.
00:28:22Shamit starting in his place for the third time in the last five games.
00:28:26Towns powering his way inside.
00:28:28He'll score and one.
00:28:31Yeah, Towns open the game missing about three consecutive layups underneath.
00:28:36But watch this play.
00:28:39Would not be denied.
00:28:42A little finger roll as he goes to the line as well.
00:28:47He's made so many winning plays during this four-game win streak.
00:28:52Back-to-back games with five offensive rebounds.
00:28:55And in the two games before that, he had seven assists.
00:29:00A lot of little things adding up to what's been an excellent month of March for Carl Anthony Towns.
00:29:05Yep, finally getting appreciation he deserves from the fans as well.
00:29:11Smith on the perimeter, Towns almost stolen from Johnson.
00:29:14Last game, Towns played superb defense.
00:29:18Minot drives on Ananobi and finger rolls it in.
00:29:22Josh Minot, ten points off the bench.
00:29:26Play collegially at Memphis.
00:29:29So, he's been a nick nemesis tonight.
00:29:33Alvarado a tough two.
00:29:36Especially big cheer for him in his home borough of Brooklyn.
00:29:41Remember the last game, Alvarado had missed 11 consecutive three.
00:29:45Before finding that raise, making four in the last game.
00:29:50Serafa straight on triple, wide left, rebound Shaman.
00:29:54Nick's tightening up their tee now.
00:29:57See if they can get some continuity going.
00:30:01Towns with power inside and will draw a foul on Johnson.
00:30:04And it's a young and, they hope, promising Nets roster, Clyde.
00:30:09But it might be one of those teams that doesn't necessarily have a great matchup for Carl Anthony Towns tonight.
00:30:14Yeah, the last 20 games, Towns has found his range almost 60% from the field, 43 from behind the
00:30:21arc, 83 from the free throw line.
00:30:25And he's looking for two now.
00:30:27Coming off his league-leading 48th double-double.
00:30:31And he had 20 and 10 for the 27th time on Tuesday.

00:30:47Nets took a timeout.
00:30:49We'll take it as well.
00:30:50Knicks were down eight.
00:31:06Let's take a look at tonight's Kia card.
00:31:08It's the Eastern Conference standings.
00:31:10It's 12 games to go, including tonight.
00:31:12And for the fifth consecutive game, a Knicks win would bring them back to within a game of second place
00:31:18Boston.
00:31:19Now, the Celtics play at Memphis tonight, and they just tipped off in Tennessee.
00:31:24But there's some extra juice to this game against the Nets tonight, Clyde.
00:31:27If the Knicks win it, they will clinch the division record tiebreaker over Boston.
00:31:34That will be the second tiebreaker if the head-to-head winds up being tied.
00:31:38And if the Celtics come to New York and win on April 9th, then that would tie the season series
00:31:43two to two.
00:31:44Then you go to division tiebreaker if, of course, they wind up with the same record after 82 games.
00:31:49And the Knicks can clinch that tiebreaker if they beat Brooklyn here tonight.
00:31:54Yep, that'll be crucial.
00:31:57It's been so tight for the past month, you figure some of those scenarios are going to come into play.
00:32:02As Minot got stripped by Ananobi, loose ball comes to Clarkson.
00:32:06One of the few mistakes Minot has made tonight.
00:32:10Seven turnovers now for Brooklyn.
00:32:13Ananobi almost lost it.
00:32:17Driving on Johnson, and he did lose it.
00:32:19Minot will take it up court.
00:32:21On the move at Smith, and he finishes strong.
00:32:24They get Brooklyn in a five-point lead.
00:32:26Give it OG some of his own medicine.
00:32:29Forcing the turnover, able to capitalize in transition.
00:32:32The Nets now with 17 points off the bench.
00:32:36All five players, our reserves are on the court right now.
00:32:41Shamit, extra pass.
00:32:42Alvarado misses from the corner.
00:32:44Townsend Clarkson came together.
00:32:46Cat fighting for the extra possession, but he got stripped underneath, and it's going the other way.
00:32:51The hands by the Nets.
00:32:53Doing a good job of blocking out.
00:32:55Dominating the action now, so they will bring it up.
00:33:01Already three offensive rebounds for Carl Anthony Towns.
00:33:09Obagi pops out for a wide open three.
