00:01Pretty girls are cooking in an ugly way.
00:04I named my restaurant Pretty Girls Cook.
00:08Oh, dear.
00:08I am so sorry.
00:09Oh, man.
00:10Smell that.
00:11Disgusting blood.
00:12You have lost your way.
00:14How could I allow this to happen to my own business?
00:16You didn't check them.
00:17I'm blaming you for this one.
00:19I've seen you arguing.
00:20That needs to go.
00:31I'm on my way into the center of Philadelphia to visit a restaurant called Pretty Girls Cook, run by a
00:37lady called Dominique.
00:38And my insider told me when this place opened, it was a huge hit in the community.
00:42Now, sadly, she's lost her way.
00:44The restaurant is failing.
00:45And I need to understand why.
00:47So I'm going to sneak in to really understand how this place functions.
00:52Here we are.
01:00Let's go.
01:01Quickly.
01:02Let's go.
01:07Look at the less.
01:10Bloody hell.
01:12Even the rats are dead.
01:13That's not a good sign.
01:15Look at the state of this place.
01:19Man, my insider said they left the key.
01:21It's somewhere.
01:23Yes.
01:26I've got the key.
01:28My key.
01:28We're in.
01:30Let's close that door.
01:33Man, there's an unhealthy smell in here.
01:35It absolutely stinks.
01:38Surely this is not their main fridge.
01:42Oh, my goodness.
01:43Look at the mess in here.
01:45What is that?
01:49Oh, man.
01:50That chicken's gone green.
01:52Look.
01:52It's just simmering in blood.
01:54This is so dangerous.
01:56That chicken's gone.
01:57Appalling.
01:59This is the open kitchen.
02:01When you have an open kitchen, you should be immaculate.
02:04Because customers are literally a meter away from me.
02:08Oh, my goodness.
02:09Look at that.
02:10Oh, man.
02:12That is disgusting.
02:13Where's my scraper?
02:17When was the last time this stuff was cleaned?
02:21That's in front of your customers.
02:24What's in here?
02:25That's the fridge, isn't it?
02:27Oh, .
02:28It smells in here.
02:30When a muscle is that far open, it confirms it's dead.
02:33Sometimes, if you flick it, it closes.
02:38That's dead.
02:39It's absolutely gone.
02:41And it's just sat there.
02:42I mean, multiple muscles in here are dead.
02:44And that's one of the most dangerous things you can ever do.
02:47That will send you to hospital.
02:50Oh, man.
02:52What is in there?
02:54Oh, my goodness me.
02:55What are they?
02:56Look at the state of that.
02:58Are they lamb chops?
02:59They're over 10 days old.
03:01Looks like the dog's been out, man.
03:04Wow.
03:06That lamb warms me.
03:07Is it on the menu?
03:09Ah, there it is there.
03:09Look.
03:11That's $47 for a 10-day-old lamb.
03:14Right.
03:14The dining room.
03:16Is that a one-arm chair?
03:21If you want to sit...
03:23No.
03:24No.
03:25Do you think that's what these one-arm chairs are for?
03:27Big-ass guys like myself.
03:30Wow.
03:32It's called Pretty Girl's Cook.
03:35This restaurant was somebody's dream.
03:37But something's happened.
03:39Someone's lost their way.
03:40There are so many bad practices in this restaurant.
03:43Let's get the hell out of here.
03:45Watch out for those bloody rats.
03:47What the hell?
03:50My insider told me that the owner started this business with passion.
03:56Sadly for me, the owner seems to have given up.
04:19All good, more routine.
04:21Now, all the staff here are under the impression that they're on a show called Restaurant Refresh.
04:27Hi, I'm Dominique and welcome to Restaurant Refresh.
04:30So, they have no idea I'm watching.
04:33So, it gives me a 360-degree view of everything that's going on.
04:41Zoom in.
04:44Yeah, here I come.
04:45Give me a second.
04:45I'm finishing up the payment.
04:47That's Dom.
04:48That's the boss.
04:49She's the owner.
04:50We found her.
04:51All right, I'm done with this too, Chuck.
04:52My name is Dominique and I am the owner of Pretty Girl's Cook.
04:56Who moved all these chairs like this?
04:58As a kid, I was always interested in cooking.
05:00My grandma was the first person that really kind of like hands-on taught me how to cook.
05:04So, I would be with her peeling potatoes, peeling yams.
05:07It was a good learning experience.
05:10Everybody want to drive me crazy today, I see.
05:12Cooking is a woman's thing, right?
05:14But for some strange reason, when it comes to culinary arts, this is a man's world.
05:18I do like to have women on the line.
05:20I think they like that too because they feel accepted.
05:23They feel heard.
05:24You know, I'm very sparkles, glitters, diamonds, girly girl.
05:27But like, believe me, I can burn.
05:28Like, don't worry about it.
05:29So, I named my restaurant Pretty Girl's Cook because pretty girls do be cooking.
05:36We opened in 2018.
05:38We hit the ground running.
05:40It's my grand opening.
05:41We sold out of everything.
05:42My grandmother is Jamaican.
05:43So, my menu was basic dishes from my culture, just on a little elevated level.
05:47This restaurant feels like my grandmom's kitchen.
05:512019 was my golden year.
05:53And then, you know, the world changed.
05:56It took us down bad.
05:58I just wanted to cook.
05:59I felt overwhelmed.
