00:22Grazie per la visione
00:30london we felt like the industrial revolution was really good opportunity
00:33where a lot of what we know today kind of comes from that time period as far as
00:37like technology is concerned so it seemed like a really good opportunity to
00:39start take science in the industrial revolution and really infuse it into the
00:43weaponry for for a video game we're in possession about time for us the gunplay
00:49you know while it's very much at the forefront of the core mechanics of the
00:51game we saw the opportunity to kind of go in there go wow like what would you do
00:55if you could take any science that they didn't know about and actually apply to
00:57our weapons you know it's something that today we can take for granted a lot of
01:00things that are developed scientifically are actually ending up you know being
01:02used against people as weapons so this kind of was you know it was kind of cool
01:06to see that may be happening for the first time here in the 1800s of our game
01:11the ps4 was an interesting machine to start working on it it gave us the
01:15ability to do what we thought was kind of lacking in previous gen which was really
01:19kind of crossing the boundary of believable characters in a video game we're
01:23getting close to really being able to kind of you know get out of the uncanny
01:26valley and let people see these characters emote and speak and feel in a
01:30way where you don't feel like it's a game anymore what now
01:33part of that was developing a performance capture process that would
01:38allow us to actually take those performances and really get them as
01:41genuinely as possible into the game so we developed very complex head rigs that
01:45are carried in the game our game characters are actually the same in
01:48cinematics as they are all the time so when you're in cover and you see
01:52that's the same guy same face same joints in the head as you see everywhere in
01:56the cinematics it starts to kind of really blur the lines between what is
02:00cinematic and what is game which is why we call the game film the whole game
02:03feels like a movie you feel much more attached to them if you kind of go oh that
02:08I can even get the way he feels just from a run cycle that's something that I
02:11think moving from past generations now I think more people are going to start to
02:14pick up on the fact that characters feel more real when even in game like in a cover
02:18system everything comes from motion capture because it looks like a real
02:21person doing those things you feel a lot more hunker down and intense when
02:25someone is actually acting like that we have a really strong vision for the game
02:29we just want to make sure that it's done right so we have an early 2015 release
02:32for the game and it's going to be exclusive to PlayStation 4
02:49you