00:33:12Nick's got away with one there.
00:33:14We'll bring in bridges and Robinson at the next whistle.
00:33:17As Alvarado is trying to spark this team, but missed the shot, commits the foul.
00:33:23Previously he's able to score on a similar move.
00:33:27Also in disarray after missing the shot, creating the foul.
00:33:31So the Nets will bring it up.
00:33:33We saw something similar Tuesday against Indiana.
00:33:37The Knicks were up early 19-12, but by the midway point in the second quarter,
00:33:43the Pacers had a six-point lead.
00:33:44It wasn't until that 15-2 run to close out the half, which was led by Josh Hart,
00:33:49that the Knicks were able to take the lead for good.
00:33:52Minot, no hesitation.
00:33:54Robinson fights for the rebound.
00:33:55Johnson almost took it away.
00:33:58You can see the hunger for some of these guys, especially Johnson,
00:34:03as Towns has called for his second foul.
00:34:05Josh Minot looking to prove himself here with his new team, able to draw the foul.
00:34:10But Minot only a second-round draft choice for the season.
00:34:14And we mentioned out of Memphis creating havoc now for the Knicks.
00:34:19Only his tenth game with the Nets.
00:34:24Next lineup is Alvarado, Shamit, Bridges, and they will go double bigs with Robinson and Towns.
00:34:31We've seen a little bit more of this lately.
00:34:34Yeah, they've had success with the big lineup.
00:34:41Abadji, catch and drive, met by Robinson.
00:34:43Ball came loose, out of bounds, off of Brooklyn.
00:34:45That was good verticality at the rim from Mitchell Robinson.
00:34:49Now they're going to take a look.
00:34:50But Jordy Fernandez disagrees.
00:34:52He thought Robinson went from A to B.
00:34:54Let's take one look as we go to break.
00:35:01Oh, it's Nick Ball, clearly, off Abadji.
00:35:31Welcome back to Friday Night Knicks, presented by Corona.
00:35:34You're listening to Live to Fight Another Day by Carl.
00:35:40Let's take one quick look at what they just reviewed.
00:35:44And they said unsuccessful challenge.
00:35:46No foul on Robinson.
00:35:47And as you said, Clyde, clearly out on Abadji.
00:35:49Yep.
00:35:50The D by Rob, so the Knicks will bring it up.
00:35:54That may have been the fastest challenge we've seen in the NBA this year.
00:35:58Jordy Fernandez, who is still debating the call at the top of your screen,
00:36:01and immediately twirled the finger.
00:36:04Did not look back down the bench to see if his review expert had an opinion.
00:36:10Great verticality, indeed, by Robinson.
00:36:13As Towns got pushed off the spot by Minot.
00:36:15They'll call the foul.
00:36:16Anemic shooting, folks, by the Knicks.
00:36:18They are 25% from two- and three-point range thus far.
00:36:23And look at that score, Tyler.
00:36:2521-26, and we are into the second quarter.
00:36:28That's the third foul already in this quarter by Brooklyn,
00:36:32so maybe the Knicks can find a rhythm at the foul line.
00:36:34As Alvarado finds a spot, and he misses the jumper.
00:36:39Bridges up top.
00:36:41Alvarado in the corner this time.
00:36:42He's got all night.
00:36:46Williams the rebound.
00:36:47Mention Alvarado had missed 11 consecutive into the last game.
00:36:51Been firing there a couple of times.
00:36:54Minot the hot hand, and that one got glass from the corner.
00:36:58That's almost impossible.
00:37:01A little serendipity for Minot.
00:37:04I call that a lot of serendipity.
00:37:09It's an eight-point lead for the Nets, their largest of the game.
00:37:14We mentioned the Knicks offensive futility.
00:37:17It continues.
00:37:19Towns taking it to Claxton, missed the shot, rebound available.
00:37:23Towns again got pulled down by Claxton.
00:37:26And another trip to the free throw line for Towns,
00:37:28where he's three out of three tonight.
00:37:30Good perseverance by Towns, so.
00:37:34Let's take a look at Minot.
00:37:36Why not take another look at it?
00:37:39Minot has been getting it on.
00:37:42Look at the banking and thinking of that play.
00:37:45So he'll take it.
