00:00I think the box is on fire.
00:02Left a bitter taste.
00:03The rice is completely undercooked.
00:05Oh, I've got a fucking bum already.
00:07For Megan's team.
00:09It's nice to be on the water, isn't it?
00:10No. I hate it.
00:11A sinking feeling.
00:13It was vile. I just wasn't prepared for this.
00:15And in the boardroom.
00:16One of the worst performances in the history of this process.
00:20A bloodbath.
00:22So all three of you are fired.
00:24No way. Triple firing.
00:27I think he's clearly getting rid of the dead weight now.
00:375am.
00:41Morning.
00:43Good morning.
00:44Lord Sugar would like to meet you at Mars Volume.
00:46The cars will be outside in 20 minutes.
00:48Lovely. See you there.
00:52Let's go, Mars!
00:55Let's go!
00:57We're going to Mars Volume.
00:59You? What?
01:00You're 20 years.
01:01Well, I think the boys are going to be fighting for the spot of PM today.
01:05I think definitely there's a turn in the tide.
01:07So, I'm excited.
01:09Karishma, would you be putting yourself up today?
01:11For PM?
01:12Yeah.
01:12I reckon I give some people a chance to catch up.
01:14When I was PM, I won by a mile. I almost won the show.
01:17That's not true.
01:26Halfway, mate, not a bad start.
01:28I think it's starting to feel even more real.
01:31You get one mistake here and I think you're gone.
01:34You get one mistake, your turn.
01:35In Northwest London, state-of-the-art studio, Mars Volume.
01:42Offering a virtual backdrop and a world of possibility.
01:53Welcome to AMSFIR, the future of fitness.
01:57Go!
02:00Oh, insane.
02:02Run!
02:04London has been stormed by aliens.
02:08Oh, this is fun!
02:10To make it to safety, you'll have to reach the ballroom.
02:15Whoa!
02:16Oh, that's so cool.
02:18Jump!
02:19That is sick.
02:20Strike.
02:21Go on, 18.
02:2318.
02:25Foul.
02:26Stop it.
02:29Oh my God, it's the voodoo.
02:34Ah, you made it. Just in time.
02:37I see your heart rates are up.
02:39The digital fitness market is worth 1.7 billion to the UK economy.
02:46And a growing part of that is what's known as gamified fitness.
02:51Using these revolutionary VR treadmills, you'll need to brand your game,
02:57create an avatar and an introductory video.
03:01You're going to present your concepts to a panel of investors.
03:05The team that secures the most investment will win.
03:09And on the losing team, at least one of you will be fired.
03:15Good morning.
03:16Lord Sugar would like to mix the teams up.
03:18So would Pasha, Lawrence and Levi, please swap with Kieran and Harry?
03:30All clear?
03:31All clear?
03:33Off you go.
03:35Teams have two days to build and brand a virtual fitness game.
03:40Does it feel strenuous?
03:41I think, yeah, it definitely gets tiring.
03:43Sure.
03:44Before pitching to industry experts.
03:47Do I look legit?
03:48Go on, Levi.
03:49You know what?
03:49I could go on gladiators after this.
03:52First for both teams.
03:54So, guys.
03:55Fitness VR.
03:56Pick a player one.
03:58Who's up for project manager?
04:00Oh, I would like to put myself over this PM.
04:03I do indulge in fitness and graphics and stuff is my thing.
04:06Editing and all of that kind of stuff.
04:08Have you done virtual reality before?
04:09I have done virtual reality before and I do dabble in gaming and coding.
04:13I think you're the best fit as you have experience.
04:16I mean, I think, Harry, you've not been project manager yet,
04:19so it could be your time to shine.
04:21Yeah, I was about to say, like, fitness has changed my life.
04:23I love fitness.
04:24I run a lot.
04:26I don't know anything about VR.
04:27I'm not going to lie.
04:28I've never done it.
04:28It was the first time I ever used it.
04:30But, yeah, fitness is something that is a big part of my life.
04:32We have to vote on it, I suppose.
04:34Who votes for Krishna?
04:35All in favour of Harry?
04:38Cool.
04:39Right, done.
04:40I vote for Krishna as project manager.
04:43She's a gamer.
04:44She knows VR.
04:45She knows branding.
04:46It's, like, the perfect task for her.
04:48But people vote for Harry.
04:50Who goes for runs?
04:52Yeah, well, it's a pleasure, guys.
04:53Thank you very much.
04:54So I think we've got a really strong team.
04:58Backstage.
04:58I worked on a gamified launch for a product a few years back.
05:03Already at the controls.
05:04I obviously do like gaming.
05:06PR man Lawrence.
05:09So my idea for the game was for aerobics.
05:12Within that idea as well.
05:13You know how different apps have rewards for logging in each day?
05:16Yep.
05:17I want people to be rewarded as they grow with the programme.
05:19I really like the idea of actually people being able to get reduced life insurance.
05:25Realistic rewards.
05:25So if you're doing your aerobics every day, you get reduced life insurance because you're looking after yourself.
05:30So, Lawrence, what is the actual concept of the game so I can write it down?
05:34What we're trying to develop is something that can really get people into fitness and meet people where they're at.
05:37I've given you the framework to work within because I want you to use your creativity.
05:41I don't want to just sit there and dictate things all day.
05:44Is there anything from that that's unclear?
05:47Lawrence has put himself forward as project manager but I haven't heard him give his team any direction about what
05:52they should really be delivering.
05:54Apart from Lawrence's very broad and vague framework about a game filled with incentives including life insurance.
06:01Lawrence, can I really just quickly mention, do you think we know enough about how you want this game to
06:06be developed?
06:06Because personally I don't think we know anything as to how this is going to be put.
06:12On the other team.
06:14So my initial idea was running and I think it is the most accessible.
06:18All on the same level.
06:20From a gaming perspective, I think futuristic, robotics, like things that are out there in the future.
06:26The cyber world.
06:27The dystopian environment.
06:28Yeah, that's quite cool.
06:30Harry's team.
06:31We have a track and, you know, you're running your meeting obstacles.
06:36And then at the end you discover a final boss.
06:38Yeah.
06:39Getting to this is the goal.
06:41Defeating this is the win.
06:42Yeah.
06:42Well, what do you guys think?
06:43I would play that.
06:44I mean, to be honest, Christian's got the experience in gaming so I think that makes a lot of sense.
06:48If you feel comfortable win though, I think it's good.
06:50Harry has been democratic and he's listened to his entire team.
06:53I think if Harry can keep a thorough plan the whole way through this task, I do have faith that
06:58Harry will carry us through to victory.
07:00Have you given any thought to how you want the PT to look or anything like that?
07:04Next door.
07:05If we go for aerobics, I don't mind stepping in to be the PT for that one.
07:09Yeah.
07:09Personal trainer picked.
07:11So, to be clear, Levi's quite comfortable being the PT and that's something that I think is quite important.
07:17Project manager Lawrence puts people in their place.
07:21Is there anyone that wants to put themselves on the game development team?
07:23I wouldn't even know where to start even developing a game to be honest.
07:27Likewise.
07:27The only experience I have is home workouts.
07:30I don't have the experience in VR.
07:32Alright.
07:33I'm going to put myself on the branding team and I was going to take Levi with me.
07:38The game development is the essential part of this, right?
07:42With it being your idea, you being on the game development is make or break for how you want it
07:46to be.
07:46Yeah, I do.
07:46I just add to that and the game development team will be creating the fitness game, which is what we
07:51will be showing to you.
07:52I do understand.
07:54But you are trusting on us when we're still a little bit, I'm sure.
07:57This is your idea.
