00:12I mean, I would literally jump out of bed, run downstairs and get the post and read page six.
00:17And the daily news too, when you had A.J. Benz's column hot copy.
00:22That was like those two.
00:24But page six was like the, you know.
00:26Do you remember a particularly terrible morning because of something you read in page six?
00:31I remember the post, I think it was, had the front page.
00:37Well, first it had an item, I think, that they were engaged.
00:42Oh, yes.
00:42And then it was the front page of the post.
00:45And then he had to deny it.
00:46Was that true?
00:47Did he really deny it the way that it, okay.
00:49And why he denied it was because it was like three days before the George press conference.
00:56And he thought, and everybody talked about it.
01:00I mean, she was part of the conversation and we were just like, if you don't say anything,
01:05they're not going to ask you one question about George at the press conference.
01:08It's going to be all about, are you engaged?
01:10Are you engaged?
01:11Because on the show, it is depicted.
01:14And he'd never commented before.
01:15Oh, really?
01:16Okay.
01:16Because they make it seem like Carolyn was very upset that he would deny it, but that wasn't the case.
01:22I don't think she, I mean, I don't think she, I don't think she loved it.
01:24But I mean...
01:25What woman, anybody would want to hear that?
01:27Right, exactly.
01:27I'd jump on someone at Battery Park if they did that.
01:30But, you know, it was part of a conversation.
01:31It wasn't like she was blindsided by it at all.
01:34Page Six helped you out, though, a lot.
01:35Page Six sort of would dictate the day.
01:37And they were really great with their sourcing on, and John was, I think, obsessed.
01:43He read it every morning.
01:44It's hard to describe now, but there were no, there were just no sources.
01:48Like, so, like, how am I going to, and it wasn't like I was reporting on John every day.
01:52You would do it if something was happening, or George was huge when that happened,
01:56and, of course, the relationship with Carolyn.
01:58So, yes, I am very thankful to Pace Six.
