00:01Traditionally, building any sort of server technology has been pretty difficult for any developer.
00:05Game developers, in particular, like to focus on the creative aspect of the game
00:08and build more around the core game.
00:12So from a server perspective, we saw cloud computing as an opportunity
00:16to introduce hands-off, scalable, on-demand resources
00:20so game developers could focus more on the game.
00:23So what that means is there's data centers all over the globe
00:26and when you start up the game, it figures out where you are
00:29and what the best connection to which data center you have is.
00:35One of the advantages of cloud computing is the elastic scalability.
00:38The idea that compute exists in the cloud when you need it.
00:41It'll spin up a server, a dedicated server in a server farm basically for you
00:48on a fast connection with, you know, fast CPUs.
00:51It makes matchmaking really quick and then once you're in the game,
00:54it's a really consistent experience.
00:55You don't have people doing lag switch killing.
00:57You don't have host migration.
00:59You have just solid gameplay that's fair for everybody.
01:03If anyone asks for a server, just throw them a server.
01:05Throw them a server.
01:05Throw them a server.
01:06And then we replenish that pool from the cloud.
01:10And so when we need another one, we just grab it down, put it in our pool
01:12and hand it out to somebody.
01:14So it's this constantly available, you know, set of servers all over the globe for anything.
01:22You're doing well.
01:23One of the things we're seeing that's really amazing about Titanfall is the idea that a
01:27lot of the AI and the non-player character is actually powered by the server.
01:30That would not be feasible to do on a game that's client hosted.
01:33So they have this ability to adapt over time, change and tweak the game even after the discs
01:37have shipped without sort of interrupting user gameplay or, you know, making users download
01:42big patches and things of that nature.
01:44It's a more even experience.
01:45There's no host advantage.
01:46There's no, you know, kind of worry about who's hosting what and, you know, do we have to
01:50now reserve performance on everybody's machines.
01:52We can maximize what we're doing knowing full well that on the back end we have power
01:58there to take advantage of the game.
02:02For the first time, I think users are seeing why server technology is really going to make
02:06next-generation gaming that much better.
02:18or live games.
02:19Todos, even more people now have to cheat, power and squeeze are more frequently in the
02:21So what the requirement is when it summertime looks like, regulations remain
02:21So why even more people wish to try and keep fighting withations too much better, facts
02:21So you know, don't all of aceğiz time.