00:37:47So it's the Knicks of 7-7 from the free throw line.
00:37:51Towns looking for two more.
00:37:53Physics was my worst subject in school, Clyde.
00:37:55I have no explanation for how that shot went in.
00:37:57I know.
00:38:00We should ask our esteemed analyst Monica McNutt.
00:38:04She banked in three-pointers on purpose at Georgetown in college.
00:38:07Oh, yeah.
00:38:08She did pretty well at that.
00:38:09Not from that distance.
00:38:11Probably not from that spot.
00:38:12You're right.
00:38:13As Brunson will check into the game,
00:38:16the second-best first-quarter scorer in the league behind Luka Doncic
00:38:20was 0 for 4, did not score a point in the first 12 minutes.
00:38:23Yep, showing some rust after missing the previous game.
00:38:28Speaking of Doncic, she had 60 points in Miami last night.
00:38:32And the Lakers, who beat the Knicks a couple weeks ago,
00:38:36they haven't lost since.
00:38:37Eight wins in a row for LA.
00:38:39There's Monica on the left and our esteemed play-by-play radio voice
00:38:43and host Pat O'Keefe on the right.
00:38:46Pat O'Keefe had an incredible St. Patrick's Day, as he always does.
00:38:50And you and Mike look great, Clyde, in your green,
00:38:53as Mikael Bridges took the worst of that,
00:38:56but he's going to get hit with a foul call, his first.
00:39:01Bridges obliterated by the Nets that time.
00:39:04He's walking it off.
00:39:07He's still got the team-high seven points tied with Towns.
00:39:12Knicks down six, just under five minutes gone by in the second quarter.
00:39:16They get a wide-open three, do the Nets for Obagi, and he drills it.
00:39:22That's been problematic for the Knicks all season.
00:39:24The three ball, making them and contesting them.
00:39:29Both of these teams take about 39 three-pointers a game,
00:39:32as Brunson gets on the board with a step back two.
00:39:35A defiant Brunson that time would not be denied.
00:39:41Laxton trying to footwork his way around Robinson,
00:39:44much easier said than done at Mitchell Robinson with his second steal.
00:39:51The captain looking for more.
00:39:53Maybe we can keep it going, two-man game with Towns.
00:39:56Look at the deep out of Nets.
00:39:59Towns on Claxton, good match up here, blocked by Claxton.
00:40:02Meenard, why not?
00:40:06Williams in the corner.
00:40:10Rebound, Shannon.
00:40:11Again, the game is getting a pace now.
00:40:14Towns one for six from the field, make it one for seven,
00:40:17despite some contact there, no whistle.
00:40:19And here comes the eyes.
00:40:22Zaire.
00:40:24Robinson call for the foul.
00:40:26Crowd in a frenzy in the last minute.
00:40:31Nick fans are irate with the call, but we're obviously a good defense.
00:40:36Swiffering Claxton.
00:40:39And then, right here, the Knicks fans wanted a foul, but why not?
00:40:46Again, ubiquitous denying the Knicks and Towns.
00:40:49Protect the paint is brought to you by Volvo Cars.
00:40:53That's why the Knicks fans are buoy.
00:40:56I think they're not getting the calls now, so does Towns.
00:40:59He's been playing with two fouls for most of the second quarter.
00:41:02Yeah, looks like he's headed to the bench.
00:41:06I remember his first basket, or his only field goal, was a three-point play.
00:41:10They posted him up.
00:41:12He got right to the paint for an easy bucket, but things have been much more difficult since then.
00:41:18Not hard to find a Knicks fan tonight.
00:41:20And that fan right there in a Karl-Anthony Towns jersey, he's got a front row seat,
00:41:24and he got an autograph from Kat earlier today during the shoot-around,
00:41:28and they just teed up his favorite player, Karl-Anthony Towns, who's hit with a tech.
00:41:34He's got a strong run, he's got a great play.
00:41:41Williams hits the technical free throw.
00:41:44A disappointing start to that young man's Friday night Knicks.
00:41:50Yep, his favorite player in disarray.
00:41:53Too loquacious, too animated.
00:41:56That's to regain his composure.
00:41:58It's his fifth technical of the year, Karl-Anthony Towns.
00:42:11He's got a great play, Karl-Anthony Towns.
00:42:12Williams showing good composure from the line.