06:00I feel like somebody's playing a trick on me.
06:02I made a lot of bad decisions, financially, for my business.
06:06And then I took out some hard money loans that kind of put me in a bad space
06:10because those things are treacherous.
06:12I'm drowning.
06:13All the mistakes that I made as a business owner affected my creative love for cooking.
06:20It turned into a job, not a passion.
06:22And now, I don't even want to cook in this kitchen.
06:24I'm not the same anymore.
06:27The queen is here.
06:28Now, that's an announcement.
06:30That's Mina.
06:31I am the best chef and pretty girls cook.
06:34Everyone loves me.
06:36The queen has arrived.
06:37Come on, ladies.
06:38Dom scouted me from my other job.
06:41I was working at my family's bar, and I was the executive chef there.
06:44And Dom just came in here one day, and she was like,
06:47you, I need you in my restaurant.
06:49Who broke the burger press?
06:51First my pot, now the burger press.
06:53We can't have nothing in here.
06:54I don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear it.
06:56Dom, she treats us like we're her kids.
06:58She's always everybody's go-to.
07:00Wow, what's wrong?
07:01It's going to get done.
07:02It'll be times that I ask to be paid early, and she'll come out of her own pocket and just
07:06give it to me.
07:07Like, everything about her is just like a genuine person.
07:10And when it comes to cooking, she's a really creative person.
07:13It's stressing me out.
07:14But now, she hates being on the line.
07:16It's like, kind of starting to turn into like a hate for cooking.
07:22Hello, how you doing?
07:23Table for three.
07:24Right, pretty girls cook.
07:26The restaurant is live, it's open.
07:28Someone will be right with you guys.
07:29The big question for me is, can they cook?
07:31Can I have the salty shrimp scampi?
07:33Yeah, absolutely.
07:35All right, guys.
07:35And scampi at the bottom.
07:37And, man, they're getting stacked.
07:38They're getting busy.
07:39Where's Dom?
07:40She should be front and center right now.
07:42Can I bring things over there?
07:43Dom.
07:44When we, like, are swamped and, like, we need that extra hand, she just basically expects us to just deal
07:50with it.
07:51I need muscle.
07:52I can't do it.
07:53Oh, my God.
07:55When I don't get help, I get frustrated.
07:56We supposed to work together.
07:59Both Brussels have bacon, ma'am?
08:01Both, yes.
08:03Is that daddy?
08:04OK.
08:05That's one of your camera seven.
08:07Hi, my name's Ronnie at Pretty Gross Cook.
08:10I'm one of the head cooks behind the line.
08:12Don't piss me off.
08:14I joined the military when I was in college.
08:17I went to culinary school there, graduated top of my class, did my eight years, and landed here.
08:23The last ticket is the takeout.
08:25OK.
08:26No, it ain't.
08:27Yes, it is.
08:28No, it ain't.
08:29Y'all gotta be me.
08:31Me and Mina believe that both of us are the HBIC, so...
08:35What is HBIC?
08:36The head bitch in charge.
08:37Fries.
08:39Basically demanding it.
08:40Why y'all look so angry?
08:41He said, I don't like the way she talking to me.
08:42So all I said was fries?
08:43No, the way you said it.
08:45Wow.
08:47Now, my insider told me that Mina and Ronnie do not work together at all.
08:52There is no synergy there.
08:53Does Dom know that?
08:56Yeah, even though you ain't been helping me.
08:58I've been helping.
08:59You haven't?
08:59I do not listen to anything Ronnie tells me to do at all.
09:02The bread takes longer than the muscle.
09:04That's not how that works.
09:05We argue a lot on the line.
09:07Ronnie is not my boss.
09:11Could there be more?
09:12Okay, come on.
09:15Ah!
09:16The heck of it?
09:17No, you know I did it.
09:18They forget.
09:19They're in front of paying customers.
09:22I mean, honestly, there's no leader.
09:24Brush your sprouts.
09:25The breakdown of communication starts with Dom.
09:28Not good.
09:30Oh, my goodness me.
09:31Look at the filth on the floor.
09:33Look at the mess.
09:35Oh, come on.
09:36I mean, all those fries on the floor like that.
09:39You know, you need to be extra clean.
09:41Rodents running amok.
09:43The fact that I clapped eyes on that dead one
09:46outside the back door tells you a lot.
09:48Work in a mess, produce a mess.
09:49Work nice and tidy, produce tidy food.
09:52That's it.
09:54All right, guys.
09:55How you making out?
09:56That's Diamond.
09:57I serve him.
09:58All right, what can I get you today?
10:00What is this work atmosphere like?
10:03Laissez-faire, I'll say.
10:04We're almost out of plates, Dom.
10:06All right.
10:07There are a ton of things that we could be just doing better.
10:10We got two forks in this whole building right now.
10:12Any time it gets a little bit busy in here,
10:14we run out of forks.
10:15We're gonna have to switch to plastic utensils.
10:16We're out of forks.
10:18Already?
10:18Already.
10:19I don't even know what the forks are.
10:21Oh, my God.
10:22They've got $35, $40 entrees on,
10:26and you're eating with plastic knife and forks.
10:28Come on.
10:32Ronnie, are we good for muscles right now?
10:34No.
10:35No?
10:35What y'all don't have?
10:36Muscles.
10:36Yes, we do.
10:37Yes.