07:57I mean, both of you have an idea of what gaming looks like.
08:00Yeah, but this isn't my idea.
08:02I think I've put the right people in the right place.
08:05I think regardless who was on the sub team, no one has experience in building a game.
08:09So, whoever's there, we just need the sub team to step up and take some ownership.
08:14We've got Krishma as sub team leader.
08:17Kieran and Connor on the game development side.
08:20So, let's do it.
08:20Well done, guys.
08:21Let's go.
08:2411am.
08:25While half of each team gets a workout on branding.
08:29I'm excited to be project manager.
08:30I think, you know, it's been a long time coming, but I think we've got this.
08:33Let's do this.
08:34Bish bash bosh.
08:36The rest will build a demo of their game.
08:40I am quite frustrated, guys.
08:41I don't know if you can tell.
08:43Yeah.
08:43Honestly, I just feel like it was a bit of a car crash in there.
08:46Yep.
08:47This is his thing.
08:48Literally, he's done it before.
08:49Do you know what?
08:49If this is such a strong vision for yourself, why don't you develop it?
08:54Hoban Studios.
08:55Hello, hello.
08:56How's it going, mate?
08:57Lawrence, nice to meet you.
08:58Nice to meet you.
08:59Sunny, nice to meet you.
08:59Sunny, happy personality.
09:01Yeah, ready to go, man.
09:02Base for both branding teams.
09:04What's really important with a name is it's got to say exactly what it does on the tin.
09:09Yeah.
09:10First mission for Lawrence and Levi.
09:12I was thinking Aerobics Live VR.
09:14Power up a winning name.
09:17The couple of names I've got is, like, Go Get It.
09:20Okay.
09:21Or Go Get Fit.
09:23Yeah.
09:23I really like that.
09:25I really do.
09:26My only concern with that is, is I really want it to say exactly what it does.
09:30What it says on the tin.
09:31Yeah.
09:31Or could go on that, like, just house fit or fit house.
09:35My only problem with that, I completely understand what you're saying, but that could be anything
09:40within that.
09:40Erm.
09:42What about just Aerobics VR?
09:44Yeah.
09:45I think that's too bland.
09:48Erm.
09:49So, should we get it on the screen?
09:51We're going to go with Aerobics Live VR.
09:53I want Aerobics Live in black.
09:56No, I would have said red.
09:58I'm keen on the red, actually.
09:59I think that will pop.
10:01Can we stick a box around it just whilst we're here?
10:03Get rid of the box.
10:06I think the box makes it clear that it's a logo.
10:11Lawrence has got an idea of what he wants.
10:13So I've just got to support him as much as I can.
10:15Hopefully I'm just not being brought along for the ride.
10:17I don't want to participate and put some input into this.
10:19But we'll just have to see how the day goes.
10:21I think we've worked really well together there.
10:23I'm loving the synergy already.
10:24This is exactly what I was hoping for.
10:28Across the hall.
10:29I got raised to the top.
10:32Is that all right with you guys?
10:33Yeah.
10:34For project manager Harry.
10:36Erm.
10:36So next is our logo.
10:38A chance to take the lead.
10:42I was thinking we could have raised to the top underneath.
10:45Like this?
10:46Raised to the top.
10:47Oh, I like that.
10:48So we're happy with the logo design.
10:50We need to choose colours.
10:51I think when you think of cyber, you think of green.
10:53So green could be an option?
10:54I mean, I was going to go for blue.
10:57Maybe.
10:58Great.
10:58So I know you've both made your suggestions.
11:00Yeah.
11:00And I think they're great.
11:01Erm.
11:02I personally, I like the green.
11:03I think it's a sign of health.
11:04It's a sign of go.
11:05And I know you like the blue, Dan.
11:06I think they could work quite well together.
11:08Yeah.
11:09Do you think blue and green we could go with?
11:10Yeah.
11:10Do we agree on that?
11:11I agree.
11:12How about you?
11:13Yeah.
11:14Are you happy with that, Dan?
11:15Yeah.
11:15OK.
11:16Yeah.
11:16Can we try that, please?
11:18Harry makes a better team player than he does a project manager.
11:23He is not managing anything.
11:25He's doing everything by consensus.
11:28Well, a happy camp is good, but a winning camp is better.
11:31We've done well.
11:32I think it's a real team effort.
11:33Yeah.
11:33We've got something that looks good enough, I think.
11:39Parachute Studios.
11:40There's no theme.
11:41We don't have, like, a storyline.
11:43Hoping to hit start on their game design.
11:46I know that he wanted this reward scheme to be in place.
11:49But it just threw us off, to be honest.
11:50That, I feel like, will lose the people playing the game.
11:53I feel like that's boring.
11:54Yeah.
11:57I feel like there needs to be an overall purpose in this.
12:00We knew in the morning demo that we saw that she was fighting to get to the boardroom.
12:05She was peeling off baddies.
12:06There was an end point.
12:07There was an end.
12:07The idea of running away from a baddie in itself promotes fitness.
12:11Yeah.
12:12OK, this is just a wild idea.
12:13Please do disagree with it.
12:14Why can't it be, like, weird animals?
12:17Like a robot creature.
12:17Because it makes it more, like, exciting.
12:19There was a weird, like, alien water creature.
12:24And it's like, we're going to get raided by this alien weird creature.
12:27Like, frog monsters have just landed.
12:29And then suddenly, from the bushes, if you could get the frogs starting to come out.
12:33You're running for your life.
12:34Yeah.
12:35These frogs are coming at you.
12:36So why not just start it off with a bang?
12:39I think we're just trying to make the best of a bad situation at the moment.
12:42We left this morning's brief with absolutely no storyboard.
12:46So I think we're just really trying hard to think on the spot.
12:49But then, hang on.
12:50Is this getting away from aerobics?
12:52It feels a bit adventurous.
12:54Do you know what I mean?
12:58On the other team.
12:59So, guys, this is what I've kind of got in my head, right?
13:02Gaming fan, Karishma.
13:04Earth is extinct, essentially.
13:06There's, like, humans surviving.
13:08It's an apocalypse.
13:08It's a robot apocalypse.
13:09Absolutely.
13:10Races ahead.
13:12We're going to start off with flying cars.
13:14Cool.
13:14Collapsing buildings.
13:16We're going to have...
13:17Who's driving the flying cars?
13:19I don't know.
13:20It's the future.
13:21They fly themselves like Teslas.
13:23Scene two, we're going to insert our first obstacle.
13:26So he now encounters a falling building that's going to destroy his path.
13:30He has no choice but to jump.
13:31Scene three, he finds more robotic spider creature thingies.
13:36They're on pendulums.
13:37They're coming in.
13:38We're going to make it as, like, visually interactive as possible.
13:41And that will lead us into the final boss who will be defeated by one powerful punch.
13:48It's clear to me that Karishma is a keen gamer because she knows a lot about the elements of different
13:53games that make them engaging.
13:54She's storyboarded the idea, 99% of which the ideas are hers.
14:00I mean, really, Kieran and Connor should just wait in the car.
14:05Mid-afternoon.
14:07So our game name is...
14:09Race to the Top.
14:10Race to the Top.
14:11That's actually really great for us.
14:12What does the character look like?
14:14So we're about to start making the character.
14:16Just remember, this isn't a game for kids.
14:17This is definitely, like, 15 plus.
14:19So try to make this a mature character.
14:21Do not make it childish whatsoever.
14:23Hi, guys.
14:24Hello.
14:25Also at a checkpoint...
14:27How are you guys?
14:28...Lawrence's team.
14:30Stress.
14:30A little bit stressed.
