00:30epple the previous generation.
00:31We're a music studio, that's what we've been doing for many years
00:34and live music
00:36is like one of our biggest passions.
00:38For the first time in Guitar Hero
00:40we've spun the camera around
00:41and basically made it all about you
00:43being on stage performing in the shoes of a rock star.
00:47Doing that with live action video
00:49just takes it to the next level of immersiveness.
00:52What we've been able to do is cast
00:54real bandmates, real actors,
00:56real musicians and put them alongside you on stage.
00:59It's real people, we're on a stage
01:00we're in front of an actual crowd rather than just being
01:03computer graphics.
01:04That's something that's never been done before.
01:06What I think you don't realise as a fan of people
01:08is they're nervous before they go on stage
01:10and they do get a bit of stage fright.
01:12They don't know which way it's going to go, are the crowd going to be a good crowd
01:14a bad crowd and we wanted to try
01:16and deliver that and almost complete
01:18the whole Guitar Hero experience.
01:20It's pretty insane, as you can see.
01:22We've got this huge big robot camera thing
01:25you've just got to act as if it's
01:26your band member.
01:28For me one of the coolest things is the crowd.
01:30We wanted to give the player feedback
01:32without just being a score
01:34and one of the things we came up with was to have responsive crowds
01:37so if you're playing really well
01:38and if you're rocking out and you're killing it
01:39the crowd are going to be going crazy.
01:41But if you start dropping notes and start messing it up
01:43not only are the crowd going to turn on you
01:45but so are your band members as well
01:46because you're effectively ruining their career as well as your own.
01:51When we came up with the idea for Live
01:53we knew we had something really cool
01:55but we also wanted to go a bit bigger.
01:58So we came up with GHTV
02:00which is our always on playable music video network.
02:03This is a place where you're going to go and be able to play
02:05tons of music whenever you want.
02:07You can have multiplayer as well
02:09so you can have multiple guitars connected to play the game.
02:11It will give the player an opportunity to experience new types of music.
02:15On top of that we're really keen on discovering new music as well.
02:18We're launching with two channels
02:19and I think the most important thing about TV is
02:22it's a really broad place for music.
02:25We're trying to cover pretty much everything.
02:27At Freestyle we're huge music fans
02:30we've got a ton of people in bands here.
02:32The thing we're all passionate about is music is a broad range.
02:34We decided that we wanted to try and have as wide a set of genres in the game as possible.
02:38So you know we've got what you would expect
02:40we've got rock, we've got indie rock, we've got heavy metal
02:42but we've also got dance rock, we've also got a full female pop set in there as well
02:46which is pretty cool.
02:47Whatever type of music you're into
02:48hopefully you'll find a good few songs in the game that are really suited to you.
02:56Another super cool thing about Guitar Hero Live is
02:58we've completely changed the gameplay.
03:00A great deal of effort, a lot of different prototypes went into
03:03how we could change the button layouts
03:05and what more could we do with the guitar.
03:07We were kind of starting to think about
03:08if somebody does air guitar they always go like
03:11and this is strumming and this hand they're doing something like this.
03:14We wanted to try and give you something to do with this hand
03:17which felt a bit more like playing a guitar again but was still fun.
03:21So we have a new button configuration with
03:23three buttons along the top and three buttons along the bottom.
03:26Now you can keep your three fingers in place
03:28but you can move up and down and you can start to create chord shapes
03:30and it starts to feel way more cool.
03:33It also gives a little bit more depth to people that played on medium level
03:36because you're not having to use your pinky and get lost
03:39which is what we saw a lot of our players were getting lost with.
03:41In some ways it's easier and in some ways it's harder.
03:44And then on top of that for expert players there's way more button configurations
03:47and it becomes a lot harder at the top end.
03:51With GH Live and with GH TV we've got a real breakthrough in Rhythm Action Gaming
03:56and we're really looking forward to getting it in everyone's hands.
03:59We've put our heart and souls into this game and there's so much more to share with you.
04:03A couple of secrets. One of them is how we brought it to mobile.
04:06And we just hope you guys enjoy this as much as we enjoyed making it.