10:38I got it.
10:39OK.
10:40Oh, my goodness.
10:41Why would you say no?
10:42And it's a whole bag back there.
10:44All right.
10:44I'm not.
10:45That's not what you want to see with staff in front of customers.
10:49Come on.
10:50Zoom in, camera 7, please.
10:53Inside that fridge, the muscles, yes.
10:54They're there again.
10:56Last night, I found dead muscles.
10:59Oh, my goodness me.
11:01If they go to serve those muscles, I am in.
11:05There is no way on earth I'm gonna stand there
11:07and watch them eat those.
11:08People can die from this.
11:12Oh, my God.
11:13What happened?
11:15The lamb is on fire.
11:17Oh, .
11:21Watching Dom, it's almost like she's invisible
11:23in her own restaurant.
11:25Dom should be eyes and ears everywhere.
11:27But she shut down and switched off.
11:30Did you take that dirty to table one?
11:32Yes.
11:33That wasn't table one dirty.
11:34Well, where was it today?
11:35That was bar 5-6.
11:37Oh.
11:39Dom is overall just an amazing person.
11:41But I kind of feel like she's giving up.
11:43She's here physically, but mentally she's not.
11:46Y'all me up.
11:47Dom can go behind there and do a bit of cooking.
11:50She's not leading the team right now.
11:51It's no wonder the troops are fighting.
11:53And I feel like you've got to go over here.
11:56.
11:56Right here, man.
11:57Oh, well, I that up.
11:59Wow.
12:04Call me if y'all need me.
12:06Dear, oh, dear.
12:08They're stressing me out.
12:09Dom should be on the line, leaving the team out of the weeds.
12:12She's refusing to cook and the whole restaurant's suffering.
12:15There's nothing pretty about that.
12:17Damn.
12:35Bryce.
12:36All right, my eyes dry.
12:37Right, and we are full.
12:42So the fryer is in overdrive.
12:45The grill is chock-a-block.
12:48Am I missing something?
12:50Where's Dom in all this?
12:51You know, it's a tiny restaurant, right?
12:53Dom should be eyes and ears everywhere.
12:56.
12:58I think I messed up.
13:00Is that Dom back in camera nine?
13:03.
13:04Dear, oh, dear.
13:05Come on, Dom.
13:06We are running a restaurant, not a hairdressing salon.
13:09Let's go.
13:10Come on.
13:11It's a little disheartening to watch somebody who was so passionate
13:14when I got here to feel that a love isn't there anymore.
13:18They no longer have that passion.
13:20Can I get fries?
13:21Can I get fries?
13:22Like, I feel like that was everything.
13:23Hey, I don't like the way you talking to me.
13:27Just zoom in on how they stack these sandwiches, please.
13:30Horrible.
13:31Take a look at the color of that stove.
13:33The stove is filthy dirty.
13:35This is the thing that pains me.
13:36There are so many women in this kitchen with so much experience.
13:41How can so many bad practices slip through the cracks?
13:45Come on.
13:46It just looks like slop.
13:48Look at that oil.
13:49Oh, my goodness me.
13:51Pretty girls are cooking in an ugly way.
13:55Everything okay?
13:58The sandwich?
13:59Like, it's really big.
14:01Got you.
14:02That is appalling.
14:03You said it was oily.
14:05All right, take it off.
14:06Take it off the bill.
14:08Oh, no.
14:09Okay.
14:12How much sauce are they putting on that brisket?
14:15They're caking it in there.
14:17When you cook brisket,
14:20and then you get a store-bought barbecue sauce
14:23and you macerate it in there.
14:24It could be any protein.
14:25It won't taste of brisket.
14:26Dear, oh, dear.
14:27It's dumb opening this place with love and passion.
14:30I don't give a .
14:31Well, that has left the building, let me tell you.
14:36My insider has given me vast amounts of knowledge.
14:39But to understand more about the customer experience,
14:41I'm calling on my trusted secret diner, Rock Harper.
14:47And joining him, another former Hell's Kitchen champion, Alex Ballou.
14:59Just the two?
15:00Yes, please.
15:01I have a seat right here.
15:03Okay.
15:03Just the two.
15:04Not even a welcome.
15:05Good to see you.
15:06Oh, that's weird.
15:07I only want one arm.
15:10Easy in and out.
15:12Damn.
15:13Rock's having a hard time getting to that chair.
15:15Hey, gentlemen.
15:16I'll be right over.
15:17Okay, thank you.
15:18Those chairs look so uncomfortable.
15:20This is super awkward.
15:21You have an earpiece?
15:22Can you hear me?
15:23Yeah.
15:23How uncomfortable are those chairs, by the way?
15:25I was starting to get my fat ass in there last night.
15:27Good.
15:27It's got a good lean to it.
15:29Just one arm.
15:30.
15:30This is weird.
15:34Dear, oh dear.
15:35Did you want a minute to cruise the menu?
15:37Let me do the lamb with the sweet potato and the mac and cheese.
15:44And the mac and cheese?
15:44Yeah.
15:45And that's everything for you guys?
15:46How did you want that lamb cooked?
15:47Medium cooked.
15:48Medium?
15:48No problem.
15:50When you walk into a restaurant and it's called Pretty Girls Cook,
15:53you expect some fun.
15:55A nice chip in the bowl.
15:57Plastic silverware.
