00:43So our first game was Total War Battle Shogun.
00:46It was a strategy game that you could play on iOS and Android, so on your tablets or on your
00:51phone.
00:52You could build your base, deploy it and manage your economy with that, create your troops, control your troops and
00:58then attack your enemies.
00:59It was really well received, players liked it and we won quite a few awards with it.
01:10Kingdom is our next project in the Total War Battles series of games and it's really for us a big
01:17evolutionary leap in terms of scope and depth and content.
01:22The big change is that we have made it a server based game, so you play in an online world
01:29and you can play in that world whatever device you have.
01:33And you can jump from PC to Mac to tablet and play in the same world wherever you are on
01:39the go.
01:41Kingdom is being made by the Creative Assembly's digital team, which is a dedicated team.
01:46We work separated from the PC team and that gives us the freedom to be able to extract the DNA
01:52from Total War and keep that sense of huge strategy, tactics, but make it as accessible and suited as possible
02:02for other platforms.
02:09The digital team has really grown since we released Total War Battles Shogun a couple of years ago.
02:15There were about six people then and we are 20 people now.
02:19It means that we can focus on making a bigger, richer, deeper game with more gameplay, which I think is
02:25something that's missing from free to play strategy games right now.
02:28Kingdom in the end is really a lot deeper than Shogun Wars and it's a bigger scope because this time
02:36you get to create your own realm.
02:39And by create we really mean it because it means you can terraform the land, you can choose where you
02:45place your cities, where you can place your road as it is an online game that is persistent.
02:50You do that over time and you basically really create your realm.
02:57Total War Battles Kingdom takes place in England at the start of the 10th century.
03:02Set in the Dark Ages, it's a time of war and chaos.
03:05Lords are fighting for dominance while Vikings invade the land.
03:10You start the game as a young noble who has inherited their father's land, but the realm is in ruins.
03:15So it is your task to rebuild the kingdom, gather resources and raise a powerful army.
03:20In waging large scale battles against other players, you will ultimately try to seize the throne.
03:30Battles are really a lot of fun. They are short. They are 2-3 minute intense tactical fights where you
03:37have to use your troops to the best to manage to counter what your enemy is doing.
03:42You've got different types of troops. For example, if your enemy is using his cavalry to charge into you, you
03:48want to switch your spearmen so that they will be able to block that cavalry charge.
03:53At the same time, you need to watch what happens at the back of the enemy army and you might
03:57want to use your archer to take out, for example, the archers that are threatening this spearmen you just moved
04:03in.
04:06We really work hard to create a great addition to Total War, something where you can have your fix on
04:11the go, something where you can play for a couple of minutes even if you don't have a lot of
04:16time for it.
04:16And wherever you are, because it's cross-platform. On the other hand, we really want that it has depth on
04:23the long term and that you can come back and keep coming back, building that realm, building that army and
04:30in the end aiming for the throne.
04:34Yeah it is particular damage.
