00:00PEGI 18
00:30And so, Corvo is like a man reflecting on the winter of his life.
00:35He's both the badass supernatural assassin we wanted him to be, and he's very thoughtful.
00:39And of course, Corvo is a foreigner. That's part of his character.
00:42He's originally from Sirkonos.
00:45At the start of Dishonored II, he's on the run from Dunwall Tower.
00:48This time he's going down into his native country.
00:51He's seeing Sirkonos again for the first time in a long time.
00:53He's seeing how it's changed under the Duke of Sirkonos.
00:57And so, it's a land that's familiar to him and unfamiliar at the same time.
01:02Corvo comes back with all his powers.
01:05And what we wanted to do is not only put them in the new engine,
01:08but also find interesting tweaks or improvements to them.
01:13It's interesting to look at Corvo's powers.
01:15He was a guy who was marked by the Outsider during the rat plague,
01:19when half the city was dead by plague.
01:21And so, he has Devouring Swarm.
01:23You can now upgrade it so that you have two swarms of rats.
01:26and larger swarms of rats.
01:28You can have a swarm that follows you around, High Piper style.
01:31And those are just some of the upgrades under Devouring Swarm.
01:34He's also a foreigner. He's from a different place.
01:36And he never quite fit in in Dunwall.
01:39And so, he has the power of possession,
01:41where he can literally embody someone else and walk around in their skin.
01:44We love possession. It's this ability that allows you to physically enter a character,
01:50or an animal at first, and exit somewhere else.
01:54So, you actually use the character or the animal as a vessel to move through the world.
01:58And we added some upgrades that allow you, for instance, to chain hosts.
02:02Another cool, kind of weird upgrade is that you're now allowed to possess corpses,
02:07if you choose this upgrade.
02:09Suddenly, it's not about movement.
02:11It's about creating hiding spots for yourself.
02:14Each time you knock someone down, or you kill him,
02:16it becomes a hiding place.
02:19One of Corvo's classic powers that fans absolutely love,
02:23because it's so crazy over the top, is bend time.
02:26Initially, he has the ability to slow time,
02:29and then he can upgrade it so he can stop time altogether.
02:31This time, we also allow you to spool time forward a little bit.
02:36Pressing a button or pulling a trigger,
02:37you can allow it to advance a little bit
02:39until things get exactly into the position that you want.
02:42It's very powerful.
02:44One of Corvo's signature powers from the first game is blink.
02:47It's sort of a short-range teleport.
02:49When we were working on the DLC for Dishonored 1,
02:52we gave out a kind of a redirected blink
02:55that allows you to move out into space, stop time, rotate,
03:00and continue your blink back in the direction you came,
03:02or in another direction.
03:03And so we knew that's one upgrade we wanted to add to Corvo
03:06for blink in the new game.
03:07And it really does allow players to explore their environment.
03:11It's not only about expanding the powers,
03:14but expanding them in a way that is fun,
03:16that allows for that kind of creative play.
03:19Plus the new system for the supernatural powers
03:21where we give upgrades for all of them
03:23and allow the player to go deeper on those
03:25and explore those mechanics
03:27and how they interact with stealth in combat situations.
03:30Players are really going to be torn.
03:32The new thing with Emily or the nostalgic thing with Corvo.
03:35Right now, if you asked me to choose between the two,
03:37I would be hard-pressed because I love them both.
03:39It's like choosing between your children.
03:41Grazie per la visione!