15:59But I can tell you now, there's not a lot of joy.
16:02Not a lot of joy anywhere in this restaurant.
16:05Look at Ronnie's face.
16:06Oh my goodness me.
16:09Nobody seems very happy.
16:13So this is the 11 day old lamb lollipops I saw last night.
16:19Lamb chops.
16:20Looks like the dogs without them.
16:22I'm amazed that the chefs behind the line are sending food like that.
16:26Rock, Alex, please do not eat that lamb.
16:31How's everything else on that plate?
16:33The mac, et cetera?
16:34Mac and cheese seems super stringy.
16:37Dry.
16:38All the cheese is basically curdled.
16:39Oh, there is nothing pretty about this performance, let me tell you.
16:44That muscle's probably done, Lou.
16:47Oh.
16:47Zoom in.
16:48Camera seven.
16:49No.
16:50They're not serving those muscles on my watch.
16:53No.
16:55No, no, no, no, no, no.
16:58This is dangerous stuff.
17:01Is this from my table?
17:04Is it right or left?
17:06Let's try it across.
17:06These smell so good.
17:07All right, ladies.
17:08I'll leave this right here for you, okay?
17:19Oh, dear.
17:20I'm so sorry.
17:21What?
17:22Is it?
17:23Oh, you're empty?
17:23I'm so sorry.
17:24No, I'm not messing with you.
17:26He took the food.
17:27He took my muscles.
17:28Ladies and gentlemen, we'll see you in the morning.
17:28We'll catch those.
17:28We'll catch those.
17:28We'll catch those.
17:29He's just goals for the parable food.
17:32OK.
17:40They're not right.
17:41I'm so sorry.
17:46No, I'm not messing.
17:47Is it OK?
17:49Is that going to Ramsey or I'm a tripping?
17:50I guess he beat you?
17:50But he took the food.
17:52He took my muscles.
17:53You can turn it off.
17:54Ronnie, Mina, you can turn everything off.
17:56Ladies and gentlemen, would you mind putting your knife and fork down, please right now?
18:01Would you mind leaving no to-go boxes?
18:05Nothing to be taken out of this restaurant ladies become around please
18:10Thank you so much
18:13My whole body chicken
18:16First of all
18:17This is not a laughing matter. This is real. I'm nervous. I have Gordon in here
18:21He's known to be a hard ass and to lay those hard truths on people, so I can't even imagine
18:26what he's gonna say
18:27There's something you all should know
18:30I'll be honest with you
18:31You'll think you're taking part on a restaurant refresh show
18:38But I've been watching you for a long time every corner this restaurant I've been studying your each and every
18:44move
18:45undercover and above that I
18:48Have an insider
18:51That's giving me privileged information and
18:55Trust me they've told me what's really going on. I'm surprised
18:59You know I communicate with these girls. We talk every day. It's like
19:04Y'all be doing stuff like this?
19:06I've watched you work
19:09I've gone through everything and there's a tray of muscles
19:13Under that girl in the low boy and half of them are open
19:17What does it mean when a muscle is open stay it? That's right. And what does that do to a
19:24customer?
19:26sick
19:27Possibly food poisoning nausea
19:31diarrhea
19:33Convulsions and severe severe food poisoning
19:38This was millimeters away
19:41From a customer's mouth
19:44This
19:45Disgusting is embarrassing. It's supposed to be a nice restaurant. I am not around
19:53Stay there two seconds
19:56He came in and just let loose he's not wrong. There are places where we cut corners that we shouldn't
20:03have I was in here last night
20:07Just smell that
20:11Ladies when chicken sits in all that
20:16Disgusting blood and it's gone green and
20:20And slimy you know that's gone. Yes, you know that is gone
20:26Ronnie
20:28Studying the resumes means experience your experience in the military. That's you at your best
20:35No
20:36And then watching the behavior
20:39What does this say with a open pan kitchen tables are literally inches away from you?
20:46They can see me they're watching everything the way you guys go at each other
20:53In a tiny 25 seater
20:56Which should be lines outside the door we've given up
21:02It's all four of you is it just you dumb who is it help me?
21:08I mean I could speak for them I feel like they just all here is a job just coming in
21:12here punching the clock for a check
21:13This is just kind of what it is now
21:16Earlier there was french fries you knocked over behind that line and then we could just continue working in it
21:22and there's rats everywhere
21:23We have to be tidy right we've got to stay clean. I agree
21:28This restaurants is in desperate need
21:32Of a turnaround
21:35You have lost your way
21:37Given up and most importantly accepting
21:42Mediocracy
21:43Oh
21:45We've lost that touch ladies
21:48Can I have a word with the owner on her own can you guys go and get some fresh air,
21:52please sit down dump
21:56Dear oh dear
21:59I got a spit
22:00Guys I want you out and leave me please put your cameras down out all of you
22:07What to do with TV now
22:11Someone contacted me contacted him yeah I wonder it couldn't have been like a random customer right else probably someone
22:17you know we don't know the insider wanted us to get help though
22:22Take me back to the beginning who came up with the name me
22:24It's a great name but there's nothing pretty about our performance
22:29You know I'll get on them about you know the same thing like you said the cleanliness of the kitchen
22:34I'll be like on top of them. It's like if I'm paying y'all and I'm not getting paid
22:40And what we in for totally between you and I financially what work how far back up are we
22:46Like a hundred and seventy thousand
22:51And what would it mean to close this place
22:56I don't know
23:02Come on
23:03That's why I just tried to keep it going because I definitely didn't want to feel like I worked so
23:10hard day and just give it up
23:16I don't know
23:22When I started this I love to cook I love cooking and then I feel like
23:29The business side of things
23:32Took away my love for being creative
23:37I would rather just set them up for the day and leave and go home and cook my own food
23:42at home
23:42In my own kitchen in my house where I feel more comfortable and I feel happy
23:47I only keep it open for
23:50The few people I feel like they don't have nowhere else to go
23:55That's not the way to run a business
23:56I know
23:57You're not a charity
24:00You're the one that's sinking
24:04All the money that I spent
24:06How could I allow this to happen to my own business
24:09Like I worked so hard to have this
24:11You know I made a lot of bad decisions but it ruined
24:15It just ruined my love
24:16It ruined me
24:17But when your team see you giving up
24:21You know when you should be the leader
24:23How do you expect them
24:24To stand strong?