14:31This is really stressful.
14:32This is very difficult.
14:33None of us have really designed a game before, but we're trying.
14:36Just to summarise, what we've done is...
14:38I know it sounds really silly.
14:39Frogs that are coming to chase you.
14:42Is there any sort of incorporation of the reward structure?
14:45Or is that just not possible?
14:46I know it doesn't sound like it with these frog elements, but...
14:48The rewards is, like, obviously, you're saving an endangered area.
14:53I mean, we've tried to incorporate a really fun game.
14:56I know that in the brief there wasn't much mention.
14:59In terms of the game element, we really struggled to come up with something that was going to make the
15:03aerobics fun.
15:05Yeah.
15:05All right.
15:05All right.
15:07Listen, I hate to pick out negatives.
15:10It's just the constant deflecting of, you know, you said in the morning this, and it's just...
15:15Just leave that out.
15:17Let's just crack on with it.
15:18Yeah.
15:20Central London.
15:21We need to have a think about now who our PT's going to be.
15:25Stepping through a personal trainer to front their racing game...
15:28We can literally create whatever we want, because nothing's right, nothing's wrong.
15:33Harry's Branding Boys.
15:35Dan, what do you think?
15:37I would go down the creature route and make it look very action-like.
15:41Gordon, can we just start with that, if that's okay?
15:43Yeah, of course.
15:44Oh, no.
15:45Get rid of this.
15:46At the moment it looks like it's about to kill someone.
15:48Obviously we want the creature to look happy.
15:50Yeah, it needs to be a friendly creature.
15:53Yeah.
15:53I think something like this.
15:54Yeah, an AI robot with hair.
15:57Nice.
15:58I quite like that.
15:59Actually, that's okay.
16:00Do we want to try and put a smart watch on there?
16:02I think that'd look quite cool.
16:05Purple hair and a headband to show that it's doing sports.
16:08Are they going to have a top on?
16:09Yeah, maybe.
16:10I mean...
16:11I think that could work.
16:12Yeah.
16:13I think, okay, that's done.
16:15I think we should reduce the, you know, the breast bit, just to make it a bit more flat,
16:19because at the moment it's a bit, you know, out there.
16:27On the other team...
16:28So what I'm thinking is a T-shirt with our logo in the centre of it, on a white background.
16:33Oh, mate.
16:34Yeah?
16:34When Lord Sugar asks you what you've done this week, you're going to have a long list to give him.
16:38I love it, yeah.
16:39Yep.
16:39Lined up for the part of personal trainer...
16:42Bosh.
16:42Yeah, let's just crack straight into the script.
16:44Military man, Levi.
16:47Hi, I'm Petey, the personal trainer.
16:50Great to meet you.
16:51I'm here to help you reach your goals, to give you more flexibility, more rewards and more life.
16:56So, in terms of the delivery, are you confident with it?
17:01Yes.
17:02Do you...
17:02I'm really confident with this in terms of sort of just acting out and talking.
17:07I'm happy to go ahead with it.
17:09Erm...
17:10When it's coming to it now, I have got a little bit more experience.
17:13I think I've got quite a neutral accent.
17:15But the main reason I was here was for this bit.
17:18Naturally, I think you want to do it.
17:20Yeah.
17:22Erm...
17:22Would you be alright with me pushing ahead with it, just cos I'm sort of quite comfortable with the acting?
17:27I would be a bit annoyed with that.
17:29It is a bit like a bit of a stab, really.
17:32I would be disappointed in your shoes. I would be disappointed.
17:35I am.
17:35I know.
17:37I feel honestly like I shot a puppy when I told Levi he wasn't going to be doing the acting.
17:42I think he would have done a good job.
17:43I just had to back myself in that moment because ultimately, if you don't win, it's my head that's going
17:48to be first on the chopping block.
17:513pm.
17:51We want two coming in.
17:53Yeah.
17:53It's like...
17:55While Harry's gaming crew...
17:57So right now we're ducking under the eagles and collecting our gold coins as we go along.
18:02Head for the finish line.
18:03We're going to work our way up the skyscraper and we are out to level two.
18:07Run, jump into the portal, level two.
18:10What if we just introduce the aliens straight away?
18:13On Team Aerobics...
18:14They've got to run to the first checkpoint with the aliens around them.
18:17And the checkpoint could be the place where they have to do the lunges or high knees or whatever it
18:23is.
18:23A glitch.
18:26Yeah.
18:27It's very adventurous, isn't it?
18:28So what would be your suggestion?
18:31Because think in the back of your mind, you're pitching it to investors.
18:34It has to be a fun...
18:35It's not just combining fitness, it's combining gaming.
18:38I don't know where this whole alien thing comes, to be honest, but what I'm trying to say is...
18:41So, Rajan, I'm going to basically just clarify.
18:45I personally feel like it sounds like you've got a little bit more gaming experience.
18:48I know it's not exactly this.
18:49I don't have a gaming experience.
18:51Just because I've played a game doesn't mean I'm a gamer.
18:53Yeah, but it's still a lot more than what I have done.
18:56You've baked a bread, I wouldn't call you Mr Kipling.
18:58Yeah, but...
18:58OK, Rajan, there's actually no need for that.
19:00Don't put it like, yeah.
19:01I'm just not a gamer.
19:02OK, look, I'm just going to say to you, I do feel like...
19:04I understand you're getting frustrated.
19:06All I'm asking is, this isn't my area either, but we're all trying.
19:10Absolutely.
19:10We need your input.
19:14I feel a bit drained by that session, to be honest.
19:17I did find it quite frustrating that Rajan, he will give criticism without giving any alternatives.
19:23I don't feel like he did enough.
19:25Instead of lunges, should we do punches in the air?
19:28So, guys, I am here, but you can ask me as well, Pash.
19:31Just saying, just saying.
19:32Rajan, if you want...
19:34I'm talking directly to Rajan.
19:35No, I'm literally going two punches in the air like that.
19:37No, no, but you're talking directly to...
19:38OK, do you know what?
19:39It's probably because you see that I'm writing.
19:40Oh, fair.
19:41Honestly, don't worry.
19:44Central London.
19:46Ow.
19:47With Levi demoted to director...
19:49Way out.
19:51...Lawrence steps into the limelight.
19:53Right, go.
19:54Hi, I'm Petey, the personal trainer.
19:57Great to meet you.
20:00On Harry's team...
20:01Just make sure that you have quite a wide start.
20:04OK, fine, so maybe have a bit more...
20:05Yeah.
20:06Playing a futuristic fitness instructor...
20:08Do you want to do a different voice today?
20:10I don't know if I should do that.
20:11But it sounds more kiddish if I do like, hi!
20:13Yeah, and they said they wanted not childish.
20:15Priesh.
20:16OK, so could we start recording?
20:18Hi!
20:19I'm your fitness cyborg personal trainer.
20:22The fastest runner in Cyber City.
20:26Along the journey, we will cross many obstacles.
20:30And I will see you on the cyborg track.
20:34Nice.
20:35It's good energy, mate.
20:39I don't want to see how I look right now.
20:42PTs perfected.
20:43Mate, what a day.
20:45It's a long day.
20:46I wouldn't have rather done it with anyone else,
20:48even if you did want to take my head off.
20:50For the gaming teams, a first look at their logo.
20:54Oh, no.
20:55Why do they go for red and black?
20:56It looks like a bumper sticker.
20:58It's not great, but let's put it into our game.
21:01Let's have a look at this logo.
21:03It looks like an old retro arcade game.
21:06I don't like the colours.
21:08I don't like the font.
21:09I don't like anything about it.
21:10I think it's absolutely useless.