00:42:17The Knicks are down by 10 to the 17-win Brooklyn Nets, who just recently dropped into the bottom three
00:42:24in the league,
00:42:25because the Sacramento Kings have won a few games the last couple nights.
00:42:32Brunson with good defense from Powell, tough fade away.
00:42:37Tipped by Robinson, collected by Wolfe.
00:42:40Remember, Brooklyn scored just 24 points in the first half on Wednesday,
00:42:44and quick hands from Ananobi got the block.
00:42:46Hit the ball to the middle of the court.
00:42:56He's already set a Nets franchise record with three deflections per game,
00:43:01and that leads to a steal and a slam.
00:43:03He's six with eight, good range, good anticipation now.
00:43:07The O.R. skipped to Dan Ananobi, tough fake and a baseline drive, and a good finish,
00:43:12around and down over Nick Claxton.
00:43:15And this pace now, you're seeing some NBA action now.
00:43:20The O.R. got a fingertip on it, but the call the goaltend,
00:43:23count the basket for Williams.
00:43:25Williams starting to move and groove, slicing dice, creating havoc for the Knicks now.
00:43:33Final five minutes, opening half of the Knicks trail by 12.
00:43:38Williams has seven points in the last minute.
00:43:41D.O.R. corner three, got it, and the Knicks needed it.
00:43:44Muhammad D.O.R. 18 of 26 from the corners this year.
00:43:48Yeah, the corner 22 feet away, he likes it there with the switch.
00:43:53That's his first basket.
00:43:56Danny Wolfe has stepped beyond the arc, can't answer.
00:44:00But an offensive rebound, Traorex.
00:44:02He'd like the guards to get those deep rebounds.
00:44:05Wolfe takes advantage of the second opportunity, and it's right back to a 12-point lead.
00:44:11Nets dishing and switching now.
00:44:13Remember, the guards got to get the deep rebounds.
00:44:16Brunson, got to try to corral those deep rebounds.
00:44:20Robinson off the catch, throws it up and in, plus a foul.
00:44:25Nice backdoor play by Rob.
00:44:27Rob Wolfe is the perpetrator.
00:44:32Robinson going to the line for one as well.
00:44:36So both teams dishing and switching now, moving and grooving.
00:44:40Good defense.
00:44:41Williams, the catalyst for the Nets.
00:44:44Robinson doing a good job propelling the Knicks.
00:44:47Second foul on Wolfe.
00:44:49Josh Minot has two fouls as well, part of why he's out of the game,
00:44:53despite his game-high 13 points in just 10 minutes.
00:44:59Robinson shooting about 40% from the line this year.
00:45:02Missed that one.
00:45:03But he's made it a 10-point game.
00:45:09Traorex with ridges on his hip.
00:45:10Into the corner for Williams.
00:45:11He's been hot, and he stays hot for the three-pointer.
00:45:15It's not an aberration for this kid, folks.
00:45:17He was the foremost number one pick coming out of college.
00:45:22Now his fifth year out of Stanford.
00:45:24Brunson, Euro in the lane.
00:45:26Tough pass is handled by Shaman.
00:45:28Back to Brunson, who's stuck on two points at Ananobi.
00:45:31Missing a three.
00:45:32Fight for the rebound, and they're going to call a foul on Claxton.
00:45:36Holden Robinson that time.
00:45:38Robinson averaging four offensive bounds a game.
00:45:42Doing a good job here to give the Knicks a second opportunity.
00:45:44But that will mean free throws for Robinson as the Nets are over the limit.
00:45:50Robinson doesn't want to go to the line.
00:45:52Previously bricked one.
00:45:54Has two coming now.
00:45:57There really have not been any easy nights for the Knicks, Clyde,
00:46:01during this seven-game stretch of what's supposed to be a favorable schedule.
00:46:05But they found a way.
00:46:07Utah, Golden State, Indiana twice.
00:46:11And now they're going to have to grind out another win
00:46:14against a team that's down toward the bottom of the standings.
00:46:18They've dominated for the last two years.
00:46:21A well-deserved friendly role for Mitchell Robinson.

00:46:39Cheers and applause for Mitch as he made the free throw.
00:46:44When you work as hard as he's worked at the foul line,
00:46:47you're owed a few rolls like that first one.
