00:00Corporate figure Victor Chin accused of involvement in maneuvers to force company takeovers allegedly
00:07involving Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officials is currently abroad, say police.
00:13Inspector General of Police Khaled Ismail said police are intensifying efforts to track down
00:19Chin with cooperation from overseas authorities. He added that they have found several matters
00:25requiring action under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act.
00:33On Monday, Bukit Aman confirmed that police raided several premises belonging to Chin in Kamensas, Langor
00:39and Sungailong, Kajang. Chin and his wife were not present during the raids.
00:45Khaled said the raids were conducted under AMLA in a joint operation with the Securities Commission Malaysia
00:50and that the investigations involved allegations of corporate misconduct and money laundering.
00:57Last week, the Cabinet ordered the police, SC, MECC and the Inland Revenue Board
01:02to investigate allegations that certain MECC officials were involved in maneuvers to force company takeovers.
