00:21Hello, people, and welcome to the Authentic Authority Show.
00:30So, we're going on a series that is called The Battle Lines.
00:41The Battle Lines, he's talking about scribes and pharisees versus Christians.
00:50Who the scribes and pharisees are versus who the Christians are.
01:02The one thing, Christianity started in Antioch, not Antioch.
01:09Let's get that.
01:13Yeah, in the book of Acts.
01:17It's bizarre.
01:19Wait, let's go to the book of Matthew, chapter 23.
01:2523.
01:27I'm going to read verse 1, all the way to verse 36.
01:37Verse 1, this is part 1 of the series, from Authentic Authority, the Battle Lines.
01:46And so it says, then Jesus brought to the multitude of his disciples, saying,
01:55The scribes and the pharisees sit in Moses' seat.
02:04What this verse is saying, is that he tried to act like Moses, to be like Moses.
02:15Therefore, whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their own, to
02:29their works.
02:30For they say and do not do.
02:36That they say and do not do.
02:44Honestly, try to tell someone how to do.
02:48The scribes and the pharisees try to tell someone how to do things.
02:54They tell them, they tell them to do things without explaining to them, or helping them, or how to do
03:02it.
03:05As it goes forth, it reads,
03:09For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men's shoulders.
03:15They themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
03:19And they will not help anyone.
03:25Verse 5 was said,
03:26For all the works they do to be seen by men.
03:31Seen by other people.
03:34They make their phala-caris, phala-caris, phala-caris, phala-caris, broad and large, the borders of their gardens.
03:53They love the best places at feasts, best seats in the synagogues, greetings in the marketplaces.
04:04Just to be called by men, Rabbi, Rabbi, which means great teacher.
04:12But you, do not be called great teacher.
04:17For one is your teacher.
04:20The Christ.
04:21He is Christ himself.
04:22And you are all brethren.
04:25Do not call anyone earth.
04:30Your father, who is your rabbi.
04:34Rabbi.
04:36For one is your heavenly father.
04:43For one.
04:45For one is your heavenly father.
04:46For one is your heavenly father.
04:46He who is in heaven.
04:49Do not be called teachers.
04:51For one is your teacher.
04:55Do not be called teachers, Rabbi.
05:00Or great teachers, Rabbi.
05:05For one is your teacher.
05:08The Christ.
05:12I'm going to stop at verse 11, which says,
05:19For he who is greatest among you shall be your servant.
05:24He who is greatest among you shall be your servant.