00:46:50He's made it a 12-point game now.
00:46:55Traore.
00:46:56That's by Robinson.
00:46:58Oh!
00:46:58Nice footwork with the rookie.
00:46:59Missed the shot.
00:47:00Yeah.
00:47:02Sweet move.
00:47:03Now over the top, Robinson got hit hard from behind by Traore.
00:47:07They might take a look at this one.
00:47:09Robinson puts his finger in somebody's face,
00:47:11and we've got ourselves a Downybrook.
00:47:14So Raore's hurt though, folks.
00:47:16He did a cartwheel landing on the floor going full speed.
00:47:20Nice job by Mikael Bridges and Company to help break it up.
00:47:24You can see why Robinson was upset.
00:47:28You can see that crowd on their feet, obviously.
00:47:32Good job by both benches retaining the players.
00:47:37And now we'll take a look.
00:47:44Watch the bar right there, folks.
00:47:47Ooh.
00:47:47He was still grabbing his shorts as he came down.
00:47:50Yeah, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was.
00:47:53It was Danny Wolf who grabbed Robinson trying to calm him down,
00:47:58but it had the opposite effect.
00:48:04I don't really see a foul.
00:48:06Looked like a jump ball scenario to me.
00:48:10Well, you wonder if Traore, his left hand might have had some leverage on
00:48:15Robinson's back and then grabbing the jersey on his way down.
00:48:19And maybe that was trying to brace himself from a hard fall.
00:48:22But you could see why Robinson wasn't happy with what transpired.
00:48:27Right.
00:48:27With all of his injuries, he does not want to get injured in a scenario like that.
00:48:33And, of course, Traore, he was trying to foul hard to avoid an easy basket
00:48:37and send Robinson back to the free throw line.
00:48:39A lot of teams are trying to do that.
00:48:43Robinson, usually a pretty mild-mannered guy.
00:48:46Takes a lot to rile him up.
00:48:49So we finally got some action going in this game.
00:48:52That's the leading pace.
00:48:54Williams doing an excellent job for the Nets.
00:48:58So the Knicks continue to play catch up.
00:49:01Robinson's gonna get this guy.
00:49:05All right, let's see.
00:49:07Eight rebounds for Robinson, three points.
00:49:09And he's one of three from the free throw line.
00:49:11And they are indeed taking a look to see if anything further should be added.
00:49:17They've already called a personal foul on Traore there initially.
00:49:19So, that's not going away.
00:49:25Didn't see any contact necessarily from Robinson
00:49:27aside from the finger point,
00:49:29but that's certainly seen as a potential instigating act.
00:49:34There he is, Swan Howard.
00:49:37And Rick Brunson.
00:49:38The first $100 million player, folks, right there.
00:49:42He and Rick Brunson, they briefly played together
00:49:44with the Rockets about 20 years ago.
00:49:48Another Michigan man.
00:49:55We've seen sometimes slow starts for a team that's favored.
00:49:59Sometimes incidents like this, even if nothing comes of it,
00:50:01in the flagrant foul department, it can light a fuse.
00:50:04After review, we see that the play by Traore is just a common foul.
00:50:07Mitchell Robinson will go to the line for the penalty free throws.
00:50:10Additionally, we have a technical foul on Zyre Williams
00:50:12for coming in to the mix and shoving the player in the chest.
00:50:15Also, a technical foul on Mitchell Robinson for pointing the player's face.
00:50:18The technicals will offset, and we will line up with Mitchell Robinson's shooting penalty free throws.
00:50:25Okay, so offsetting technicals.
00:50:27And you were right, Clyde.
00:50:29Nothing further or of ill intent on the foul from Traore.
00:50:35Robinson and Williams both hit with teams.
00:50:43Couldn't tell if anyone came off the bench, Clyde.
00:50:45Of course, we've seen suspensions handed out.
00:50:48Right.
00:50:48They did a good job keeping the players on the bench.
00:50:51No one showing that type of folly.
00:50:54Isaiah Stewart of the Pistons comes to mind when you talk about leaving the bench.
00:50:57That was quite a set of fisticuffs between the Hornets and the Pistons a few weeks ago.
00:51:09But again, it looked like that might escalate out of control.
00:51:11So a nice job by everybody involved to keep it as quick and cool as it was
00:51:17as Robinson misses the free throw.