21:11One of the worst logos I've ever seen.
21:15Tomorrow, pitch to investors.
21:238am.
21:25For both teams.
21:27Hi, I'm Petey, your personal trainer.
21:30A replay.
21:32Don't worry.
21:33I'll be here to guide you every step of the way.
21:35So, what are you waiting for?
21:38Let's go.
21:39So, Levi didn't do any exercises in that?
21:43My job yesterday was just support Lawrence.
21:45And I will hold my hands up.
21:47One of the key reasons that Levi did come across initially
21:49was for the PT role.
21:51But then when it came to it,
21:52it was more of a pure play acting role.
21:54So, you know, who do I feel sort of would do the role best?
21:57And I've got to make the decision.
21:59I've got to back myself.
22:00Levi was a phenomenal director.
22:05Across the hall.
22:06Hi, I'm your fitness cyborg personal trainer.
22:11Powering up there, PT.
22:13Support your cyber boost.
22:15Harry's team.
22:16And I will see you on the cyber track.
22:21So, my only concern would be that the tone
22:24isn't a little bit younger.
22:25Like, did anyone think that wasn't just me?
22:27You'd be a great children's insane, I think.
22:30What's this?
22:31Is it male, female?
22:33It's unisex.
22:34It's unisex.
22:35It's unisex.
22:36It does look good.
22:38There's no right or wrong answer.
22:40No, correct.
22:40We've incorporated the smartwatch,
22:42we've incorporated the headband,
22:43so it's like all the sports features, trainers.
22:45What, is that a T-shirt?
22:47So, it's meant to be running kit.
22:48Oh, okay.
22:51The team aerobics.
22:52Start running.
22:53Start running.
22:54A first glimpse of their game.
22:56Yeah, there's yellow girls.
22:57Hey, there's yellow girls.
22:58Yes, running.
23:00And a dose of reality.
23:02What are these?
23:03They're frogs.
23:04Right.
23:05Oh.
23:08And then two squats.
23:10Yep.
23:10Lovely.
23:11Brilliant.
23:14The only concerns I do have is the frogs.
23:17I think, for us, the struggle was like the motive of the game.
23:20Like, maybe if you had an idea or, you know...
23:23So...
23:23For me, I literally got out of the chair and I was like,
23:25listen, we need to make this fun and exciting.
23:27The whole idea of collecting rewards right now is super boring.
23:29But it just didn't seem imaginative.
23:32And for me, that someone doesn't game, it didn't even feel exciting.
23:35It would have been ideal for one of you to maybe have joined.
23:37However, we tried our best.
23:41You see these yellow coins?
23:43These are our collectibles.
23:45On the other team...
23:46So, you're gonna do 12 punches, one after the other.
23:49Or...
23:49Gamer Karishma.
23:51You're explaining this very well, Karishma.
23:53Gamer Karishma.
23:53Final boss, knock him out.
23:55Oh, wow.
23:55Good. Coins collected.
23:56Ten.
23:57Sets the pace.
23:59So, guys, I absolutely loved your work.
24:01I know you did an incredible job on the design team
24:03and I think you've absolutely nailed it.
24:05She did.
24:05I do kind of want to be on the pitch team.
24:08Um, Karishma, would you mind swapping with me?
24:11And we'll go do the pitch.
24:12Me, Connor and Kieran.
24:14Mm-hmm.
24:15I think you'll do an amazing job in consumer research
24:17because that is incredibly important.
24:18We need that.
24:19We've seen it in past tasks where it's not been listened to.
24:21Is everyone all right with that?
24:23I should be on the pitch team.
24:25I'm the only gamer in the whole team.
24:27I also feel like they don't know how to pitch certain things.
24:30Like, they're just gonna start spinning things
24:31and they're not gonna see it from a gamer perspective.
24:35We've got to win investors.
24:36That's the bottom line of this task.
24:38Also looking for virtual volunteers.
24:40Is there anyone that isn't confident pitching?
24:42Project manager, Lawrence.
24:45I think it is a good game, don't get me wrong.
24:47But for me, I feel like pitching this idea of our game
24:51wouldn't be massively strong for me.
24:55I do get that Rajan has immediately said
24:57that he's not confident.
24:58I feel like we all...
24:59I didn't say I was not confident.
25:00I said I wasn't massively familiar.
25:03You were part of it, you still?
25:04Yeah, absolutely.
25:05I'm not denying that.
25:06Can I just add that myself and Pasha
25:07we aren't 100% confident in the game either.
25:10I'm happy personally to still back it.
25:12Cool.
25:12Well, listen, that's what I want.
25:14I need energy.
25:14I need belief.
25:15Levi, you're going to be sub-team leader.
25:18Rajan, I need quantifiable data
25:20that we can take to the investors.
25:22Sure.
25:24Rajan didn't want to pitch.
25:25So, today he is doing the consumer research
25:27which, in all honesty, anyone can do that.
25:30It's not rocket science.
25:31I think people are really trying to get the easy straw
25:33in this process
25:34and if you don't challenge yourself
25:35then what are you doing?
25:36We are going to take Aerobics Life VR
25:39and we're going to bring it to life.
25:41Let's do it.
25:41Come on, guys.
25:42Let's do it.
25:4410am.
25:46While half of each team set out to test the market.
25:50Guys, I'm not going to lie.
25:51As the only game I probably should have been on the pitch team,
25:53it makes zero sense for me to be on this team.
25:55Why would you not switch Kieran out?
25:59The rest target a top score by prepping the perfect pitch.
26:05Levi spoke up about the PT side,
26:07I really want to do that
26:08and I thought, Levi, this is your time to shine.
26:11I completely understand.
26:12I had to make a decision with the character
26:13to put myself forward after Levi.
26:15So I was excited to do it
26:16and that's tough.
26:16That's really tough to do.
26:17I had a reason for it.
26:19It's not for everyone to agree with it
26:20but what's important today is positivity, excitement
26:23and getting that pitch out there.
26:24Yeah.
26:27The O2, London.
26:29Base for both teams to road test their games.
26:33Hidden amongst the punters,
26:35three investors from the worlds of fitness and tech.
26:39Dodge the spiders, they're dangerous.
26:41Dodge the spiders.
26:43Representing race to the top.
26:45These robots here, you've got to just punch it in the face.
26:47There we go.
26:49Harry's gaming squad.
26:51Hi, I'm your fitness cyborg personal trainer.
26:55Did everyone like his character, his energy?
26:57I felt like he, it's someone
26:59that would appeal to like a ten-year-old.
27:01He doesn't look like super healthy.
27:04He doesn't look that inspiring.
27:05It's pretty terrifying.
27:06So let's move on to the game.
27:08Who thought it looked really cool
27:10and like visually engaging?
27:12One, two, three, four.
27:13Yeah, I've counted.
27:15So it's ten out of thirteen.
27:16Okay, ten out of thirteen.
27:17Amazing.
27:17From a gaming experience, it kind of works.
27:20But from a workout perspective, I don't think it works.
27:22Uh-huh.
27:23And, um, would you play this game again?
27:25So we've got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
27:27So over half of you.
27:28The ones that kept your hands down, you're all gym goers.
27:31Yes.
27:31Yeah.
27:32Okay.
27:32That's good to know.
27:35On the other team.
27:37Er...
27:37What the hell?
27:39I don't know if it was over the dungeon or fighting.
27:41Giving their concept a workout.
27:43Oh, oh, now I know it's out of running problems, okay.
27:45Yeah.
27:46Levi and Roger.
27:49When you look at this logo, do you automatically think,
27:52I'm about to do an aerobics game here?
