04:24you can levy troops from your clients

04:28Caesar spent a lot of time
04:29making friends with Gallic tribes
04:31or convincing them to join his cause
04:32without
04:34all out conquering them
04:35so what you can do
04:36so break that down for me
04:36so for newer players
04:38that haven't really got too much in depth
04:40with as minimal jargon as possible
04:42what does that mean
04:43when in your campaign game
04:44a faction can have a client
04:46that is an ally
04:47who is basically their servant
04:51when you are in their lands
04:52you can recruit units from them
04:54without having to have
04:55captured their settlement first
04:57to use it as your own base
04:58it's simple as that
04:59so you are passing through
05:00you decide you need to get some new men
05:04to help in your conquest
05:05and you go for it
05:06you don't have to keep on backtracking
05:08to your own lands
05:09or recruiting mercenaries
05:11that are very expensive obviously

05:13and this is fed back into the main game as well
05:14so if you are playing as say
05:15the Seleucid Empire
05:16you will be able to do this
05:17amongst your own satrapies
05:19nice
05:20which is a very nice little feature
05:22so who have you got to
05:23there is what 47 tribes
05:26well there are around 47 factions
05:27not just tribes
05:28we also have Massalia
05:30who are a Greek faction
05:32based there
05:33important to trade with
05:34they are quite wealthy
05:34but yeah for the most part
05:36they are tribes
05:37there are a few Germanic tribes
05:38over here
05:39secret ones
05:40well at the moment they are secrets
05:41they won't be for long
05:44and a few Britannic tribes as well
05:46up across the pond
05:48but yeah
05:50your job as Caesar
05:52is to either
05:52bend them to your will
05:54or destroy them outright
05:56obviously playing as
05:57Vercingetorix
05:58or as
06:00Bodioognathus
06:00of the Nervii
06:01you want to get as many
06:02to your side as possible
06:03confederate their regions
06:05basically rally
06:07rally everyone to your side
06:08before taking the fight
06:09back to the Romans
06:12as opposed to a civil war situation
06:14now
06:14you get too powerful
06:16and let's say as the Gauls
06:19you will have an escalation
06:21of the Roman intervention effort
06:23they are going to suddenly
06:25produce way more armies
06:26and send them into your land
06:27to try and stop you
06:29as you do very well with Caesar
06:31the tribes will make a bigger effort
06:33to unite
06:34and well you know
06:36stop you from destroying them
06:38and taking their freedom
06:39so we have got new Czech trees
06:41that's right yeah
06:41bear in mind this is a work in progress
06:44so not all the text is in
06:47or the icons necessarily
06:48but yeah we have the traditional text
06:49which you research
06:50takes a couple of turns
06:51you invest in improving a military
06:54or what have you
06:55then we have a more politically themed text
06:57so here we have support for Caesar
07:00in which case you're mobilising troops
07:03you're appointing generals
07:07getting support from Cicero
07:08that kind of thing
07:09and these happen over the course of one turn
07:12but they'll cost you money
07:13so you have to invest
07:14a bit of your treasury
07:17into usually getting bonuses
07:20to unit recruitment
07:24imperium itself
07:25which leads to obviously
07:27the situation where you're going to have
07:29a massive fight with the Gauls
07:31or a few of the Gauls
07:32against the Romans
07:35and yes each of these is themed
07:36we have support for Crassus
07:37we have support for Pompey
07:39who with Caesar formed the Triumvirate
07:43very powerful set of Roman power players