00:51:20Previously made one, missed one.
00:51:22There's one more coming.
00:51:29Here's Traore.
00:51:30The neophyte we mentioned on the 19, the youngest net out of France.
00:51:37He picked up a second foul on the play.
00:51:39Robinson missed both, but a new possession for the Knicks.
00:51:43Brunson's got just two points.
00:51:45He'll lob it inside, but tipped out of bounds by Williams.
00:51:48Knicks will keep it with seven to shoot.
00:51:50You've been giving kudos to the Nets for their defensive focus.
00:51:54Done a good job tonight on the D.
00:51:56Normally not their forte.
00:51:57They have forced 12 first-half turnovers from the Knicks.
00:52:01That is the most in any first half this year for New York.
00:52:08Bridges now on a baseline drive.
00:52:10Lost it.
00:52:12And that's turnover number 13.
00:52:14The Knicks have been averaging a lot of turnovers as many as 20 in some games.
00:52:20We mentioned the last game only nine, so they're coughing it up tonight.
00:52:24And normally a top-ten team in limiting turnovers.
00:52:27Seraf steps around, sham it, but missed a layup.
00:52:30Rebound Towns playing with two fouls.
00:52:33Brunson in a rhythm.
00:52:34Underneath, second pump fake was effective,
00:52:37and Towns throws it down off the nice find from Brunson.
00:52:40Good ESP.
00:52:42By the two dramatic, emphatic Knicks that time.
00:52:46Knicks fans coming alive here at Barclays Center.
00:52:49Can the Knicks come alive?
00:52:50They're tightening up their D now, forcing the Nets on the perimeter.
00:52:55Cal got past Bridges, met by Towns.
00:52:57Now it's Seraf penetrating.
00:53:00Knicks do it well to deny these dribble drives,
00:53:03but Wolfe got loose from Towns off the punt fake, and he lays it in.
00:53:06Wolfe good dexterity and agility off the bounce.
00:53:11And are howling here in Brooklyn in honor of Danny Wolfe.
00:53:18Brunson high-arcing bank shot wouldn't go, and if that's on Wolfe, it's his third.
00:53:24Take a look at the captain.
00:53:26He's been misfiring tonight, but he leaves the team in dishing.
00:53:30So always looking to get into the paint, duping, duping, and Towns will be the recipient with this sweet stuff.
00:53:37Tonight's energizing play is presented by C4 Energy.
00:53:41Then the captain, again, getting into the paint, creating havoc.
00:53:45Set the line for two.
00:53:47That's Brunson's first trip to the stripe, but overall the free throws are keeping the Knicks in this game.
00:53:53They're now 11 of 15.
00:53:55The Nets are three out of three.
00:53:57Remember Brunson's last two games before he missed the game tie?
00:54:00He had 29 and 9 and then 30 and 9.
00:54:04It's four straight games now, Clyde.
00:54:05Ray's had at least 28 points and at least eight assists.
00:54:09It's maybe his most consistent stretch of the year.
00:54:11Yeah.
00:54:13So he's trying to get back to that level now.
00:54:15We know he can be prolific.
00:54:17You'll have to turn it up in the second half.
00:54:21Very short on that foul shot.
00:54:2411-point game as we hit the final two minutes of the opening half.
00:54:31Knicks have a foul to give if they like.
00:54:32The Raff airballed the floater over Shamit and Towns pulls down his eighth rebound.
00:54:38Brunson in the corner.
00:54:39Takes a three.
00:54:40And he parries it.
00:54:42Yep.
00:54:42We've seen him percolate and devastate like this.
00:54:49Williams.
00:54:50This guy has been omnipotent tonight.
00:54:53A rare miss for Zire Williams.
00:54:55He's got ten points mostly in this quarter.
00:54:58In fact, all of them in this quarter.
00:55:00Brunson.
00:55:01Not this time.
00:55:05Trying to find the energy to respond to a slow start without Josh Hart.
00:55:11Johnson gets a look.
00:55:13Ribbed out to three.
00:55:15And Towns has another rebound.
00:55:17That's nine.
00:55:17Good blocking out by the Knicks.
00:55:19You rarely see teams blocking out these days.
00:55:21Back to the fundamentals.
