00:00I feel like the right moment to show your diagnosis, even though it was four years ago.
00:04Well, it was after my second child was born.
00:07So it was about three and a half years ago and it was after she was born.
00:11And I think the idea of parenting challenges all of the very facets that, you know, ADHDs have.
00:20And I think it wasn't really a thing that I realised until I sat down with a male friend who
00:27had ADHD
00:28and he was setting up a company which was like a sort of multivitamin for people with ADHD,
00:33which is a brilliant idea and it's doing very well.
00:35But he was describing females and women who have children and them being diagnosed later in life.
00:42And he was telling me all this.
00:43And then I suddenly went, oh, just like me.
00:47It's like the light bulb moment.
00:49And then he gave me his doctor's.
00:51And he gave you a bill and said, give me a bill.
00:56And that was the thing that prompted me.
00:58And then I went and got a diagnosis from that.
01:00But before that, I hadn't I hadn't ever considered that I had ADHD.
01:04I'm an actress.
01:05I just thought I'm an actress and everyone's batshit crazy.
01:07I know.
01:08Did you really think that like this is part of me?
01:11I'm obviously outgoing or whatever it is.
01:13You know, you think that's normal for you.
01:15What was it about you?
01:16I can jump in here a bit because in that world, world that we inhabit.
01:21But to an extent, all types of behaviour are acceptable.
01:26Yeah, yeah.
01:26Much more so than in a structured environment.
01:29You know, until you're actually on the stage and you've got or in rehearsals.
01:32But it does allow you to be actually quite different and off the wall.
01:38Yeah.
01:38And it's encouraged in a while.
01:39Yeah, it is.
01:40Everything is amplified about being engaged.
01:41I think it's amplified.
01:42And emotions are big and emotions are sort of accessible quite easily.
01:47There has to be, don't there?
01:48So there's a reason why there's a lot of actors
01:51who do have ADHD because it's got the skills that you need.
01:54with ADHD.
01:54All right.
01:54We'll break it down.
01:55All right.