27:54I think it's a bit boring to like look at.
27:57Yeah.
27:57It's very like corporate.
27:59I think a bit aggressive, feels just a bit too much.
28:02So you've all played the game, gives a bit of feedback,
28:04what you thought about it.
28:05Yeah, I think it was good.
28:06In terms of, you've got your challenges in there,
28:08you've got to see your squats, you've got to do your jab punching.
28:11When I first started, I was a bit confused why there were frogs.
28:15Mm-hmm.
28:15I didn't really know if I was supposed to punch them,
28:17run away from them.
28:18So the instructions weren't clear in the games?
28:21No, I mean, it's just frogs.
28:22So would you play this game again after playing it once?
28:26Probably not.
28:27Probably not.
28:31Mid-afternoon.
28:32It was very clear from the offset that the gamers loved the whole concept.
28:36Before pitches begin...
28:37The fitness people didn't really like it, to be honest.
28:41They didn't really think it was active enough.
28:43A chance to run through the research.
28:46Are you happy, Harry, with how the team's split?
28:48Do you think it might be worth Karishma joining you guys in the pitch
28:52just to answer any of those questions?
28:54We've been prepping it all day.
28:56I think it's probably better to keep it as it is,
28:58because we've got it sorted.
28:59Do you guys feel comfortable?
29:00Because I know you guys weren't on the game side of it.
29:02You were, obviously, but you're in the demo.
29:04You know I was on the game team too.
29:06Yeah, yeah, yeah.
29:06No, no, no.
29:06Sorry, sorry, I forgot that.
29:12Also, working up a sweat.
29:14So, going on from the logo.
29:16Boring.
29:17Corporate.
29:18Yeah.
29:18Aggressive.
29:20Team aerobics.
29:21People didn't really understand what to do.
29:23So as soon as they got into it, like,
29:24whoa, frogs, what do I do?
29:26We're going to take that on the chin,
29:27we're going to take it like adults
29:28and we're going to make sure we smash this pitch out of the park.
29:31All right, looking forward to it, guys.
29:34Pitching time.
29:37Waiting, with over half a million pounds of investment up for grabs,
29:42a panel of industry heavyweights
29:45and a legend from the world of fitness.
29:48Let's go.
29:49First up, I'd love to welcome you to our proposal pitch
29:52for investment in our new game,
29:54Race to the Top.
29:56Harry's team.
29:59Oh, I know him.
30:00I was the one that was doing the demonstration.
30:01Yeah, he was there, yeah.
30:02To our virtual PT.
30:04Hi, I'm your fitness cyborg pet.
30:06That's someone we met today as well.
30:07Oh, my God.
30:09Guys, I strapped him in today.
30:10He was there.
30:12He played the game.
30:14Connor, are you ready to race to the top?
30:16Let's go.
30:18Run, let's go.
30:20Left, right, left, right.
30:22Keep going, Connor.
30:24The building spell, jump.
30:25Watch out for that eagle.
30:27But he's not really explaining what the game's about.
30:29He's not talking about the coins.
30:30Yeah.
30:31Jump again for me.
30:32Come on, you've got this.
30:33Don't stop now.
30:33I mean, talk about the coins.
30:35We're just walking right past them.
30:36Yeah.
30:36Now, one big punch.
30:38Congratulations, Connor.
30:39You've just burnt 22 calories.
30:41Oof.
30:42I hope you're not too knackered after that.
30:45Now, our team went out to go do a bit of customer research earlier.
30:49And we knew we had a good idea, but we didn't know if gamers in particular
30:53would find it as eye-catching and as motivating as us.
30:56Luckily, through that research, they found they loved it.
30:59And if you do have any questions, we would absolutely love to answer them.
31:02My name's Miles Jacobson.
31:04I mean, they have no idea that we actually spoke with Miles today.
31:07He's tried this game.
31:08You spoke there about the game that's really enjoyed it.
31:11Uh-oh.
31:11I was at the focus testing as well.
31:13Sure.
31:15And the fitness people, they're saying that it didn't do the job at all.
31:20Right, so on to the next question.
31:22Yeah.
31:23Obviously, the game is set in a futuristic cyber city.
31:27But to me, when I look at that branding, I immediately think of a kind of 80s arcade game.
31:31Oh.
31:33It will attract the older audience who know arcades from back in the day
31:37and maybe haven't even looked at getting into fitness via playing games.
31:42Hi, my name's Christina Hurugu.
31:44I'm a GB athlete, 400 metres.
31:46I'd wondered if you'd just explain to me how you would go on and advance the fitness components of your
31:54game.
31:55He has no idea.
31:56Look at his face.
31:57He has no idea what he's going to say.
31:59Thank you for your question.
32:01So, I think, you know, the first thing that we would do in terms to make it difficult is, you
32:08know, longer tracks.
32:10The longer it is, the more the person has to run.
32:13Take the mic off him.
32:14Take the mic off him.
32:15Um, in terms that your go?
32:18Yes.
32:19Yeah, so there's a variety of different elements that get more difficult and increasingly demanding the longer you go on.
32:25Are you making this up on the spot or is this an actual thing?
32:28Yes, he's making it up on the spot.
32:30Well, thank you so much, everyone, for your time.
32:32Thank you so much.
32:36It can definitely work.
32:37I noticed a lot of pivoting on stage.
32:40Yes.
32:40Is it not good, though, that they're thinking on their feet?
32:43Hi.
32:43Hello, boys.
32:44Hi, guys.
32:45You know what?
32:45It was difficult out there, I'm not going to lie.
32:47Yeah, we saw some of the questions.
32:48It was a tough crowd.
32:49It was a tough sell.
32:50I just hope, you know, we did think on our feet a bit.
32:54Hi, I'm Petey.
32:56Next to pitch...
32:57Great to meet you.
32:59Hoping for a high score.
33:01So, what are you waiting for?
33:03Let's go.
33:04Lawrence, Rothner, and Pasha.
33:07Good afternoon, and thank you so much for joining us for the launch of our brand new virtual reality game,
33:14Aerobics Life.
33:15I wanted to just start off by telling you a story, and that story is about myself.
33:20When I was 19 years old, I got an injury playing football, and that was the only sport I knew
33:25how to do.
33:26So, for the first time in my life, I decided I was going to do aerobics.
33:31I see a couple of people looking from across the gym, and they're laughing.
33:35So I get up, I leave the gym, and I never do aerobics again to this day.
33:39You know what?
33:40I understand the angle of going down, like, the personal kind of stories and stuff.
33:44I agree.
33:45But I think it's just a bit much.
33:46I'm going to hand you over now to Pasha and Rothner, who are going to go through the game, and
33:51I know they're going to smash this out the park.
34:00I don't look for us.
34:05Come on, Rothner.
34:06You need to talk.
34:08You need to talk.
34:09You need to say what's happening.
34:10Describe what she's doing.
34:11At each checkpoint, you're meant to do a different type of exercise.
34:15This is what you're meant to be saying.
34:18Oh, my God.
34:20We would be delighted to answer any questions to help us secure that investment.
34:24My point, really, is just about the frogs.
34:28You said the focus is on aerobics and doing those exercises, but you're running from frogs.
34:35Who wanted frogs?
34:37Hasha and Rothner.
34:38Why the frogs?
34:39Ultimately, the frogs are a little bit out there.
34:41They are crazy, but, you know, some people might like it.
34:44I think if it's like Marmite, you either will love it or you will hate it.
34:47Don't say you like Marmite.
34:49I don't think that's a good thing to say.
34:51The whole purpose of this entire thing is for her to be constantly on her feet, constantly moving,
34:56basically being attacked by these unknown species that look like frogs.