00:55:22Towns back to the ribbon.
00:55:23And back to the free throw line where he is five out of five tonight.
00:55:28Towns is hellbent to get to the hoop.
00:55:30Previously slamming and jamming.
00:55:32Now looking for two more free throws.
00:55:40We've said this before, Clyde, but when he gets the calls that he probably deserves more often with his aggressive
00:55:46takes to the rib,
00:55:47he's really unguardable, even though he's only two of eight from the field, the way he can get to the
00:55:52line and convert when he's there.
00:55:53He's now six of six with ten points.
00:55:55Now that's a big part of why he's an all-star.
00:55:58Knicks summer basketball camp registrations are now open.
00:56:01Sign your player up to grow with the game this summer.

00:56:18Towns has 11 points all in this quarter and seven of them from the free throw line.
00:56:23Heading into this next lead now.
00:56:28And they're going to count that basket for Ben Saroff and a foul.
00:56:34That's his first bucket after missing his first four shots.
00:56:37Michael Porter Jr. approves.
00:56:39That's 24 points and seven rebounds there.
00:56:41Michael Porter Jr., their top gun.
00:56:44But look at this play.
00:56:47He perseveres there to get to the line if he won as well.
00:56:51Just the 33rd game for Ben Saroff.
00:56:54Spent a lot of time in the G League.
00:56:57Saroff out of South Africa.
00:57:00After he was born, and then he and his family moved to Israel when he was three.
00:57:07Nine-point game, final minute, second quarter.
00:57:10Towns on the attack, and he gets a soft-touch roll.
00:57:15Towns invincible now penetrating and creating.
00:57:2013 points now, that's tied for the game high with Josh Minot.
00:57:24Saroff on the spin, into the corner.
00:57:26Johnson, good contest there from Towns.
00:57:29And Bridges gets the loose ball.
00:57:33The Nets have no fouls to give.
00:57:35Brunson slashing.
00:57:36Ball fake.
00:57:37Got blocks.
00:57:38It'll stay with the Knicks.
00:57:39Good interior D that time by the Nets.
00:57:42Johnson.
00:57:44Let's take a look at how they converge on the captain.
00:57:48Johnson and Williams.
00:57:49So, good sleight of hand by Johnson.
00:57:52Johnson, an undrafted rookie out of Auburn.
00:57:56This is his seventh game on a two-way contract.
00:58:00Strong showing.
00:58:04They're going to post up Towns.
00:58:06Double-team.
00:58:07Passed it to Ananobi.
00:58:08Ball fake.
00:58:09Two Nets in the air, and he draws a foul.
00:58:12Good interior play now by the Knicks.
00:58:14Towns has been creating havoc.
00:58:16Now O.G. gets into the act, so he's going to the line for two.
00:58:21Ananobi's been so good at getting into the free throw line lately.
00:58:24He's been knocking them down a lot.
00:58:26With apologies to Reggie Miller, who said he was the guy that the Warriors wanted to see at the line
00:58:31on the clutch on Sunday.
00:58:32Before Ananobi made both.
00:58:33He's at 91% on five attempts a game during this seven-game hot streak.
00:58:39Stay tuned at the end of the half for the halftime report sponsored by Verizon.
00:58:43Bill and Allen will have your first-half highlights and the Emmy Award-winning Audi MSG 150.
00:58:50I'm sure they've been giving it to Wally tonight.
00:58:52Yes, as Miami, Ohio Red Hawks finally lost.
00:58:56They've lost two games all year, and their season is over.
00:58:59The UMass Minutemen upset them in the conference quarterfinals.
00:59:03And then Allen Houston, Tennessee Volunteers, they ran away with that in the round of 32 earlier today.
00:59:13Howie likes those Minutemen showing something.
00:59:16I never noticed the electronic buzzer like UMass as Robinson gets the block.
00:59:21Brunson to half-court.
00:59:22Heave.
00:59:23And after trailing by 13, the Knicks are only down by six.
00:59:28Well, it's been a rough night on the road in Brooklyn,
00:59:30but they're very much alive in search of their fifth consecutive win
00:59:34on another edition of Friday Night Knicks on MSG.
00:59:47Friday Night Knicks is presented by Corona.
00:59:51The Nets led by 13 late in the second quarter, but it's back to a six-point game.
