01:48This energy rift will shock nearby enemies
01:50dealing bonus shield damage.
01:52Already spending in to work on those rifts there.
01:56As you mentioned, this is Meltdown.
01:57So the point of this game mode is to get your minions
02:00into the enemy team's incinerator.
02:03You'll score points that way.
02:05You can see green team already with a pretty hefty lead
02:07as you level up here.
02:10Yep, I'm going to back out for just a moment,
02:12take some helixes and recharge my own shields.
02:15Hopefully the enemies won't sneak up on me here.
02:17We're going to take enemies slow...
02:19Mortar slow enemies, rather, when they're hit.
02:22And the shards have just spawned on the map,
02:24so let's actually go farm a couple of those.
02:26shiftless cells helping the team here.
02:28Shards are very important in Battleborn.
02:32Very, very important in Meltdown as there's a lot of places
02:36you can spend into.
02:37There's turrets.
02:38There's places where you can build into healing towers,
02:43as well as logistics.
02:45Let's back off right here, DB, and grab some shards real quick.
02:49I don't have any health regen right now,
02:52and unfortunately we don't have an Ombra or a Mikko on the team.
02:54Can I tase these? I can tase the shards.
02:57Look at that.
02:57Nicely done.
02:59And it's a full tase into the destruction of the shards there.
03:04You're going to pick those up, and as you can see,
03:06down in the bottom left-hand corner, Nicky is stacking the shards up to 792.
03:10That's going to be at least enough for one of these turrets.
03:14You can see 300 shards for the turret on the right.
03:16This is going to help lock down this area,
03:18help keep his minions safe while destroying the minions of the other team.
03:22There's a kill there on Montana.
03:24Yeah, that's hard to take down Montana.
03:26He's a very, very bulky character.
03:28Now there's a couple ways you can support the team in this game, DB,
03:30and of course there's a badass for everyone.
03:33You have Ombra, for example, who heals people's shields,
03:36or heals people's health, rather,
03:39but Khalees here is really good at taking people down with the taser.
03:42Love it.
03:43And healing shields rather than healing health.
03:45You're not running. You're not running from Khalees.
03:48And so you went with the chair slam.
03:51So using Khalees' shock taser in the air will cause Khalees' battle chair to slam the ground.
03:56This will deplete his chair energy and deal damage to enemies around him.
04:00Right here, me and Scott are going to gang up on Benedict here.
04:03He won't get away. Picking up the assist right there.
04:05And Montana is back for some more.
04:07Let's see if the old man and his battle furniture can take him out.
04:11Ooh, got stunned right there with a Montana charge.
04:14But that's all right. I think I can fish him out.
04:16We are out leveling him right now. Montana's still level one.
04:18You went into a little roly-poly mode there as you were stunned.

05:28And let's go back over here, see if I can drop some shields from my teammates.

05:51They're a little harder to take down, but they will allow you.

06:57Pick up our fourth Helix ability.
07:00So you went with Rift Network.
07:02So energy rifts will now link to each other when near each other.

07:06Their output will be increased times the number of rifts in the network.
07:10So you can put all three of them together there.
07:12And it's going to boost their abilities.
07:15That's pretty awesome.

07:34Right now creating a very nice safe spot for his team to work from.

07:53So I'm just going to drop a black hole to suck everything in and destroy it.

07:57And that is the ultimate there.
08:00Yeah, that ultimate ability sucks enemies in and deals damage.
08:03I'm going to make sure that I keep moving my rifts up here as we advance on the enemy team.

09:02And he's got those rifts, the mortars, and the black hole.

09:09Right now I've been seeing that he's got a very fluid approach.
09:13And this is your first time playing him.
09:14So I can only see it being even more fluid once you master his mobility.

09:20And his abilities there.
09:21I feel like he's not the easiest character to pick up probably.
09:25But mastering his flight is going to make for some awesome gameplay.
09:29A lot of fun.
09:31Alright, so you're laying down those rifts.
09:35And it looks like they're within range of each other to be able to connect and be a network.
09:40And do extra damage.
09:41Where are you going next with your helix?
09:44On six, we're about to get to six in a second DB.
09:46Let's drop that black hole first.
09:47We're going on the right side on six.
09:49Speaking of which, there we go.

09:51I'm just going to shoot in the black hole.
09:53So you're going to go with expanded mortar capacity.

09:57So you're going to fire additional energy mortars now.

10:08He is a very tanky character.
10:10So I'm going to need to be careful.
10:12Boulder might not be such a bad pairing with, say, a support character.

10:20Let's go ahead and grab this turret.
10:21Real sneaky, like, help that the enemy team doesn't notice.

11:23So you guys just hit 250 points.
11:25This is half way through the game.
11:27Which means that your grinders have moved towards the back of the map.
11:30The enemy team at 250 as well.
11:32Their grinders have moved.
11:33So now the playing field has been expanded on both sides.
11:38A lot more room to push your minions.
11:40But a lot more room to defend as well.
11:43And you finally went down there.
11:44Yeah, Marquis just managed to snipe me right there.
11:46I was trying to drop a black hole right at that choke point.
11:49so that the enemies couldn't get through the little minions.
11:51Yeah.
11:51But unfortunately they were guarding you.
11:52And I got just a little bit too aggressive right there.
11:55So I'm going to be focused more on healing my team up.
11:59Rather than going on the offense right now.