35:01Thank you so much for the question.
35:02We look forward to working with you.
35:03Have a lovely rest of your day and thank you.
35:05Thank you so much, guys.
35:08What do you think?
35:10I spent the whole time making excuses for the frogs.
35:13Yeah, some frogs would really hurt.
35:15Hey!
35:16Hello, guys.
35:18Guys, that was so bad.
35:21Very tough task.
35:22I still stand by what is said.
35:24Lawrence should have been on the making of the game, point blank.
35:27Yes, I've fumbled a few words in the pitch then.
35:30I feel like the team's going to come for me.
35:33However, I'll be ready to fight.
35:37Tonight, investments totted up.
35:40Tomorrow, in the boardroom, the final boss.
35:539am.
35:55Oi.
35:55Good morning.
35:56Your team look a bit nervous.
35:57I was going to say the same about yours, fella.
36:00Yeah, well...
36:00And trust me, the big ones from you when you know you've won is very different to today.
36:05Christmas on you, mate.
36:06Or PM.
36:07May the best team win.
36:08May the best man win.
36:13I'm always nervous going to the boardroom.
36:15It's a very nerve-wracking place.
36:16But obviously being a project manager adds a lot of heat onto you.
36:20I think as project manager on this task, I've had to make a lot of tough decisions against the grain
36:24of the team.
36:24But if there are any issues, I don't feel like they'll be the things that were under my control as
36:28a project manager.
36:33You can go through to the boardroom now.
36:48So, it's time to find out now who's made it to the next level.
36:54Erm...
36:55We'll start with Team Alpha.
36:58Harry.
36:59Yes, Lord Chigot?
37:00You became project manager, right?
37:03Absolutely.
37:04Super Harry-o.
37:05Yeah.
37:06Yeah.
37:07Has a good ring to that.
37:09Yeah.
37:10So, you've got running.
37:11Why have you gone for running?
37:13So, Harry is a very active runner.
37:15I see him running a lot in the house.
37:17Why is he running in the house?
37:19Away from Dan.
37:22The development team, I think you had a lot of input into it, Krishna, right?
37:26That's logical.
37:27I know that there's like a premise with every game where you fight small level obstacles and then eventually reach
37:34a big boss.
37:35So, I wanted to replicate that for our game.
37:37You bossed it though, I thought.
37:38I thought you were the big boss.
37:40Oh, thank you.
37:41Okay.
37:42Then there's a branding team.
37:43Harry, Dan and Priyash, right?
37:47That's correct, yes.
37:48So, that is your logo.
37:49So, this is the logo for our game.
37:51Race to the top.
37:52Exactly, yes.
37:53Hmm.
37:54It looks like an Amstrad 4, 6-4 game.
37:56Yeah, like an old Amstrad game, yeah.
37:59Anyway, let me have a look at this promotional video.
38:02Hi, I'm your fitness cyborg personal trainer.
38:06So, put on your cyber boots and I will see you on the cyber track.
38:11All right.
38:12Looks like it's working in a gym in Chernobyl.
38:15Yeah.
38:17Like Kermit on steroids.
38:20We, um...
38:21Bionic bogey, that's what it looks like.
38:24Yeah.
38:24What do you think about that creature?
38:26I think that was definitely our weakest point.
38:28Yeah.
38:29Scary, obnoxious, the experts say.
38:31Yeah.
38:32Yeah, that sounds like Piers Morgan's Tinder profile.
38:35Yeah.
38:36Anyway, can we see the game then?
38:40So, the game starts off with running.
38:43Um, the first obstacle is these flying eagles.
38:47So, what am I doing?
38:48I'm on a running machine, am I?
38:50Yeah, so right now you'd essentially be going like this.
38:52Yeah.
38:52So that you're doing the exercise to climb up with it.
38:55Yeah.
38:55Then this is the finale.
38:56This needs to be one big hard punch to knock out.
38:58That's him, that's the big boss.
39:00I don't know what you needed him for.
39:01You've got one here.
39:03Oh, yeah.
39:04Um, who did the pitch?
39:06So, that was myself, Connor and Kieran.
39:08You didn't let Karishma do it then?
39:10Um, so I thought they'd be best...
39:12He was a bit upset about that, wasn't you?
39:13It would have been more logical to me to be on the pitch side, but they were equipped with all
39:18the information and did a good job.
39:22Yeah.
39:22Alright, anyway, so what did they think?
39:24Having read the room, I think half of them liked it, half of them didn't.
39:27Yeah.
39:27Well, one of them was going to make quite a large investment, but decided to significantly reduce it because of
39:36the quality of the answers to some of the questions.
39:38I felt you waffled and made it up on the spot.
39:42That is disappointing.
39:44Okay.
39:46So, let's move on now to Eclipse.
39:49And Lawrence, you became the PM.
39:53That's correct, Lord Sugar.
39:54And you decided to go for aerobics, is that right?
39:56That's correct, Lord Sugar.
39:57I think aerobics is growing in nature in the mail market and I wanted to be able to reach as
40:02many people as we could.
40:03Okay, so the development team was Rothner, sub-team leaders, right?
40:09Yes, that's correct.
40:10Rajan and Pasho, yeah?
40:12Correct.
40:13Did your project manager give you a clear brief as to what to get on with?
40:16We didn't have a storyline to go in, so we spent a lot of that time trying to come up
40:20with a storyline.
40:21If I may, Lord Sugar, the idea was if you kept up with your fitness, you got lower life insurance
40:26premiums.
40:27But Lawrence, Lawrence, Lawrence, the task is to create a story.
40:32That's the key to the whole thing, right?
40:35I can't say anything but that I tried.
40:39Anyway, and then there's a branding team.
40:41So why are you on the branding team?
40:44So, because my background with Copy and Tim, I've listened to you say on a podcast that Lord Sugar's greatest
40:49strength is putting people where they have their strengths.
40:52And I thought putting myself in an area where I didn't have strengths would be a big...
40:55Must be a long podcast, I'm telling you.
40:58You don't need a podcast, Lord Sugar's made it very clear in his boardroom, put yourself in the right position
41:02based on what you know.
41:03Yeah.
41:04So that is your logo.
41:06That's the logo, correct, Lord Sugar.
41:08Looks like a sign to the gents.
41:10Yeah.
41:10Yeah.
41:11I think it needed to be abundantly clear what the game was about.
41:14And I think we delivered that with the logo.
41:16Okay.
41:17Now, let's run the promotional video.
41:20Hi, I'm Petey, your personal trainer.
41:23I'm here to help you reach your goals to give you more flexibility and more life.
41:28Whose voice is that?
41:30That would be me, Lord Sugar.
41:32That's you?
41:32Yeah.
41:33So, you took over there.
41:35I was awfully expecting Levi to turn up in one of those adverts for neglected donkeys or something.
41:42You know?
41:42Alright, let's run the game.
41:46Right, here's your logo.
41:49They're getting chased by these demonic frogs.
41:52Frogs?
41:53Yeah.
41:53The evil frogs, yeah.
41:54They're the evil frogs.
41:55They're human to run.
41:56So the whole point is you're constantly moving.
41:58Okay.
41:59Right.
41:59Okay.
42:01So, what did you think of the game when they showed it to you?
42:04Yeah, it wasn't brilliant and the frogs were odd.
42:08Lord Sugar, the one thing I do want to mention is I ask that people give 110% and almost
42:12exclusively I do feel like that was given.
42:14That's a horrible statement we hate in...
42:17If people try their best, no one's a game developer.
42:20110%.
42:20There's no such thing as that, you know?
42:22Yeah.