24:26Because they're just going to follow suit
24:27They're seeing you serve food on chip plates with plastic
24:33Silverware
24:33And so in their minds they're done
24:36The business is done
24:37So we're just going through the motions
24:38And you're paying for it
24:39We need to find
24:40How this thing
24:41Start up and get back to that
24:43We're in the
24:43My darling
24:45We are on our knees
24:48Right now I just
24:49I just don't know
24:50If it can happen
24:51Like I don't know
24:52Like
24:54Me on my own
24:55Yes, but
24:55If they're not willing to jump in
24:57And be professional
24:58And just do the right way
24:59Then
24:59This is gonna be a waste of time
25:03Oh my goodness
25:05This is so upsetting
25:07You know
25:08When you see great ideas
25:11Disappear like this
25:13And it's their own self doing
25:15It's so painful
25:16The insider is right
25:17These girls have lost their way
25:19And more importantly
25:20They very clearly have given up
25:22You okay?
25:24Yeah, I'll be okay
25:25But
25:25I'm not saying that y'all don't care
25:27Or y'all don't appreciate
25:28Or got the job
25:28Or like the job
25:29But I just kind of feel like
25:30I can't do it by myself
25:32If they didn't care
25:33They didn't want to be here
25:34But I'm only as good as my team
25:36And it's like
25:36If they not really gonna do
25:38What we need to do
25:38Then what's the point?
25:39Then get rid of your team
25:40And get another one
25:41Don't get rid of me
25:42Cause I'm gonna do what I need to do
25:43Don't nobody else like Ronnie
25:45Everybody that you hired
25:46Don't like Ronnie
25:47You can't get rid of me
25:48You did it
25:48You made the muscles
25:50You didn't check them
25:51You wanna know why?
25:52Because y'all always
25:53To do your job
25:55I'm blaming you for this one
25:57Why?
25:57What did I say?
25:58I said we do not have muscles
25:59Yes we do
26:00Back there had Charles
26:01Do them like y'all
26:01And I didn't want him to do them
26:03What are they doing?
26:28That's what you said
26:30Ladies come over
26:30Please
26:33The insider is right
26:34You have lost your way
26:37Well, look at the years of experience
26:39Oh my goodness me
26:42I've seen you bitching
26:43I've seen you cussing each other out
26:45I've seen you arguing
26:46In front of customers
26:48that needs to go.
26:51We need some team spirit in here.
26:53Yes.
26:53In unity.
26:54Yes.
26:55So, first thing tomorrow morning,
26:57I want to see one, two, three, four of you
27:00outside of here together with me.
27:03I'll see you in the morning.
27:04All right.
27:05The Pretty Girl's cook staff argue
27:07as soon as they step into the restaurant.
27:08So, I need to remind them that they are a team.
27:11My insider told me Dom relaxes and resets with yoga.
27:14So, today, we are building teamwork
27:16outside of the kitchen.
27:17Welcome.
27:18Thank you so much.
27:19This is incredible.
27:20Ideal for the situation we've got.
27:22Pretty Girl's cook.
27:23It's like a pressure cooker.
27:25And it's about to implode.
27:26And they don't understand the importance
27:29of getting realigned, reconnecting,
27:31and sort of trying to rediscover that passion.
27:34Yoga is great for that.
27:36My idea of relaxing is doing triathletes.
27:40And so, I'll be honest, I've been to a yoga studio twice,
27:42and that was to pick up my daughter.
27:43Okay.
27:44Well, we'll keep it very beginner-friendly.
27:46Hey, ladies.
27:48Good morning.
27:49Good morning.
27:50Shoes off.
27:50Come over.
27:51Let's do Dom and Diamond come over here.
27:53Okay.
27:54Please.
27:54Ronnie and Mina there.
27:57We're going to start in a seated position.
27:59So, whatever position you'd like, we're going to set one small intention,
28:04and we're actually going to share these out loud.
28:07What is your intention?
28:08To be more positive with my approach.
28:12Beautiful.
28:13Just being happy.
28:14Yeah.
28:15Self-discipline.
28:16Do you have one?
28:17Multiple.
28:18I'll start off with one.
28:20For pretty girls, could it be aligned.
28:23Aligned.
28:24Together.
28:25You're going to come onto hands and knees here.
28:28Rise that knee.
28:29You're in a low lunge here.
28:31Inhale, reach the arms all the way up.
