13:22AFN has multiple reports and official statements have confirmed that some numbers of Nigeria soldiers
13:28have been killed by Islamic State of West Africa province, ISWOP, since the beginning of this year.
13:34Thus, the multiple reports suggest, more than 180 Nigeria soldiers may have been killed in
13:41just 73 days into this new year 2026, which further indicated that an average of 2 to 3
13:48soldiers are being killed daily in Nigeria by the ISWOP terrorists who appeared to have
13:54increased the daily offensive attacks on Nigeria soldiers since the US-Israel joint war against
14:01Iran began on February 28, 2026.
14:05Although some close watchers accused the Nigeria military of always downplaying or reporting a
14:10very lower numbers of troops casualties, but, the Nigeria Minister of Defense, General Christopher
14:17Moussa stated and confirmed during the week after security chiefs held a meeting with President
14:22Bola Ahmed Tanubu at the presidential villa in Abuja that a lot of Nigeria soldiers has been
14:28lost, but he insisted that contrary to some reports by the media, the terrorists and bandits
14:34are taking more casualties, specifically stating, their commanders are being killed every day, we
14:40are sure of victory, and some reports also suggest that the ISWOP terrorists are increasingly
14:44using armed drones for asymmetric warfare and high end tech like night vision in recent attacks
14:51on military bases in Nigeria with some foreigners joining the Nigeria ISWOP fighters to launch
14:58a Ramadan campaign that saw ISWOP overrunning some military bases in Konduga, Mainik, Jakana,
15:05and Marte areas of Borno state, with local media reports stating approximately 40 soldiers were
15:11killed, while ISWOP in a press release claimed to have killed 16 in the initial assault and
15:16another 20 in a subsequent suicide bombing.
15:19On March 4, 2026, at least 14 soldiers were reportedly killed during attacks on military bases in Ingosh
15:27and other parts of Borno state. Between February 15 and 18, 2026, multiple reports confirmed 8 soldiers
15:36were killed and 23 injured at a base in Kroskawa in the Kakawa local government area of Borno state,
15:43another 6 soldiers were reportedly killed in Bew local government area, earlier in January 2026.

17:18initiative after recent battlefield setbacks, attempted to infiltrate the troops' location.
17:23Unknown to the terrorists, vigilant OPHK troops had anticipated the move and deliberately prepared
17:30a decisive offensive-defensive battle plan. As the terrorists advanced towards the position,
17:36the troops launched coordinated spoiling actions that effectively disrupted the assault formation
17:41while simultaneously maneuvering to cut off the terrorists' withdrawal routes. The attackers
17:47were consequently met with overwhelming resistance and superior firepower, forcing them into a chaotic
17:53withdrawal while suffering significant losses. This latest defeat represents the third major blow
17:59inflicted on the terrorists within the last 24 hours, following their failed attacks at Banki and
18:05Azir Bridge. These successive setbacks further highlight the continued operational pressure
18:11being mounted by the troops of Operation Hadankai across the theater, which has severely constrained
18:17the terrorists' freedom of action and denied them any opportunity to exploit propaganda narratives.
18:23Troops remain firmly in control of all locations and continue to dominate the operational environment
18:29with high morale, superior tactical coordination and sustained offensive action. The military
18:35high command commended the troops for the continuous gallantry and resilience, urging them to sustain the

19:24From Nasarawa, Kodi and Benaway, residents are screaming that terrorists now flock to their farms and forests,
19:31disrupting economic activities, forcing entire villages to flee in fear.
19:36In Nasarawa's Kodako area alone, 14,318 civilians are now registered as internally displaced persons, IDPs.
19:46In Oyo state, travelers were abducted in the dead of night along the Kishiigbeti road, their whereabouts still unknown.
19:54In Oyo state, criminals shot at, abducted and wounded innocent citizens.
20:00And in Kevi state, terrorists are on a rampage, killing officers and citizens, making it the third deadly attack this
20:07month.
20:08The wave of terror has now brazenly crept into our nation's capital.
20:12The attack in Kubwa, Abuja, just this week, about 19 citizens were abducted from their homes, including women and children.
20:21This is yet another grim reminder that insecurity is no longer distant but now a norm.
20:27These are national tragedies happening simultaneously all over our country, claiming the lives of civilians and security operatives alike.
20:35The primary responsibility of any government is to secure the lives and property of its citizens.
20:41Yet, the response from the government in power to all the incidents has been dead silence, as if Nigerian lives
20:48no longer matter.
20:50The ruling class are instead devastatingly more preoccupied with how to snatch, grab, and run away with the next election.
20:58These are not just news items, Nigerians deserve commitment and leadership that puts their safety and welfare first.
21:05It is time to restore security, dignity, and hope to every corner of this nation.

21:14Punch newspaper during the week also reported that, troops of Operation Hadankai have reoccupied a military base,
21:21previously attacked and occupied by terrorists in Ingosh, who was a local government.
21:26Area of Borno State, on Line Punch on March 5th had reported that the terrorists burned down the base,
21:34dispersed soldiers, and killed an undetermined number of civilians before abducting over 300 residents.
21:40However, in a statement released on Thursday, the media information officer,
21:46Northeast Joint Task Force Operation Hadankai, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba,
21:51said troops thwarted the attack and neutralized many insurgents.

21:59Troops of the Nigerian Army under the Joint Task Force Northeast Operation Hadankai
22:05have successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on a military location in Ingosh,
22:10who was a local government area of Borno State,
22:13restoring control of the position after a swift counter-offensive.
22:17The terrorists had earlier attacked the location occupied by troops of OPHK on 3 March 2026.
22:24However, reinforcement teams drawn from Forward Operating Base Pulka and 151 Battalion were immediately mobilized to reinforce the position.
22:35The statement added that during the reinforcement operation,
22:39the leading mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device,
22:44which damaged two tires.
22:47Undeterred, troops continued the advance to the location, it explained.
22:51The Army colonel further disclosed that,
22:54a special reinforcement team led by the Commander 26 Task Force Brigade,
22:59Uoza, under Sector 1 OPHK, Brigadier General Nasruddin Abdullahi,
23:05subsequently arrived at the scene,
23:07coordinated a counter-attack and successfully foughted terrorists,
23:11forcing them to withdraw from the area.
23:13During the pursuit and exchange of fire,
23:17Sani said the troops recovered three AK-47 rifles and a general-purpose machine gun barrel from the fleeing terrorists.
23:24Equally, the air component of OPHK rendered heavy air support to the operation and neutralized scores of the terrorists,

23:33Sani stressed that following the successful reoccupation of the location and subsequent exploitation of the area,

23:43commending the gallantry and resilience while urging them to sustain aggressive operations in the area

23:59and will continue to conduct aggressive operations to ensure lasting peace,