42:26Right, I think it's time to see who invested in these VR fitness games.
42:31Tim, how did your team get on?
42:34Well, the investors felt the logo was a bit too corporate looking and there was no real rationale behind certain
42:40aspects of the game.
42:41The frogs, you heard the questions that they posed to you and that the game lacked any real substance.
42:47So, three of the investors decided they wanted to invest Lord Sugar and they were willing to invest a total
42:53of £55,000 into your development.
42:56Okay.
42:56Okay.
42:58Right.
42:59Karen, could you tell me the same thing?
43:01What happened on your side?
43:04Well, unfortunately, Alan, they didn't like the logo.
43:08They were really not keen on the name and they absolutely hated the character.
43:15But they all did really like the game.
43:20So, all four invested and you got a total of £205,000 into further development.
43:28Wow.
43:29That's a lot.
43:30That's good.
43:30Yep, they got Karishma to thank.
43:32I must say, Karishma did smash the game this time.
43:34Yeah.
43:35And Harry did a great job as Pierre.
43:36Yeah.
43:36I'll see you on the next task.
43:38Thank you very much.
43:46Well, they've got nearly four times more than you.
43:49I think that has a lot to do with the game.
43:52So, I'm afraid you're going to have to go away and talk amongst yourself in anticipation of at least one
43:59of you leaving the process today.
44:02Okay?
44:11We did it.
44:12We did it.
44:13Well done.
44:13How's that?
44:14I believe it.
44:15I thought you did a fantastic job.
44:17Super Harry-O.
44:18Yes, Super Harry-O.
44:21From the brief in the morning, I think we all left pretty shocked.
44:25It's just literally had nothing to go on.
44:27It is not solely on the project manager to tell you exactly what to do and every single thing within
44:32it.
44:33The most important part of this task was creating a game.
44:36Lawrence put himself forward as project manager.
44:38Couldn't deliver.
44:39The excuses are coming out of him like they're on tap.
44:43Whose idea was the Frogs?
44:45It was a collective of me and Rossner.
44:46Yeah, it was a collective.
44:46Okay.
44:47I did express my concerns.
44:48I kept asking him, so what do you think, Rajan?
44:50So what do you think?
44:51You just weren't coming back with anything.
44:53It was incredibly difficult to work with Rajan.
44:55I just don't feel like he contributed anything.
44:58If it hadn't been for me or Pasha, there'd be no game.
45:01Any kind of input I was putting in, it just played off and I really struggled to actually
45:05conversate with the group.
45:06I mean, Pasha literally had her back completely turned to me and it was just Pasha bouncing ideas to Rossner.
45:12I'm going to be honest with you, I'm hearing conflict in the team and that is ultimately quite worrying.
45:16In my eyes, I think there's no smoke without fire and Rajan hid from the pitch and it sounds like
45:21he got in conflict.
45:22And I think Rajan has really let the team down.
45:34Yes, Lord Sugar.
45:35Could you send the candidates in, please?
45:47Well, you're lost by £150,000, not a small loss.
45:53Now, right at the brainstorm in the beginning, no clear concept.
45:58Use your imagination.
45:59That's what you said to them.
46:01I'm not a game developer.
46:02I didn't believe that what I was going to do.
46:04Did you say something, did you allude to having done a game or an app before?
46:09It was more along the lines of gamification itself. It was an app for fitness.
46:13It was very misleading, to be honest.
46:15We were under the impression that, you know, he's actually developed some form of a game and then...
46:20I don't think that's fair. I mean, my background is PR.
46:23Guys, am I...
46:24Listen, listen.
46:25No, we agree.
46:25I think a lack of imagination has left it really to two people to create something.
46:30You say lack of imagination, but with this, you were project manager and you had a vision.
46:34If you felt like you needed to be spoon-fed and given every part of the game...
46:38I didn't need to be spoon-fed.
46:38Well, clearly you did.
46:40I don't know why you're looking at me as if I've produced games.
46:43That's not the issue.
46:43You said you have creativity.
46:44I do have creativity, but without a structure, without anything to go on for it.
46:49But why does that only have to come from me?
46:50Because you're the project manager.
46:51No, but it's not only...
46:52If you feel that your project manager was in the wrong location, why didn't you say that?
46:57I did a number of times.
46:59Do you think he was on the right team still, Lawrence?
47:01The frogs element is ridiculous and I am disappointed and I wish I could have been there now I've seen
47:06what was created.
47:07Lawrence, it's a little bit unfair for you to say you are disappointed.
47:09Yes, I can delve into where we went wrong.
47:11You did the logo, didn't you?
47:13I did do the logo and...
47:14The character to your PT, you could have played him, couldn't you?
47:18I could have played him more, sure, that's correct.
47:19You became the PT and he became your PA.
47:23The reason why I come over to the Branding Sign was to do that in particular, but Lawrence felt more
47:28comfortable doing that.
47:30Didn't you trust Levi to do it?
47:31I did, but when you're the project manager and it's your neck, I felt like I could deliver that really
47:36well from the script that I had written.
47:37So what did Levi get to do there?
47:39It's not about get to do, it's about trying to make sure the team wins.
47:43What did you do?
47:44I supported the project manager to get that vision of what he aimed down on there.
47:49What's the point of having a project manager if I'm going to be overruling the project manager's view?
47:54What have you done in the past seven weeks?
47:56You were kind of like a wallflower.
47:58I've participated in teams winning. I can't pinpoint one by one on every task.
48:04Did he take over everything then?
48:06Can I be PM?
48:07We collaborated well together.
48:09PT, next thing you get your P45.
48:12Anyway, Rajan, I was told you didn't want to do the pitch, is that right?
48:16That's correct, Lord.
48:18And someone said it's because you didn't really believe in the game.
48:21That's correct, yeah.
48:22But you helped build the bloody game.
48:24Well, no, so the actual concept was actually constructed by Pasha and Rothner.
48:28I did ask the team, how can we make this a bit more exciting?
48:32I did ask Rajan at one point, you know, you play games.
48:36And he kind of snapped at me saying, I'm not a gaming expert.
48:38And I said, I'm not accusing you. I just need you to, you know, give me your input.
48:41And it felt really difficult.
48:42I just feel like they were a person down in that team because of Rajan's lack of contribution
48:47and conflict.
48:48Lawrence, you can't say that I was not contributing to the task.
48:51I found it very difficult.
48:53At one point, backs were completely turned to me.
48:55I had to remind the team that there were three people here.
48:57They weren't.
48:58It was incredibly difficult.
48:59Rajan, I really don't want to interrupt you, but you did constantly keep finding things to pick on.
49:04And I didn't understand that.
49:05I was picking on it because the concept was all...
49:08Rajan, you bit my head off. You went personal.
49:10I did go personal.
49:10You said, just because you bake a cake doesn't make you Mr Kipling.
49:13When I asked you, have you had gaming experience?
49:15Yeah, because...
49:15Well, that's rude.
49:16No, no.
49:17This is the kind of attitude...
49:18Anyway, look, Lawrence, we're wasting a lot of time now.
49:21I'm fed up listening to this.
49:23Who are you bringing back into this boardroom?
49:25So, the first person I'd like to bring back is Rajan, just for the lack of contributions,
49:30the hiding away from the pitch.
49:32And with respect, Lord Sugar, I think you have made it quite clear about your mind on Levi,
49:37so I'll need to bring back Levi as well.
49:42Right.
49:44OK.
49:45You two ladies go back to the house then, yeah?
49:48Thank you, Lord Sugar.
49:49Thank you, Tim.
49:49Perfect.
49:55Right, gentlemen.