28:33You're going to actually grab the hand of the person next to you.
28:36Yeah, you've got to trust the person next to you to hold you.
28:39On that exhale, lift that knee all the way up into the chest
28:42without letting it touch the floor.
28:43Breathe in.
28:45I think doing yoga is going to be good for the rest of the round
28:47because we were both helping each other a lot.
28:49Like, I haven't seen Ronnie smile this much in 365 days.
28:54Sit low into that chair.
28:56It helps if you smile, too, I promise.
28:59How you doing, Gordon?
29:00Yeah.
29:03On that inhale, tilt your chest forward.
29:06Chest goes down, leg goes high.
29:09Let your heart rate settle.
29:11Hands come to the side.
29:12Turn to the person next to you.
29:14Say thank you for being here.
29:15Thank you for your energy.
29:17Thank you for being here.
29:19That's amazing, Victoria.
29:21Honestly, that was incredible.
29:23Good to see you two working together.
29:26Dom, I had a really good catch up with you yesterday, one-on-one.
29:29Will you grab a coffee?
29:30Mm-hmm.
29:31And I just want to spend five minutes with the girls.
29:33Yes.
29:33If you mind, and I'll see you in a bit.
29:34Yes, absolutely.
29:35Excellent.
29:36I'm calm now.
29:37You know, I feel centered.
29:38I feel peaceful.
29:39I feel happy.
29:40I'm grateful because of our team building, like, our getting back as one.
29:45Mina, the relationship between you and Ronnie is so crucial.
29:49You've got customers literally inches away from you.
29:51Watching the way you work, it's like you're running two separate kitchens.
29:55Today, you are literally leaning on each other.
29:58It's the opposite to what I saw you in terms of performance in that kitchen and the strength of both
30:02of you together.
30:02And it's so crazy because in 2019, we were the closest out of everyone else, like...
30:08So we have to find that, getting reconnected, getting realigned.
30:11Yes.
30:12There's a lot going on.
30:13We're in a deep hole.
30:14Are you fully aware of the financial implications in terms of how far behind we are?
30:19My insider told me that she goes into her own pocket to pay you.
30:23She would probably give you the clothes off her back.
30:25In the middle of service, I think I spilled something on my shirt, and she took it off and said,
30:29here, just put this on.
30:30I have another shirt on.
30:32She's always been that way, selfless, always wanting to help.
30:35You all need to be communicating better and then pick up the slack for one another.
30:39So we want to see that change in both of you and have you realigned.
30:44And two of you together in harmony will be fantastic.
30:48Change people's lives for the better.
30:50Yeah.
30:51I 1,000% believe that Gordon can help us get back to where we were.
30:56A load was taken off.
30:58I couldn't stop smiling.
30:59I just...
31:00I was ready.
31:02Oh, man.
31:03Anyone stiff?
31:04Yeah.
31:05That's the longest I've ever sat still in my entire life, by the way.
31:09Here she is.
31:10Come back.
31:10Feeling good?
31:11Yes.
31:12Thank you for a great morning.
31:14Let's have a group hug.
31:15Come on, Dom.
31:16Charge it up.
31:16Let's go.
31:17Oh, my goodness me.
31:20That was my first and my last yoga class, okay?
31:31Dom's lost her passion for cooking.
31:33So we are making Pretty Girls Cook a place she can be passionate about.
31:37A beautiful dining room and a kitchen that's been deep cleaned.
31:40All to inspire Dom to get back to what she loves, cooking.
31:48PGC 2.0.
31:50Pretty Girls Cook.
31:52We lined it with brand new equipment and fresh produce.
31:55Here we go.
31:56I'm so excited.
31:58It's a big one for me.
32:03Oh, my God.
32:06Man, those girls are happy.
32:07So nice to see them smiling.
32:08It's smiling.
32:09This is sexy.
32:11It is.
32:12Now we've transformed it into a proper, intimate restaurant.
32:17Nobody's about to complain about these chairs.
32:21Oh, my God.
32:23Oh, my God.
32:23The packs.
32:25I absolutely love this.
32:28Oh, this is nice.
32:30Honey butter toast.
32:31You still looking at the menu.
32:32Yes, I am, because I'm excited about this.
32:35Wow.
32:36It's so nice to elevate the menu because their skill set is already high.
32:41The most important thing for me is that the girls are cooking fresh food.
32:45I'm going to go in there and get them tasting their new menu.
32:52May I?
32:53Yes!
32:54Oh, my God.
32:56Oh, my God.
32:57Thank you so much.
32:58Come on.
32:58He hit all the markers.
33:00The food, the beautiful presentations, the plating.
33:03It's everything we need.
33:05Chef.
33:06Oh, my God.
33:08Oh, my goodness me.
33:09I love this.
33:09New chopping boards, new plates, new knife and fork.
33:13Hexdad pots and pans.
33:14Look at the menu together.
33:17Price points are down, but profitability is going to be up because we should be turning these tables.
33:22Right.
33:23I've designed a smaller menu that really shows off your skill set.
33:26I think grandma would love it.
33:28Grab a plate each.
33:30Dig in.
33:31Try those little croquettes.
33:32They're good.
33:33Oh, my God.
33:34There you go.
33:34That's amazing, actually.
33:35Aren't they lovely?
33:36Beautiful.
33:36And the sweet potato fries.
33:37Oh, my God.
