00:01EU lawmakers have voted to cut the bloc's tariffs on U.S. goods to zero,
00:06as was agreed in a deal struck between the two parties last summer.
00:11The European Parliament's Trade Committee adopted the legislation on Thursday by 29 votes in favour,
00:18paving the way to eliminate EU duties on most U.S. industrial goods.
00:24Lawmakers had resisted the implementation of the deal which was struck last summer,
00:28as it was immediately followed by U.S. President Donald Trump's threats over Greenland,
00:33as well as fresh tariffs on EU goods.
00:36Although it is approved, the full adoption of the deal may only happen in April or May,
00:41as lawmakers still need to negotiate implementing legislation with EU member states.
00:47Amendments introduced by lawmakers could complicate talks with Capitals,
00:51including clauses that could make tariff cuts conditional on Washington meeting its commitments.