49:57I'd like you to step outside.
49:59I'm going to talk to Baroness Brady and to Tim, and at least one of you will be leaving the
50:04process today.
50:05OK?
50:14What about this Lawrence fellow?
50:16He has the audacity to say, well, because of what you're saying, Lord Sugar, I'll bring Levi back.
50:22Listen, Lawrence is a smart guy, but the reality is that sometimes you have to say,
50:26do you know what?
50:27I made a mistake.
50:27And in this one, he was on the wrong team, and he made mistakes.
50:31And what about Levi?
50:33Being relegated to someone's bag carrier is not good at this stage of the process.
50:38Yeah.
50:39I can't work out this Rajan.
50:41Rajan was given the opportunity to sell a concept.
50:44That's the heart of this task, and he stepped back from the opportunity.
50:46Right.
50:49Yes, Lord Sugar?
50:50Could you send the three of them in, please?
51:02You know, Lawrence?
51:04Yes, Lord Sugar?
51:05I find it a bit naughty saying you're bringing Levi back in here based upon some of the comments
51:12that I made about him.
51:13Yeah.
51:13But that's not the way this process is supposed to work.
51:16You're supposed to bring people back in who you think did not contribute to this task.
51:22I understand that, Lord Sugar, and potentially I've misspoken there.
51:25I really wanted one person back, to be honest with you, Rajan, for the lack of contribution.
51:30And I don't think there's time for coasters.
51:32When it came to...
51:33You're talking about coasting.
51:34You're talking about coasting, but then you didn't even...
51:36The PM didn't even go on the game.
51:38I will take accountability, but if I didn't bring someone back from the branding team as
51:43well, it would only be me that was to take accountability for that.
51:46So you're bringing Levi back because you thought that you needed one from the branding
51:50and one from the other game.
51:51There was elements of it which were disliked.
51:53I don't think so.
51:53Your own words hung yourself.
51:56And I...
51:56You said, I can tell by what you're saying, Lord Sugar, that you want me to bring Levi
52:03back.
52:03Those were your words.
52:04You know what?
52:05I regret saying that.
52:06I'm pretty annoyed with it, to be fair, Lord Sugar.
52:08It just shows the person that he is by bringing me back in all because of what you said.
52:12He isn't going off his own models with Lawrence.
52:14It's just going off what you're saying, Lord Sugar, with the greatest respect.
52:18The bits that were in my control did go well, but I can't see...
52:22You can't say all the bits you did, mate, were what they were happy with.
52:25Listen, the video got great consumer feedback.
52:28I'm meant to be doing the video and you swapped me because...
52:30Listen to me.
52:31You swapped me because of my Yorkshire twang.
52:33No, I didn't.
52:33That's the reason why you swapped me not to be in that suit.
52:36You did, because you said you can talk more clearly and more...
52:39And they liked the video.
52:40I could have done the video, which was the original plan.
52:43Okay, I could have done that.
52:43But as per usual, listen to me, Lawrence, I'm talking.
52:46Right?
52:47From the start, it were your way or no way.
52:49You wanted to control the whole thing.
52:51You contributed to the day.
52:53I really, I don't want to focus on the branding too much
52:55because there is one person that I deem very responsible for the failure of this task
52:59and that is Rajan.
52:59You keep saying about me copping out of this pitch, right?
53:02This is a game development task.
53:03You've copped out on being on the game development team
53:05and then you put yourself...
53:07Did Harry cop out?
53:07Sorry, I'm talking.
53:08And then you put yourself on the branding team of which you specialise in.
53:11You know, you're this PR guru.
53:12And you went on the branding team and you messed that up as well.
53:15So what did you do?
53:16What did you do?
53:17What did you do?
53:17It looked like a hospital sign.
53:19So they didn't like the logo how it looked.
53:21I should not be confused for contribution.
53:23And there was no contribution.
53:24The girls couldn't put anything to it that you contributed.
53:27How did I be called a disruptor if I didn't contribute?
53:29You're contradicting yourself.
53:31You find errors but you don't find solutions.
53:33I just don't understand.
53:34Levi should be fired.
53:36In all honesty, I think Lawrence should be fired, Lord Sugar.
53:39Who do you think should be fired?
53:41It has to be Lawrence.
53:42Lawrence, you're adamant it should be Rajan.
53:44I am.
53:45And I will say that throughout this process, I've never hidden.
53:47I've done my best.
53:48Lawrence, Lawrence, let me ask you a question.
53:50If Lord Sugar didn't say what he was saying,
53:52who would you have brought in instead of me?
53:53I still would have brought you back because once they spoke...
53:56No, you wouldn't have.
53:56Once they spoke about the law...
53:57So why didn't you just speak off your own morals?
53:59You know what?
53:59Because you made it clear, Lord Sugar.
54:01I tell you what, I'm going to make this easy now.
54:04I have accused you, Levi, of quite a few things
54:07in this particular boardroom,
54:09but I'm going to show you how fair I am
54:12by saying to you,
54:13you are going to be the project manager of the next task.
54:17Happy days, thank you, Lord Sugar.
54:18Yeah, well, we'll see if it's happy days, right?
54:20I'll remember that.
54:21Happy days, you said, yeah?
54:23Remember that?
54:24I wrote it down.
54:24Did you see that?
54:25I'm writing it down.
54:26Okay, all right.
54:27That just leaves you two here.
54:29Yeah.
54:31And what I've got to say about you, Lawrence,
54:34is that you've done well up until now in the process.
54:40As far as I'm concerned.
54:43Rajan...
54:45I haven't seen that much of you.
54:47No, no, just be quiet now.
54:50I'm filled up with listening to you.
54:54So...
54:55Lawrence, that was a nasty move.
54:57It was.
54:58And I regret that for the rest of my life.
55:00I'm sorry.
55:00It was a nasty move, Lawrence.
55:02I don't like people that do things like that.
55:05And for that reason, Lawrence,
55:07you know, you've given me a big dilemma.
55:12But I'm also reflecting back on the last seven weeks.
55:17Uh...
55:18Yeah.
55:19Well, I've got a gut feeling here.
55:21It may not be fair.
55:24But...
55:25Rajan...
55:26You're fired.
55:27Thank you, Lord Shiver.
55:28Tim.
55:29Baroness, Rudy.
55:30Good luck, Rajan.
55:37You...
55:37were this close...
55:39to getting out of here.
55:41OK.
55:42Get out.
55:42Go on, the pair of you.
55:43Go back to the house.
55:47Thank you, Lord Sugar.
55:54I'm definitely gutted to be leaving.
55:55I feel like, you know,
55:56the wrong decision was made today,
55:58especially after that slimy, slimy call
56:01by Lawrence to bring Levi in.
56:04But, you know, Lord Sugar's say is final,
56:06so I do have to respect that.
56:10Guys, how many people are getting fired?
56:12Who's coming back?
56:12I think Lawrence is coming back.
56:13He's a fighter, you know.
56:16Here he is!
56:17Whoa!
56:19Levi!
56:23Welcome back.
56:23Sit down, tell us about it.
56:26I'm gonna be honest with you guys.
56:27I'm beyond embarrassed with myself.
56:29And Lord Sugar kept coming for Levi.
56:31I just made a weak decision.
56:32Yeah, I think we were quite shocked.
56:34I will say, whilst I mean,
56:35I know I'm a kind person.
56:37I will help anyone out.
56:38But don't ever use me as a scapegoat in there, alright?
56:42Don't ever do that to me.
56:44But, one bonus.
56:45Whoever's on my team,
56:46I'm your next project manager.
56:49Thank you all.
56:51Thank you very much.