33:39Mmm.
33:40There you go.
33:40Oh, my God.
33:41Looking at the strength of this restaurant, it's kitchen-led.
33:45My latest opening.
33:47There's only 12 seats at the counter.
33:48Okay.
33:49And the chefs are serving the food.
33:50And that's what I want to see you do tonight.
33:53The only big difference is my chefs aren't as pretty as you guys.
33:56Okay?
33:58Are we feeling aligned?
33:59Yes.
34:00Are we feeling together?
34:01Yes.
34:02Let's get Pretty Girls Cook back on the map.
34:05Yes.
34:05Yes.
34:06Let's go.
34:06I'm ready.
34:07I'm ready.
34:08With unity restored and the restaurant upgrade complete, it's time to get their leader back in the kitchen.
34:14Don, come over, please.
34:17Grandma was a big influence, right?
34:18Mm-hmm.
34:18What's the dish that you always think back to that ignited that flame?
34:23Um, I think the first time I've ever made, like, my fried red snapper Escovich.
34:27Once I made it my first time, I was like, oh, I really know how to cook.
34:30When was the last time you cooked it?
34:34Girls, stay there.
34:35Stay there two seconds.
34:43Let's re-light that fire, yes?
34:46Yes.
34:46Okay, let's go, girl.
34:50I'll be honest, Dom, you're the only person I haven't seen cooked yet since I've been here.
34:55I know.
34:55Yes.
34:56I was thinking that.
34:57Peppers, onions in, right?
34:59It's important to cook these with no color, right, because we're going to put the marinade in there.
35:02Yes.
35:03Just let that sweat for a little bit.
35:04Cooking with Gordon definitely ignited my passion.
35:08I was happy being in my kitchen again.
35:10Yeah.
35:10Is that up?
35:12Yeah, there you go.
35:12Do you want to put the marinade in there now?
35:14Yes.
35:15It looks amazing.
35:18So you've got the sweet, the sour there.
35:20Oh, this is really good.
35:21Yes.
35:21All right, let's get that.
35:22I'll hold the tray, slide that on there.
35:23Probably.
35:24Peppers, yes.
35:25A little bit of salt on there.
35:26Yes.
35:27My insider told me you had this passion.
35:29It's just so nice to see you using it, yes?
35:32Yes.
35:32Literally.
35:32Oh, my gosh, it looks so good.
35:36That's you on a plate, right?
35:37Yes.
35:38That looks amazing.
35:39I know it looks good, tastes better.
35:41It's so good to see that reignited passion.
35:44Sometimes you need somebody to light a fire under your ass.
35:47Thank you so much.
35:48Now I'm like, I want to cook.
35:49I'm like, get out the kitchen.
35:50I want y'all to all get out.
35:51Like, I want to get in here by myself.
35:52Like, I'm just so happy again.
35:54Right.
35:55Let me get the girls out.
35:57Ladies!
35:57Y'all ready to go?
35:58Yes.
35:59Dom, come around.
35:59That snapper was delicious, by the way.
36:02Someone's got their mojo back.
36:03OK, there's one more thing I need to talk to you about.
36:07There's someone that was incredibly honest with me,
36:09someone that told me everything that was going on,
36:12someone that was struggling to be open and honest
36:15because of the love they have for the owner and this place.
36:21And they were worried that Dom would feel betrayed.
36:27And everyone's just looking around.
36:29No one knows who it is.
36:31I think it could be Diamond
36:33because she was newest on the team.
36:37Would you like to meet the insider?
36:40Sure.
36:42I definitely don't think it was one of my chefs
36:45because you being an insider is like you telling on yourself.
36:48Is the insider here?
36:49Oh, gosh.
37:06Would you like to meet the insider?
37:10Sure.
37:11Would the insider reveal themselves?
37:20The queen has arrived.
37:22Oh, my goodness.
37:25What?
37:26Like, you, like.
37:29Oh, my gosh.
37:30The insider was Mina the whole time.
37:32The queen has arrived.
37:34Does she like to save?
37:35Mina, I know how hard that was.
37:37Yes.
37:38And I heard you loud and clear.
37:40Does Dom know how desperate the restaurant's become?
37:43It's been times that we've came in
37:45in the restaurant early
37:45and we caught Dom crying in her car.
37:47So she sees it.
37:48She just really won't admit it to herself.
37:49Has she given up?
37:51She's lost her passion for cooking.
37:53I love you so much.
37:54So it definitely was hard
37:57because I felt like I was kind of betraying you.
37:58It's okay.
37:59You know we don't do that.
38:00But I just had to.
38:02We need the help.
38:03I think they're shocked.
38:04They didn't think it was me.
38:05No one thought it was me.
38:07And whilst it was so hard for you to open up,
38:09it was because of the love
38:12and the want for you to be successful.
38:14I appreciate it.
38:15I thank you.
38:18I love you.
38:19I love you too.
38:20I would have never had expected
38:22for her to be the insider.
38:24Oh, yeah.
38:26I didn't think that she was as invested.
38:29So for her to do something like that for me,
38:31it's very special.
38:32Pretty girls can hug.
38:34Yes.
38:35Pretty girls can get on the same page.
38:37Yes.
38:37And pretty girls can run a restaurant.
38:39Yes.
38:40Come on.
38:41Let's go.
38:41Let's go.
38:43Let's go.
38:43Let's go.