12:04I'm disappointed in your seventh helix choice.

12:10So if we're basing on skills.

12:13Energy mortars now fire all at the same time.

12:25Killing an enemy with energy mortars instantly recharges Cleese's shield.

12:33I'm going for a very balanced set here rather than full shields or full offense.
12:37If we ever put a competitive team together, Nicky, at the gate, it's going to be called

12:50This is another great fight.
12:53So much going on here in the middle of the map as these guys fight over minions.

13:06And that Boulder still tanking.
13:09Montana looks like he went down finally.
13:11But it was really taking the full orange team to work on Montana and Boulder.
13:16Very tanky team composition on the other side.
13:18Yeah, you know, I called up Gearbox last game.
13:20DB told them to turn it up.
13:21And they're really starting to turn it up right now.
13:23It's pretty hard to take out Boulder right here.
13:25And Montana.
13:26I got two tanks.
13:27And I'm not an offensive base character.
13:28So I got to wait for one of my guys to get over here and try to take him out.
13:32I do have Scott right here on Oscar.
13:33Mike trying to take him out.
13:34They do have shields as well.
13:36Overshield on Boulder now.
13:38This is going to be a tough nut to crack.
13:39Here comes in some of the rest of the team as well.

14:29Let's see if I can tase these fools.

14:33Taser's got a little more range than I thought.
14:35You can tase to death, bro.
14:36I didn't even know you could tase someone to death.
14:38Oh, yeah.
14:39As long as they don't pay attention until you have the taser on them, they're taking that direct damage the
14:44entire time.
14:45Oh, and right here, we are fighting near my supply station.
14:49So that's going to give me a little bit of health as I engage in combat.
14:52Montana's going to try to take down our giant minion right here.
14:54That's worth 20 points.
14:55I want that to get into the enemy incinerator.
14:58So I need to take out Montana.
15:00Yeah, potentially a bit of an over-commit from the team here.
15:02They are very tanky, but not tanky enough.
15:04Boulder and Montana both go down.
15:06But that minion, very low on health.
15:08You're going to have a tough time getting it through there.
15:10This may take your team escorting them all the way to the back.
15:13Yeah, let's see if we can keep them alive.
15:15And while we have a little bit of downtime left on our Helix right here, DB.
15:19And that's brains before brawn.
15:21Cleese's maximum shield strength is increased.

15:42This is going to be a good fight with a lot of enemies coming right off the spawn.
15:45So they're going to be nice and healthy.

15:49And it does pull them in.

16:40and put down shields and heals around the map for my team.

16:45Supply station, one of the many ways you can spend those shards.

16:52So this is Meltdown.
16:53This is a multiplayer mode.
16:55Battleborn can be played in single player.
16:57It can be played in cooperative story mode.
16:59and, of course, multiplayer mode as you're seeing right here right now.
17:04There's Benedict, another character who can fly around.
17:05Let's drop some borders right on him.
17:07Oh!
17:07Or the solid kill right there.
17:10And here comes an enemy, Miko.
17:11Get smashed.
17:14Pulling it down with the turret.
17:15I love to see that.
17:16And you've got a big minion coming in here.
17:18Yep.
17:19I'm going to try to protect that.
17:20Oh!
17:20I took a massive hit right there from our team.
17:22We're going to back up for a moment.
17:23Give those shields back online.
17:24Minion went down as well.

17:27With that healthy rift, I'm going to give some more health to my rifts.
17:31And I'm trying to fly away here without getting shot down.
17:34Yeah, as you said, this gives a max health of each rift a bonus, a buff to that.
17:40So they will be more powerful.
17:42There you go with the logistics.
17:43That's going to help you with the shield there.
17:46And let's just get my shield back up and online before I go support my team.
17:50I'm looking pretty low, but I want to keep my team alive here.

17:55Let's go find this giant shard.
17:56Oh, it looks like the enemy team is trying to take it.
17:58And the enemy Mikko is up here, stealing my shards.

18:11You actually can't redirect yourself in the air.

18:37So that's the big bonus of setting up these stations.
18:41You have this supply station to fall back to, and that could have been a completely different
18:46story if you didn't have that.
18:48Yeah, let's go ahead and heal myself up.

18:52My L1 ability is off of cooldowns.
18:54Let's go ahead and drop some...
18:55Nice move off the wall there.

19:13Yep, putting a little bit of black hole right there so my team can gang up on those

19:17And let's go ahead and grab the square root of pain to finish off my build here DB.
19:21So this causes a friendly energy rift in range of the black hole to become unstable and explode.
19:27That's pretty awesome.
19:28Oh, and speaking of exploding, I may explode here in a second if I don't dip out.
19:33Take a little bit of heat.
19:34Flying into the wall!

19:38Okay, we somehow managed to get out of that one.
19:40I do see Miko following behind me on the mini-map.
19:43Yeah.
19:43But he's not a very high damage character, which is why he couldn't finish me off right there.

21:20And that was Cleese.
21:21Yeah, one of the more complex characters in the game, I think, to learn DB.
21:24But a lot of fun, especially when you can fly.
21:26Have you ever wanted to be an old man in a couch, flying around the battlefield with a taser?
21:31I mean, that's my day to day, but sure, yeah.
21:33It's a badass for everyone, including DB.
21:35Not everybody can live DB's day to day, so there's a way to do it here virtually in Battleborn
21:40with Cleese in the tactical battle chair.
