01:00When you think of career modes in racing games, you probably think of starting at the bottom, working your way
01:06up, being the best, but you have to start at karting because they always want you to do karting.
01:13That's where Project Cars isn't like that.

01:17Because you can see in the background the historical goals on the right. These are like the main goals of
01:23the game.

01:30When it says historic, it means over your entire career you might achieve one of these things.
01:36I think it means that in terms of, you can see the little burbs at the bottom. For instance, zero
01:40to hero would be like a historic goal, like a Lewis Hamilton goal, who did work his way up from
01:45karting all the way up to being, at the time, the youngest championship holder of Formula One.
01:51But also, you could do none of those things. Like, you could just go and just race in a whole
01:55bunch of different disciplines and just see which ones you like.

02:01So next, like I said, you don't pick any of those.

02:35So, yeah, exactly. So zero to hero, you have to start here, at kart one, and you work your way
02:39all the way across these within ten seasons to be an LMP1 champion.
02:45I think it was the defending champ is, like, from tier three. So any of these. And triple crown. Actually,

02:55So, but these are all open to you. So all these kinds of racing are immediately open. So you don't
03:00have to start with rubbish cars, or, you know, slower cars.

04:13So the persistence... So basically, I'm going to... So I guess people are going to be wanting to know why
04:17this is different or what's new about it or what...
04:19So are you going to race all of the... Like, so now I'm locked into this championship. I'm going to
04:24race this season out. There's a calendar. There's social media.
04:27So I get updates from my team and it's going to work much like a career... Like, you know what
04:30I mean? Like, that's the format of the career going forward in this season.
04:34Yes, exactly. And, you know, it's nice. You get news stories that are sort of tailored in like a FIFA
04:40style way, you know, that you get sort of transfer news and just stuff that's happened around football.
04:47You get that here with stuff that's happening in other races and other disciplines. You get news and also, you
04:51know, then you see your name popping up if you win, if you have a close, you know, second or
04:56third or whatever, if you have a crash.
04:58All that kind of stuff happens. Then you've got your fan chart on the right, which also is like... Which
05:04feels really natural and like YouTube, actually, with people talking about it.
05:07I'm cautiously optimistic about my chance. Exactly, yeah. They are wrong, to be cautiously optimistic.
05:13Here's the season calendar so you can see there's loads of stuff.
05:17So these are all races?
05:18Yeah, but some of them also in other disciplines as well. So again, it's like, you know, what's going on
05:24in the world of racing.
05:25And you get invited to stuff if you do well as well, like invitation only events.
05:31And that's it, really. And then you're just on your way. So I think the biggest thing to take away
05:36is that just you can race any car you want from the start.
05:40So because there is a bewildering range of stuff in the game in terms of like different formulae.
05:46Yes.
05:47And different formulae, like different styles of racing, different cars and different levels of racing.
05:52So like, I guess, yeah, like I think that's probably why people want to know how the career mode worked
05:56and what options you had through it.
05:57So if I start a tier 8 and I get promoted, can I then choose which, you know, branching away,
06:03which one I go to next?
06:04So I get like, if I do really well in tier 8 and I want to choose like tier 7,
06:09I get to like decide which one I go into.
06:11As far as I'm aware, yeah, that's it. Like the tiers are, you can only do one thing, I believe,
06:16in any tier at a time.
06:19So in your career, you would choose one of the three things in tier 5.
06:22Exactly. But yeah, you're not just going to go along the top, you know, you're going to, you can branch
06:27off and choose different things.
06:29So you're the champion of all cars.
06:31Of all the world.
06:32I think that's what happens at the end.
06:34Yeah.
06:35So that's just quite a brief look at career mode in Project Cars.