38:45Let's go.
38:48You guys can follow me.
38:51Thank you guys so much for coming in.
38:53You stay on saute.
38:54I'll start off with the X.
38:55I'll double down for the grill as well.
38:57Love that.
38:58The fact that Mina and Ronnie are talking
38:59and communicating.
39:00It's a great sign.
39:01Pretty girls cooking house.
39:03Is this the same kitchen?
39:04Mina and Ronnie dancing together like that?
39:08Bread cakes and strendels.
39:10It feels amazing to be aligned with Mina.
39:14It was time to buckle down and lean on each other
39:16and just work with each other.
39:17We were communicating and moving back and forth.
39:20It just was amazing.
39:24You're welcome.
39:24Is she serving?
39:25Yes, she is.
39:27Hi.
39:28So we have your shrimp toast and your crab cakes?
39:30Love that.
39:31Enjoy, ladies.
39:34I am extremely proud to be working in this new restaurant.
39:37I never enjoyed being at work as I do now with the new menu.
39:42Oh my goodness, mate.
39:43That seafood looks delicious.
39:44Fresh mussels, incredibly juicy and 100% fresh.
39:48But just look how clean the girls are working.
39:51They're cooking, they're cleaning, they're wiping.
39:53Their practices are back to where they belong.
39:56Nice to see the food not coming out
39:58with that stall-bought, squeezy-bottled crap in there.
40:02Now we've got proper food.
40:04Two orders.
40:05I'm going to start these two right here.
40:06And now the team are communicating properly.
40:08We'll never see rotten seafood served here again.
40:11Where can I help y'all at?
40:13Y'all need somebody else to export.
40:14I could stay in and do the grill in the middle.
40:16Okay, that's cool.
40:18Dom is going back behind the line.
40:20Customers can see just how hands-on she is.
40:23Guess I'm just freestyling.
40:25Killing it.
40:26I'm going to be in this kitchen with y'all now.
40:28Your bitch is bad.
40:28Excuse me.
40:29I know y'all can't curse.
40:30I'm sorry, but she's bad.
40:33It's so nice to see Dom smiling again.
40:35This is too good to miss.
40:38Dom is a whole new person now.
40:40I know that this means the world to her.
40:42And she has a new restaurant.
40:43It's like a fresh start for her.
40:45This is good to have my friend back.
40:47It's really amazing.
40:50Good evening.
40:51Hello.
40:52Good job.
40:53Oh, my goodness me.
40:54We're all on a different level.
40:56Yeah, you can taste the love in that.
40:57Yeah, you can taste the love.
40:59Something's going on with the grill.
41:00The grill's not working.
41:03No, look.
41:03There's no flame.
41:05You guys?
41:06You okay?
41:07The grill down.
41:08Damn, it's gone down.
41:09How long has it been down?
41:10It just popped off.
41:11I went back there and checked it.
41:13Okay.
41:14Popped.
41:15But I turned the line off.
41:16Gotcha.
41:16The damn hose on my gas line fell out.
41:20Now I'm like, what am I going to do about the oysters?
41:22Like, they get charbroiled.
41:23What we do now is just literally, we'll get them done in a pan.
41:27That's fine.
41:28And the oysters, do you have a grill?
41:30Mesh.
41:31Gordon walks in and he helps save me.
41:34It's an easy fix.
41:34So, stick that on there like that.
41:37He throws the steaks in a pan.
41:39Just put the oysters right on the flame.
41:41This pan is amazing.
41:43That's some real cooking.
41:43I've improvised, but not like that before.
41:45That was different.
41:46It's always a solution, my darling.
41:48I see.
41:48Every night that something goes wrong in my kitchen, you know that?
41:51Yes.
41:51Always.
41:57That's good.
41:58Yeah.
41:59We should have ordered two.
42:03How are you feeling?
42:04Good.
42:05Seeing you literally just jump behind the line like that.
42:09The most important thing is they're communicating.
42:11Right.
42:11Okay.
42:11How are you feeling?
42:12It was good.
42:13It was fun.
42:14I think the people liked it too.
42:16They didn't like it.
42:16They loved it.
42:17They loved it.
42:17But we're there.
42:18We're back on track.
42:18Yes, we are.
42:19Happy?
42:19Yes, I'm very happy.
42:21Well done.
42:21We got it.
42:22Pretty girls to be cooking.
42:23Pretty girls are on fire.
42:24On fire.
42:25What you thought you knew is over.
42:28That's the old pretty girl.
42:30Thank you, God.
42:30Y'all about to hop on this roller coaster and take off.
42:32Period.
42:33I'm not walking in saying the queen is here no more.
42:36It's going to be pretty girl cooking a house.
42:38Pretty girl's cooking a house.
42:40Hey, pretty girl's cooking a house.
42:41Pretty girl's cooking a house.
42:43That's going to be our song, y'all.
42:49Oh, boy.
42:51Look at that.
42:52That's gross.
42:53My cooking is very sloppy.
42:55Oh, no.
42:56Wash your bloody hands.
42:57This place is a sorry state of affairs.
43:00That's your opinion.
43:01Oh, my God.
43:02Listen carefully.
43:04I've never seen anything so disorganized in my entire life.
43:08Shh.
43:09Wait, we don't curse.
43:10Shh.
43:10If you saw what I saw, you'd do more than cursing.
43:12Trust me.
