00:00The Senegalese Football Federation was firm on Thursday.
00:04It said that Senegal's AFCON 2025 title cannot be taken away from the team.
00:10The Confederation of African Football ruled earlier this week that Senegal had forfeited
00:15the chaotic final to Morocco by walking off the playing field.
00:20We know very well that from a legal standpoint, Senegal cannot lose this match by forfeit.
00:28And we cannot take this title away from Senegal.
00:34Outraged, the Federation announced that it would bring the case before the Court of Arbitration
00:38for Sport.
00:40Senegal's Olympic and Sports Committee offered legal support to the Federation.
00:47The Olympic Committee is at your disposal so that some of our lawyers who know a lot about
00:52sports law can join the pool of lawyers that you have already established.
00:56So that today we can fight the battle at the Court of Arbitration for Sport so that victory
01:02can be returned to Senegal.
01:03And of that we are sure and we are certain.
01:05God willing, the Court of Arbitration for Sport will rule in our favour.
01:11Court proceedings at the Switzerland-based Court of Arbitration for Sport are lengthy.
01:16To reach a verdict in the case, it will likely take more than a year.
01:21Senegal's government has meanwhile called for an investigation into the Confederation of
01:25African Football for suspected corruption.
